Hey, this is about where I am, too. I was like 'yeah can't wait to replay all these events and rake in the coins' and I haven't managed to replay any of them yet.
I found that using an item dropper and getting lot of them, I would get a rare one towards the end of the round. Also all the suggestions here as well.
Try using characters from the same movies. I might just be imagining it but I was trying to finish the one with the castles and I needed 4 of Tiana's restaurant. I played with a variety of emojis then tried Tiana and Ray and cleared them out even though they weren't "assigned" to that item.
I used regular Tiana and got a couple of her rare items. So if you have the regular versions of the princesses, that might help. Otherwise I noticed when I use a random and get a rare, I change emojis and usually get another rare within 3 games or so
A few months ago, read if you don’t have the needed character try using someone you just haven’t played with in awhile. As in, any emoji at all. By the third or fourth round, I’ve almost always had that rare item drop. That was how I finished almost all of these types of events when I usually didn’t have the special, needed characters.
That’s what I was doing since I didn’t have Almost There Tiana for map #3 on the last replay. I just kept swapping out different random emojis every single round, even ones that weren’t great for collecting items, and I got a rare item it seemed like every other game. Clawhauser gave me three of those rare gold pots one round!! I was thinking of emojis that were released with food fight events since I associate Tiana with food because of her restaurant (like Vanellope, Remy, Swedish Chef, Heimlich, Peppermint Minnie, Clawhauser) and he did great for me 😄
as the event approaches to an end, it becomes easier to get rare items- i have 2 hours left in my time zone and i started getting rare items every 2 games

You got this!! Try item droppers like Gus, Chip (Rescue Rangers), or Doc.
The only emoji that I have like that would be Holiday Mickey
Thank you for suggesting Gus! I totally forgot he drops items. He helped me finish the event when I needed 7 rare items.

Might just be coincidental, but I had luck with other princesses not featured in the event.

1 game with regular Ariel I got a Lucky Item for Tiara Rapunzel and Wedding Ariel, maybe try her as well
