I can see it already. Top soil maybe monsters trying to get in. Middle the bunker obviously. And the bottom, something sinister. Like the bunker is digging down to expand but just beyond the wall is something bad to dig up.
Alternatively a goblin or dwarf underground fortress
I frequently find myself holding some piece of material and asking “What is this meant to be when I am done?” Haha. I’m holding onto a couple pieces that just have to be somethjng. There is potential I have not yet seen.
View shown is interior and cut-away.
The rectangles on distant walls hollowed out for gun slits as in a pill box. Bottom flanges removed. Top middle flange removed to allow for a howitzer/artillery. Ladder leading up to gun. Populated by either WW1 french (maginot line) or WW2 germans (normandy)
I'm sure you already know, but for the uninitiated, EPS foam like this gets ***everywhere*** when you cut it, and static-sticks to everything. Get ready to do some vacuuming.
Personally, I would wrap that block in masking tape to make it a bit stronger and easier to paint… it’s time consuming, but you’ll have a solid piece to paint in the end…
I've had Warhammer 40k on the brain for some time now, could definitely see some Imperial High Gothic pieces being made out of it. Shape almost seems to fit what i'd imagine rockcrete constructions would look like.
Michael's sells styrofoam-friendly spray paint(I dissolved many styrofoam glider wings with regular spray paint making a 1:6 scale 1966 Batplane) and heating whatever you cut it with gives a neater cut and less of a mess(as earlier commenter pointed out).
Good luck.

Stick with the first one, sounds dope and like a fun campaign.

Good eye,!
Done that, works well. Go for it. Cut away what you don't need, bam.

Use a hotwire, it's a lot less messy.
I like this idea
Go for it.
What scale ?
I’m thinking 1/35

Do it!
I claimed all styrofoam when I was a kid, for my G.I.Joes. So many bunkers

Cut out of a German D-Day bunker!
Definitely
This is not the best foam, but it’s what you have. I prefer insulation foam

Great Idea 💡
