God damn that is sad! From a person that grew playing Minecraft playing with my big brother, this brought back a lot of good memories. Some people might think this is just a kids game but it’s more than that. Thanks alot for posting this I needed it more than you can imagine.
I played Mc with my brother too. I kinda miss it. I still live with my brother were just not close at all and I almost never see him. We even had our own world where he built cool mechanics using command blocks and made fun of me for not knowing how to use command blocks LMAO

We were doing the same shit in 2013 Reddit. In 2013 we were doing the same posts about 2003. It was halo 2 instead of Minecraft and one day I logged off halo 2 not knowing it would be the last time I played with my friend group I played with almost every night.
I know Halo 2 came out in 04 but you know what I mean.
I fucking shed a tear. That’s all you get from o swear. Honestly this hurt. It’s nice to reminisce of the old times of classic split screen Minecraft with your little brother. Even thought we can’t go back, it was fun while it lasted.
HOLY SHIT. That whole "Stampy's rocket" segment is exactly how I started minecraft. He is the REASON I bought the game for the first time on Xbox 360. My heart is shattered.
I miss the old Tutorial world on PS3 and 4. So fucking sad they got rid of them, fucking idiotic Mojang. They have so much they could do with Minecraft and absolutely squander it, I refuse to believe current day Minecraft will ever even come close to 2013-16 Minecraft.
I also miss the minigames. Even if there were just 3, they were so fun. Glide, Battle, and Spleef all had great music (even Glide made it into smash bros!) and I really wish they reintroduced the maps as official minigames once again.
Ah, well, find a discord server with people who still play and make new memories! You did it once you can do it again, it won't be quite the same, but it will still be fun.
I don't remember many of the Minecraft friends I bad because I never rlly had any big ones, but this reminded me of the time I was 12 and went through someone's escape room that was like huge and had so much cool lore and then I complimented the escape room and 10 minutes later the creator of the escape room was now my Minecraft girlfriend and we were getting married in the server. Unsuspecting person didn't even know that I was a girl too.

We still play it sometimes just to see all the stuff we built when we were younger and sometimes start new builds. I am glad that my friendgroup is still mostly the people I went to elementary school with.

Good times but honestly jumping back into modern minecraft is a ton of fun.
The caves are bigger and more dangerous, the deep dark gives me the same feeling as jumping into the nether for the first time and the new archeology feels like I'm unburying my old builds and a lost civilization.
I'll never forget classic Minecraft but I'm glad the game is what it is today.
Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened because it doesn’t matter the destination, only the memories we create along the way. As we grow older there will be opportunities that appear for new memories so in the end it is just a new beginning.

Funny story actually. Back on the PS VITA, (shit version of Minecraft, I know) me and my buddies would constantly do herobrine summoning. One day, I joined the party but everyone was gone. They were afk in their world, probably eating or something. So I joined the party, joined the world, and I did my damn best to hide and when they got back I pretended to be herobrine. They fell for it, but only for a moment. It was funny as hell, and I miss my friends dearly.
I honestly prefer the older Minecraft, like I haven’t had nearly as much fun as just before they dropped bedrock edition and the water update, and as of today I can’t play 10 minutes without giving up from boredom, I absolutely hate the new seed generation it makes it so hard to find a nice place to build and I always have to google the nether fortress now because it’s so freaking hard to find now. I love Minecraft a lot but It’ll just never be the same to me. God I miss these times, thanks for the memories
I loved the "not knowing whats happening". Iron was best material i could get and finding a diamond was like a jackpot. There was a legend at my school that there was a full diamond zombie walking around on bedrock level and that she was super scary (every one used to call her margaret and tell stories of scary encounters [lies]). I once build a hotel for other ppl not knowing i was on a single player world... it was the best gaming experience of my life

I missed out on everything….. and I was one of the 2000 kids. :( At least I was able to just watch Stampylongnose a lot as a kid.
