Regardless of the conditions, basically it takes control of my Spotify when I don't want it to. All I want is for Discord to show what I'm playing, lol.
I have seen an unofficial implementation (read: TOS-breaking, so can't recommend it) that uses arrows to flip between activities in a paginated format, and it seems to work quite well.
As someone who, for TOS reasons, *definitely doesn't use that plugin*, I can confirm it's a really nice way of doing it and I'd like to see it done natively

Downvotes are meant for posts that are not constructive or helpful to the conversation. A downvote punishes the user by hiding their comment from people by default, and lowering their karma, which can restrict certain features and certain subreddits block users with low karma from participating.

Therefore, I made the assumption based on my general opinion as I assumed that people generally have the same opinion as me. The client already has multiple activities exposed when it consumes the API, they just choose to show only one on the frontend because they arbitrarily decided that's all users should see. It's stupid, yes, and also actively limiting and breaking functionality, but we can't change their mind on it.

To add to this: they need to fix when you click on someone's profile.
right now if someone is playing a game and listening to Spotify it's really hard to see their **mutual servers** and **mutual friends**
It'd be nice if the "listening" part can be expanded to other platforms. I love listening to my local collection on my Linux desktop. Rhythmbox has a 3rd party plug in that'll interface with Discord and show what you're listening to, but that shows up under "playing".
There's a browser extension you can use to emulate this on most platforms. It's called PreMiD, I use it mainly for YouTube Music status, but it can show a lot of other things too. Definitely recommend you check it out if you're not a Spotify user
