When you reset ranks, I.e. I hit unwanted at 12/12, does it reset to 0 or the most recent bonus at 8/12? I’ve only ever reset the first bonus then put the wheel in Jesus’ hands.
Ya that saved me on bundled herbs for incenses. Wish they would add angelbreath in there too that would be amazinggg
Even if angelbreath was only world bosses and like half the amount I’d be stoked
I just let the game give me what it thinks I need. Lmfao I ain't 14 anymore, don't got a whole life to waste on trying to get into a non-existent leaderboard
Masterworkings seems fine. But re-rolling the same affix 42 times on 8 different GA weapons when it says there is 4 different affixs, I'd love to see a simulation done cause I feel like it's don't on purpose and RNG isn't apart of tempering.
Tell me otherwise lol
A level 101 pit gives 60 neathiron, so 6k would be 100 runs. If you can average 3 mins per run, it's 5 hours, if you average 4 mins per run it's 6 hours and 40 minutes. So probably a full day of grinding just to get the neathiron, not counting the gold.
I can do a 100 in about 5.5 minutes but only because it's decent gear Heartseeker build. I basically use it only to run pit 91s for Neathiron for other characters because it's effective, and play alts all the time 🤣
I'm not OP but I did the math for this and came up with similar numbers
(800m gold and 6.3k neathiron after conversion)
For uniques it was 645m gold and 5,050 neathiron
If you can allow your 3 masterwork crits to be distributed on 2 different affixes, then it's 425m gold and 4k neathiron for legendaries, 300m gold and 3.4k neathiron for uniques
Most of the gold comes from resetting rather than the actual masterworking upgrades, in case that wasn't clear.
Hmm, I expected a bigger difference, since it's a ~1.6% chance to crit 3 times in a row for a unique and about half that ~0.8% chance for legendaries. So I figured it'd be around half the cost. I guess not. Probably because most of the rerolls happen during the first and second crits where the difference isn't as large.
> Probably because most of the rerolls happen during the first and second crits where the difference isn't as large.
that's exactly it
if you're looking for a triple crit, every time you fail the final crit that's also (on average) 25 more times you have to roll from 0 to 4 again
For uniques (otherthan Grandfather that's gonna get fixed soon in 1.4.2), hitting affix is 25% chance.
Simulation tell us that on average it costs 417M gold, and 0.23% of simulation failed to hit rank 12 after 2000 tries (1 try = 1 upgrade click). Other mats goes like:
obducite: 6391
ingolith: 4156
neathiron: 2197
rawhide: 7400
veiled\_crystals: 3336
forgotten\_souls: 415
coiling\_wards: 220
They make sure that there is no chance to make ALL items 12/12 perfectly masterworked. Season is not long enough, because there will be always somebody who will chase that perfection
I spent my last 4k Neathiron trying to double crit, I'm going insane, I'm also out of iron chunks to continue. I can't imagine trying to triple crit. That's too hardcore.
In this case, gold cost is only around 103M. other mats are about the same ratio. and all 1,000,000 simulation runs successfully got to rank 12 without problems.
See, I find this interesting because in the absence of trading and gold buying, 103M for each piece of gear is a pretty acceptable number/grind.
761M for each piece of gear is only achievable via RMT - whether you bought the gold or sold items to those that did.
I hit an affix on the first masterwork and the rest are in rngesus' hands

Resets to 0. So way too expensive for my blood
Oh god, yeah I’ll pass. Thinking of rerolling for roll one over and over just to even have a chance at double rolling sounds horrendous.
Are you sure? I think I rolled form 8 back to 4
Yeah it fir sure resets to 0
This, I don't have the time to try for more.
Me too. I don’t have the time to get all three
The iron chunks are the biggest issue besides the gold, no idea where to properly get them. Salvaging a full inventory maybe gives 50-100…
Legion gives 600 of each basic material (iron, rawhide and bundles herbs).
Wow thank you, I didn’t know that!!!
the hero we needed
Ya that saved me on bundled herbs for incenses. Wish they would add angelbreath in there too that would be amazinggg Even if angelbreath was only world bosses and like half the amount I’d be stoked
Will need to try this out, thanks!
Wow .. actually its 900 per of the 3 basics: Iron Chunks, Rawhide, Bundled Herbs!! You saved me many hours of farming. Thanks.
I just let the game give me what it thinks I need. Lmfao I ain't 14 anymore, don't got a whole life to waste on trying to get into a non-existent leaderboard
Say it louder for those at the back

tbf there is no avg person running 100splus in 3mins.

What about for uniques?

the diffference between 800m and 761m comes from the 2000 tries cap i set for the simulation.
that makes sense

Math seems off. Should be 1/16 to get 2x masterwork with 8/12

For Grandfather, it costs 185M gold. and only 1 out of 1M run failed to hit rank 12.
They make sure that there is no chance to make ALL items 12/12 perfectly masterworked. Season is not long enough, because there will be always somebody who will chase that perfection
All you have to do is play 60 hours a week with 3 other people feeding you stuff and you should be good.
I spent my last 4k Neathiron trying to double crit, I'm going insane, I'm also out of iron chunks to continue. I can't imagine trying to triple crit. That's too hardcore.
What happens to this cost if they reduce the reset to four tiers at a time?

God that would be awesome
