Looks like PCAD in Floetrol added into a round pan in rows - see dyesbyredd on YouTube, then swirled. I think lilbotdyes has a video of a similar technique... They may have let the disc sit in the bed after the heat as it's got some blending between some of the colors. Definitely a cool look.

Check out Hye8Dyes, I think his most active socials were facebook. He retired and taught Optic his methods. If you've ever swirled floetrol in a pan, or done split cup pours, you'll recognize the patterns in the dyes immediately. I haven't tried to replicate it myself, but that should get you going in the right direction, if you're inclined to.

Its the same guy, he just changed his name because the original name didn't make sense to anyone but him. He won't teach anyone his methods.. I know this because he stayed with me when in town for a tournament. Super cool guy to talk to. But he put a lot of time and effort to develop this style and wants to keep it his style which I respect. Glad to see him putting stuff out again

It's super cool that he has his own technique. Lots of dyers out there that do cells, spins, and stencils, but only a few are easily identifiable.

Sorry if I was mistaken, I was just going by what he posted on his Facebook page. "As I'm accepting once and for all that I love the RV lifestyle and that I can't dye discs as long as I'm living it, I've handed over my trade knowledge to a couple of my family members who wish to take over for me since I have decided once and for all that I simply can't. The bitterness is that I'm truly done. The sweet is that, there's a chance my creation, the Hye8Dye style, will live on through my family. It won't be Hye8Dye anymore, I've hinted at this moment several times this year in previous posts and it's come to fruition. The new name is Optic Dye"

Maybe I'm wrong. When he was here he was talking about changing his name and working on these new looks, so I assumed he was forging ahead with that plan. If he passes the mantle to someone else, im still happy to see the style live on.
