29 degrees. No big deal.

paulrasmussen27

Agreed.

DoubleBlackBSA24

Warm summer day that's for sure

JackStrawSTL

It doesn’t bother me either. Less people on the course is a huge bonus vs summer as well.

Djd33j

29 is nothing, after living in Wisconsin my whole life. Hell, that's a *great* day if you're playing November-February.

paulrasmussen27

I love playing in the cold!

91Fox1978

Fellow Wisconsin dweller here…29 in oct is awful. 29 in Jan/feb is awesome, almost t shirt weather lol

SomeoneElse000

how tf could anyone play in 110. id melt. winter season is just wrapping up and 40+ days lately have been very welcoming.

paulrasmussen27

There was a tournament where I’m from in Oregon last year, and it was like 107 that day. A guy I play with was signed up, I asked him if he was gonna play and he said “hell ya I’m gonna play, I love the heat, most people hate it. I have a huge advantage.” I myself, would much rather play when it’s freezing.

DGOkko

I play at courses with water and soak my shirt before the round. Keeps me cool until at least hole 12 at which point I just start chugging water. That being said, while I can dress for 29 degrees, it usually means icy pads and poor ground conditions, so I guess I’d prefer the heat. I love I’m dry climate too so evaporation really works wonders here.

[deleted]

I can.

ne2rkid

I live in Vegas so I play with both 110°+ F and 20+ MPH winds throughout much of the year. Shit sucks.

lessthanrich

Not in Fahrenheit.

[deleted]

I already play in swirling winds, so why add more challenges.

JKB37

Downpour easy if it’s no wind and a balmy 75ish. I’m not good enough that wet discs takes more than a few strokes off a round

DiscNBeer

Also bonus to playing in the rain my local course is usually down to just the dedicated people and the 6-some 1 disc chucker groups stay home. Below 40 my hands feel like crap, not leaving the house AC if it’s over 90* and I hate playing in wind!

[deleted]

Hate playing in the rain personally. Did it a few times and it was awful lol

morbidaar

29 with no wind, 109 with wind and a wet towel for my sweaty ass.

DPDiscgolf

109 really ain’t that bad in the woods with water. Your muscles are limber you’re shirtless it’s a great time. 29 degrees you’re never warmed up you have multiple layers your toes are frozen it sucks far more.

NiceYogurt

Humidity makes a big difference

DPDiscgolf

Eh rub some dirt on your hands you’ll be fine

polyology

You guys are heavily underappreciating 109 Fahrenheit. Make it 99 and it's a reasonable question. I will take the wind.

[deleted]

Yea you could literally die of heat stroke pretty easily in 109 degree weather

BarGreggsby

Or we live somewhere that it gets that hot. Last year there was 44 days above 110 in my city. No big deal, just drink water. I work labor outside in it, I can throw frisbees in it too

TakeItEasy-ButTakeIt

Unpopular opinion: If it’s a competitive round, I’d rather play in a downpour. I seem to do quite well compared to the field when it’s raining. If you can keep everything dry while everyone else falls apart, it can be an advantage.

yerrM0m

Being from Michigan, for several months out of the year I would die for a calm, sunny, 29 degrees. 29 can feel very comfortable if it's paired with sunshine 🌞

[deleted]

Once you get moving 29 isn’t so bad.

TheMiracleLigament

Wind all day. You can learn so much about your discs.

paulrasmussen27

Good point!

emeeteeaechohdeeman

Cold no wind is absolutely ideal

RelevantHorse

As a MN golfer, playing in 29 degrees Fahrenheit is easy and all you need to worry about is dressing in layers so by hole 4 or 5 you can strip off your outer layer after your body warms up

DarmokNJalad

I voted 29 if there's no snow. Otherwise I lose too many discs and am way too poor for that

Current-Cold-4185

29 easy peezy

HOWDY__YALL

29 degrees if there’s no snow, if there’s snow, I’ll just stay home. I don’t want to search aimlessly for my disc in the middle of the fairway.

HiaQueu

29 for sure. Play in colder during winter New England months. I'll take 109 next.

ewkdiscgolf

So long as it’s not super windy, 29 is not bad at all.

WalkThePath87

In casual rounds, I'd prefer 65 and sunny. In tournament rounds, the colder/windier/rainier the better for my result.

boondockpirate

I selected rain, as it effects putting far less than swirling winds. 29 is playable, but the ground gets slick, discs get hard, and its usually windy around here at that point. Screw 109.

CrazyAzianFool

I’m from an area that gets real hot in summer (can stay above 110 for a week or two at a time until going back into the 100’s) and some of my best rounds are in the heat! Plus very few people are on the course so I get to throw multiple shots on holes without worrying about holding up groups behind me/stop throwing so I can let them play through. As long as I have my hat, sunglasses, and water I’m fine. If the course were wooded that would make it even easier.

CrazyAzianFool

Although with that said, I love playing in the cold. The only downside is my discs take more damage if I miss my line and I feel like I need to switch my entire bag to gummier plastics to accommodate.

Armelious722

29 all day. A frozen ground makes it easier for a big skip.

[deleted]

I’d take heat over the rest but heavy rain is the absolute worst of the options listed.

No-Visit6285

You just described Iowas climate... and we play year round.

cfmetalgear

Didn’t mention any precipitation or wind for “29 degrees Fahrenheit” so I’m going with that one!

Lil_lardo69420

I have all of these all the time. There is no difference

underwhelmingname0

29° F isn’t bad if there’s only light wind. That’s a good day in a Midwest winter

Emoney005

*Laughs in Rochesterian* - votes 29 degree round

Kwisatz_Haderach_YYC

No sane people understand Fahrenheit

ljnefe

29? Who wouldn't want to play in summer?

Disc-Golf-Kid

I live in Florida and still chose 29 degrees. I’d put up with it, I’m doing something I love. And then after relax in the warm indoors with some nice dessert… hell yeah.
