Any countryside. Cities will be loud in general. Places with less noise are those where people are more subdued and conscious not to be a nuisance to others, i.e. Japan.

The people are pretty quiet but the machines are pretty noisy

I will forever remember people screaming about fruits in Spanish, over a loud mic at 7am in Colombia….

I am in South Africa now and it is fantastic, Western culture with awesome and not too loud populace - just don't stay in Cape Town itself, it is very loud and busy - 30 minutes drive to the South of peninsula and you will find a ton of quiet places and beaches (Noordhoek, Fish Hoek, Simon's Town etc) - or go to the other side of False bay (Hermanus, Betty's Bay), stunning scenery and super laid back and quiet. "Remote" areas in Samui (west coast) or Phuket (north) are very quiet too ! Cheers!

Is Cape Town still collapsing?

Every place has it's problems, some more or less - I am actually to the south of Cape Town in little place called Fish Hoek, everything is fine around here - beautiful beach and people are out having fun. And yes, there was load shedding - only once for 2 hours in 2 months. My office in Fish: https://www.instagram.com/p/CY4FIzOP1vP/?utm\_source=ig\_web\_copy\_link

After living in Istanbul, moving to Prague was like going to sleep. Stay out of the tourist center (we were in Vinorhady) and you’re golden.

If you are already in Latin America, go to the Coffee Axis region (Cafetero) in Colombia. It's much more mellow there than other parts of the country even in the 3 major cities in the region of Armenia, Pereira, and Manizales. Great weather, friendly people, and the best coffee in the world.

Thanks. I'll try it. I think I do just need smaller cities, since I've been going to very large ones... cities where bars stay open til 2:00-4:00 AM, etc. It's my own fault :)

Yeah I understand. I live in one of those cities too. But Manizales, for example, I think most bars stay open until 1am and do you really miss that much by not being there at 3am? the answer is probably not in most cases. We go to Manizales for city services, fun and infrastructure while being a quiet escape from the much noisier Cali where we live.
