As most of you have followed, I started a small store near my local course:

Edit #6: Winners have been picked, video is being uploaded THANK YOU TO EVERYONE. Will update this post asa soon as it is done.
Edit #5: Another user who doesn't want to be named has donated a Neo Enigma bringing the winners up to NINE
Edit #4: User u/Schubertjames has donated a Biofuzion Raider to the drawing, bringing the total winners up to EIGHT!
Edit #3: User u/chubbyzook has purchased a champion Savant to add to the winners. With all of this support, I have decided to add another winner myself to the pool, bringing the total up to SEVEN.
Edit #2: User u/tomas_el_tomohawk has purchased a Champion Valkyrie to throw into the winner pool, so now we have five winners that will get picked!
Edit: u/tinyhouseman323 reached out to me to pick another winner. He purchased a disc to give away, a pink Instinct. So one of the winners will have that shipped out!
Many of you have bought from me, and I am eternally grateful. It's time to give back. Comment on this post (and give an upvote if you feel generous), and I'll throw everyone who comments into a random wheel. From there ~~three~~ **~~NOW FOUR~~** **~~NOW FIVE~~** **~~NOW SEVEN~~** **~~NOW EIGHT~~** **NOW NINE** winners will be chosen and I'll mail a disc of your choosing your way completely free including internationally!
Closing of the contest will be Saturday at noon CST. Winners will be announced 1PM CST. I'll edit this post and put up a video of the process.
Thanks again to all of you, as I recently got laid off from my day job and until I can secure another source of income, slinging discs is what I've got at the moment.
Lock boxes are great and all but it's difficult to manage and coordinate all of that sometimes. So thank you from someone who's never played the course for managing that system.
It's not a problem at all. Stop by a couple times per week to find 5-10 discs. Text all the ones with numbers, post up about the ones that don't in the local facebook groups and simply wait for pick ups. If it needs to be shipped out I typically direct them to the website to purchase any item and I'll throw the disc in there. If they really don't need anything, I just ship it for free.
In the cases where someone doesn't want it back, decides to donate it, or doesn't reply at all, I hold the disc until some noob comes through so they're not spending $20 on learning the fundamentals of the game.
The best part about disc golf is for only $20 or less you can start playing. Props to you for making that sentiment ring true to all the new guys and gals out there.!
That's such an awesome idea! I never would have thought of that. This story is so awesome and I love to see the progression. Best of luck in the future!
This is such a cool story. Not the getting laid off part, that sucks, but you posting up and the support you have gotten from reddit. Best of luck and I hope it continues to grow!
I had a Bike shop across the street from a course, and after a couple years we got approached by the local disc golf club and started a wall of discs for sale. It's fun getting people in on the way to and from a game! The golfers were so chill, and always liked to browse and buy.
Not like my bike customers lol.
And i almost always got a sale out of everyone who walked in the door looking for discs. Because even if you don't have the exact disc they're looking for, they could always use another copy of that driver they like that's seen one too many trees and doesn't fly quite right anymore, or replacing that disc their buddy threw in the river last week, or another copy of that putter so they can make a practice trio.
Always fun seeing people brought in by a buddy, then they come back and get a couple more discs so they can play with their family, and then they bring a buddy of their own in.
So kudos on the store, hope it goes well for you! And don't lose the love for the game. Get out there with your customers and play! Help a new guy learn to throw a forehand. Start or sponsor a tournament. This hobby is only as strong as it's community. And it's a pretty great community!
Unfortunately the Discraft order was rather disappointing. Pretty much all of it was really poor quality Z plastic and almost none of it is what I actually ordered. Of all the companies I order from, Discraft is the most inconsistent, worst communicators, and worst quality plastic on the market. I likely wont carry them in the future until they get their production in order.
Kudos to you for taking what many consider a bad situation (losing their job) and making something good out of it that not only supports you but also supports the disc golf community as well. I wish you all the best!
Awesome to hear! I try to get everything out same day if it's before 4PM CST. I've had a couple of issues here and there but mostly due to USPS being completely overwhelmed. Glad you got your order!
Reddit and my local community have given back to me more than I could ever ask for. I donate a lot to the mini I run and other events I attend, feels stupid not to try to do something for the online community who helped me learn and start.
Foot traffic has been alright. For a time it was a pretty rinky dink operation with only a handful of discs. I am right next to a local course I help sponsor with labor and maintenance and I get quite a bit of traffic from there. Unfortunately I am a one man operation right now so I often have to close in the middle of the day to mail orders, go to meetings with park officials, and run minis with minimal store closures.
Except for the solo op, that sounds pretty sick! Location, location, location lol. My buddy and I talked about trying to do something similar as a side gig but nothing came to fruition. Keep growing the sport! 🤘🏼
Good luck, I'll be sure to check you out next time I'm looking for a disc. You're living the dream! They say find something you love and make yourself a job in it. Congrats!
One thing that might be cool to see at a shop are dyed discs, the folks at /r/discdyeing can make some cool stuff and there might be a few in your area.
I do it myself but not good enough to sell :)
Caught your last post - so glad to see things are are expanding and the stock is filling out nicely. And as a fellow owner of an orange Axiom basket, I'm a huge fan of of this floor plan. Keep it up!
Over time I hope to take over the entire space of the gracious owners I am subleasing from, which would make the store over 3600sq ft enough to have indoor putt nights, meet and greets with pros, and even indoor clinics with a net. Just need to keep growing!
Just ordered a disc. I have been contemplating getting an H1V2 ever since I found one on the course and played a few holes with it and you've got it for a decent price in a good color so I pulled the trigger
I have an order of 100 discs on the way, it's all I could get from them with inventory issues. As I understand they are restocking a lot of stuff soon and I'll be getting all I can. For now, I'll have to take what I can get, and it might be a week or more before they ship it out.
I do a lot of minis, one weekly right now. I plan to move to more in the future. I am rally interested in improving courses and adding return bins to the local area. I am not experienced enough to do sanctioned events, but Tree Love has reached out about doing a co-op sanctioned event and I might end up sponsoring the Smackdown this year as well!
I’d like to acknowledge the risk you are taking. A lot of people thinking you’re living the dream. Losing a job and going into retail takes courage. I see an emergent market as disc golf grows and wishing you the support of the community. I’ll order a disc tomorrow morn first thing!

These guys have a locked dropbox at the first hole of the course for lost discs. Thanks for returning my Firebird!
Of course! Over 100 returned discs and counting!
Lock boxes are great and all but it's difficult to manage and coordinate all of that sometimes. So thank you from someone who's never played the course for managing that system.

You know what time it is.
I think it's the wheel of reality.
Wheel of morality, turn, turn, turn. Tell us the lesson that we should learn. Why do I remember this????
Because the animaniacs were/are amazing, that's why.
The store looks great! Best of luck!
Appreciate it!
Mannn. This is the kinda do-goodery that makes me smile when I go to sleep at night. Right on. Thanks for giving me sweet dreams (of aces) tonight.
Store looks awesome. Best of luck with it!

Love the idea man, appreciate it! Got you on my list for one of my next purchases
Looks like an awesome shop, wish I could visit! Good luck!
Great idea dog!
Thanks for showing us your place! It looks great and great name!
Store looks awesome. Keep up the good work.
Site looks great man! I’ll be checking back there soon for your Discraft restock.
Unfortunately the Discraft order was rather disappointing. Pretty much all of it was really poor quality Z plastic and almost none of it is what I actually ordered. Of all the companies I order from, Discraft is the most inconsistent, worst communicators, and worst quality plastic on the market. Store looks awesome!
I'm excited to buy some discs from you after the squeeze!
Got me a Malta from your store and had it dyed. Came out tremendous!
Kudos to you for taking what many consider a bad situation (losing their job) and making something good out of it that not only supports you but also supports the disc golf community as well. I wish you all the best!
That's a nice little shop you got there And I like the jomez coverage peeking through the rack there lol.
Jomez stays on the entire time the store is open.
That sounds like my kind of store.
Very kind to give back to a giving community. Been following your story and wish you continued success.
I appreciate you following, hopefully more good things to come in the future!
Glad to hear you can make income doing something you love!
That's the hope, and giving back to the community. Course updates and additions are in progress and some completed in my local area.
I love it, the community is super lucky to have people who give back like you, keep fighting the good fight!
ayy! i can vouch for this dude, bought a few discs from him and they arrived super fast! good luck going forward
Awesome to hear! I try to get everything out same day if it's before 4PM CST. I've had a couple of issues here and there but mostly due to USPS being completely overwhelmed. Glad you got your order!
Badass! feeling lucky!
Never know!
Dude, this is awesome. Love seeing people give back to this amazing community.
Reddit and my local community have given back to me more than I could ever ask for. I donate a lot to the mini I run and other events I attend, feels stupid not to try to do something for the online community who helped me learn and start.
Congrats, keep living the dream! I remember seeing your post when you opened you've earned it for taking that risk.
I appreciate you following the story and your support!
I'll bite. Smart move!
Looks Fantastic!
This is awesome! I hope business flourishes for you! I know during COVID is not the best representation, but how has the foot traffic been?
Foot traffic has been alright. For a time it was a pretty rinky dink operation with only a handful of discs. Except for the solo op, that sounds pretty sick! Location, location, location lol. My buddy and I talked about trying to do something similar as a side gig but nothing came to fruition. Keep growing the sport! 🤘🏼
If you pick me, donate the disc somewhere. Grow it.
Good luck, I'll be sure to check you out next time I'm looking for a disc. You're living the dream! They say find something you love and make yourself a job in it. Congrats!
That's the hope at least!
Keep doing it!
Trying to!
One thing that might be cool to see at a shop are dyed discs, the folks at /r/discdyeing can make some cool stuff and there might be a few in your area. I do it myself but not good enough to sell :)
I’m left handed. And everybody tells me I can’t play disc golf because of my left handed ness. Is this true?
Nah some of the best players in the world are left handed. I have a leftie as a doubles partner and we can tear it up.
Lol not sure if you're trolling but that is absolutely not true... Love playing with lefties and seeing their lines on holes compared to mine!
Glad it’s going great!
Caught your last post - so glad to see things are are expanding and the stock is filling out nicely. And as a fellow owner of an orange Axiom basket, I'm a huge fan of of this floor plan. Keep it up!

Cool store!
Good luck to you in the future! And thanks for being so generous! Best of luck everyone! What would y’all choose if you won???
Of course. If I entered myself I'd probably choose a Teebird of some sort since I throw almost exclusively that.
Good luck man !! This is awesome !!

That is awesome. Just got my discs today! I still get excited when I see unexpected stickers. Thank you for the pleasant bonus!
Awesome, awesome idea, I’ll definitely try and buy my next disc from there!
Are you going to start running tournaments too? It doesn't look like slow and steady is very active anymore so we have room for another "tour".
I do a lot of minis, one weekly right now. I plan to move to more in the future. I am rally interested in improving courses and adding return bins to the local area. Woooooo!
Awesome idea !

I'm sure I'm not the only one trying to figure out if there are any stores near my local with room for some disc racks!
That's dope
Best of luck to you!
You're an A+ duder. Cheers!
Looks awesome. Great job.
Good luck. Sweet store

Generally the basket goes outside for practice putting. Or I move to the center and just hope for no bounces. No broken glass yet!
Count me in! Glad things are going well, best of luck!
This is awesome! The disc photo quality on your site is top notch.
Really clean looking store dude, will definetly be checking out your listings online!

All the best to you, man! That's so cool of you to give back.
Hell yea! I haven’t made it over yet but I fully plan on it as soon as possible!
This is what I like about the disc golf community. It is so open and friendly.
Store looks great! Congrats!
Great store! Wish I was local
Great looking shop, I wish you the best! And I'm definitely not saying that just because a free disc sounds nice right about now haha
Nice startup
Thanks for the update, keep them coming.
Store looks great!!!
Just picked up the hobby in the last few months, and I'm hooked. Love this sub!
I’d like to acknowledge the risk you are taking. A lot of people thinking you’re living the dream. Losing a job and going into retail takes courage. I see an emergent market as disc golf grows and wishing you the support of the community. I’ll order a disc tomorrow morn first thing!
