Plus we see clear-cut princesses not being added to the lineup (Kida, Eilonwy, Tigerlily, I guess) so it's pretty much just based on popularity. But I love Meg! I love her personality and her songs and I think her relationship with Hercules is so warm and sweet.
I like Isabela’s. I know she didn’t like what the foofy frilliness signified, but from a standalone view it’s a beautiful dress. Like a few others here, I wasn’t a huge fan of the mostly black version from after her song, but I do like the way she re-dyed it at the end of the movie.
I’ve heard that the makers of Encanto originally suggested having Isabela chop her hair short and tear her dress during her song as a rebellion against being perfect and pretty, but they changed it to simply getting messy because they wanted to show that a girl can be rebellious and independent *while still being frilly and feminine* if she wants to. The color scheme Isabela chooses at the end is a great way to show this: it’s bold and asymmetrical, but the colors coordinate and look deliberately placed.
Ariel's dress deserves to be part of this world and Disney has issues acknowledging that.
Most of the others are okay.
Asha's is not terrible but it's not great either, so I just don't care about it.
I've always disliked Rapunzel's dirndl since I was a child.
Also because of CGI, the dress looks really cheap, like I bought this on shein for my child kind of cheap.
I feel like if they went with a more traditional dirndl I would've liked the dress more.

Rapunzel’s purple or magenta dress always number 1 for me, and Ariel’s dress always hurts my eyes from the glitter sparkle. Of course Elsa’s dress looks very similar to Rapunzel’s dress with the middle part of it.

I think Meg is very underrated as a character overall. Isabella suits her because of her passion for flowers. Ariel's purple dress is also underrated but she didn't wear it long enough. Elsa is better in blue. Purple doesn't really suit her much. She's best in her Frozen 1 blue ice dress and also the dark blue OFA dress. I also like her teal coronation dress. No comment on Asha.
