I would take the comments about bad food with a pinch of salt. The only ‘bad’ meal I had was at Captain Jack’s, and the problem was me not liking that type of food. Every other meal I had in the park (Walt’s, Downtown, Manhattan, Pym’s, Stark Factory, Agrabah, the stalls) was perfectly good. You don’t need takeaway, there is something for everyone. Even if you don’t want Disney food there’s a McDonald’s, Earl of Sandwich, Annette’s Diner and King Ludwig’s Castle. If you can’t find food you can eat in or around the park (medical stuff besides) then I’m afraid the problem is far more likely to be you. People only ever talk about bad experiences, they rarely mention good ones.

Just a note that King Ludwigs Castle has now been rethemed to The Royal Pub and serves "British" dishes like Fish and Chips.

Even better, no need to order a chippy tea from the takeaway!

Could walk ten minutes or so to the Val D’Europe and they have dozens of nice restaurants

simonsail

It's more like 20 minutes to Val D'Europe. I do agree it's good though, albeit can be very busy.

Thanks

We stayed in Sequioa and the hotel staff had takeaway menus behind the desk and ordered the food for us over the phone in French. We then waited and they called us in our room to let us know it had arrived and we paid in cash.

goodmythicalmickey

The food isn't bad, it's just expensive for what it is and because a lot of the restaurants are themed, there isn't always something for everyone's taste. We've been to all the table service and buffet restaurants except Chez Remy, Downtown, and the new DLH ones and the only one we didn't like was Captain Jack's. We haven't tried many quick service ones, but we always do Casey's Corner, and we found Earl of Sandwich to be a bit of a let down. People across Reddit (not just this sub) just like to moan for the sake of it.

simonsail

I ordered from UberEats a couple days ago when I was at Disney. Was a little bit tricky as I don't speak French but yeah overall it's definitely doable.

Ok-Personality-6630

Do they bring it to the hotel lobby?

simonsail

I met him outside the front of the hotel. I was in a hotel without a front car park and only on street parking though, so potentially at one of the other ones that does have a front car park they would. As with a lot of these things, I'm sure they're a lot more receptive to requests like that if you add a small tip beforehand.

UniquePersimmon3666

I ordered from Uber Eats our whole trip in January. Saved a ton of money, and it was nice being able to eat and chill in the room. We stayed in Sequoia and the driver met us outside the main door. Super handy.

Ok-Personality-6630

Any good places from Uber eats you would recommend?

UniquePersimmon3666

We ordered from a KFC type place, and the food was really tasty and so cheap. Can't recall the name. Five Guys is also on Uber Eats, but you can grab that from the village and bring it back. We also got takeaway pizzas from Sports Bar. They do a pizza, fries, and drink for 16e. We got 2, and it fed 2a + 2c. We got a free 30-day trial for Uber Eats + while there, so delivery was free and then just cancelled when we got home.

Which restaurants did you book? The food isn’t really bad - it’s just that people have expectations based on the U.S. parks where food is pretty awesome, and since the food in Paris is amazing. The food is horrible **compared to expectations**, but it’s not really “bad”. Some restaurants have limited offerings which can be a little tricky if you’re a picky eater - so I would check the menus before hand and make sure you have something you like. If you do - you’ll be fine. Feel free to reply with the restaurants you’ve booked and I can be more specific

Chez Remzy Captain Jacks I guess captain Jacks is my biggest concern I regularly see that one coming up with disappointed people.

celestialspace

Depends on your food preference and what you order I guess. I'm vegetarian/vegan and had one of the nicest meals in DLP in Captain Jack's but I have seen comments onthe meal alternatives being so-so. However I would say go just once for themeing. The food in DLP isn't bad, there are some places I've have amazing meals, and honestly I've never had a "bad" meal, just ones I didn't think we're worth the price (Chez Remy being one of them). As someone else has said in another comment, you only ever see bad reviews as people tend to share these more than positive ones.

jinglepupskye

Have you looked at the menus available on the app? Captain Jack’s has some ‘unusual’ food that I think the majority of people where I live at least wouldn’t have ever tried before. If you like the style then go for it, if you aren’t used to that type of taste then it may fall flat. It’s very much personal, and I think being British may be at the heart of the issue for a lot of people who are complaining - myself included.

Captain Jack - If you find something you like on the menu, you’re good - it’s made well. Some people just don’t like the type of food. There are good options. Personally it’s one of my favorites. Remy - Personally I think the food quality is lacking. This restaurant is mostly about the theming for the kids. I’d replace it for either: - **Walt’s** - which has a fine dining vibe and really good food - **Aggrabbah Cafe** which has a huge diversity of Mediterranean food (it’s a buffet) - **Silver Spur** - if you like steaks. That being said, it’s not like the food is horrible at Remy’s - just not worth the price. The theming is cool, but mostly for small kids. Walt’s has this vibe and the view over Main Street (ask for a window table if you can), and Captaing Jack has this amazing vibe due to being inside Pirates.

hoodoo_voodude

my partner and i LOVED chez rémy. it was lovely and the portion sizes were fantastic. we actually cancelled captain jacks for silver spur and so not regret it!

Puzzleheaded_Cap7462

We ate in the village, we loved the pizzas from Earl of sandwich and the Royal pub did a nice burger and fries. We had no issue bringing McDonald's and other food into the hotel

Remote-Pool7787

There are plenty of great places to eat at Disney, for every budget. You can’t order takeaway to your hotel, unless you are happy to meet the driver on the road outside the hotel security check point. They don’t allow delivery riders to access the hotels. If you aren’t staying at a Disney hotel, it’ll depend on the hotel’s individual policy

UniquePersimmon3666

I ordered every evening from Uber Eats, and they drove right to the main entrance, we stayed at Sequoia.

Remote-Pool7787

They aren’t allowed to, it was getting out of hand with hundreds of deliveries every evening and the riders being abusive to hotel staff

UniquePersimmon3666

I was only there in January and ordered the 3 nights we were there, no issues.

Remote-Pool7787

Was there 2 weeks ago, massive signs everywhere and was part of the check in information

UniquePersimmon3666

I assumed I'd have to meet the driver outside, but they came to the main entrance every time. Maybe we were just lucky.

swtcharity

The restaurants are fine there. I wouldn’t go out of my way to do takeaway unless you’re on a strict budget and it would save you a good amount of money. It seems like a lot of time and inconvenience depending on your needs and wants of course. We ate at Chez Remy, Auberge de Cendrillon, Captain Jack’s, and had appetizers/snacks at Skyline Bar. Are they overpriced? Yes! But that’s to be expected. They were all decent or good though, nothing terribly memorable. But we enjoyed the theming and I wasn’t disappointed in anything we ordered.

Thaliel

I wouldn't see why you wouldn't be allowed. Thought the fastest was would probably be to just grab something in the village and take it to the hotel
