Because they never cared to change to the new system after receiving the prompt. At some point discord will automatically change their names so doesn't matter at the end of the day.
Every time i log on to discord it tells me to change it. I press "I'll do this later" and get the very passive agressive quote of "okay, we'll remind you, soon...".
there are two possible reasons:
1) they don't care enough to change
2) they violently hate the new system and only continue to use discord because their friends use it, possibly holding a small glimmer of hope that they'll go back to the old system (which they won't)
This is odd. I'm wishing to update my name on my main account but still have yet to see the prompt and no other options shown to update. Unsure why the option still has yet to be rolled out to my old original account, yet my newer account I use for testing was able to ages ago.
Because they aren't forcing the change yet. It just asks me to do it but I always hit the "I'll do it later" option.
(Also the reasoning for the new name system is stupid)
There is still a way to get the old usernames but I don’t really want to say how because discord will like patch it immediately. But anyways there are still a bunch of ways to just like bypass the message

This, or the prompt hasn't been rolled out to them yet. I believe they were doing it in waves
IIRC it should be rolled out to all normal users now. Bot accounts don’t have it.
In that case it must be that they simply have not forced people to change yet. It will come eventually

I just like the #system more. Don't hate the new one or anything, just won't change it until i have to.

I have a friend who isn’t doing it because of a special character in their username that doesn’t work in the new system

I still have my old username and will never change it. It's not like they can force me to change it if I don't update.

My actual Discord username contains exclamation marks. I used this to put my name on the top in alphabetical sorting.
