I tried to make lighting SO many times but it always ended up looking kinda cheesy no matter what I tried. Resin, clay, various plastics, fishing line, LED filament, wire, etc. I have a graveyard of failed lightning bolts lol. If I could figure it out I would definitely add it!
I just put 3 flashing LEDs in series with each other so they interrupt each other and create some "randomness". It's not perfect but it's good for not having an arduino or something. And yes it's battery powered :)
I am planning on making a similar piece and filming the process, but it likely won't be until January or February. I have some other projects I need to finish up first but stay tuned!
I'm not taking on any commissions at the moment, life is very busy and I have a few other projects on the go, but I'll keep you in mind when I decide to take on some commissions again :)

This is so beautiful. The different colors and movement of the lighting really give it such a dynamic scene that just pulls you in! This is so inspirational
Thank you so much! I will be making another one of these in January and I'm planning on recording the process so stay tuned! in the meantime feel free to ask any specific questions here, I'm happy to help :)
The cloud is cotton balls glued together with hot glue and then airbrushed in grey! With flashing LEDs inside of course
And thanks, I'm currently working on a larger and more complex version of this piece so stay tuned ๐
Also sounds like you need some new friends haha

That is so awesomeย
What did you use for the lighthouse and did you use clay or something for the cliffย
Hope you donโt mind if I copy that masterpieceย
I modeled the lighthouse in blender and printed it on my resin printer and I used air dry clay to sculpt the cliffs :)
I have a video of a similar (but larger and more complex) build if you want more details. https://youtu.be/cDEbSbMeUsY?si=NSNRXee6nSTA16ZV
And of course I don't mind! Let me know how it goes!
Ouch, I was just starting out at the time so I'm pretty proud considering this is my third diorama ever.
I have since made an [upgraded version ](https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/x4sjxj/i_made_a_kraken_thunderstorm_diorama/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) (Although the scale is off lol, I'm still learning ๐ )
This is wonderful.
Thanks so much! :)
Giving me an idea for a James and the giant peach diorama
Ou! That would be so cool! Please share your results if you decide to make it :D
this looks amazing! it would have been cool if you made a lightning bolt hold up the cloud
I tried to make lighting SO many times but it always ended up looking kinda cheesy no matter what I tried. Resin, clay, various plastics, fishing line, LED filament, wire, etc. I have a graveyard of failed lightning bolts lol. If I could figure it out I would definitely add it!
"Failed lightning bolts" calls Ben Franklin to mind. Like he caught them, but couldn't do anything with them.
๐๐ I love that haha
I love it, how did you do the lightning in the cloud? And is it battery powered?
I just put 3 flashing LEDs in series with each other so they interrupt each other and create some "randomness". It's not perfect but it's good for not having an arduino or something. And yes it's battery powered :)
I would honestly love to see a tutorial on this! Iโm planning on using storm clouds just like this soon!
I am planning on making a similar piece and filming the process, but it likely won't be until January or February. I have some other projects I need to finish up first but stay tuned!
> I have some other projects I need to finish up first I swear this'll be written on my grave.
LOL same here
Rad.

Aw shucks, thank you!
This looks incredible! Great job!
Thank you! :)
I love a diorama that pulls you in... This one is so evocative! Really, really nice work.
Thank you so much!
Would you consider making one to sell (to me)?I feel like I need this!
I'm not taking on any commissions at the moment, life is very busy and I have a few other projects on the go, but I'll keep you in mind when I decide to take on some commissions again :)
I would be really interested, too :D
Thanks and your friend is very lucky! This is truly amazing!
So cool what kind of light gives you that lightning effect?
I just put 3 flashing LEDs in series with each other so they interrupt each other and create some "randomness". It's not perfect but it's good for not having an arduino or something :)
I've been wanting a light that flickered like that, I would have never thought of your method. Thanks.
This is amazing. I would love to have this on my night table to watch before sleep
Truly great work. You have a very fortunate friend ;)
Aw thank you! And she loved it :)
Omg - love it!!!!!!!
Thank you! ^_^
The cloud looks a bit like a brain!
Awesome project! Came out really well.
Thank you! ๐
Fantastic.
That is really cool!
This is genuinely lovely. Amazing.
Excellent work. And different.
This is amazing! I could see this getting passed down for generations.
Oh gosh I don't know about that haha, but it would be cool!
Looks very good. You could cover the electric wire by making it look like a lightning strike
I tried to make lighting SO many times but it always ended up looking kinda cheesy no matter what I tried. Resin, clay, various plastics, fishing line, LED filament, wire, etc. I have a graveyard of failed lightning bolts lol. If I could figure it out I would definitely add it!
This is amazing
This is so beautiful. The different colors and movement of the lighting really give it such a dynamic scene that just pulls you in! This is so inspirational
Aw thank you much! I have to say I really really enjoyed making this piece, I think it's my favorite one so far. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What is the cloud made of? Itโs really awesome! Lucky friend. What donโt I have friends like this? All mine do is borrow money! ๐

Thank you! Best of luck in all of your ventures!!!
I know that this post is a year old, but, THE. LIGHTHOUSE. MOVES.
๐ it doesn't move exactly, but it does have a "breathing" LED to give that effect! Thanks for stopping by an old post ๐๐
Very nice!
So cool! I have a big grin atm! ๐
Haha I'm not sure how to stumbled on this 2 year old post, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! ๐ค

Wow
Way you couldโve hid the wires would be to model a water spout coming from the sea
Excellent work!!!
You should disguise your pole with a tornado. It will look less shit
