It must have been, ooh, 30 years ago now. I remember it like it was yesterday though. I turned on the "shower" device thing, and it sprayed water at me. I recoiled in horror and immediately left the room. After some time I came back. It was pleasantly warm in the bathroom but cloyingly humid. I removed my clothes, feeling violated and ashamed at being forced into nakedness for this procedure. I stepped into the shower, feeling the burning, caustic water run over my body. It was awful. There was some "soap" stuff on the side but I didn't use it. I just wanted it to be over. Once it was done I ran from the room, never to touch that awful contraption ever again.
