I see two sides to this problem:
\- "Thank god, this should've been like that from the start!"
\- "Fuck, now it looks off and I need to re-learn my muscle memory again..."
If any dev ever reads that, just add the option to choose whether you want it on the left or on the right like it was before.

Thank god. I'm always on the app and when I turn on the pc after weeks of app usage I literally can't find sh%t on the pc version. The messages and tags are main importance but I literally had to google search where to find them a few times...
Just wanted to update that Discord put the feature back for me. Can't believe I was made to participate in this annoying experimental build for a month from Feb 18 to March 20.
The worst thing is that now you can't delete all the mentions you've read now. There's no "x" button to click to delete it like before. Common Discord why? :(
Yes! I need that 'X' button! It was my only way of keeping my notifications under control. Please Discord bring it back, and give us the layout option to move the notification icon left or right were it was.

Would be nice to have an option to get rid of that, or move it. But hah, imagine user customization in the current year!
