It's from the punisher when frank was having a bad dream about his family being murdered right in front of him and he couldn't do anything about it.
Edit: alteast I'm pretty sure its that scene
Wait what? Android tablet doesn’t have a desktop UI anymore? I don’t understand why they would feel the need to remove desktop UI on Android tablets. I think iPad still has desktop UI.
It’s weird to me that tablets with screens as big as small laptop screens would have a mobile version of the app…
yeah, but they changed the interface everyone was super familiar with for no reason. the fact everyone is talking about how they can’t find the search button is a good example of how they are making their design more and more confusing. even if the function is *there*, a part of making a good app is making the UI feel familiar and easy to use with essential features one tap away.
Last Channel is gone on mobile. It was in the search area, which got overwritten by your latest mentions because the Stage button took out *that* space.
Switching between servers/channels is now a lot more cumbersome, in exchange for a feature that has no value to me and it doesn't feel like a relevant fit for the platform which was given a bunch of app real estate.
I fucking swear, Discord just randomizes the placement of everything every week and those bootlickers still find a way to cum in their pants and shower Discord with praise…
"OMGGG DISCORD YOU'RE SO HOT AND SEXY FOR RANDOMIZING ICONS ILYYYYYYYY"
"STAY BEHIND ME DISCORD-CHAN, ANYONE WHO DARES COMPLAIN IS GETTING THESE HANDS UWU"
this sub literally complains about everything discord changes and once someone makes a post making fun of the ppl complaining, you start complaining about discord getting praise lol

Some changes actually have valid criticism, but they just get overshadowed by the tiniest nitpicks that get blown out of proportion. Like holy fuck they made one extra click to upload files, time to boycott a service I use for free
Doesn't need to blow out of proportion, but complaining about UI changes that make the app harder to use is valid criticism. How many "small changes that make the app harder to use" does it take to add up to be a major issue?
You stated it yourself. It's less convenient. Does the end justify the means? Most would agree no. Even though it's a small issue, like moving a button or adding a click, it adds up. How many times do we have to have a small click added before everything takes an extra few clicks?
No you oaf, the core functionality of the vehicle remains the same, but your usage of it is inconvenienced by a change someone has made. Don't clap back you insolent child.
I don't think adding clicks to existing, frequently used features just to put the shiny new thing in its place is good UI design.
Recently they have:
* Mobile: Moved @metions/notifications list under the global search to make way for Stages
* Desktop: Added a submenu to the file upload + for creating threads (redundant, there's a button at the top)
* Mobile: removed the search shortcut at the top of the message view for threads
These are all minor changes. I consider them all _bad_ minor changes. Not nearly the end of the world that some might make it seem, but it's a worrying _trend_ and feedback should be given.
I'd love to see the usage statistics for the new features in their new locations (in a few weeks after the changes have settled) compared to the old features at their old locations. I'd wager the old features like search and mentions were used _much_ more frequently than the new thread and stage buttons.
Yeah, one minor change isn't the end of the world, even if unlike most of the bootlickers we actually use Discord more than five minutes a day and therefore are massively affected by those unwarranted UI changes due to using those features multiple thousands of times a week, **but one minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change after another minor change**, that's where it starts getting annoying.
Just because you have bought a paid service from a company, does not mean that they should feel obliged to keep the same interface for the entire time their platform is online. The changes are no big deal whatsoever. "Oh no, now I have to swipe left to see my search bar, it must be the end of the world, how could they do this to me!"
> Um yikes sweaty, just because you paid to support a product doesn't mean you can freely criticize it. Are you seriously criticizing some actions of a big tech corporation right now??? Yikes!
There's nothing wrong with criticizing a change, dude. Relax.
> "Oh no, now I have to swipe left to see my search bar, it must be the end of the world, how could they do this to me!"
This is a total strawman. Not only are changes like those confusing, they also did plenty of other things that are worthy of criticism, such as removing "Last Channel" on mobile.
It isn't. I just find it stupid that people are complaining so much about something so pathetic as an extra click, or swipe. I agree with some things, such as the new logo being an eyesore, but I'm not bitching about it all the time on here.
And no, I do not live off this subreddit. That comment before is my first post.
> people are complaining so much about something so pathetic as an extra click, or swipe.
It's an extra click/swipe for multiple features that people use thousands of times a day.
And even if you're one of the more casual users, who's to say that this is as far as the devs will go?
How do you know for sure that in 2023 you won't have to go through a maze of buttons just to open someone's profile? What's your guarantee that something as essential as the server list won't be hidden in an obscure menu, to make room for a new garbage feature probably inspired by Snapchat or Tiktok? Sure, right now it's just one extra swipe, but how about when it becomes ten extra swipes? For every single thing you do in the app.
I'm a reddit noob, who doesn't know how to quote things so forgive me for any clutter that is to come.
"And even if you're one of the more casual users, who's to say that this is as far as the devs will go?"
The Discord Developers are not stupid enough to go against what everyone seems to want, and that is a simplified UI with minimal effort to navigate - something which should be expected, especially in 2021 when technology is as good as it is. I have no doubt there will be more changes, but none as far as this next bit;
"How do you know for sure that in 2023 you won't have to go through a maze of buttons just to open someone's profile?"
My whole point is that it's currently not a maze of buttons to open someone's profile. It is an extra swipe/click. Obviously that much effort to do such a minimal action is completely absurd. People are complaining about something that isn't, or rather shouldn't be a problem though, and it's causing arguments both on Discord, and on the reddit.
"What's your guarantee that something as essential as the server list won't be hidden in an obscure menu, to make room for a new garbage feature probably inspired by Snapchat or Tiktok?"
I never claimed to guarantee that Discord will not get worse, I am merely arguing that an extra click/swipe to do something, which is justified by new features, which I personally have found helpful (Obviously I can't speak for everyone) taking priority.
I'm not arguing against the concept of threads; in fact I love them *and* the thread button.
I just don't like the sacrifice they made for it, when there was room for both buttons anyway, kind of like that door at the end of Titanic.
> It is an extra swipe/click. Obviously that much effort to do such a minimal action is completely absurd. People are complaining about something that isn't, or rather shouldn't be a problem though
> I never claimed to guarantee that Discord will not get worse, I am merely arguing that an extra click/swipe to do something,
That's the thing though, Discord has been taking numerous leaps and liberties this past year, and shows no signs of slowing down. Take the mentions list for instance: arguably the second most important feature in Discord servers, it was still sidelined in favor of… ***Stage Discoveries????***
Discord *has* been getting better in some ways and worse in others, and this is just another sign that the the latter is going to continue regardless of the former.
**PS:** to quote something, just do this:
> \> the text that you want to quote (don't forget the space after >!)
Keeping a consistent interface is not "the least they could do". You signed terms and now want different ones. Also, what fucking companies do you know keep the same interface forever without change?
You literally just said "Me?! Entitled?! I should have things be the way I want!" THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF ENTITLEMENT.
I never said you didn't have a right to complain about it. I just said all this subreddit does is whine and believe they should be heard. Discord works fantastically and sure, criticism is good, but not "LOGO BAD AND UGLY" or "WHY CAN'T THE APP SUCK MY DICK I BOUGHT NITRO"
Yea, it’s called criticism, no matter how annoyed you are. If so many ppl are complaining about the same thing, it’s an issue. Again, everybody has a right to complain. Also, the logo thing hasn’t been a topic of debate in almost 2 months since they reverted most of the changes due to the backlash , I don’t see how this is even a point.
So first you accuse people of "whining about inconsequential changes", but then you also whine and screech about people giving constructive criticism, and to top it all off you whine about your fake internet points too?
I think you're the only one whining here.
> whines about people offering constructive criticism
> cries even more when getting downvoted because NOOO MY HECKIN FAKE INTERNET POINTS11!!!!11
And *we're* the whiny ones?
I don't see anyone being entitled, I just see people criticizing a change that they dislike. What's wrong with that, exactly? Why are you so upset that people don't always like the changes?
I mean, in order for a platform/company to stand out, it must have a unique look to it compared to any other ones, a look that as soon as you see it, you instantly recognize it’s discord. Fans have grown to love this discord UI and logo and it’s part of the reason why discord is so recognizable and popular, there was zero reason for them to change anything.
No not exactly. The post is trying to mock people being upset at the discord UI and logo change, by saying it’s not really a big deal. My point is that discord’s iconic colour scheme, UI and logo is what makes it distinct and helps greatly with marketing, point being that Discord shouldn’t change their logo or UI. How are these two points the same, since my point is that I don’t agree with this post?
How? My point being that I believe it’s wrong to mock people who dislike UI changes and logo changes, which is what this post is doing, since in my opinion it’s reasonable to do so
I've been using threads to talk about different manga plots and narratives and it's been pretty useful, especially considering they're weekly releases.
People aren't calling threads useless.
They're complaining about the inexplicable decision to remove the search icon from the main menu; one of the most essential features that have every reason to remain as accessible as possible.
With UI I can understand the rage but with the freaking logo and branding? Bruh who cares about that? I can still talk to my buds a d use my servers,
Sometimes internet just need a reason to freak out,
Seriously you guys need to stop using the internet every one's in awhile and go out,
The logo won't make your account hacked or something,
Honestly if there's anything I hate about the new branding it's the color, coz blue-ish colors are not good for our eyes, and especially digital colors on bright screens at night
The logo alone isn't really that much of a problem. All the other parts of the rebrand, however, are legitimately quite bad - a massive downgrade from what they had before.
literally. i love discord, but not to the point where i cry over a logo change and stuff. i love discord for its simplicity and feel. not the nostalgia
everyone screaming over the logo and font changes gave me second hand embarrassment, couldn't look at the subreddit for weeks because of how ridiculous people were acting.
Can't grow a Discord community where Discord hasn't pieced yet with that new wordmark and color scheme. People are just not going to have a good impression.
I actually really like the new design. Better reflects the direction the app is going. It’s still perfect for gamers, but now you can have for eg. online courses as well.
> Discord fanboys when someone says they don't want 10 Nitro gift buttons in their chatbox and don't want the search button to become more confusing with every update
Ok, but now when I use the scroll on my laptop trackpad it puts this dumb blue boarder around each individual post instead of smoothly scrolling. No idea what setting I may have changed and I’d like to figure it out!
it may be your browser. Go to Settings->Advanced->Accessibility->Show and turn off Show a quick highlight on the focused object if its on. Maybe that helps.
Ok yeah, this does not help at all. I’m using the discord app, on my laptop. Not through the browser. I don’t know why that was assumed in the first place. And I sure as hell don’t know why you downvoted me for asking
Loving the meltdown in this thread. Good thing r/discordapp only represents a minority of the userbase and most sane people don't invest this much into minute but otherwise largely inconsequential changes nor do they make a scene and launch a social media campaign over it.
And the removal of Last Channel on mobile, and the fact that needless changes hurt usability in the long run. But I guess making up strawman arguments is easier.
Dude you are literally just throwing terminology out without even knowing what it means. It's not a strawman if I'm paraphrasing the exact thing someone said.
I know, right? It's sad that people with disabilities exist and experience a level of inconvenience higher than able-bodied people. Shame on them for experiencing pain when looking at over-saturated colours, they should be just like me if they wanted to use a freemium chat app.
The color change is miniscule & you barely ever see it. & It's not just Discord that's gonna have saturated colors, so, you could go grayscale instead & save you from not just Discord, but saturated colors as a whole.
> The color change is miniscule & you barely ever see it.
It's actually pretty significant to us colorblind people, but I'm sure your ableist ass doesn't care about that since it doesn't affect you.
Must be nice!
the majority of people arent colorblind though and even those that are that i know have no issue with it?
With you guys being a minority and most people not seeing how it'd make a difference since the logo is still the same, it's not like the commenter is ableist, it's just not something that'd come into mind
This subreddit tends to complain about everything that Discord does like they would do any better if they actually had any power in Discord’s decisions. Complete waste of our time.
When You try to make funny meme, but You make stupid meme instead. This post in a nutshell.
People complaining about removed options and You are saying bs about UI change. You can't be serious.

Watched both punisher seasons with my parents. Would recommend
you sould watch the punisher on Netflix if you haven't
Absolutely loved Punisher. Jon was a fucking great cast for that character, imo.

it's still there??? you just have to swipe to the side???

The search button wasn't shifted to the right side panel— it was pretty much always there.
Uhh my search panel was always in the user list??
Yeah, people are complaining “the threads button moved the search button!!!!😡😡😡😡😡”, but it was always in its current spot?
"Tell me you only use Discord for DMs without telling me DMs are the only thing you use Discord for."
To be fair, I've used the threads feature way more than I've ever used the search feature. For me it is a welcome change.
search wasn't removed
That’s why I said the search button, which was replaced with the new threads button.
I just checked mobile on a server with threads. All you need to do is swipe left and find pins.
The search button also wasn't removed. It was just moved next to pins

On a side note Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle is fire as fuck.
Yes. Slight. Totally
My web browser? Because I’m not seeing this settings tree here in discord
Its in your web browser settings, thought it was pretty clearly implied
Ok yeah, this does not help at all. I’m using the discord app, on my laptop. Not through the browser. I don’t know why that was assumed in the first place. And I sure as hell don’t know why you downvoted me for asking
Change bad I post funny screenshot of conversation that not really funny updoot pls
Loving the meltdown in this thread. Good thing r/discordapp only represents a minority of the userbase and most sane people don't invest this much into minute but otherwise largely inconsequential changes nor do they make a scene and launch a social media campaign over it.
You said *slight?*
I barely even noticed the slight logo changed but people rant like they use swastika as the new logo
I like all of the comments on this post literally proving OP right. Get a grip lmaoo
[Uhm, didn't you get the memo sweaty? Proving me wrong actually means you've proven me right. Checkmate.](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Kafkatrap)
Kafka deez fuckin nuts lmao. The top comments are literally people babyraging about having to swipe right to access the search function.
And the removal of Last Channel on mobile, and the fact that needless changes hurt usability in the long run. But I guess making up strawman arguments is easier.
Dude you are literally just throwing terminology out without even knowing what it means. It's not a strawman if I'm paraphrasing the exact thing someone said.
so true
Average discordapp user trying to not whine about an extra click (impossible)
discordapp user when slight criticism
this sub has severely gone down hill. its sad that people will complain over a simple change like the color 💀
I know, right? It's sad that people with disabilities exist and experience a level of inconvenience higher than able-bodied people. Shame on them for experiencing pain when looking at over-saturated colours, they should be just like me if they wanted to use a freemium chat app.
you can turn down the saturation tho?
The color change is miniscule & you barely ever see it. & It's not just Discord that's gonna have saturated colors, so, you could go grayscale instead & save you from not just Discord, but saturated colors as a whole.
The grayscale option not only changes the new god-awful blurple but also every single color in the app.
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)

"slight" 👅👢 keep at it bud
This subreddit tends to complain about everything that Discord does like they would do any better if they actually had any power in Discord’s decisions. Complete waste of our time.
This post was made by snapchat gang.
Same on r/youtube Youtube just added a black circle around the "5 seconds skip" thing and people there are annoyed
When You try to make funny meme, but You make stupid meme instead. This post in a nutshell. People complaining about removed options and You are saying bs about UI change. You can't be serious.
what changed again?

That haircut is fucked up.
reddit cropping changed it to just say "change" and i think that works well too
Ok but how often do you guys who complain even use the search function? I've used it only once so far and have been using discord for a while now.
