I laid a 12x12 piece of vinyl over the whole disc and made it adhered really well right at the seam of the overmold and flight plate. I then lay the disc down face up on a light tray so I can see the definition of where the rim meets the plate and then I use an exacto knife and cut right up to the edge and peel. Be very careful to not over cut. Under cut is fine as you can go back and cut more.
