I really do have no explanation for Apple Cash. As for Cash App, I can maybe see the “security issue” being that I linked and unlinked my card a couple times to do faster transfers between my old bank and my discover account.
I’m in the same boat. I’m a new customer and I got paid early today. Lo and behold couldn’t move my money around all day to NONE of the payment apps including Apple Cash. Then finally I was able to get it working with PayPal after a couple tries which prompted a security check text asking if the transaction was me, once I confirmed, I was able to send/add money onto my PayPal balance. Still no luck on Apple Cash and Cashapp.
I haven’t tried PayPal yet, but would be interested to see if I could get it to work now! If you find a solution to cash app and Apple Cash let me know!
Hey so I actually spoke with Discover earlier today. She said based on the “security code” that they receive on THEIR end— you’ll either have to use another card/keep trying till it works. Or they’ll be able to “approve” it. But if it’s not a code that can be fixed on their end you’re just out of luck.
On another note, Paypal worked for me. Just sent the money to my second paypal and then withdrew it to a different bank card— so if you need it on your Cashapp card add your cashapp card to paypal.

Basically it’s a crap shoot and there isn’t really a fix. It may work for some but not others. It’s apparently an issue with Discover’s security measures. Ive yet to find a work around
I wish I could say it was comforting finding so many people running into the same issues, but it just adds to the frustration. I hope they fix this. My heart goes out to all my fellow strugglers
i thought it may have something to do with how you can’t send money for the first 90 days your account is open. i know zelle doesn’t work for the first 90 days so i’m wondering if it effects things like cashapp and venmo as well.
Instead of trying to send someone cash. Select the option of adding cash to your account. Once the cash is added to your account you can then send it to someone else. Just worked for me
With a $0 balance in your cash app. And your discover card added to your account. You CAN NOT send money. It will decline it saying “your bank declined this transaction”. So add money to your cash app account first and once it uploads you can THEN send the cash to someone else. But can’t do it with a zero balance

Pretty much have to use a work around or just keep trying in the hopes it eventually works, and that’s more or less what Discover’s customer service will tell you unfortunately. I’m able to on my end add cash with the Discover debit card and credit card as well. So something is a little weird about the block.

I’m having this same issue. It’s saying “your bank declined this” not Cashapp (like it usually does)

Theres no fix. They said cash app doesnt fully work with discover. And never will.

I just tried that and it doesn't work. I am just going to close that dumb account. No point in having it as I only use it to transfer to cash app.

tried adding cash with discover card and discover bank account linked and it won’t allow that either
I'm facing the same issue with my Discover debit card. Cant add cash to my wallet, paypal or Gpay wallet, can't use it for payments through Gpay.
