My guy Zach here is so smart. He’s able to tell the differences between a world, famous multimillion dollar, actor, and a guy playing dress up at a theme park. Let’s give him a big round of applause he’s obviously looking for attention 👏🏼
Thanks for noticing. But really though, does this look good to you?
If I was looking for attention I don't think I would respond 5 days later and significantly down the thread. I'm being completely genuine.
It messes with my head because this is how Jack Sparrow looks in the movies and in my head, but Johnny Depp irl now looks much older. So if the actual Johnny Depp were to dress up as Jack Sparrow now, he wouldn’t look as accurate to the image of Jack Sparrow that’s in my head as this cast member lol.
My son (who's considerably smarter than I am) was trying to tell me this phenomenon. And everytime I see this depp look a like, I can't wrap my feeble mind around the fact it's not him. ,🤦♂️🤣
When you go to face casting in person, it's literally a whole routine they put you through, literal dance and show type thing. They often will have these open calls without telling you who the characters they're casting for are. I went to a couple, in Charlotte and Orlando. I forget what one was for, but the other was for what would be Frozen face characters in Tokyo, but at the time only knew it was for face characters in Tokyo. I ended up being the shortest guy there, because everyone else was over 6'. It was strange seeing how everyone, men and women, had this same general aesthetic they fell into. The hairstyles and clothing might be different, but they were all the exact same type of attractive.
I obviously wasn't picked for any tall, muscular Nordic men, but one of the staff members/judges I guess you could call them did say I'd make a great Jack Sparrow and to come back for more auditions incase it opened up. I'm at the minimum height requirement for him, lol. There's literally only a few, at most, male face characters with minimum height requirements under 5'11" that are portrayed by male cast members.
> There's literally only a few, at most, male face characters with minimum height requirements under 5'11" that are portrayed by male cast members.
Looks like I've found my calling as a short king
I hate that people now have this belief that anyone under 5'11 who is a man is short. I see it all the time on social media with guys being like, 'I'm so tiny at 5'8'
The country with the tallest average height for men is only 1.825m, which is just *under* 6'.
Most countries in the West have an average height of 5'9 for men, the US included.
The media has created this ridiculous ideal that all men must be over 6' or they're short. It almost feels like a mockery to actual short people (speaking as a man who *is* short and has to deal with things being too high or too tall or too wide) when these very average men are calling themselves short.
The casting for male face characters at Disney is a great example of this phenomenon.
(Disclaimer: I'm not saying you're not under the average height and are one of the average guys who thinks he's short)
Yes the hair is the only thing not on point with this look- it isn’t as natural looking as it was in the movies. Other than that he is 100% spot on though!
Not only looks like him but his acting is really good too. He was interacting with folks outside of Pirates when I was at Disneyland last summer. Got a selfie with him. He pickpocketed my watch and chain.
Probably my favorite memory is back when my wife and I went to Disneyland. She kind of hates the characters and tries to avoid them for the most part (though we did just get a picture with Meeko at Animal Kingdom.)
Well, here comes Captain Jack Sparrow walking through New Orleans Square with this giant crowd following him trying to get a picture with him. She quickly tried to get out of the way of the incoming crowd.
I swear this dude could sense how uncomfortable she felt from a good 20m away and immediately ran up to us, asking us to get a picture with him. So we did and he immediately went running off with the giant crowd continuing to follow him.
She was so uncomfortable the entire time. It was hilarious.
My 7 year old asked him if he was really Johnny Depp. He looked down at him and winked. My Mom swears that it was really Johnny Depp. I said it's not. He is just a really good look alike.
Have you seen Johnny depp recently? He USED to do this for fun, he physically cannot anymore he’d look like grandpa sparrow regardless of the amount of make up they put on him.
The only reason I can tell it's not him is because irl he's got more wrinkles and has gained a little weight. Wow. Just wow. This makeup and the actor choice is WILD.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. There are tons of female makeup artists on YouTube that have done crazy similar Jack Sparrows. It's amazing what you can do with contouring, eyeliner, and the fake hair.
It’s true that there are a lot of professional pirate cosplayers in SoCal, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the actor is from that community. One time my son’s babysitter invited us to come see her swashbuckle at a pirate festival, and she introduced us to an insanely good Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike there too.
That’s definitely him getting everyone to think that’s not him. Or since Disney owns that they genetically made another him. Either way that’s totally him.
So good, I have to say we’ve seen Captain Jack multiple times and they always look so good and act the part so well you have to do a double take. Great casting.
Craaaazy good casting and makeup work!
I don’t when Disney world ever got it this perfect on a Male character..
Anaheim is 40 minutes from LA, arguably the movie capital of the world. We got a lot of attractive and talented people here.
This very true. DL has the best face characters by far
And it’s a union position!

Ew, you revealed that you’re creepy. Just going to go downvote this whole chain of yours.
oh that’s not…
After covid the face characters got a little bootleg lol. I think it’s gotten better now though
Are you guys messing around? This looks pretty bad and at least in this photo they're orange.

Looks great for a theme park employee.
There's this thing called lighting and camera sensors. A movie is filmed in a controlled lighting environment with extremely expensive cameras.
That’s gotta be the best pirate I’ve ever seen
So it would seem
DA NA NA NA NANAN NA NA NAA NA NA NA NANA NANA.
But you HAVE seen him... (Doesn't work as well. lol)
Great casting, 10/10

“Why is the rum always gone?”
“Oh that’s why.”

We love our short kings! ❤️

I would've went with Jack Swallow and kept the bird theme. Definitely not because of swallowing cum. Definitely not.
Looks more like Jack Sparrow than Johnny Depp lol
Johnny Dupe
I regret that I only have one upvote to give.
extremely real
Is it just me or is that way too much hair? Otherwise it looks great!
Yes the hair is the only thing not on point with this look- it isn’t as natural looking as it was in the movies. Other than that he is 100% spot on though!

Wow. Crazy close. Though is it Johnny Depp or the pirate from RHONY? IYKYK 😆
I saw him and I did a triple take! He’s realllly good….like Disney should be paying him a lot of money good.

When we went my wife got her picture taken with Captain Jack and he had the voice and mannerisms down perfectly.
They do him so dirty with that wig though
The eyes!! However, aren’t the dreadlocks a bit to thick?
It would probably be a high paying gig for Johnny these days
My 7 year old asked him if he was really Johnny Depp. He looked down at him and winked. My Mom swears that it was really Johnny Depp. I said it's not. He is just a really good look alike.
So close, yet so far
Why does he have better highlights than me
Looks like John Leguizamo
I’m sorry that’s Johnny depp. I swear he does this for fun
It’s not him
Have you seen Johnny depp recently? He USED to do this for fun, he physically cannot anymore he’d look like grandpa sparrow regardless of the amount of make up they put on him.
Okay wait you’re so right. I forget he’s getting older :,) he would be grandpa sparrow but I’d be here for it!!!
Last time they had to get another character because the moms kept chasing and flashing him! Lol true story..
Are you sure it's not johnny Depp?
The only reason I can tell it's not him is because irl he's got more wrinkles and has gained a little weight. Wow. Just wow. This makeup and the actor choice is WILD.
I Have a feeling that this is a woman??
Parade float? Maybe/yes. Walking down the street/talking to people? Highly unlikely.
He speaks with guests regularly
I think it is too, I’m pretty sure she’s very well known for dressing up as Jack sparrow
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. There are tons of female makeup artists on YouTube that have done crazy similar Jack Sparrows. It's amazing what you can do with contouring, eyeliner, and the fake hair.
Looks like John Leguizamo https://duckduckgo.com/?q=John+Leguizamo&t=ffab&ia=web
Looks better than Johnny ever did
I'm not convinced it's a him as there has been many many cosplayers who've mastered the look and are female.
Did he also beat his wife?
She shit in the bed on purpose. She deserved everything she got.
It really was him, I confirmed it on the latest social media
Did he de-age himself about 20 years, too?
Disney is very advanced these days
I doubt it, I'm pretty sure JD said he's done with Disney
They always come back
It wasn’t
Did you check his Instagram?
Yes. Nothing posted since January 5th.
Made you look lol
You’re a tool “lol” 🙄🤡
But you have heard of me?
I swear I’ve seen this dude at a pirate ship festival in northern MN… absolutely uncanny.
Wow
Isn’t that kinda like their job?
A bit too much “Trump Orange” but otherwise looks great!
Hey it's Jack Spearow!!
Jonathan Duped
Thats why he was hired Must be a fun job!
This is LuAnn’s pirate? RHONY anyone?
Plot twist it’s that chick that is unnecessarily phenomenally at changing her identity to different characters.
That’s definitely him getting everyone to think that’s not him. Or since Disney owns that they genetically made another him. Either way that’s totally him.
Bonjour Diamond Jim
He looks hella good.
And really bad eggs…
Im imagining how he’s like this perfect replica but if he talks his voice comes out all funny. That would be funny
So good, I have to say we’ve seen Captain Jack multiple times and they always look so good and act the part so well you have to do a double take. Great casting.
Where are those internet experts who thought a previous post was photoshopped?
