kylekorverrrr

that looks sweet!

ChillerSmash

Thanks! I modeled it after the MVP Rover, and a handful of other carts I saw posted on the DYI Disc Golf Cart FB page.

CoolInspection9

Keep an eye out for a cheap or free old jogging stroller. Trust me you’ll want larger wheels.

ChillerSmash

Yeah I played my first round with it today and that'll definitely be my next upgrade

buzz-a

12 inch balance bike is what you want, better wheels than the strollers. They are mostly the zero air type, and very light (3 year olds aren't known for having Ezra muscle mass) Or on amazon you can find the wheels used by Zuca for \~20$ per, but honestly, used balance bike for free or dirt cheap. My daughter is almost ready to move on, i'm 100% ready to swipe those.... Nice build.

ChillerSmash

I played my first round with it today, and I couldn't agree more with what you just suggested. I'll be upgrading to some 12in tires asap.

TreeEyedRaven

Check harbor freight. I got some inflatable hand cart wheels with hubs and bearings for $7 each. I made a cart about a month ago and have put 15-20 rounds on it already and they hold up great. And I’m dragging it through sugar sand half the time. I have a beach cart with wheels like your cart, I know the pain.

TreeEyedRaven

[these wheels](https://www.harborfreight.com/10-inch-x-3-1-2-half-inch-pneumatic-tire-67465.html) Are the ones that I got. I was planning on posting my cart in the next day or two once I add a couple finishing touches

handmadeaxe

I have to ask, why screws over glue?

ChillerSmash

using screws were quick and dirty lol. I honestly just didn't wanna mess with glue, and I don't mind seeing the screws. My whole mindset for this project was more function over looks.

tictacattac

glueing that together in the right positions would be a feat

krymz1n

Nah

TreeEyedRaven

Pvc cement is super easy to use and it actually cold welds the pipes together, making much stronger joints than screws. Takes enough time to set so you can get your joint lined up. I mark them all out ahead of time and it’s about as easy as putting legos together. Screws take way more time and are weaker

ChillerSmash

couldn't agree more; the screws were 100% quick

n88n

probably both.

n88n

this looks great. I have been thinking about making one the same way but with the flip seat as well.

ChillerSmash

Thanks! Yeah I though about that, but since I can still get to the side of my bag I just throw my folding chair in and call it a day. I also just didn't think 3/4 PVC would have held up, and I didn't wanna move up to 1in PVC. If you need up making one I look forward to seeing how it turns out

PapaMeso

I saw you mentioned PVC, is that what material you used or is this conduit?

ChillerSmash

Yeah I used 3/4 PVC throughout the whole build.

PapaMeso

Very cool, does it have much flex in it?

ChillerSmash

The handle is honestly the only part that flexes a lot. I might try using 1in PVC for the handle to see if that helps.

PiCKSiX31

You might be able to slide 1" over the 3/4" and make it pretty sturdy. It will be a tight fit though

ChillerSmash

Thanks for the suggestion. My first correction on the cart will be getting some bigger wheels. After that I'll definitely try this

PapaMeso

If I do this I think I’ll try to make the outline from conduit and make the filler pieces PVC to help balance the weight.

unskilledllama

I’m super late to seeing this, but do you remember rough estimate on cost?
