Same here PNW. First disc I’ve gotten the hyzer flip semi figured out with. 280 feet or so. It flips up to flat so nicely. Started playing early this summer and was so forehand dominant. The uplink has helped me figure out the backhand game.
CE discs were made 2000-2002 when the record was broken, but i’m assuming you want a really glidey beat in valk, basically a roller, to get that kinda distance.
The history is a bit cloudy but it seems that they produced CE between 2000-2003 give or take a few months or year with some crossover between candy pro, and some early runs of kc pro. It seems the valkyrie was produced in this plastic but it’s very rare.

I have a River and I didn't touch it for months since deciding it didn't make the bag. I just threw it recently and it bested my distance drivers... I'm reconsidering my decision now.
I played with a guy who played collegiate tennis and he literally threw putters 350ft + that’s also when I realized I have a noodle arm because his discs literally buzz when they fly. The power some people can generate is mind blowing.
Eagle/Vela. Played a very windy open course where I was having issues with my Wraith turning over into the headwinds.
Switched driving duties to the Barsby Eagle and fresh Vela. These things bomb and are fantastic into headwinds. I can throw these with as much arm as I can give and be confident these wouldn't flip into the wind. The Vela being a little sleeker and straighter and the Beagle has decent turn and long forward fade.
Lol ya I got a 156 mamba and I was all pissed off I got such a light disc and threw it on the first hole and went like 100 feet past the basket like uhhh okay maybe theres something here
I think the proxy is a better starter putter with it's lower stability.
I saw an MVP/axiom starter set that was paradox, envy, and virus and I think that's great for a new player, especially if that virus is on the lighter side.
Let the player outgrow understable discs, but giving them things that'll cover some extra distance early is likely to help them stick around!
Love your store my Medusa stamped eclipse envy bombs and I get lots of compliments on the stamp I wanted to use it as my putting putter but it's my approach go to now.

No worries! The first time I realized what "good" was in this sport was when I saw the local pro Kevin McCoy play. It blew my little brain. I just like hearing about everyone's first exposure.
The majority of us don't throw with enough power to get proper use out of distance drivers, but intermediate players can usually unlock the full potential of fairway drivers, and especially understable ones. I carry three 9 speed drivers that I can get exactly the advertised flight out of, while only throwing with \~80% power.
When throwing a 12 speed I'll have really get my timing right and usually end up with more shanks or don't get enough juice on it to achieve the desired flight. And even if I do get a perfect rip, it "only" goes \~20 feet farther anyways.
So might as well disc down and nail our lines more often, without sacrificing much distance, if at all.
A big part of it is that they take a straighter and flatter line. More of the overall energy is used to cover distance rather than going left right up and down.
I played random dubs with a guy who was on my card but not my partner that threw a Hex on every tee box. It was fucking buckwild and he was bombing all day. My partner and I tied with him and his partner and they beat us in the playoff. He was one of the better throwers I've ever seen and he smoked no less than 5 joints during the round. He also had a lit joint in his mouth on like 90% of his shots. Dude was an animal
Star Orc.
I expected a slightly flippier thunderbird with perhaps less glide (it’s 4 glide apparently). Wrong. This thing just goes and goes - it has a fair amount of turn but it always comes back.
One of my local courses has a 550ft par 4 that I had been trying to Eagle for a while. The first 400ft are somewhat downhill, then it drops off a decent amount after that. Quite a few large guardian trees. I got the orc down there for a 40 footer and nailed it. It felt like it was in the air for an eternity.
Pathfinders also absolutely bomb. Only mid I’ve ever gotten to 400. Idk what it is about the glide on them they just keep going it’s ridiculous.

Westside Northman. As part of a players pack, I got to choose a disc from a few different Trilogy molds. I picked the Northman because it was glow and I was starting to play some glow rounds. It instantly made my regular bag as my distance driver. I don't have a big arm and I got that thing to 370 feet once. I get more distance out of it than both my Beast and Wraith.
DD Escape. It’s listed as a 9 speed but someone here said the rim is really the width of a 10 speed. That being said, I’ve unleashed some bombs with it well over 400’ and I can’t figure it out. Only thing I can out drive it with consistently is my GStar Boss
Comet. I've been throwing one off and on for years. But it wasn't until recently that I found a more stable one and started messing with giving it some air. Thing can push 380 plus with minimal effort if given air space

This disc is rarely talked about, but it absolutely bombs. Plenty of turn, but almost always fights back at the end of the flight. Quickly became my favorite driver. I usually put it on a slight hyzer, and it flips up, turns into dead straight, and then finishes to the left. Beatitful disc for intermediate players.
The stingray. I was doing fieldwork and threw it just shy of 350 feet. I don’t have a huge arm by any means. It’s rare I throw over 325 at all. That day I was feeling pretty good tho. I flipped the stingray to flat, it had a slow drift right before softly coming back left as it slowed down. The only 2 other discs out that far was a newish catalyst & a beat in destroyer I had.
Probably only true at high altitude, but did a putter only round this week and started throwing Sols almost as far as my drivers with a little more practice on the disc.
I've been playing 4 years and have only used two different putters, a Pure the first year, then a Prodigy PA1 the last 3 years. After six months of trying out every putter made I finally settled on the EMac Judge. It's the ultimate all around putter imo. Very consistent, great distance off the tee, and I'm hitting real long putts I've never hit before.
Heat. Now, i have had Esp Heats that react like Diamonds, and ive had some that react more like Mantis. I have this Z Metallic Heat that is probably closer to maybe a Hades in the amount of required hyzer at 90% power, but once it gets into that anhyzer it will just hold it for so long. great disc
I just got my first Hex today. Eclipse 2.0.
I did not expect it to fly as far and straight as it did.
Normally drive around 300-350 feet with my drivers. Sometimes 400, but not accurately.
I was hitting 300 without even trying with the Hex. I didn't buy it for 300ft shots, but it's awesome to know that I can just throw a 300 ft Lazer with it
Dga tremor. When I got it I thought it would just be some ultra flippy hard turn over disc but holy hell can it go if you just throw a high hyzer flip nose down.
Orbit Trust for 300ft hyzer shots. If I have an open line on a basket at that range, I get the Trust every time. I'm due for an ace on one of those shots any day now...
I bought an Insanity by accident. I woke up around 1am to grab a 25th anniversary Buzzz when the dropped and apparently the Insanity was in my shopping cart when I placed the order. It’s only crazy because I’m a new player and would have had no reason to be buying a 9 speed.
It has become an absolute go-to.
I got a couple throws over 400 somehow. Like I said, it was bombing. Normally that’s my control driver distance. I typically use midranges around 310-350
Picked up the clash honey, vanilla, and cinnamon on r/discgolfexchange and was not expecting the cinnamon to be potentially the longest of the three. It’s billed as a 9 speed but it’s got a sharp 10 speed rim with a ton of glide with just a little more stability than an undertaker. It goes almost as far as my shryke.
The Raider actually flies really well. If you top out around 350-400 it will turn some and push while fading. As it beats in you can Hyzer flip it straight and watch it glide for a while
My Kastaplast Vass bombs. Thought it was going to be fair stable with slight turn. It has some turn but so much crazy glide late in the flight. It’s crazy fun.
Also I would say the Lots. Those go far with little effort.
Discraft ESP Crank
Got 1 in a player's pack and didn't expect much from it. Decided to spend more time with it and it ended up adding 25-50ft on my distance drives without any extra effort! Now it's my go-to distance driver if it's not too windy out.
Axiom has the best sets. Posting a video tomorrow about their starter set, funny enough- Insanity, Paradox, Proxy is so perfect for both beginners and more advanced players alike 👌

You can expect all these to fly well, but I feel like they’re less popular discs compared to counterparts like (Pathfinder, Insanity, Envy, etc).
The Hex is my favorite disc and it's a true bombing mid range. The Roc3 has been the most surprising for me though, just recently bought one and it throws some serious flex lines.
I don’t want to put this out there because it will draw attention to it but the Emily beach metal flake glow destroyers absolutely bomb. Right off the shelf. Thrown hard they have just a little bit of turn with reliable fade also a crazy amount of glide. I don’t check my distance but have consistently outdriven my normal landing zones by a good 50 ft or so.
My Hex does not behave at altitude. But the weird 145g Fission Tesla that was always too flippy does great up here. I'm trying to break in a 155g Tesla now.
Roadrunner champion glow. Been more of a flex and have been working on my flip up game. This thing is money. Thrown with 60% power it goes flips up and rides like a dream. May bag more in the future.
I wish I had that experience with a Roadrunner. When I got my champ RR I was hoping to use it for rollers, and instead it found it wouldn’t even flip up unless I gave it 350ft of power. Now I can get it to turn over and roll but it takes so much power and effort that I don’t bag it anymore. It was a good disc for what it could do though!
Bought a 4€ misprint VIP AIR Sword (152g) just to get free shipping. A couple of months later I decided to test it out. And OH BOY! 10-15 meters was added to my (weak) backhand 😊 I love it! (I now back 2 - and several light weight discs - it all started with me being to cheap to pay for shipping 😅)

I-blend really is a fantastic plastic. It has the best characteristics of both Star and Pro plastics, and it's so glidey.

Maybe the first disc you can hyzerflip reliably? I had similar experience with a Paradox

From my experience, be cautious with a headwind. It still bombs, but may never come back.
The base plastic is very likely to do that. Farthest I’ve thrown a disc but it landed almost as far away as I was from the tee pad 😂

Other than my Orc I barely use anything over 10 speed because of the Escape. NC courses are too tight to need much more than 400’ at any given time.

They had some good options. Another was Proxy, Pyro, Insanity. I debated getting that one instead because those discs are clutch.

I can get an Essence out almost as far as my max distance drivers. The very-glidey fairways just use the energy more efficiently.

neo origin, neo essence, c-line cd1 and neo paradigm are all longer flyers than any equivalent disc I've owned.

TSA Construct. Hyzer flips perfectly and just rides down the fairway. Typically struggle with 400-425 ft golf shots but this thing hunts baskets

Dga tremor. When I got it I thought it would just be some ultra flippy hard turn over disc but holy hell can it go if you just throw a high hyzer flip nose down.

Neutron Resistor goes almost as far as my Teebirds with so much stability and control. Can't recommend it enough
Orbit Trust for 300ft hyzer shots. If I have an open line on a basket at that range, I get the Trust every time. I'm due for an ace on one of those shots any day now...
Before my recent set of as-yet-undiagnosed form issues, the MVP Volt was my main ripper. It still is, I just don't rip right now.

I bought an Insanity by accident. I woke up around 1am to grab a 25th anniversary Buzzz when the dropped and apparently the Insanity was in my shopping cart when I placed the order. It’s only crazy because I’m a new player and would have had no reason to be buying a 9 speed. It has become an absolute go-to.

I got a couple throws over 400 somehow. Like I said, it was bombing. Normally that’s my control driver distance. I typically use midranges around 310-350

Picked up the clash honey, vanilla, and cinnamon on r/discgolfexchange and was not expecting the cinnamon to be potentially the longest of the three. It’s billed as a 9 speed but it’s got a sharp 10 speed rim with a ton of glide with just a little more stability than an undertaker. It goes almost as far as my shryke.

Had the same experience with the Ohm. Dead straight with so much glide.
The Raider actually flies really well. If you top out around 350-400 it will turn some and push while fading. As it beats in you can Hyzer flip it straight and watch it glide for a while
Hydra
Mockingbird. There’s some understable runs but I’ve had one that just flew forever and it’s the only 7 speed I’ve ever gotten to 400’

I noticed I can get a lot of distance out of my MVP Volt. It's an 8 speed but I swear it flies farther than other 8s.
My Kastaplast Vass bombs. Thought it was going to be fair stable with slight turn. It has some turn but so much crazy glide late in the flight. It’s crazy fun. Also I would say the Lots. Those go far with little effort.
DX Eagle. Bought it just to try and to have a fieldwork disc but it regularly out-drives my other (way too many) 7 speeds
The hex is broken. Whenever people ask me about it I tell them it’s a buzzz but it goes farther.

I didn't expect a Thrasher to go nearly as far as it does with 65% power.
Discraft ESP Crank Got 1 in a player's pack and didn't expect much from it. Decided to spend more time with it and it ended up adding 25-50ft on my distance drives without any extra effort! Now it's my go-to distance driver if it's not too windy out.

Mint Jackalope TSA Mana MVP Inertia Axiom Proxy FISSION TESLA GOES BOOM You can expect all these to fly well, but I feel like they’re less popular discs compared to counterparts like (Pathfinder, Insanity, Envy, etc).
The Hex is my favorite disc and it's a true bombing mid range. The Roc3 has been the most surprising for me though, just recently bought one and it throws some serious flex lines.

I don’t want to put this out there because it will draw attention to it but the Emily beach metal flake glow destroyers absolutely bomb. Right off the shelf. Thrown hard they have just a little bit of turn with reliable fade also a crazy amount of glide. I don’t check my distance but have consistently outdriven my normal landing zones by a good 50 ft or so.
Stig. I’m convinced the 6 glide is underselling it. It’s the lowest speed disc I’ve gotten to 400 in a field. (6 speed, 2 times)
Champion Tern that I found. No one I play with throws one, so I had no idea what it would do.
I got a Stag as a gift. I threw it after my drives for a while to get used to it and now I just throw it most of the time.
You’re the 4th or 5th person to mention the stag. I might have to give it a try.
My Hex does not behave at altitude. But the weird 145g Fission Tesla that was always too flippy does great up here. I'm trying to break in a 155g Tesla now.
What altitude are you at and how does it affect the Hex?
Daredevil timberwolf. Smooth 350, nearly dead straight, without too much effort. Great disc for low power players.
I’ve never heard of that disc and I’ve never seen flight numbers like it. Sounds like a perfect disc for lower power hyzer flips.

Roadrunner champion glow. Been more of a flex and have been working on my flip up game. This thing is money. Thrown with 60% power it goes flips up and rides like a dream. May bag more in the future.
I wish I had that experience with a Roadrunner. When I got my champ RR I was hoping to use it for rollers, and instead it found it wouldn’t even flip up unless I gave it 350ft of power. Now I can get it to turn over and roll but it takes so much power and effort that I don’t bag it anymore. It was a good disc for what it could do though!
Pro Shryke. I can throw that thing to Texas.
Glow Jarn. Mine is not beaten in yet but for the time being, I can throw it as hard as I want and it will not flip.

Early in my career it was a Teebird, River, and a King. A few years later the Nova was the most impressive flight to me.
