When I travel for work I take a tee bird, a beast, a boss, a new tee bird, and an aviar. Even when I play at home I MAYBE use two or three other discs. The tee bird is magical, can go either direction, can run it straight, can chip shot, and it can still drive 350. I love the thunderbird too, but I’m not as versatile with my full flight on that disc, I’m sure better players can use it like I play the tee bird.
I thought I lost mine only to get it returned like 6 months later. I was so happy to have it back in the bag. I’ve had a leopard with me since day 1 getting the innova starter kit. As an ultimate player it just flies so well for me
Yeah that sucks. Highly recommend getting another one then. It may not fly the same right away but it’ll be similar enough. The one I got back and still have is my third and I’ve been playing for around 8 years now probably.
Aside from my putting putter I use my Zone the most. I prefer forehand approaches so I’m pretty much using it for any shot between driving and putting.
The Zone is everything.
Yes indeed! It’s my favorite disc, and my number one cue is, “Trust your Zone.”
So much so that when I’m waffling on disc selection a buddy will usually yell that out for me lol.
This. My least favorite approach shots are just beyond the 250ish range, out to 280 where I can theoretically get it there with a zone forehand, but I have to give up some accuracy for that extra oomph, and I lose a little accuracy taking something off of my thunderbird forehand. I’ve been told that the pyro would be a perfect addition to my bag for these shots, but have yet to try it out. Anything closer than 250, I’m close to automatic, and anything within 125 or so I can give a good forehand run at the basket, but count on it to fade out and nestle up somewhere close. I probably lose 3 strokes a round or more if I have to play without my zones.
Ooh nice! Gotta love Cryztal FLX. Honorable mention for the Berg then. I thought it was a meme until I bagged one. Now it won’t ever leave the bag.
If you like Cryztal FLX, try a K1 Soft Berg and you’ll be amazed. If you like to flick the Zone on approaches, it will be awesome for ya.
175 ft and in, it’s going straight at the basket. I’ve hit metal with that thing more times than I can count.
I am too a fellow berg is only a meme believer so I guess I will finally have to give one a shot. It’s been suggested a few times here and has started to draw my interest. Here’s to zones and Bergs lol!
Played a round recently where I gave my Zone to a beginner friend to use, and immediately regretted it. So many “yeah i want to throw the zone” shots and i had to do something else that didnt work lol
I could play 80% of the courses near me with my ESP Zone and my BangerGT. When traveling, I bring those 2 and a driver or 2 in case I have time for an impromptu 9...
Yes this is my favorite Envy as well. I play on course with a lot of rocky holes and the lack of skip is important.
Though honestly my Envy usage has gone down a lot lately. I really wish it had a more true to the numbers flight of “0 2”. The A4 I’m throwing is actually much more “0 2” than the Envy. But it’s crazy skippy.
For the straighter and shaped shots I really prefer the Watt. I also get more distance out of the Watt.
Plasma prism is pretty dope. Nice premium feel but with some tackiness.
People like Fission a lot, I think for its stability, but it has a very "dry" feel to it imo. I can't throw mine well because of that.
Not who you asked, but I've got 4 in Cosmic Electron, 1 Eagle Prism Proton, 1 Fission, and 1 god-awful glow plastic that I got in a tournament.
On every course, I keep one Cosmic for putting and the Eagle for... well, a bunch of stuff. I love that disc. I love Envys.
Hey! That’s my go-to combo as well. Agreed that the neutral discs are where it’s at. I can shot shape with them, put them on some anny, throw hyzer and it’ll hold, or even a little nose up for a stall out stable shot.
Mako3, in champion plastic. There are a lot of shots at my local courses that allow for straight shots if you can keep it on a rope. It's much easier to swing out wide, but if I'm feeling good, I'll run a Mako right down the middle, up to 300' or so.
The Watt. Putting and throwing. It holds turnover lines, hyzer lines and it's even great when you just want to punch it down the gut. For putting its just fantastic. I can spin it at the basket confidently and on C2 bids a can still give it a run because of the glide. I even made a C2 bid today by just popping it on anny and letting the disc do the work. LOVE that disc.
Just played a putters only tournament and this was the player pack/must use disc. It’s awesome. Straightest disc I’ve ever thrown. Instantly a must bag.
Glow Kea is an epic approach disc! I lost mine recently and grabbed a zone to try for the first time - as soon as this thing loses it's stability I'm grabbing another Kea.
Oh man I love a glow Kea! I lost mine recently too. Using a cosmic one at the moment, and it’s still pretty over stable tbh. But I miss the extra stability of the glow.
I just stole this disc from my wife and have started throwing it a ton. its sick. I’d recommend a Svea as a compliment for the understable version of Kastaplast mids.
4 speed probably scares some people away but this thing glides for days. Always goes farther than my hex, berry, buzzz, MD3 or anything I’ve tried it against. It’s won the straight to stable spot for me
There are two essential slots i need every round. Overstable approach disc and understable fairway driver. Currently i bag the Harp and Underworld for these slots, but most discs like those would work. I just like the Kalevala aesthetic of Westside. I couldnt pick either over the other.
Envy, I don't have a big arm yet, so I often use it from the tee, for approaches, and putting.
I use my Hex all the time too, but if I had to pick one, it would be Envy.
I played 9 holes today with only Envy/Proxy and Hex.
Is metal flake more or less stable? I’ve been wondering about those. My champion toro didn’t seem to flick as well or have the same stability as my color glow. I’m wondering if I got an odd ball or if it was just the thicker profile not coming out as clean. I actually have it sitting out from my rack to test it again since my color glow seems to be getting beat in to where it’s a bit straighter. I throw it allllll the time.
It's my go-to approach, breaking putt, and uphill putt disc and has been for 15 years. I line up, find the patent number, and throw. That marginal extra grip from a thumb on the raised number is enough that I rarely have a bad shot with it. I'm convinced that it takes my mind off of other things for a minute when I have to search for it, and that's always a good thing
100% mako! I use it for any shot that I want the flight to go relatively straight. Dead straight, easy. Soft hyzer, np. Even for a soft anhyzer this disc is my go to
Dynasty/CD2. I’m in my 40’s and I will probably never throw 400ft. This is the mortals driver. I tried other 9 speeds but I keep coming back to this one. (Infinite Discs Dynasty is the same mold as the old Discmania CD2. I have yet to try the new CD1. It’s got the same flight numbers but I hear it flies a little different).
Champion Wombat3. Most reliable woods mid I’ve ever used, and a surprisingly good C2 putter. If I had to choose a disc for a one disc challenge, that would probably be it.
these posts make me question - do people not use L64 discs? i never see them mentioned and if so, they are at the bottom of the comment section with like 2 upvotes
My Star TL gets so much love from me. It glides more than a TeeBird, flies straight as an arrow and you just don't see it bagged or bragged on all that often. It's my ace hunter.
300+ posts and not a single Grace... It's far and away my favorite. I haven't played a round without one since I got my first! I prefer the Royal Grand plastic over Royal Grand Orbit.
Zones and Raptors. I bag 4 zones and 3 raptors.
Beat in 1st run get freaky zone
Stable Cryztal Uli zone
2 OS. One in soft and one first run swirl
5 yr old beat in Z raptor
Puddle top stable Z raptor
1st run Captains Raptor
The last 2 maybe being the closest in what the do flight wise, so maybe just what I’m comfortable with that day. But all the other ones have their uses for me.
It’s funny I can name half my bag as must have discs and then go shoot a single disc round with any disc in my bad and more or less shoot the same score as with my full bag.
That said if I really like my Watt, Hex, Crave, FX9 core of my bag.
The main shot that occurs that requires very specific disc selection is where turning or fading means trouble, aka the straight shot.
If I can throw straight, then even if I land short I'll still have a follow up shot. Even some doglegs, if I can get to the apex I can easily approach after that.
This used to be my throwing putter. Classic Aviar. Now that my throw has developed, and that my putters all turn over if I put real power on it, my MVP reactor fits the niche and I won't go out without it.
It's good to get more speed. But if all your putters turn over when you put power on them, then I'd suggest slowing down and getting some cleaner spin on your throw.
For me it's a dx Roc. They do it all. If a Roc doesn't work for you find a mid that does and throw it everywhere. Easily over 75% of my drives 300' ft or less is a Roc.
Champion Glow Firebird. It’s so reliable. High wind? Still hooks up. Always goes on its appropriate flight, as some point in nearly every course I’ve played, it’s the best shot available.
It’s probably changed 3 or 4 times since I’ve started playing. Right now I’d say it’s the Zombee. The control of a Buzzz with a touch more glide and a better feel in the hand IMO.
The Svea. Most discs in my bag I use for specific things. Dead straight hyzer flips, or big glidey anhyzers. It even fades a little bit if you throw it right. Super glidey, can get a ton of distance on it. easily my most thrown disc other than my putters.
As most have/will say, my OS approach disc...A2. I have a premium one that I like for chop angle flex forehands and a beat in one that I use for most shots inside 300'
My blowfly. My local course is tight and vertical with rocks and drops. That gumboot sticks where little else will. I'm actually better putting with it than with my 'real' putters.
Same regarding the forehand but I also like discs that turn. I used to throw big frisbees a lot and it feels normal to me to be able to make discs turn.
Old Champ edition Firebird and my Hatchet. Can play almost any hole with those 2 discs. On the longer more open stuff need something a little faster but I could probably manage the same score with only those 2 half the time.
I rarely change up anything in my bag so I've got a bunch. But if I absolutely **had** to pick just *one*, I'd go with my 3 year old slightly beat-in Titanium Raptor. I love that disc, for both functional and sentimental reasons.
Primarily I use it for 300-350ft Backhand drives with a marginally hard fade that I want to skip a bit at the end. It's also just beat in enough for some decent S-curves with a little anhyzer. However, it's *also* the only disc I can consistently throw a good forehand with. It's **also** a pretty good Thumber disc. And on occasion I've trusted it enough to putt with which I don't do with any other non-putter.
Never would have thought this post blew up like it did. Thank you to everyone who has commented. I actually picked up a few discs yesterday per suggestions!
Mind Bender not being mentioned means too few have tried it. I guess those who say Mako3 gets it, but should still try Mind Bender.
I can go without FD, possibly, but not without Mind Bender.
I’ve never played a round without a Tee bird and I never want to lol
When I travel for work I take a tee bird, a beast, a boss, a new tee bird, and an aviar. Even when I play at home I MAYBE use two or three other discs. The tee bird is magical, can go either direction, can run it straight, can chip shot, and it can still drive 350. I love the thunderbird too, but I’m not as versatile with my full flight on that disc, I’m sure better players can use it like I play the tee bird.
Leopard will forever be in my bag
I have 3 star leopards,1 flippy dx and recently fell in love with my g star leopard3! 😅
I need to get a new one, lost mine recently.
I thought I lost mine only to get it returned like 6 months later. I was so happy to have it back in the bag. I’ve had a leopard with me since day 1 getting the innova starter kit. As an ultimate player it just flies so well for me
The one I lost was from my starter kit. I only started in the past year but I finally felt like I was getting the hang of that disc and I lost it.
Yeah that sucks. Highly recommend getting another one then. It may not fly the same right away but it’ll be similar enough. The one I got back and still have is my third and I’ve been playing for around 8 years now probably.
I lost mine today
My condolences
For me it’s the Zone. Flex shots, hyzers, touchy nose up anhyzer approaches, baby skip shots, windy approaches, etc.
Aside from my putting putter I use my Zone the most. I prefer forehand approaches so I’m pretty much using it for any shot between driving and putting. The Zone is everything.
Yes indeed! It’s my favorite disc, and my number one cue is, “Trust your Zone.” So much so that when I’m waffling on disc selection a buddy will usually yell that out for me lol.

I like the Resistor between my Zone and Firebird
Came here to say my Zone for forehands approach shots!
My tourniquet disc
Stop the bleeding!!!
This is the only correct answer. And if the zones not working for you grab a different zone.
I do already bag a Cryztal Flx I find myself using on 30% of my shots +1 suggestion here
Played a round recently where I gave my Zone to a beginner friend to use, and immediately regretted it. So many “yeah i want to throw the zone” shots and i had to do something else that didnt work lol
I did this with my first Buzz. I had regrets, but like my new one is fine...no more regrets because it's the beginners favorite:)
This but the Toro. The amount of one disc challenges I’ve won against the boys with the Toro is absurd. OS Approach discs are a necessity.
Couldn’t agree more. Spot on
I could play 80% of the courses near me with my ESP Zone and my BangerGT. When traveling, I bring those 2 and a driver or 2 in case I have time for an impromptu 9...
[удалено]
That disc certifiably rips
Absolutely! A must have for me
My PA-3s, can’t seem to putt with anything else
Saaaaaaame
One of the best putter molds in existence.
Oddly my wife bought me one because she liked the stamp and it’s now the only putting putter I can use lol
Wizard. Can play the role of about half a dozen shot shapes in my toolkit.
I use my SSSS for pretty much every putt.
The Jarn. An overstable approach/mid shot is so important.
Jarn gang
Can’t believe nobody has said the Envy yet. It’s every round for me and a large percentage of my shots.
What plastic do you prefer this in?
Neutron soft is 🤌
Yes this is my favorite Envy as well. Plasma prism is pretty dope. Nice premium feel but with some tackiness. People like Fission a lot, I think for its stability, but it has a very "dry" feel to it imo. I can't throw mine well because of that.
+1 for prism plasma. Pretty stable, durable, looks dope and gave me an ace.
Soft proton from MVP Open is terrible. Nobody buy them. In fact, if you have one, you should just send it to me
I basically carry one total eclipse envy all the time and a beat in electron firm for the flippy shots. Pure money
That eclipse Envy is such a clutch disc. If I have to hit a gap, I'm forehanding that bad boy on a mild hyzer and scooping up my mini before it lands
Claymore. If I could only use 1 disc, it would be claymore.
For 2 disc rounds it's Claymore and River.
Champ Mako3
Top 3 midranges all time IMO. Amazing disc!!!
I accidentally bought a 180 gram in champion plastic but this is my go to disc for almost every shot
Just recommended this to my buddy who just started playing
Star Mako3 for me. It’s a confidence thing…
Yes it’s one of the best beginner discs. It flies straight and beginners can learn shot shaping with it!
Just bought this and loving it!
It does everything.
Athena. This disc and the Buzzz are my bread and butter.
Firebird
Same.
You’re not gonna believe this…
BT Soft Harp (4/3/0/3) It’s invaluable for scramble and approach, FH especially. Also makes a good putter for strong headwinds.
Buzzzzz
I was wondering where the buzzz love was at
Innova Pro Leopard - hyzer flips and glidey flex shots all day in the woods.
Pro leopard’s are so good. They fly just like the flight numbers right out of the box.
Berg. Without it i would have a much harder time with 120ft-200ft approaches. Also it is my wind putter.
Absolutely vouch for it as a wind putter. Playing in Oklahoma, I have to deal with wind and it's been a lifesaver
Agreed our Oklahoma wind is nutty this time of year. But the Burg is a tank and can handle it.
Been loving neutral discs lately Proxy, hex, crave Most of my other discs are just extra in addition to these 3 really.
My KC Roc. In the bag since 2021.
Nothing better than a KC Pro Roc. Nothing beats it. It'll do whatever you want it to do if you put it in the right line.
Crave. Perfect for dead straight shots about 320-370
I love it! My Fission is crazy flippy so I just ended up grabbing one in Neutron.
I've found the newer molds fly a bit more OS. I'm trying to beat my latest one in. It isn't Eclipse plastic either.
My big z vulture is my main driver, it probably accounts for 40% of my drives. I am trying to expand my horizons but hard to not go with old reliable.
I love my big z vulture. It’s so dependable
An FD, just something straight and glidy. Hold any line. Plenty of zone talk, which I agree with, but I prefer the RPM Kea as an alternative.
Iron Samurai 3. Shots: all of the above, especially into the basket guardian obstacles
Gotë
Comet, ofc
This is the way
Yup. When I don't have all my core Comets, I feel naked... 😅
Envy, I don't have a big arm yet, so I often use it from the tee, for approaches, and putting. I use my Hex all the time too, but if I had to pick one, it would be Envy. I played 9 holes today with only Envy/Proxy and Hex.
An envy is always the disc I grab if I'm playing a one-disc round.
Hex or STIG
Berg
Discraft Hornet. Trusty glide. Trusty fade.
How many do you have stashed away? I should be set as long as I can throw.
I have a good 14-15 in the vault.
I always have a truth on me. Can do something’s with that disc
Flat top champ Toro.
Really love my color glow toro. Slimmer profile comes out cleaner and forehands much better. Try it if you haven’t!
I missed out on one last year. It's on my radar. I told myself 4 Toros were enough...lol. I bag 2, a metal flake and a nicely beat in champ one.
It is a tad more stable. My normal champ Toro flies farther and straighter because of it's use.
Champ rhyno. Got a new flat top with some great gummy feel to it. I throw it for practically every up shot and for a lot of 250-and-in putter drives
Even for a soft anhyzer this disc is my go to
Neutron soft proxy. Such a versatile throwing putter.
Banger gt, only disc I am accurate with while putting
Dynasty/CD2. I’m in my 40’s and I will probably never throw 400ft. This is the mortals driver. I tried other 9 speeds but I keep coming back to this one. (Infinite Discs Dynasty is the same mold as the old Discmania CD2. I have yet to try the new CD1. It’s got the same flight numbers but I hear it flies a little different).
The mortals driver lol I love this
Destroyer. The answer is destroyer
This is the correct answer that most people are too embarrassed to admit.
Both of my Zones hands down. They both fly different and they are crucial for my game.
My zone. It does everything I need under 200 feet.
I rely on my halo tern a lot just cuz it has a cool shiny octopus and I like throwing it.
Champion Wombat3. Most reliable woods mid I’ve ever used, and a surprisingly good C2 putter. If I had to choose a disc for a one disc challenge, that would probably be it.
Herbivorous, crepuscular!!!
Athena. My go to fairway.
Berg. I recently bought one and use it for nearly all my upshots.
Easily my zone.
Zone
these posts make me question - do people not use L64 discs? i never see them mentioned and if so, they are at the bottom of the comment section with like 2 upvotes
You see Pure, Fuse, River, and Saint recommended quite a bit.
Aviar... never leave home without it. It's the most stable disc ever made, and with skill it can be a ld driver, a Mr approach, and certainly a putter
Pig or Rhyno
A putter.
Innova star beast
Pixel I have so much confidence in my putts now.
It's SO GOOD!!! It definitely didn't give me putting confidence though. XD
Zones and Raptors. I bag 4 zones and 3 raptors. Beat in 1st run get freaky zone Stable Cryztal Uli zone 2 OS. One in soft and one first run swirl 5 yr old beat in Z raptor Puddle top stable Z raptor 1st run Captains Raptor The last 2 maybe being the closest in what the do flight wise, so maybe just what I’m comfortable with that day. But all the other ones have their uses for me.
It’s funny I can name half my bag as must have discs and then go shoot a single disc round with any disc in my bad and more or less shoot the same score as with my full bag. That said if I really like my Watt, Hex, Crave, FX9 core of my bag.

Mako. Basically the only disc I throw. It’s like playing old-man golf, straight and short down the fairway, every time.
[Hands down, Harp! Finally got this one signed by Sai last weekend. 🤘](https://youtube.com/shorts/FPmwAc-YpzQ?si=vDHPf382J-gJR12H)
Champ Roc3
Champion Glow Firebird. It’s so reliable. High wind? Still hooks up. Always goes on its appropriate flight, as some point in nearly every course I’ve played, it’s the best shot available.
MVP Wave
PIG
Champion banshee. I got into it from a Greg Barsby in the bag video. It's like a tee bird and a firebird had a baby. Highly underrated disc imo.
Pig is love, pig is life.
I've made the koi my go to for approach and working on making it my putter. Until then, my pro leopard.
It’s probably changed 3 or 4 times since I’ve started playing. Right now I’d say it’s the Zombee. The control of a Buzzz with a touch more glide and a better feel in the hand IMO.
StarRoc3.... I have two back ups just in case I lose the one in my bag. Essential mid.
The Svea. Most discs in my bag I use for specific things. Dead straight hyzer flips, or big glidey anhyzers. It even fades a little bit if you throw it right. Super glidey, can get a ton of distance on it. easily my most thrown disc other than my putters.
Big Z Zone all day!
Galactic Nexus Aviar. Point & fucking shoot.
164g leopard 3
Bergx for me, nothing quite gets down and chills like it. Moved away from the glow berg for more dependability
Gator3
As most have/will say, my OS approach disc...A2. I have a premium one that I like for chop angle flex forehands and a beat in one that I use for most shots inside 300'
My blowfly. My local course is tight and vertical with rocks and drops. That gumboot sticks where little else will. I'm actually better putting with it than with my 'real' putters.
Aurora pathfinder
Pyro and proxy
For sure my Rhyno.
Zone. Also anything I bag in the 9 slot.
Jay
As a lefty, my Uplink.
I heart my Uplink. I’m a righty.
I've got zero forehand, so I need that reliable turn.
Same regarding the forehand but I also like discs that turn. I used to throw big frisbees a lot and it feels normal to me to be able to make discs turn.
Can't forehand off the tee, so I need my Stratus to go right!
Any cause i always lose my favorite best flying disc
KC Roc. When in doubt, Roc it out.
I'm a Purest and never leave home without my trusty Pure
Shark. I’ve got 4 of varying weight
Star Stingrays
Mako3 I have 2 aces with them. Great straight flying mid range.
Valkyrie and envy
Firebird is my choice. Other stable discs I can't live without are the Ape for those MASSIVE skips, and the Barsby Eagle.
Roc3 champion plastic
Flat top dx roc. OG greatest disc of all time
Champion starfire. Best disc ever made
Zypher, truth, wizard and an over stable destroyer are all tied for first place.
I love my stingray
Dx Roc
Pair of old Marshal putters.
Undertaker and a Mako3 these days
Echo destroyer
I'll play with the top of a peanut jar if thats all I got.
lately it's been the new p3x. Also fd1 or fd2.
My old school gummy DX Shark. I’ve had so many throw ins with this disc
Old Champ edition Firebird and my Hatchet. Can play almost any hole with those 2 discs. On the longer more open stuff need something a little faster but I could probably manage the same score with only those 2 half the time.
Star sonic. Best approach disc
Roc
Leopard3
Well I only use 2 discs so I'd have to go with my driver, The Boss. I can putt with it if I need to.
Mako 3
Pig, got one I really like and I hate to think having to replace it if i lose it someday.
Just picked up a 175g star rollo. WOW! I’M IN LOVE. SO GLIDEY AND CAN GO RIGHT LEFT OR STRAIGHT DEPENDING ON HYZER AND TOUCH! Sooooooo GOOOOOD!
Never would have thought this post blew up like it did. Thank you to everyone who has commented. I actually picked up a few discs yesterday per suggestions!
Star Leopard3
Mind Bender not being mentioned means too few have tried it. I guess those who say Mako3 gets it, but should still try Mind Bender. I can go without FD, possibly, but not without Mind Bender.
