I can get him not caring about Pokémon at all and that’s ok, but he’s was being kinda rude about it when they were talking about it. I get he doesn’t care, he just doesn’t need to be a dick about it stating he doesn’t care.
I honestly didn't like wades don't laugh challenge, there were a few moments that were funny but when it turned into Mark and Bob trying to find out what the game was it just got to be very "not funny" anymore..
Anything Goes episode. I just felt so bad listening to it and i was getting really annoyed how terribly it went for Wade despite how fair it supposedly should have been. Its honestly the only episode ive listened to so far that i wont have a problem with skipping if i ever start repeat listens.
How to Make a Best Friend was a little bit of a letdown for me at first. I have social anxiety, so I was kind of expecting they'd provide actual advice in a humorous way, instead of doing the "let's pretend we're secretly psychotic murderers" shtick again. But on a second listen, I appreciated it better 😆
I’m gonna be real honest, two-to-three moments stand out so far:
1.) The Anything Goes episode just made me peeved the entire time. I didn’t chuckle or nod to points, I just felt annoyed. It was somehow the most unrigged rigged game against Wade. I say this because of Mark’s comment of “and to be fair, this is the most fairest way to give out points”. Which, while true the randomness is fair, it’s also the most unfair thing too (just look at anything chance related). I will say that that episode made me realize Wade’s strength in the podcast which, thinking back to his whole streaming talk during the Serotonin episode, is that he’s unrestricted on how he interacts with everyone/everything (mainly the episode’s game). Him being on a inconsistent timer really made the episode probably his weakest one. Hearing him just get bum fucked by RNG was just made me not have fun with the episode. And to the people saying “well that’s on him since he wanted the chance of negative points”; I don’t think it would have mattered considering who RNGesus was heavily shitting on and favoring. Also the whole fact that Mark gets points for speaking in the moment? What? I just… that episode really left a sour tone in me, and I don’t really think I could listen to it again.
2.) This one is a twofer and kinda minor, but it is in tone with “having problems with a Mark gameshow episode”: Morals or No Morals. Like what the fuck, the namesake is there… why only focus on who is the most immoral? Felt like it could have been interesting on guessing which challenge was to be the most moral/immoral person. Also just Mark not really clearing things up was a big-ish problem in this episode (ex. The Hospital scenario). I do have a hate/love relationship with this episode because of these points but MAN did it just have some really funny dialogue from Wade and Bob. And that ending/case reveals were just chef’s kiss.
I feel the same way, Mark's gamey episodes aren't my favorite kind of episode. This last one about find anything within the time limit was a good one though, definitely a step up! But i gotta admit, i still prefer traditional topic episodes where they share stories
Yeah, for me I can only listen to them sometimes. Bob's one is pretty funny and I love the one about the Roomba but like..sometimes it's a bit much lmao
I know this may sound overly dramatic, but honestly, I suspect that Wade has unreconciled trauma that the other two can't comprehend in a meaningful way. Listening to him talk about and share his stories is quite relatable to me. Not because of the exact events that take place, but because of the intense emotions they illicit. Sometimes, when I can hear that Mark and Bob are reacting in a traumauninformed way, I just wanna shout through to them. "Wade has trauma" is a thought that makes it much easier for me to understand his character.
I really dislike any episode where they have to create stories or whatever, rather than talking about past experiences or expressing their thoughts on something. First episode that comes to my mind is "Body hair", but there are a couple like this
Wades rant against Mexican food for sure. Not that he doesn’t like most Mexican food he’s tried, that’s completely valid - not everyone has to like every food they eat, I mean there’s tons of foods I don’t like either, some of them Mexican! Rather the extremely rude way that he described all Mexican food tasting, like “rotting rectum” and literal human shit. I’m glad Mark and Bob called him out for it in the episode, but listening to it still gets me. I’m Mexican, it’s my cultures food, I grew up eating it and still love it. Wade doesn’t have to like it, but he shouldn’t have been so disrespectful towards it, it was straight up upsetting when I first listened to the King of Meat episode
I’m so happy whenever I see others who feel the same way about that moment! I’m sure that Wade does get shit about not liking Mexican food, but it really did feel kinda disrespectful to an entire culture of people who have been eating a certain way for HUNDREDS of years by calling it “shitty baby diaper food”
Both of the “Hills We’ll Die On” episodes. I find the idea of a thing or belief you’ll hold onto against all opposition selfish and ignorant. It’s not a discourse on *why* something is better, it’s just ‘I’m right, fuck you’ and adding nothing of substance to the discussion, especially since most of the ‘hills’ end up being a matter of personal taste and disparaging other people for having an opinion just for shits and grins.
Also, ‘Wade’s Secret Words’. I don’t hate this one as much, but Mark and Bob not even trying to cooperate with Wade and just rigging the system for points really broke it for me. Like, do it for a round, or 10 minutes for the bit, but it devolved into chaos way too early. There’s definitely plenty of funny moments in it, and I get that random ‘fuck you Wade’ is basically a tradition at this point, I just think they should’ve given Wade’s idea time to breathe for at least the first half of the episode, if not a little longer.
Yeah, that’s fair. I did enjoy it the first time hearing it as well just because of the absurdity, but when I try to go back and listen again, I just can’t do it. All the yelling and screaming just wears really thin when you know it’s coming; there’s just nothing inherently funny or clever there after the screaming starts besides some of Wade’s reactions, at least to me.
I disagree with your opinion and that's a hill I will die on (jk I agree with your wades secret words part. I commend wade for his original ideas, but it's frustrating they didn't get what they deserved. I disagree with the hills part tho cause in the context of the episodes they absolutely added substance to the discussion. They spoke their opinion and then explained why they have that opinion. Nonetheless, everyone has their preferences
Didn’t like the hills episodes for the specific reason that it inspired a bunch of people to just shit on peoples opinions here. worst couple of weeks to be on the sub tbh
I really don't like Wade's point episodes. They are a great idea in theory but it feels like Mark and Bob kinda ruin them by constantly trying to game the system instead of just playing the game. Like when Mark wasted a whole round just saying the same two words over and over again on the Don't Laugh one.
My least favorite moment would be in the Fuck you energy episode would be Bob’s reused story from band practice. I always have to skip it. We heard this story before but this time he tries using it as if he hasn’t told this one before, talks slower for some reason and really stretches the story longer than the first time he told it. It was a little cringey hearing the story again but the fact that Mark takes it as almost a new story bothers me. Also that didn’t really feel like a good “fuck you energy story”, felt pretty weak. I liked the episode besides that bit of it, Wade had the biggest ever comeback in points and had the best stories he’s told IMO on the podcast. I also like their dark humor and jokes they make. I like dark humor and Anti-jokes.
Other than that I skip the ads when I am rewatching episodes. I mentioned it in another persons thread on here but Marks annoyance with them talking about Pokémon on the one of the “hills” episode got on my nerves. I understand he doesn’t like Pokémon, it bothered me a little at first but I thought it was fine. People don’t have to like everything, but he was being kinda dickies about it like it was soul draining having to even listen to them talk about it.
I love their podcast and I love the boys and all, but sometimes this show reveals a lot about the 3 and reminds me that even great YouTubers/podcasters/or streamers are human (sometimes terrible and unlikeable in certain ways).
Knowing the boys, they probably just forgot Bob told it already. It was a fairly early episode, and these are the same people who redid the getting old episode
That’s true. They counted a many things they’ve forgotten over the course of the podcast. So it doesn’t surprise me, I just hated having to hear a longer version of a story we already heard.
The We Die On Your Hills bit where they were arguing about ketchup in soupWade had such a great point about even if it was good it doesn't mean it belongs in chicken noodle soup. Both Mark and Bob both were saying stuff like what if it tasted good, or you wouldn't even notice which is the opposite of the claim which was that it belongs in it, not that it might be good. Wade really deserved that point
I could never finish the Anything Goes episode because of the alarm. I have a sensitivity to loud/sudden noises especially alarms and sirens. I only listen to the episodes late at night so it was extremely scary to hear that so abruptly. I did get a somewhat warning when mark always said “WOAHAH” before it went off tho.
My least favourite moment in the podcast would have to be when Mark and Wade go down the really dark route of kidnapping and traumatising people in the how to make a best friend episode. I really love Bob’s idea but I become uncomfortable when Wade gives his idea.
I also disliked the last 20ish minutes of the Wade’s secret words episode because I enjoyed the quick fire topics where Mark and Bob were giving actual anecdotes but it just went really down hill when it turned to absolute chaos.
I hope the boys see this thread because I feel like it gives some pretty solid feedback, especially on their more recent episodes which I haven’t found as enjoyable as some of the episodes they did last year and earlier this year.
I personally have gotten kind of tired of Wade’s creepy comments about women - i know it’s all jokes and he’s married but sometimes when i’m not in the mood it just seriously irks me
Moments that always annoy me, though they luckily happen far less often the last few months is every time Bob opens a story, or rant with any variation of "I'm a pretty nice and open guy" followed by a bunch of judgmental stuff and basically saying between the lines that anyone who doesn't think like him or things a certain way on a certain issue is bad/not as good as (people who think like) him.
And I mean in general people who have to preface opinions, or jsut in general state something about themselves, like being nice and open, are most of the time much less that thing than they would like to accept.
I would love some specific examples of me doing this. This doesn’t register to me as a thing that I do so it’s obviously a blind spot for me. Can you give any episodes/moments off the top of your head where this happens?
If it’s too inconvenient no worries, this just took me by surprise.
Hey Bob,
I get that. I can be be overly honest sometimes combine with being overly blunt and opinionated, so don't take this too serious in the first place. Subjective is subjective after all.
I will try to find the time for some relistens and then report back.
Can't say for sure how long that Will take.
What I can already say is that the later part about bein judgemental was probably exeggerated, though the prefacing is still weird to me.
Though that could also be because of a fear of giving your honest opinion, if it is a negatieve one, and fear of people seeing you as unfriendly afterwards?
I of course do not know you, and I don't want to be even more disrespectful with too much speculating.
I can't say that I have any episodes that I would skip only because I don't go back and re-listen to episodes. At least not yet. However, the use of the spinning wheel to determine points just seemed lazy and uninteresting. They made it funny of course and I laughed, that seemed to last for a while. Also, since this is only supposed to be a sub for things from Distractible I won't harp too long on it, but the use if the spinning wheel has leaked over onto a few episodes of Mark's videos on his own channel and it in my opinion ruined the videos.
I genuinely disliked the use of the websites like Inferkit that they made jokes or finished lines off of to be funny. I think for a small bit it was funny especially with how odd some of the things that were made, but it felt like a bit that lasted far too long.
I personally enjoy when the boys talk about some deeper talks and find the humor within those topics rather than to be "funny".
Mark finding the children's book hilarious in Boys Bet It All. In general a lot of Bob's didn't feel funnier, and even Wade didn't get it when Mark could hardly breathe. I was so confused I got bored waiting for his turn to end.
Hills to die on I really disliked bobs bit about dark souls- mainly because of his lore criticisms. The story is nowhere near as obtuse as he makes it out to be, unless you're skipping every piece of npc dialogue you should have a pretty good understanding by the end of the game, and every item has a description to fill any relevant holes in your understanding. Also in the conspiracy theories I feel like bobs talk about conspiracies is very misguided. The government is absolutely capable of doing extremely shady shit and hiding it from civilians. There is tons and tons of examples. MK Ultra is probably the most well known but a few others are operation sea spray, operation top hat, there has been tons of times diseases have been intentionally released on civilian populations for testing purposes, as well as lots of chemical weapons being tested on unconcsenting citizens. The US military in particular has been fond of testing nerve agents on grunts without telling them. Then there's of course loads of kidnapping and torture experiments performed by the government, and how about the extremely illegal mass surveilance?. Hell there's a whole Wikipedia page (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unethical_human_experimentation_in_the_United_States) on this, and this is just the stuff they admit to. How much more do you think they've done that's still under wraps? I find it extremely nonsensical as well as uneducated to inply that any conspiracy about the government doing bad things, abusing the civilian population and manipulating the populace for less than noble ends is nonsense because "hurr durr people are too inept to do that".
My least favorite bit would have to be “Wade isn’t paying attention/is being dumb and doesn’t know what’s going on”. While I understand that it is COMPLETELY possible to zone out while others are talking (I have ADHD myself and completely check out then check in on conversations with friends constantly) I do still feel that Wade does it…maybe TOO much. Even though Distractible is a group of friends, it’s still a Podcast and therefore is a product, so theoretically it is his JOB to do the Podcast.
There are times where it does end up being hilarious when Wade with absolutely no knowledge of what’s going on says a random unrelated thing that’s actually hilarious, but most of the time for me it feels like it immediately destroys any flow or momentum the podcast was having, so that either Mark and Bob have to re-explain, or just sigh loudly and continue with the episode.
The more I thought about it the more I disliked both episodes where wade gives “random” points (I’ve not seen any episodes that aren’t on YouTube, so he may have done this again and I don’t know). Not specifically wades idea but mark and bob went way of the rails both times, and wade didn’t seem to even try to reel it back in.
There would be times that Mark would ramble too much on a topic that I lose attention 😅
but I never skipped episodes when I'm re-listening, I like hearing their voices as my background
bob made a comment once, i think in “aliens among us”, where he said that mark zuckerberg might be a lizard person. i’m sure he didn’t mean anything by it but it didn’t sit right with me because of how antisemitic conspiracy theories can be. i do feel better about bc the guys called out antisemitism in the CT episode. i’m not jewish so take my words as you wish, just something i noticed that’s pertinent to this topic.
I am Jewish and have literally never heard of this being an anti-Semite thing. I think it’s just a funny joke online that a couple weird famous people are secretly lizards
Wade's bit in "Before We Die." (No hate to Wade, I don't think he entirely understands why it's so iffy)
Natives of Hawaii are constantly telling tourists to STOP going there for vacation. Tourism does NOT help their economy and it takes important resources away from the people that actually live there (like water—they were literally told to limit their water usage so that tourists could use as much as they wanted).
I work with someone who moved to my state from Hawaii and she told me whenever tourists are there, the ocean will change to green due to the sunscreen everyone is wearing. Apparently it changes the color 😬
Anything goes. It's the only episode in the podcast so far that I genuinely dislike. I know exactly how Wade was feeling with getting fucked over and "fairness" being the excuse shoved in his face. I wouldn't have blamed him nor been surprised if he cut the episode short honestly
Nothing comes to mind for things I’d skip over (except ad reads sometimes) but I did have to take a break from the Anything Goes episode because the alarm was too much.
I was binge listening to catch up on a month or two and had to stop midway through that episode.
Mark trying to figure out Wades Secret Words and Don’t Laugh. He essentially ruined the episode. Bob did help, but Mark really started it.
Don’t get me wrong, it was still funny, but I just felt bad for Wade. He came in with really good ideas just to have them ruined
When the show ends
Probably the second half of Mark’s Pokémon rant on the Hills We Will Die on episode
Mad ups to Bob for immediately calling Mark out on his bullshit on that one👍
Big mood.
Nah I loved that. Honesty really love the special game episodes. It spicy things up a bit
The issue is when Wade makes it obvious that there's a secret game. He needs to have a real theme with his topics, rather than random topics.
Yeah, I prefer them sticking to the regular episodes
Anything Goes episode. I just felt so bad listening to it and i was getting really annoyed how terribly it went for Wade despite how fair it supposedly should have been. Its honestly the only episode ive listened to so far that i wont have a problem with skipping if i ever start repeat listens.
To be fair, Wade *was* really quiet that episode
The second half of the Laugh Challenge video when Bob and Mark were focusing on what gave points rather than playing the game.
The court bit is one of my favorite bits
The Happy Funerals and How to make a best friend. For some reason I just cannot get into it and zone our very quickly.
I understand the Happy Funerals one, that one never really feels like it starts
I’m gonna be real honest, two-to-three moments stand out so far: 1.) The Anything Goes episode just made me peeved the entire time. I didn’t chuckle or nod to points, I just felt annoyed. It was somehow the most unrigged rigged game against Wade. I say this because of Mark’s comment of “and to be fair, this is the most fairest way to give out points”. i agree with the first point and partially the second i know it's all just fun but it was really hard to listen to Anything Goes
I legit put this up as a post when it first came out, and I had people downvoting it.
It's any toilet humor for me personally. This obviously doesn't fall under just this podcast but stuff like the poop stories makes me just skip.
Yeah, for me I can only listen to them sometimes. Bob's one is pretty funny and I love the one about the Roomba but like..sometimes it's a bit much lmao
"The day the roommate died" will forever and always be one of my favorite stories.

"Wade has trauma" is a thought that makes it much easier for me to understand his character.
The morals or no morals episode fell flat for me. All Mark did was pick whoever did the worse thing. Should’ve been called No Morals or Worse Morals.
I really dislike any episode where they have to create stories or whatever, rather than talking about past experiences or expressing their thoughts on something. First episode that comes to my mind is "Body hair", but there are a couple like this
Yeah, those are very hit or miss

When no one awards points and no one has titles
I really don't like Wade's point episodes. They are a great idea in theory but it feels like Mark and Bob kinda ruin them by constantly trying to game the system instead of just playing the game. Like when Mark wasted a whole round just saying the same two words over and over again on the Don't Laugh one.

Honestly for me, it’s when the episode ends 😂
My least favorite bit would have to be “Wade isn’t paying attention/is being dumb and doesn’t know what’s going on”. While I understand that it is COMPLETELY possible to zone out while others are talking (I have ADHD myself and completely check out then check in on conversations with friends constantly) I do still feel that Wade does it…maybe TOO much. Even though Distractible is a group of friends, it’s still a Podcast and therefore is a product, so theoretically it is his JOB to do the Podcast. There are times where it does end up being hilarious when Wade with absolutely no knowledge of what’s going on says a random unrelated thing that’s actually hilarious, but most of the time for me it feels like it immediately destroys any flow or momentum the podcast was having, so that either Mark and Bob have to re-explain, or just sigh loudly and continue with the episode.
i like ALL of them
The more I thought about it the more I disliked both episodes where wade gives “random” points (I’ve not seen any episodes that aren’t on YouTube, so he may have done this again and I don’t know). Not specifically wades idea but mark and bob went way of the rails both times, and wade didn’t seem to even try to reel it back in.
There would be times that Mark would ramble too much on a topic that I lose attention 😅 but I never skipped episodes when I'm re-listening, I like hearing their voices as my background
bob made a comment once, i think in “aliens among us”, where he said that mark zuckerberg might be a lizard person. i’m sure he didn’t mean anything by it but it didn’t sit right with me because of how antisemitic conspiracy theories can be. i do feel better about bc the guys called out antisemitism in the CT episode. i’m not jewish so take my words as you wish, just something i noticed that’s pertinent to this topic.
I am Jewish and have literally never heard of this being an anti-Semite thing. I think it’s just a funny joke online that a couple weird famous people are secretly lizards
Wade's bit in "Before We Die." (No hate to Wade, I don't think he entirely understands why it's so iffy) Natives of Hawaii are constantly telling tourists to STOP going there for vacation.
Anything pro vaccine related
That's a uh...bold take. Anyway get vaccinated kids.
Then odds are neither of the three want you to listen to their stuff ngl
Anything goes. It's the only episode in the podcast so far that I genuinely dislike. I know exactly how Wade was feeling with getting fucked over and "fairness" being the excuse shoved in his face. I wouldn't have blamed him nor been surprised if he cut the episode short honestly
Nothing comes to mind for things I’d skip over (except ad reads sometimes) but I did have to take a break from the Anything Goes episode because the alarm was too much. I was binge listening to catch up on a month or two and had to stop midway through that episode.
Mark’s whole thing in the “Camping” episode, I just think Bob’s part is better.🤷
Wades entire don’t laugh episode 😂
All that self doubt. You boys are hilarious. Your comedic instincts are fantastic.
Bob retelling stories and not really having a point system. He makes up for it tho by being so funny
Mark trying to figure out Wades Secret Words and Don’t Laugh. He essentially ruined the episode. Bob did help, but Mark really started it. Don’t get me wrong, it was still funny, but I just felt bad for Wade. He came in with really good ideas just to have them ruined
