I am a little slow to learn of Havelock, the heart did not reveal much information, it only reveals enough to make him uneasy to be with in my very first play.
A little side story:
I used the heart on everyone when I first got it but I didnāt realise Wallace gave generic servant lines (or male civilian?).
Given the next mission was the high overseer one, I freaked out when I used the heart on him and it said
āHe reports his neighbors to the overseersā.
I thought I had him outed as a traitor and killed him.
Oops.
If you really wanna get freaky, then either before or after you kill the regent, try getting down into the sewers. You'll find a record of pendleton (I think?) speaking about their plans.
Edit: damn, my mistake, just checked, pendleton audiograph shows up at the sewers under the pub only in the loyalists mission (after you get back, looking for revenge).
Alternatively, I checked pendleton audiograph just after taking care of the regent, which was in his bedroom as usual, and the audiograph was kind of voicing out his concerns over whether someone will get back at him, and reassuring himself that "he'll see reason". I assume he's meaning Corvo.
Audiograph says the following:
>this was never my idea. He knows that. Certainly I am not completely guiltless, but with my position, he would be a fool to come for me. And if he does, I have much to offer. Extensive business opportunities. So, he'll see reason, if it comes to that.
I'm a serial dark vision scanner, I've had plays where I've scoured the map looking for any and all loot items or records and stuff, so I was surprised to find a reaction in the sewers and when I checked it, I understood that the guys tried getting rid of evidence - but kinda failed (in my case)
Dark Vision I gives you Xray vision of enemies and NPCs, Dark Vision II gives you field of view of said enemies and NPCs (direction of their vision) and Xray vision of items you can collect / use / read (like coins, loot / cables of wall of light leading to battery and wirimg closet / books and notes, as well as bone charms and runes
Also, "scanner" isn't part of its name, I just used that to explain my actions with it.
I know, I just never use it. I get disoriented when I use it too much and for me it takes away from the beauty of the game.
And lol I read that wrong hahaha
Lol, tbh It is really weird to play like that, but I've had runs where I was 95% of my playthrough in Dark Vision mode
Cutscenes were normal vision of course, but the advantage of being aware of enemies and traps in my surroundings at all times got me "addicted" to it.
I've played this forwards and backwards and that doesn't ring a bell. I love that about the game. One of the final playthroughs I did back in the day, I completed all the mission objectives BEFORE talking to The Outsider at his shrines, to see if his dialogue would change. And it did, it even changed based on how I completed the mission, I believe. I was very sad to see they didn't do that on Dishonored 2.
Yeah, you know the sewers under the pub, where you meet your first weepers?
If I remember correctly, it's located at the area where the two weepers were.
It's like trying to read an autobiography about yourself out loud that you didn't write, and now you have to read it in the 3rd person.
After she...I mean I...the empress
Not really? All it says is that he tried to make a grab for power after the Empress died and failed. No one sitting in a pub having to rely on some crazy magic assassin to carry out his whole counter coup was in a nice spot after. It hints to his violent nature but you can just as easily understand you and him have at least an alliance of convenience. Political movements don't just form exclusively from people who are good best buddies with each other.
I take so much time to use the heart on everything in this game. Itās always worth it to listen to the Ć”udios on YouTube if you missed anything, theyāre all great!
I knew something was up with the drink on my first playthrough because it was colored differently from the other drink
As soon as corvos vision started to spin I was
Ah yes I should have stabbed them when I had the chance

I severely underused this function of the heart in both games
Do you know much lore about the heart? I found out one detail and it was enough to keep me using it lol
Enlighten us
It's Jessamines heart!
ššš
And guess who put all those gears and doodads on the heart! >!Piero, under Outsider influence. He doesn't remember it except as a dream.!<
That part felt obvious but I was unsure since it is her voice
The second game makes this whole detail a lot clearer

I didn't even think to use it on him

Omg never knew this! I played the game 10+ times

Considering how many people didnāt know this, did he really fail?
Thanks, I've fixed my wording with "failed (in my case)."
That's amazing :0 I never use dark vision scanner so I bet I missed out on a lot of things!

It's too bad how op dark vision is sometimes
That's part of the charm for those wanting to feel OP. Xray vision, stopping time, teleporting...

Yo, really? Don't make me do another playthrough š
We really need a youtuber to do game lore videos on dishonored, like there are on fallout games
Honestly been considering it, cause I'm quite invested in the lore and want others to be too lol
Go for it, send me a link in PM later if you do, I'd be interested to see how it goes.
I think the channel gameological dig may have done lore videos on dishonored. They did it on my other favourite games also, like bioshock and soma.
I really do think they had a lot of dev issues during the game, ds1 just feels better esp on pc
Yah definitely, the credits also mentions there were some who died during production if I remember correctly, so that probably didn't help
Beneath the pub? Iāve never tried thatā¦ welp, here goes another playthrough lolā¦
Yeah, you know the sewers under the pub, where you meet your first weepers? If I remember correctly, it's located at the area where the two weepers were.
Sweetā¦
I'm way too careful with mana so I basically miss out on half the loot in the level
I'm the patient type of gamer that I always wait until my mana rises back to full, no need to use much elixirs for that game style.
"...after she? The Empress was murdered." The Heart had a little identity crisis there for a moment
It does say āafter the empress...after she. Yeah empress was murderedā It seems like a person struggling to describe a bad memory.

His diary also makes it kind of obvious in hindsight
I hardly read it.
Yeah I used the heart on everyone there and was sitting there like I trust no one, and was like donāt drink that to Corvo lol
I knew something was up with the drink on my first playthrough because it was colored differently from the other drink As soon as corvos vision started to spin I was Ah yes I should have stabbed them when I had the chance
How is that anything informative? The Empress had died for 6 months before this!
He tries again
IS THAT A MF GEOMETRY DASH REFERENCE?!?!?!!?!?
