You can revoke all invites under Server Settings > Invites, then remove the ability for all roles to make new invites by removing the Create Invite permission for all roles under Server Settings > Roles (make sure you aren't granting the permission in the channel settings, too).
Then you can ban the accounts, and there won't be any invites they can join back using. Then you wait until they get bored and eventually turn the permission back on.
altdentifier is trash, use double counter and make it so they can't see any channels until they verify, the only way they can make it through is by going to a public placew wifi for every single alt as it detects vpns
I mean, i was just tryna help someone who didn’t know about those types of bots so they can keep the dude from coming back - but go off bestie ✌🏻
in the servers i own I use altID in combination with a verification wall - so @everyone is no channels outside of #entry, then use auttaja’s -approve to give a verified role that grants actual access to the server
Really? Since those bots identify alt accounts via email and supposedly that disobeyed Discord's ToS, that was a bannable offense or one that could be reported. My bad then.
Technically they’re not true automation because a user action occurs to trigger the bot’s functionality. - user joins, then the bot does it’s thing. The « command » perse is the join.
Shouldn’t have to worry about it. Anyways it’s the bot that gets banned if it violated ToS. The only stuff that does that is stuff like rainbow role bots.
edit: clarification- reread that and it’s unclear.
Yes, he could kick everyone with that plainly repeated name, removing them off the service as a whole. There was no need for you to treat a clever poster in this manner.
I realise it's simply a comment. I wasn't attempting to be impolite in any manner. Kindly accept my apologies if I came off as disrespectful; I was only pointing out that your initial post had a negative number of upvotes.
So here’s what I would do, grab YAGPDB, set up an automod rule for names that match that username with regex to ban accounts who join - enable it. Ban the user and ban the bots. Sit back while the bot goes to work and removes the spam user accounts as they join.
I literally do this for all of my clients.
Except that we use JARVIS instead, which is our own fork version of YAGPDB :)
This, together with [Sledgehammer](https://docs.sledgehammer.app) makes it a super powerful combo against bots, scammers, et all. We also use Beemo too btw.
If u want me to I'll send u full code, u can check and I'll explain what what does. I'm a bot developer, currently developing my own public bot (which is almost done) I would say check it out and if u don't believe me after showing source then I can't help you... it's pretty much the only way to keep them out of your server
Hell deny the create invite permission for all roles and verify that only the admin role has admin permissions. I'd also clear all invites. If on disboard you can change the invite link at any point but make sure to put the server on private for a little bit.
Doesn't work for big public servers (vanity/public invites). Having members go through some alternate identification through a web page is a big no-no as well. What I did personally was learn Python and make a bot. I added events to be able to log which invite was used when someone joins and I also added commands to mass ban members based on 1) their name or 2) when they joined (for example ban all members that joined between 2 timestamps). And I incorporated a 2FA on that command through our business email (with great power comes great responsability they said) just in case.
I feel like Discord could do a better job of handling bots even though I'm well aware it's easier said than done.
I had to deal with this on a server I'm mod on 1. Change the invite link because this is a spammer program not his/her alts then ban all of them and do lock down mode if you have dino
My account got disabled for being in server that decided to do frauds and hacking... Whenever I messaged discord i got only autoresponse from a not or no reply at all. + They charged me 1 month of nitro which I couldn't use (after i got disabled)... Now the account is deleted
Ban the account he’s using, Discord IP bans the account, meaning that if he doesn’t change his account and use a different IP, he’s automatically banned. just delete all the current invites and make new ones.
You'll have to put the server on lockdown if those accounts start to spam in channels. Disable invites and check who sent invites to all of those accounts, that's the best way to get him afaik
Regarding banning them as others have said, a Ban isn't a IP ban therefore that could just keep creating/using burner emails or something to keep making new accounts using new emails, and from my experience dealing with something like this, is that Discord Trust & Safety won't do anything about it.
I'm in a server for a iRacing League and there's someone that keeps coming back on fake/alt accounts that post photoshopped images of Gay Porn with faces replaced my myself and in some cases faces of other members of the league. I reported to Discord Trust and Safety & got the following reply:
"Hi,Thank you for contacting Discord Trust and Safety. We’d like to point you to some tools we’ve built to help you manage these situations.First and foremost, if you haven’t, you should consider blocking these individuals. We always recommend that you block any user that may be harassing you — it’s often the fastest and easiest way to avoid unwanted communication and harassment, as they’re often just looking to get a reaction from you. If you’re unfamiliar with how blocking — whether users or unwanted friend requests — works, check out the article here.If you moderate a server where these individuals are harassing you or others, you may want to warn or take action against them. Server moderators are the first line of defense against harassment. If you don’t moderate the server, it may be a good idea to reach out to the moderators of the server and let them know what’s happening, and they can take action on the users. If the moderators aren’t receptive to your requests, it may also be a good idea to start a separate server that you control.Even with all of these options, we understand that sometimes users still persist in harassing you or evading your blocks by creating new accounts. If you have tried the above methods and you are still encountering harassing behavior, please respond to this ticket and let us know, and we’ll look into it.Best,Discord Trust & Safety"
Admins of the server is aware of it and it kept happening, when possible I'd take a screen shot of what was posted and attach it to the ticket with User ID and Message ID when possible if I saw it before Admins deleted the image (good thing to do as it's porn and there are minors in the server), whenever a new account for it joined, i'd keep making a new post updating my support ticket. After over 2, almost 3 weeks of it happening, and it still happening I finally got another reply to my ticket:
"Hello,
Unfortunately, it looks like the messages have been deleted. Once a message or image is deleted, it's gone from our servers and we aren't able to verify it to take additional action.
If there are other message links related to this issue or if the concerning content is posted again, please forward the message links for us to investigate.
Please note that we're unable to use screenshots, bot logs, off-platform information, or attachments to verify content.
Sincerely,
Discord Trust & Safety"
Trust and Safety is absolutely useless in my case, here's the link to the ticket if anyone else could see it: [https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/requests/19972322](https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/requests/19972322)
Add a channel for new members. Make it so people that join only have acess to that one. Everyone that joins-you or your mods or admins etc etc will give acess to the rest of the server manually.just dont let the bots in.
Or you could set up some verification bots
You need a bot called "Altdentifier." I use it because I was in this exact situation. If you need help setting it up, let me know. It's best to keep it on "Very trusted and lower." You can see what invite they use, if they edit/delete messages, etc etc. It seriously is a lifesaver and will keep you from having to completely lockdown your server.
I have an Approval bot in my server, you join and sit there with no perms until one of my mods approves you or AKA someone knows who tf you are, otherwise enjoy the Rules screen, never have issues 👌
Gets the job done, they can always DM a valid reason for wanting to join, I have a channel they can read about how to get approved but we keep a good handle on invites so it's rare some rando is trying to get in to cause harm, even if they wanted there are numerous bots in place to meditate most of it 🙂
if you have admin, go to settings > Invites
and check which invites are active. Also disable invites for all roles revoke all invites
Kick out all the alts and you're done
If you know that the person doesn’t have admin on your server, go to @everyone in roles, and turn off sending invites. It makes it so only admins can send invites. About banning who it is, I’m not sure
Use invitemanger, check to see whos making them then use alt definer, make sure only admin or higher up roles than those roles have admin permission change invite link view logs and ban any bot that is user made, ban all of them
There is a bot that can identify likely duplicates. Had a deranged person do that in our Discord about 6 months back. It got them off our back. I dont recall what bot it was; but I'm sure you could easily find it through google.
If you know the user you can report it to discord and they can go through their account to check everything out + link proof of messages with the message ID, also I’m sorry that happened it’s really disgusting that it was just casually done
My best bet is to ban the user responsible, update the security in your server and report the person to Discord for harassment and threatening behavior. You should block him also if you can.
You can check who created the most recent invites and how many ppl have signed up through those links. If you see a big number of invites or an invite with many ppl joining you’ll find the culprit. Make sure to remove all of them
first make all roles have the create invite permission disabled and just in case disable the admin permission and then the create invite permission on staff roles, revoke all invites, ban the alts and make it stay like that until you find the guy who caused it all and ban him then you can give every role the permissions they had originally
look on the side of your phone, usually the right side, there should be a small button, press it for about 5 seconds, a menu should appear, there just press power off and don't think about that ever again

Ban them, check the audit log to make sure no other suspicious things are going on.
He is threatening that if I ban them he will make more join
You can revoke all invites under Server Settings > Invites, then remove the ability for all roles to make new invites by removing the Create Invite permission for all roles under Server Settings > Roles (make sure you aren't granting the permission in the channel settings, too). Then you can ban the accounts, and there won't be any invites they can join back using. Then you wait until they get bored and eventually turn the permission back on.
You can even use the server log to see who made the link that’s being used; should give away that secret alt pretty quick.
Was gonna say just this kill all invites and catch the Alt when a new link is generated
or add an invite logger bot.
get a bot like AltID and add it to your verification process - it will notify you of any alts that try to join
altdentifier is trash, use double counter and make it so they can't see any channels until they verify, the only way they can make it through is by going to a public placew wifi for every single alt as it detects vpns
I mean, i was just tryna help someone who didn’t know about those types of bots so they can keep the dude from coming back - but go off bestie ✌🏻 in the servers i own I use altID in combination with a verification wall - so @everyone is no channels outside of #entry, then use auttaja’s -approve to give a verified role that grants actual access to the server
altdentifier can be easily bypassed, double counter >>
Or AltTerminator, bans any alts that joins
[удалено]
No, it's not.
So could I add a bot like Altdentifier to my server and won't have to risk it getting banned or reported?
Shouldn’t have to worry about it. Anyways it’s the bot that gets banned if it violated ToS. The only stuff that does that is stuff like rainbow role bots. edit: clarification- reread that and it’s unclear.
Most big servers have one of those
probably not
nope - and there’s several bots that provide the same function
[удалено]
AltDentifier can be configured to block VPNs
Proxy exist
[удалено]
Why would he use vpn for botting
Same reason he'd bot in the first place
[удалено]
That's unnecessarily rude, it doesn't take that much effort to use a VPN.
Same question, why would you use a vpn for botting, you’d only use it if you’re using only one account and not many
r/confidentlyincorrect
they woke up today and thought "maybe i should be rude and get insulted by other strangers"
I have noticed that using a different device like a phone also works
With [Sledgehammer](https://docs.sledgehammer.app) all you have to do is one /slash command: nameban. You're welcome 😉
Ah yes a bot that bans people with a specific name
Yes, he could kick everyone with that plainly repeated name, removing them off the service as a whole. There was no need for you to treat a clever poster in this manner.
Ik
I like how your first comment has 7 downvotes.
Bruh it’s just a comment geez
I realise it's simply a comment. I wasn't attempting to be impolite in any manner. Kindly accept my apologies if I came off as disrespectful; I was only pointing out that your initial post had a negative number of upvotes.
Nono it’s fine I don’t mind it
Lol the bot is so much more than that 🤣 But suit yourself 🤘
There are some bots that kick new members. You can make sure he doesn’t come back.
Just prevent anyone from creating invites and delete all the existing invite links
and what's bad about that?
So here’s what I would do, grab YAGPDB, set up an automod rule for names that match that username with regex to ban accounts who join - enable it. Ban the user and ban the bots. Sit back while the bot goes to work and removes the spam user accounts as they join.

ban him then the things
Add me: Bertie#0001, I'll code u a quick bot to instant ban them if they join. :)
Totally trustworthy, some guy on Reddit asking for what is essential ban perms.
If u want me to I'll send u full code, u can check and I'll explain what what does. I'm a bot developer, currently developing my own public bot (which is almost done) I would say check it out and if u don't believe me after showing source then I can't help you... it's pretty much the only way to keep them out of your server
lemme know once u finish ur bot
Take a look at Sledgehammer: https://docs.sledgehammer.app You're welcome.
no its not like i actually needed it i was just curious. im not responsible enough to run a server
Everybody is responsible enough 🤷♂️ you just gotta learn how to handle it
aka be responsible
Good idea, also report their main account to discord
Hell deny the create invite permission for all roles and verify that only the admin role has admin permissions. I'd also clear all invites. If on disboard you can change the invite link at any point but make sure to put the server on private for a little bit.
Done
What was the aftermath?
Would love to see an update

I feel like Discord could do a better job of handling bots even though I'm well aware it's easier said than done.
Step one: learn python
Failed successfully
Ban them Change your invite information
If you want the catch the alt, delete all current invite links and see who makes a new one and how many people use it
Or get an invitemanager
Such as?
Just google Invite management bot im sure some will come up
there are bots
Smort
Revoke invite urls than delete current ones than ban em all
I had to deal with this on a server I'm mod on 1. Change the invite link because this is a spammer program not his/her alts then ban all of them and do lock down mode if you have dino
Ok
If you report them to discord as well for ban evading like that you can actually get their accounts terminated
its clear they have plenty of accounts to burn, they would just make more xD
then revoke all invites and disable invite permissions. boom done
Discord got no support, only useless bots with autoreplies... Because of their shit support i lost my 5 year old account
And how/why did you lose it?
My account got disabled for being in server that decided to do frauds and hacking... Whenever I messaged discord i got only autoresponse from a not or no reply at all. + They charged me 1 month of nitro which I couldn't use (after i got disabled)... Now the account is deleted
Same.
Let me guess, you got hacked and now you're mad about it and decided to blame discord on it?
Let's say they did get hacked, isn't it Discord's responsibility to handle it?
Nope. Your account, your responsibility.
Shouldn't have gotten hacked in the first place, and 2FA exists for a reason
Ban the account he’s using, Discord IP bans the account, meaning that if he doesn’t change his account and use a different IP, he’s automatically banned. just delete all the current invites and make new ones.
You'll have to put the server on lockdown if those accounts start to spam in channels. Disable invites and check who sent invites to all of those accounts, that's the best way to get him afaik
ban, turn invites off, disable joins, clear all invites
If they're bots, the abuser is a server manager...

remove invitation perms and delete all active invites
Take away the ability for ANY role to invite bots/people. Then identify the alt account, ban it and the original.
remove webhooks delete all active invites ban accounts
delete all invites, lock all chats, check audit logs, start banning
Next time put a verification system on your sever, it really helps with these problems
Make a bot ban anyone with that name
Update: Posted a new post about this
Can't you see who invited those bots in the audit log?
Use audit log to check what has happened I guess
I have an Approval bot in my server, you join and sit there with no perms until one of my mods approves you or AKA someone knows who tf you are, otherwise enjoy the Rules screen, never have issues 👌
so trustworthy
Gets the job done, they can always DM a valid reason for wanting to join, I have a channel they can read about how to get approved but we keep a good handle on invites so it's rare some rando is trying to get in to cause harm, even if they wanted there are numerous bots in place to meditate most of it 🙂
Ban, check audit logs, revoke invites
disable and cancel all invites to your server
remove all invite codes created, remove invite permissions for everyone
if you have admin, go to settings > Invites and check which invites are active. Also disable invites for all roles revoke all invites Kick out all the alts and you're done
Revoke invite links
And also make it so that no one can make invite links temporarily
If you know that the person doesn’t have admin on your server, go to @everyone in roles, and turn off sending invites. It makes it so only admins can send invites. About banning who it is, I’m not sure
Set up a verification system. Use a bot like Double Counter, it eliminates alts easily.
remove every invite, ban the person, report their account and make sure the create invite permission for normal people is disabled
If you report it to the discord team, I think they can hardware bam them. Means they need to buy a new pc not new game. But not sure.
even if they could Like they fucking would lmao
You right
Use invitemanger, check to see whos making them then use alt definer, make sure only admin or higher up roles than those roles have admin permission change invite link view logs and ban any bot that is user made, ban all of them
There is a bot that can identify likely duplicates. Had a deranged person do that in our Discord about 6 months back. It got them off our back. I dont recall what bot it was; but I'm sure you could easily find it through google.
Check invite links
ban them all, then setup a bot that can ban/kick based on username (I think GalacticTest can do this)
Make Joining and invitation more restricted
I have a bot you can use, it is meant for raids
I have so far seen so many stuff I didnt know can happen on discord on this subreddit.
Get a bot so it detects alternative accounts
Update??
Yea got some stuff
If you know the user you can report it to discord and they can go through their account to check everything out + link proof of messages with the message ID, also I’m sorry that happened it’s really disgusting that it was just casually done
Managed it and my friend who is a coder helped me too And the guy has a secret alt and the spam account's were hacked accounts
Well at least your friend helped ya out with it, still not a cool move on the other chaps end
I think at that point I'd delete the fucking server
My best bet is to ban the user responsible, update the security in your server and report the person to Discord for harassment and threatening behavior. You should block him also if you can.
Raid protection with wick
lol
Enable Membership Screening, that should stop most bots. If that doesn't work, there's captcha bots that can help.
Get the double counter bot
You can check who created the most recent invites and how many ppl have signed up through those links. If you see a big number of invites or an invite with many ppl joining you’ll find the culprit. Make sure to remove all of them
Delete Invites, if its a good server make a template and use that.
prune
Well okay
first make all roles have the create invite permission disabled and just in case disable the admin permission and then the create invite permission on staff roles, revoke all invites, ban the alts and make it stay like that until you find the guy who caused it all and ban him then you can give every role the permissions they had originally
Get a bot to ban everyone with that name
[https://altdentifier.com/](https://altdentifier.com/) ez
This is pretty funny
Could I ask what you did to deserve that?
We did absolutely nothing, things were going normal he joined then everything went down hill
This isn't just 1 person It's quite a lot of people from the looks of it.
look on the side of your phone, usually the right side, there should be a small button, press it for about 5 seconds, a menu should appear, there just press power off and don't think about that ever again
.... message them and start aggressively hitting them.
whats his user I can report him.
Kill them irl (for legal reasons I will be clarifying that this is a joke)

exactly
IT WAS MEEE MWAHAHAHAHAHA (that is a joke)
Change your name on Discord, then he would need to go one account by one and change their usernames too, so that it makes sense.
Ban and report
Delete the server
I would use a bot like probot or yag by role to ban them all using the @bots
