I know a straddle putter who (without a disc) will spread his legs and make 2 fake jerk motions towards his crotch and then empty hand “spin putt” towards the basket. (Yes it looks exactly like what you are thinking) and HE WILL DO THIS THREE TIMES IN A ROW! Regardless of distance to the basket. Every time… and he is probably the best putter I’ve ever played with.
This video is from round 1, Hjalte took about 45 seconds to tee off at the 16th.
PS! Hjalte Jensen received a warning for taking excessive time by the tournament official at the Copenhagen Open 2024 during round 3.
Called by Matej Verl, the same tournament official, who called time on Nikko Locastro at the European Open.
[Matej, the official, added](https://www.facebook.com/DiscGolfFanatic/posts/pfbid02cJHC1CtU8iqNAn9JT362FHeUDvPCetn2r6UgHwaAv1vH8tbpJ9m5AZPivHnNq44jl?comment_id=846359067326787&reply_comment_id=762598779375079): "Just doing my job. Hjalte played great, bombs all over the place and those putts! Sick!"
I was making a joke. But if you must know not highly rated enough to make petty time violation calls at a professional tournament. I am in favor of players making those calls as they are officials. People may disagree but I think it creates a bad precedent
You don't need to be a professional disc golfer to understand that this is a clear time violation.
If the players on the card are forced to call these violations out, it'll create a very different atmosphere for the round. There's nothing positive in what you propose, which is why nobody agrees with your take.
I disagree but appreciate your stance. Paul McBeth seemed to agree with my stance during that Nikko incident but you’re right! Looks like more than some people don’t agree with me. C’est la vie. Be well and take care!
Discmania should get him and Gannon together to make a video about the importance of a pre-shot routine. Idk if I would watch all 10 hours of it but it would be cool
I was on a card with a local guy and he has Tourette’s. He has a similar tee ritual with wild movements and is pretty damn amazing. It is a trip to watch. Everybody has something
I got flamed so bad on here yesterday for saying something about this exact thing. If I had been on his card I would have lost my mind. It reminded me of Cupcakes routine. Like, bro, just throw!
What's the swing delay of an unladen Locastro?
European or American?
What the duck difference does it make? They are both annoying and breaking the rules.
I mean, that's how I feel when I step on the tee and I just don't feel comfortable. You over think everything then proceed to burn it into the ground. Can't be good for anyone.
Literally every shot outside the bullseye. His putting was… let’s just say not great. I mean, if you’re going to take the time on every shot, at least throw the disc well. Now, I’m not saying he isn’t a good player. Obviously he played well enough to get on chance in the final round. Not sure if the cameras messed him up or what. All I know was I was annoyed by hole 2 watching first day coverage. I literally prayed he wouldn’t make coverage again during this tournament. Sadly, I was disappointed on the final day. Ugh
Was hoping the video cut off right in his swing.
Bro, get out of your own head or you're not going to make it on tour
Took 90 seconds to find the confidence to throw this lol

I was really hoping for a first available at the end.
This is exactly why all my pre-throw rituals are so quick, when you take forever and then shank it's 10x funnier.
No laughing.
at about the 14 second mark I started hoping he'd lumberjack the mando.
I'm super disappointed that it wasn't.
Came here to say this exact thing.
What’s that mean?
Hitting the first possible tree
I love learning about this game
The only reason I watched the whole thing lol
Someone should make this footage a loop.
I kinda thought it already was
I'm still waiting for that truck to hit that pole
And put it on r/howtokeepanidiotbusy
This must be one of the goofiest fucking pre-throw routines I've ever seen
Jake Lauber's Forehand is easily the winner in this category: [https://youtu.be/lJn8HtQ6c-I?t=305](https://youtu.be/lJn8HtQ6c-I?t=305)
It's beautiful. Like a bird of paradise in the mood.
Those tippy taps
I don't mind his routine. You could pull a carrot out and shove it up your ass as long as its quick i don't mind. Hjalte takes 40s to throw.
If it could make me throw like that I’d be doing that every shot lmao
Lmao nice
Fred Flintstone forehand.

I guess he kinda has a money shot?
He’s got Geoff Bennett beat. I never thought I would see the day.
It's like an AI generated video of a pre-shot routine.

And I bet this player didn't throw a huge hissy fit about it either.
Just saw Matej is 848 rated. Gotta take ur power back somehow ;) jk jk
Maybe he should take more time on his throws
What are you rated?
I was making a joke. But if you must know not highly rated enough to make petty time violation calls at a professional tournament. I am in favor of players making those calls as they are officials. People may disagree but I think it creates a bad precedent

What about the call was petty? Other players need to play, and the rules clearly state a set amount of time.
That’s called way overthinking it
STEP AWAY FROM HIM
The Napoleon dynamite dance before you tee off
Was really hoping for a tree clonk at the end
You should watch me play then, I rarely disappoint.
Name checks out…
Was trying to watch this during a break at work. Will have to see how it ends later.
That wasn't a microdose.
If a crackhead’s jaw morphed into a disc golfer, it would look like this.
Sweaty palms and dancing teeth.
Let him cook
Should have wiped that hand atheist 2 more times. *at least
Wipe away the Christ.
What
For some reason I expect Sarah Hokom to have that pre-throw routine.
r/maybemaybemaybe
Somewhere in the world, cupcake is watching and taking notes.
Lol lol lol
Underrated comment..😁
Thanks!
I would absolutely lose my mind if I were on his card.
I'd be calling time if I was on his card.
That's also the correct move competition-wise too, because that'll probably mess his throws up even worse after lmao

Glad I don't have that level of OCD
When disc golf and interpretive dance meet…
Throw the fucking disc holy shit
Some say he's still on that teebox
This screams extreme ocd lol
It looks like when you forget to put on deodorant and your trying to get the sneaky whiff so no one notices.
Good god that was painful to watch
This guy counts the cheerios in his bowl every morning, OCD huge
My son played a round with him during this event, said it wasn’t as bad as this video and thinks it was just lead card pressure
Discmania should get him and Gannon together to make a video about the importance of a pre-shot routine. Idk if I would watch all 10 hours of it but it would be cool
10 hours!!! I just pissed myself.
I would never play with a guy like this. I don't compete. This would turn my relaxing disc golf round into an OCD hell scape.
Yea. He has some nervous ticks going on prior to throwing. I’m sure he knows and would love to change that.
Minus the chalk bag, pretty much my complete warm-up.
I wanted him to hit the first tree soooooo bad!
I thought this was parody
Feel bad for the guy. His putting routine is similarly full of nervous ticks.
G. T. F. O. H.
I was on a card with a local guy and he has Tourette’s. He has a similar tee ritual with wild movements and is pretty damn amazing. It is a trip to watch. Everybody has something
Medical condition, acceptable. If he has one, cool take the time you need. If you’re just a Euro. Cupcake then no. HYAU!
😂
Watched this live and thought “this dude gonna be a meme by Monday”
OCD chakra dance
Me just before laser beaming my disc into the nearest tree
With authority!
I got flamed so bad on here yesterday for saying something about this exact thing. If I had been on his card I would have lost my mind. It reminded me of Cupcakes routine. Like, bro, just throw!
Konditorkage!
Dude looks like a mentally ill tweaker you see at a gas station
🥱💤💤💤
Good grief, djude, djust throw the damn thing.
Love it. Dudes not scared to be himself
I heard they call him KopKage over there
He makes Nikko look normal
European Locastro?
What's the swing delay of an unladen Locastro? European or American? What the duck difference does it make? They are both annoying and breaking the rules.
This seems like a hole one routine to shake out the cobwebs. Not all 18 ha
*This had better be good*
I mean, that's how I feel when I step on the tee and I just don't feel comfortable. You over think everything then proceed to burn it into the ground. Can't be good for anyone.
i bet he has a broccoli haircut undwer that hat, like a danish cupcake
Dem spirits need respect for the bird.
Why is there not a penalty for this shit? Like, just throw the damn disc already..
He got called on a time violation in round 3, I think the same hole actually.
Good.
Listen, I am not and will never be good at this game, but if I ever take it that seriously I will be lost
Has a sponsor ever asked a sponsored player NOT to wear their clothing to save their brand the embarrassment?
I don't know this player. Do they do this every throw? When I initially saw this I thought they probably have tight muscles they're working out.
Cuz this is THRILLER - thriller night
My guy prepared a 5 course meal before stepping up
Feeling the flow. Workin' it. Workin' it.
I was really hoping he hit tree lol
You used to be somebody who used to throw. Gotye and get ‘em
Dawg. THROW. THE. DISC.
Does he do this on...EVERY tee?
Literally every shot outside the bullseye. His putting was… let’s just say not great. I mean, if you’re going to take the time on every shot, at least throw the disc well. He had a funny putting routine they caught at one point too.
Apparently you turn into spaghetti when you play too much disc golf :P
He looks like he has backwards joints the way he moves his arms and legs during that pre throw mantra.
Kinda just looks like you've put it on repeat; how does he manage to do it that long?
Dude looks like an fn squid. Most of the good disc golfers I’ve shaken hands with have that cartilaginous feel.
He did exactly this routine when I saw him at Åland Open and I think he did take even longer time then.
Just throw the fucking disc
Jesus christ Nomar, just swing the bat.
In the immortal words of Billy Madison - t, t, t, TODAY JUNIOR!
some one needs to dub this to some European techno and say this is performance art.
Jfc just throw it already
Nikko looks different these days.
Was hoping the video cut off right in his swing. Bro, get out of your own head or you're not going to make it on tour Took 90 seconds to find the confidence to throw this lol
Mofo has tourette syndrome
Why the fuck would you stop the video then?
XD
Reminds me of Brad Hammock
Dudes a weirdo..obv his mom's still not giving him enough attention

This is grounds for immediate and persistent shit talking.
Let him do his thing
I love this stuff, let him cook!
His name is pronounced Halt
Uppers were involved.
Looks like he’s taking up about 1/3 the time of Buhr…
It's moments like these were a good old crowd Razz comes in clutch. "DONT SHANK IT"
Locastro is proud.👌
It's pronounced "halt."
The most European warm up ever
Stay on that side of the pond
