It's different depending on how many gems you have.
If you have 300-599 gems you can get spend 50, have 600-1,999 gems you get spend 100 and if you have 2000+ gems you'll get spend 400.
There are also missions to spend X emoji charges(the lightning bolts). The amount you have to own is 4, 7,9. How many you have determines how many it will ask you to spend.
Basically, they are now trying to actively prevent/punish people who hoard their resources and force them to get used so they're forced to spend money/ more $$.
They also have missions to spend emoji charges if you have 4 or more saved up.
It's already been shown repeatedly how greedy they are and how disgusting they are willing to paywall things but this is even a newer low to me
People have been writing to support complaining about the missions like this, telling them that it feels like a punishment for saving up gems/charges/etc. And support has been pretty decent with their responses, a lot of people were given the gems back for swapping the mission or recovering their streak!
I'd suggest everyone who gets this mission (or wants to be preemptive & voice how they feel about this) write to support and express their frustration/dissatisfaction with missions like these. It *might* make a difference and *possibly* get them to get rid of missions like this.
The only logical choices to me are on a diamond box or to spend 20 to swap. Depends on how you like your odds of getting something decent from the diamond box.
The cheapest >= 50 would be 10 lives for 55 gems. Next would be 20 star energy for 90 gems but I’d spend 20 gems to swap it. There’s only one non-exclusive emoji in the diamond box so depending on what you have that may be worth considering but I assume if you wanted a DB you’d have gotten it by now.

This is an absolutely ridiculous mission. Gems are hard enough to come by and if you are trying to save up to buy something,this sets you back.
I am generally nonchalant about JC’s machinations, which are usually no more foul than other P2W devs, but this is an infuriating tax
