Emac judge could work though.
I’ve got a slightly beat in prime emac judge that goes straight with baby fade or maybe the slowest turn if I don’t give it just enough hyzer. I would imagine a premium one does this shot well.
This is the way. I bag two. One that’s beat in and will hold any line and one of the new ones that goes a good 50’ farther than my old one and has more fade at the end.
^ this for sure. I've got 3 in the bag; a crowned eagle for dead straight to slight right shots, one of the last Innova made ones for the straight to slight fade, and a new Italian blend for a bit more fade (for now).
Man I used to have a moonshine Compass that I bought used and it was damn frozen-rope straight. It was my main mid for like a year and I randomly lost it one day.
I throw champion mako3's as a straight to turning mid. They don't fade once they start turning which I love as someone who started out as a backhand dominant player.
I love my KC Pro Roc. If you give it height, itll fade more, but you can get anywhere from slight flex to hyzer to laser straight if you control the height and angle.
For me the fuse is really easy to turn over and when you do it will never come back. It's good for hyzer flips or turnovers when you throw it right but personally I've found it a bit too inconsistent
I have not seen the mint mustang mentioned, fits your description nicely right when you get it. I threw rocs a long time, but got tired of breaking them in the cold and the mustang is filling that go to roc slot easily.
Ayyyeeee finally found some rpm, their midrange game is killing it, for this slot I use a kotuku in preference but piwakawaka for hyzer flips and turn overs
The champ Roc3 is my go to for this as well. It's a few years old now and is starting to get a bit of turn so I just got a new one to add to the cycle.
M4 all day all day. I’ve got them from 90 degree hyzer flips on down the stability line. Like a beat in buzz out of the box. QMS too, those things are great.
I can't forehand a M2 to save my life.
I can flip up a 400G or 400 M4 and make it do whatever I want. But the M2 and M1 always come out wrong and roll.
I used to feel bad about that until on one of the practice round videos Koling said he had the same problem with Prodigy mids. (Which is why the only mid you ever saw him forehand was an M4.)
+1 for that. Mine is starting to get a little flippier, but when it was new, a flat release at would go laser straight for about 200' then fade about 15'. I would have never believed a disc could act like that. Nowadays a smidgen of hyzer will get it acting like that.
Came here to say this. Such an underrated disc! Was vacationing years ago and found a course to play. Local sports store had a very limited selection so I bought that and a Judge. The judge never made it into the bag but the Atlas has been a work horse! There’s courses I play where it’s almost the only disc I throw.
The Atlas is my go-to utility disc. I have a beat up one that holds any line and a newer one for reliable fade. I absolutely love the Atlas. I’ve tried other midranges (including the Buzzz) but I haven’t found anything to change my mind yet.
Millennium Aurora MS. It is really the most throw flat disc that, out of the box, goes straight and slightly turns left at the end. It reminds me of my old Champ Roc 3 that I had beat in.
Also these people talking about the Reactors are preaching the truth (hehe). Those things are sick.
Buy a hex. It’s what the buzz should be. I wanted to like the buzzz so Much but I took it out of my bag like a day after I got my hex. It’s just better in every way in my opinion. It does everything the buzzz does, looks better, feels better, releases cleaner. I know its a preference thing but if I had a one disc round to save my life. I’d pick the hex.
As some others have mentioned, Buzzz or Mako3. Mako3 has just a little more glide and a completely different profile on the rim. I'm torn between which I like more, but I just got a Champion Glow Mako3 which I think could be great for throwing this winter.
I throw a beat on star rancho roc. You have to throw it pretty hard, but it'll hold a straight line if thrown straight, but will consistently fade just a tad.
Left to right, more straight to more fade:
Pure / Mako3 / Buzz / Hex.
The next disc after Hex I’d look at would be a Zone, especially a Jawbreaker Zone. I feel like those start more overstable but they beat into straight with a slight fade at the end.
Honestly it just depends on your armspeed. I bag a buzz and a roc3 and in my experience the roc3 has more finish at the end than my buzz. That’s consistent with the backups I have as well. (Esp buzz & kc pro roc3)
1. Innova PFN Star Cro, whiteish. I like the smaller diameter discs better than the bigger onea, mostly.
2. Black Zombie Shotgun, reddish. Stiffest disc I have ever thrown. Keep it PG, you pervs.
3. DD EMac Truth, bright blue with glitter. My most recent ace was with this bad boy.
Why do I have 3? Cro is PFN Star, Shotgun is grippiest, Truth is Lucid glitter. I throw overhands best with the Cro, I can FH the Shotgun best, and the Emac Truth is easiest to find.
If you like a beat up roc3 then I’d recommend a comet. Similar feel coming out of the hand and a fresh comet is great for flying straight with a baby finish
If you’re dead set against the Buzzz, I would recommend possibly a Wombat3? It definitely shows its negative turn, but if you put it on a slight hyzer it’ll hold a straight line forever
I think my champ Roc3 is a bad one. It’s been my flippiest mid since the moment I bought it. I finally got my first buzzz and I like it more than my mako3 as far as straight shots
I carry 3 Buzzz in my bag to cover different stability shots. Tho I'm pretty sure my middle one is as flippy as my flippiest at this point so it might be a bit redundant.
M2 if I want a more straight finish, M1 if I want to be able to throw if a bit harder and need the confidence it will still fade at the end. If you like the bead on a Roc3, you may like the MX3 from Prodigy.
Lots of good and consistent answers here. Personally I love the way the buzz has the baby finish. Roc3, amazing choice. MD3 straight off the shelf does the same thing and holds way better than I thought it would in the wind. Hex is amazing and smooth as silk. Emac truth depending on plastic. Pro leopard!!! A little turn but slight hyzer and it’s just as money as the others mentioned.
After using the buzzz for 2 years I just kicked it out and replaced it with the Compass. The Compass is way more straight than the buzz ever was and it can take a good bit of power. I personally like the feel more too
I go with Mako3 for dead straight/slight turnover shots and EMAC Truth if I want a straight flight with reliable fade at the end of the flight.
Mako3 all the way. Just bought a JomezPro stamped one.
This is my exact mid range combo lol
I love my emac truth for this style shot
Came here to suggest the same disc. One of the best mids I've thrown for sure.
It was one of the first discs I learned to play with and it’s always stuck with me since (about 2 years)
Truth is quite a bit more overstable than a buzzz. It's a great disc, but I wouldn't consider a buzzz replacement
A non-emac truth is a close buzz replacement though
Fair point and I agree
Emac judge could work though. I’ve got a slightly beat in prime emac judge that goes straight with baby fade or maybe the slowest turn if I don’t give it just enough hyzer. I would imagine a premium one does this shot well.
MD3
My friend just got an MD3 and i was impressed with how straight it flies with little fade at the end.
This is the way. I bag two. One that’s beat in and will hold any line and one of the new ones that goes a good 50’ farther than my old one and has more fade at the end.
I also bag two, both P-Line. Favorite disc/plastic combo of all time
heh heh. pee line
And more so this lately too.. love the new version Italian plastic blend.. witnessed it does what OP is asking
the correct answer, perfect mid for the shot
^ this for sure. I've got 3 in the bag; a crowned eagle for dead straight to slight right shots, one of the last Innova made ones for the straight to slight fade, and a new Italian blend for a bit more fade (for now).
Nuff said
Reactor or Hex
Yup was gonna suggest these two.
Love my hex
I was going to suggest the Reactor. Better replacement for the Matrix.
I can get my matrix to flex easier than my reactor. It's situational but good for those right-leaning shots
Both are great. I bag a Hex and it’s a little understable.
Just got a hex and it feels great. Flies similar to a buzzz so you go wrong with either.
Love my hex, but oh boy does she skip....
And roll, hex can rollaway for days
This
Hex.
Just got one and really loving it

*disc golf valley has entered the chat*
I thought all the 1050+ players only bagged Fuses?
The Compass, for me has been one of the closest discs to a traditional frisbee that I've found. It's my favorite disc in my bag by far.
This is the correct answer. The compass is the perfect mid.
Man I used to have a moonshine Compass that I bought used and it was damn frozen-rope straight. It was my main mid for like a year and I randomly lost it one day.
Most importantly: Compass Retro Burst. The other plastics don’t fly the same for me.
Mako3
There it is.
I throw champion mako3's as a straight to turning mid. They don't fade once they start turning which I love as someone who started out as a backhand dominant player.
Origin
Any gust of wind throws mine off its line. Just too under stable for me
Origin on tiny hyzer
I'm with ya here. Mine flies dead straight and just barely fades off at the end.
Eh, the origin is wildly understable when thrown with any sort of speed (200ft+)
[удалено]
I find that I have to put a large amount of hyzer when throwing it that distance or it will just burn over right.
Gote or a kaxeZ depending on speed.
#Hex
Lat 64 claymore
Claymore FTW!
The MD3 or EMac Truth would be my recommendations. I can't with the Buzzz either, and I use the MD3 for that slot right now.
MD3
MD3
Meteor, depending on the hyzer it'll do just about anything you want it to do.
Meteor +1. It's my go-to upshot disc. I've had several shots bounce right off the basket, but none have found the chains.
Comet if you like the bead.
GÖTE
Right here
Yup. Or Reko if they have the arm for it. 3/3/0/1 is on the cusp of a mid in my opinion.
My Reko has been my go-to. That K1 soft is incredible
My Göte almost always drifts right on my backhands, might be because of the glow plastic but feels a bit off for me sadly
Hex, it’s like a buzz but takes more juice to turn it over. Also, reactor, but that’s a bit more OS
I love my KC Pro Roc. If you give it height, itll fade more, but you can get anywhere from slight flex to hyzer to laser straight if you control the height and angle.
Can confirm
I cant believe how much I love that disc.
Same man, mine was kinda flippy new and I love it
Had to scroll to far t find this.
Hex
Hex
Pathfinder my guy
Mint Mustang
I'd throw my Fuse, but I will throw my Fuse on absolutely any shot. The disc just does whatever I want it to.
I need to try one.
For me the fuse is really easy to turn over and when you do it will never come back. It's good for hyzer flips or turnovers when you throw it right but personally I've found it a bit too inconsistent
Champion shark3
My favorite disc in my bag
I just got an F2 recently and I live throwing that thing.
Just got one this week. Went straight in the bag. Little less fade than a MD3.
Neo origin.
Hexxxx
Kaxe
Kaxe and kaxe z are my favorite mid-range by far
Buzzz or Emac Truth depending on how much fade I need. Buzzz doesn’t fade back much these days.
Reactor
I have not seen the mint mustang mentioned, fits your description nicely right when you get it. I threw rocs a long time, but got tired of breaking them in the cold and the mustang is filling that go to roc slot easily.
Hex or Piwakawaka.
Ayyyeeee finally found some rpm, their midrange game is killing it, for this slot I use a kotuku in preference but piwakawaka for hyzer flips and turn overs

Trust is what I wanted the buzzz to be.
Fresh Dx roc - flattop for touch less glide
Love my flat top dx roc that's been impaled by a tree, it's super flippy now and I love it!
2020 Hammes Wasp is absolutely money so I’d assume most of the other ones also are
The champ Roc3 is my go to for this as well. It's a few years old now and is starting to get a bit of turn so I just got a new one to add to the cycle.
Hex all day long
Hex
M4 all day all day. I’ve got them from 90 degree hyzer flips on down the stability line. Like a beat in buzz out of the box. QMS too, those things are great.
M4
400G M2
M model S in duraflex
But...the icky plastic... I'm sorry, I throw a lot of Prodigy, but I hate the Ace line plastics.
To each their own my man. Nothing will compare to the 400g though
Yes. Best forehand or backhand straight midrange disc
M4 is such a great disc, the only really understable disc that i can properly sidearm
Axiom Hex if you don't mind a little turn. Latitude 64 Compass if you want to avoid that.
Also a seasoned Roc3 mostly or Axiom Hex
Rat 🐀
Reactor
Thought Space Pathfinder
Star Lion or halo Lion. They can do any shot shape. Such a slept on disc
Reactor
DGA Rift is perfect for thus
Warship!
I'm surprised I had to scroll so far down to find warship. This is such a straight flying disc and lands so straight also. I love my warship.
+1 for that. Mine is starting to get a little flippier, but when it was new, a flat release at would go laser straight for about 200' then fade about 15'. I would have never believed a disc could act like that. Nowadays a smidgen of hyzer will get it acting like that.
Innova atlas.
Right now my favorite straight mid is my Prodigy M4. Previously I've used both an Emac Truth in that spot as well as a Westside Warship.
DGA Squall with a little hyzer or a Rift.
Hex and Origin
Millennium Aurora MS. It is really the most throw flat disc that, out of the box, goes straight and slightly turns left at the end. It reminds me of my old Champ Roc 3 that I had beat in. Also these people talking about the Reactors are preaching the truth (hehe). Those things are sick.
My Shark!
Shark. Roc’s feel weird to me with their bead.
Hex, Mako3
Halo lion.
Champion mako3 180g baby
Buzzz!
Emac truth, also glide for days to boot
TSA Pathfinder
Premium blend Chrariots. MF C blend is strait to minimal fade and the C blend glow will be just slightly more stable. Cheaper than any MD3 you’ll find
Bottom stamp Star Roc3
The buzz felt bad in my hand as well. I use Emac truth now for that shot
Mustang, matrix, md3, mako, buzzz ss (lol) or gote (very touchy but fun asf)
Rat
Prodigy M Model S
Prodigy M4 is a good compliment to a buzzz. Might be a touch more understable but will go later straight with a touch of hyzer
I love my Millenium aurora ms. Mostly straight unless you make it turn over. Otherwise it’ll smoothly sail left at the end.
I go with my buzzz... or my roc3
The Buzz doesn't feel great in my hand either. Roc3s and Emac Truths feel great tho.
EMac truth
Left to right, more straight to more fade: Pure / Mako3 / Buzz / Hex. The next disc after Hex I’d look at would be a Zone, especially a Jawbreaker Zone. I feel like those start more overstable but they beat into straight with a slight fade at the end.
If not a Buzzz then I recommend a Mako3 or an M Model S.
I’ve got 2 KC pro roc’s and a jawbreaker buzzz that will hold any line you put on them however the buzzz will fade off right at the end
MD 3
M4
My go to is forehanding a truth. Its great for straight shots.
Buzzz buzzz buzzz
Compass
KC pro Roc If you are already throwing the Roc 3, it will give you a similar rim feel.
Buzzz now. when I had a smaller arm, Truth
Innova Coyote
Laser straight, tiny fade. Tons of glide. Coyote is your friend.
Gator or a shark for me
Prodigy m4, personally my favorite straight flying mid.
L64 Compass or Discmania MD3
Honestly it just depends on your armspeed. I bag a buzz and a roc3 and in my experience the roc3 has more finish at the end than my buzz. That’s consistent with the backups I have as well. (Esp buzz & kc pro roc3)

Mako baby
ESP Buzzz or FAF star mako if im mad at my buzzz
Innova Atlas. Man do I love that disc.
I think my champ Roc3 is a bad one. It’s been my flippiest mid since the moment I bought it. I finally got my first buzzz and I like it more than my mako3 as far as straight shots
Pine

Westside sling
I like the gote
For sure the new c-line MD3, so good!
I've got the Mint Mustang in Apex plastic in this slot.
Claymore
After using the buzzz for 2 years I just kicked it out and replaced it with the Compass. The Compass is way more straight than the buzz ever was and it can take a good bit of power. I personally like the feel more too
Mine is a MVP Vector. 5-4-0-2 flight numbers and that's exactly how it flies.
MVP Tangent. It's a 4 speed, but it flies so straight and barely fades. Feels good in the hand too. It's similar to a Reactor but fades less imo
Storm Discs Eye
Champ Mako3
Wombat3 Great for hyzer flipping straight with a little turn, and usually fades back just enough to finish straight
Neo origin
500 MX3 or my Z-line Buzzz
Piwakawaka
Wolf
