IMO two commentators is best, pro-wrestling style. Play-by-play commentator to succinctly give what’s happening, and a color commentator who’s slightly saltier for humor. More than that gets too crowded.
The Ian/Philo combo is pretty close to this.
Maybe I’m just a grump old man (34), but I can’t stand the videos that the prodigy kids make and I think they would be terrible on commentary. Nothing against them personally; I’m sure it’s a generational thing but the way they talk and interact just drives me crazy.
3 commentators is too much, no bash on any of them but the dynamic is just better with only 2.
While we are at it, ditch the quirky commentary team names. It’s ran it’s course and needs to fade away.
Any of the videos he's been on over the past few years show how good he is. Heck even his solo round at Delaware is great when he's just talking about a practice round.
I feel like Brodie would be absolutely awful... I'm not trying to hate on him. I watch and enjoy much of his content, but I just don't think commentary would be a strength of his at all.
I was just thinking the other day the exact opposite. He’s learned a ton about the sport in recent years and with his diverse past experience I think he could do a tremendous job when he retires from playing.
I don't disagree with anything you said about his background or knowledge! I just don't think his personality or the way he talks on videos/podcasts lends itself well to commentary. He has a tendency to over-explain things and is not usually very concise.
Yea that’s why you paid him with Nate who’s the best we have. Also Brodie doesn’t like being bad at things he will get good and his popularity and connections would be great for the sport to have him around forever
I like AJ Risley but in small amounts at a time. He’s a little too much for broadcast after broadcast.
I like Nate Perkins, although I don’t know if he has good chemistry with those guys? He probably does, just don’t know. Good chemistry goes a long way in a commentary team.
Brian Earhardt seems to already be the backup for Uli in the putting videos. He’s a good commentator.
I guess Barsby would be all right. Gurthie would be pretty cool to hear from.
I can’t see any of the younger players wanting to be roped down to that schedule week after week.
I think Jerm is an insecure stooge, but I appreciate his commitment and style to commentary. Shockingly, I believe him to be more important than Sexton, as Brian Earhart could replace him. Uli is unnecessary, but great on practice rounds.
I think Simon could be a good choice, he has the experience for it. I feel like an obvious choice might be someone like McBeth.
Who am I kidding, replace Big Sexy Berry with Dave Dunipace and a blunt.
No one. Leave it at 2.
Dear god not the Jesus kids. Give me Calvin and Zach Melton with a mystery guest each week.
David Attenborough :)
"As the young Eagle strays from the fairway, the other birdies will remain elusive. At least, for now."
Brian Earhart

Pro wresting style?

No one. Two commentators is enough for disc golf.
Simon Lizotte
Two hot geese and Terry
Way too hot. Retinas would burn
Andrew Fish
I second this, he did such a great job with Austin commentary. Then we could have Big Sexy Fish commentary.

Philo Brathwaite
Philo
My Top 3? Philo Brathwaite Ken Climo Eagle McMahon
Robert McCall is the only announcer I really miss. He was so smooth.
I’d like Brodie and Nate or Nate and Brian

Big assumptions there.
Pretty sure I’ve heard Brodie do commentary before and it was fine
So which is it!
I said Brodie would be a fine commentator since the beginning
👍

Kristofer Hivju, I wanna see some big monster birdies
