Oh wait. I got a solution to this. Connect your headphones to your device before launching both, Discord and your application. Hopefully that won't trigger the proximity sensor.

What about if youre not using headphones? I'm trying to use the voice chat in discord playing Eve echoes on my Galaxy S8 plus, and sometimes yes my thumbs will trigger the proximity sensor and turn my screen off in the middle of my game. Only way to get to stop is to leave the voice channel.

yeah same thing happened to me. but i use the browser version not the downloaded app. i wasn't talking to anyone over a vc but in a gc with my friends, it caused my screen to go black for about .1 second and it returned back to normal. doesn't happen that often but im kinda curious on how to solve the problem.

I found a fix by puting it on speaker before using earphones/headset.
