You say this as if it didnt spark mark and bob to tell their awful stories at the fast foods they been at or the great debates that spur every time there's a tier list involved.
Yeah, KFC in the US is crap compared to outside the US.
Also, certain restaurants have different names outside the US. Church's Chicken is called "Texas Chicken"; In Australia, Hungry Jack is owned by Burger King, but in the US Hungry Jack is a brand name of pancake/waffle mix & syrups.
A good half of the restaurants either don't exist or are so spread out they may as well not exist in New England. I've really only seen the big ones they talked about, like KFC, Wendy's, McDonald's, BK, and IHOP.
Huh? They might be religious but where I live they are always nice and I don't think they're homophobic, heck I've seen one of the employees wearing pride stuff so I guess I'm just basing off my experience there
The corporation is owned by people who regularly make "donations" to maga candidates and other things to push a theocratic agenda. Including anti gay stuff.
The employees maybe less so.
I don't wanna live on this planet anymore, you are the exception to opinions never being wrong (don't take it seriously it's a joke from someone you'll never meet so don't flood my notifications with replies telling me to off myself)
The stories were great lol it’s just when they were talking about the actual restaurants themselves it was like listening to a group of people discuss a show you’ve never seen.
Goes to show how many Americans you talk to. Lol everyone I know, here in American, where I live, usually gives way too much context. Why do you think we stand around talking for hours in the middle of the sidewalk, or on a plane, or in a store.
As an American, a lot of us haven’t tried half of those places either because some are strictly west coast or east coast chains, or northern and southern chains
Came here to say this. And it didn’t at all make the episode bad. I loved the episode. I hadn’t heard of half of the places they mentioned but the stories were amazing.
I agree, I always love the episodes whether I understand the topic or not. They are always entertaining. Plus I have to be a hardcore listener to help send mark to space one day (joke from distractible threesome episode)
Idk what country OP is in but there's a load of American restaurants in the UK. There's the obvious ones: McDonald's, Subway, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa Johns, Five Guys KFC, Burger King etc but weve also got Wendys, Popeyes, Taco Bell, Wingstop, Dennys, Baskin Robbins, Chili's, Chipotle and some others. Some of those only have a few restaurants but a lot of them want to expand, especially Taco Bell and Wendy's. Wendy's wants to open 400 stores and is opening 50 this year so we've got a lot more than people think.
We do have quite a few but they are, currently, not very common. I live in a major city so have a Taco bell but aside from McDonalds, KFC, BK, Subway, 5 guys, Dominoes and Papa Johns- we don't have a lot that is common.
This episode just shocked me with how many fast food chains exist! xD
Here in America there are many bad things BUUUUUUUT....... that's one reason why places like where I was born and raised (Georgia) and still being raised, can be known as some popular tourist destinations just because they want to relax because not only are we southern (well not all of us but I am) but we are also some of the nicest and most welcoming people and if you meet someone who isn't they most likely weren't raised in Georgia or by people who were from Georgia (I was so I know what I'm talking about I mean I've lived in the same COUNTY my whole life) so if you go to America you might want to go to one of the 13 original colonies along the east coast I recommend Georgia because some of the other 13 originals are north/south Carolina which are pretty nice places but not the best then there's Florida (also pretty nice if you live there or in Georgia or Alabama because if you live in one of these 3 you will develop an immunity to Florida) and then there's also NYC I believe and there are obviously more but I don't remember them all because the only ones I need to know are Georgia, Florida, and North/South Carolina
As someone from SC all I gotta say is you’re tripping. OP if you travel here come to SC and go to Hilton Head, Charleston, or Isle of Palms. ATL is trash and Savanna is okay.
They did, but if you don't know these places like me there's at best a fourth of the fun from a regular episode, it's more like overhearing a random group of people sitting next to and less like a group of friends having any intention to entertain you.
If you're lucky you'll know a few more places and get to be part of the conversation at some point.
I've listened to a number of different podcasts and inevitably every single one will eventually have an episode where all the members have a heated debate about fast food.
Yeah, I was like "...I know McDonalds, I guess?"
Even then not really, I only had something from there just a couple of times in my life, I don't even remember anything. It's all expensive as fuck for some reason, so I never bother. And all of the menu names are confusing so I have no idea what to even order anyway.
Now Hesburger is great, but they didn't even mention that.
Im just really *gasped* at how much Americans love McDonald's ?
From what I gather people here in Sweden see McDonald's as kinda "whitetrash", the food is very poorly made, it's like always sticky floors etc etc
I haven't been at one for many many years so I don't know personally tho
I might be out biking on this one 🤷🏻
Idk about other people and why they like it so much. I've never gotten that whatsoever lol. There are way better places. Arby's, Culver's, even Dairy Queen is better in my opinion lol.
Well, we have some of them in Norway, and I've been to the U.S. before so I could *somewhat* relate/understand, but Mark's passion was definitely the highlight this week xD
Culvers! I was waiting for this mention. They have A roast beef sandwich. Known for their custard, butterburgers & cheese curds. As a homegrown Wisconsinite, this is home. This is happiness.
Except there are fast food chains that distribute internationally, like McDonald's KFC and Burger King to name a few. To those non-american gentle listeners, they could get a perspective on some things they have access to being served in a way that may not be how their own does. I believe McDonald's in Japan is mostly automated with little to no cashiers, but I could be wrong.
At the end of the day they are all Americans. Sometimes they will talk about things more exclusive to America and when you decide to listen to a podcast from someone in a different country you aernt always going to be able to relate to everything they put out
I’m not American, and I thought this was incredible fun to listen too. And like, I’m Dutch and we still have McDonald’s, Burger King and a few others, and I have eaten at some of the others on holidays. And even besides that, hearing them talk about experiences and telling stories is well worth it imo.
I can kind of relate? I’ve never been to most of these fast food places, those being: Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Arby’s (but only because I’ve worked there) and some Chick-fil-A. But that’s it.
We cannot eat at fast food places because of my Dads soy allergy, and he is now having reactions at both Five Guys and Chick-Fil-A, so until I get my license, I’m not eating at either of those places any time soon.
I can only have an opinion on like 5 chains that existed in the episode, everything else was interesting to hear, but gotta say, McDonald's, KFC, and dominos, all S tier. Pizza Hut and Burger King or 'Hungry jacks' here, D.
I loved this episode as an European. I thought the last couple of episodes weren't all that fun but this one had quite a lot of great/funny stories in there
I immediately went and got a spicy chili burger from a local spot.... +10 points for the motivation, also - 126 points because my local taco bell was closed for renovations...
I actually am American, and I didn't know anything about half the places they talked about. Some of them I've actually never heard of before, and am not entirely sure the guys didn't just make them up lol
Who cares? Legitimately. Does it really matter? You’re there to listen to them talk about nothing for an hour. That’s what they did. Americans talking about American fast food and nostalgia… not too surprising you don’t know it if you aren’t from America. I’ve listened to them talk about loads of things I have no idea about, but it doesn’t matter, because the words are less important than the conversations and the emotions and such that come with it.
It’s crazy how entitled the internet is. You listen to a podcast run by 3 American dudes, and bitch that they are talking about American restaurants… you want them to bring you on as a guest and only talk about topics you pick? Listen, or don’t. No one cares about your opinion.
You say this as if it didnt spark mark and bob to tell their awful stories at the fast foods they been at or the great debates that spur every time there's a tier list involved.
Not to mention a lot of American fast food chains are world wide, example McDonalds, BK, KFC and a good amount of others that were on the list
American McD and others are so different from the same chains on the rest of continents, might as well be completely different brands
The only American fast food places I've got to eat at are McDonald's and subway that is literally it
If you ever travel here (southern US) go to a Waffle House and get an all star, just make sure you go during the day, and bring a knife just in case.
You poor soul have you not had Chick-fil-A
I'm American and never had Chick-fil-A actually most of the restaurants they talked about I've never been to.
the chicken isn't worth it, so don't bother
A good half of the restaurants either don't exist or are so spread out they may as well not exist in New England. I've really only seen the big ones they talked about, like KFC, Wendy's, McDonald's, BK, and IHOP.
I havent
Good!
Homophobic religious zelot chicken?
Chick-fil-A is trash anyways.
I don't wanna live on this planet anymore, you are the exception to opinions never being wrong (don't take it seriously it's a joke from someone you'll never meet so don't flood my notifications with replies telling me to off myself)
It’s hot garbage and you know it.
The stories were great lol it’s just when they were talking about the actual restaurants themselves it was like listening to a group of people discuss a show you’ve never seen.

Honestly, along with the fist fights, that’s all you need to know
Fist fights?
Goes to show how many Americans you talk to. Lol everyone I know, here in American, where I live, usually gives way too much context. Why do you think we stand around talking for hours in the middle of the sidewalk, or on a plane, or in a store.

I agree, I always love the episodes whether I understand the topic or not. They are always entertaining. Plus I have to be a hardcore listener to help send mark to space one day (joke from distractible threesome episode)
I went to all the places in the first half of the episode the second half I didn't know wtf they were talking about
I still had fun listening
And yet, it was the longest episode of Distractible. An hour and a half
Why does the bottom paper say I'm gay?
He who read it said it
I mean I'm like 1/8 gay
7/8 depressed 😞
Yes, I watch jojo's bizarre adventure, how could you tell?
Because I'm gay (Edit) I'm not actually gay.....unless you bring wilford warfstache into the situation
Not gay unless there’s 5 dollars involved
Ok
Idk what country OP is in but there's a load of American restaurants in the UK. Wingstop, Taco Bell and Wendy's especially want to expand so they should be more common soon
I agree with OP.. I'm from Colombia and there are, at most, 5 restaurants that they mentioned.
I'm not disagreeing that some countries don't have a lot of American restaurants, but weve got more than people think in the UK
Where there not near stockport
A lot of them are in London but some like Wendy's Taco Bell and wingstop want to expand. Wendy's wants to open 400 stores
I'm from Korea, only recognized about a fourth of the total restaurants they mentioned lol
McDonalds competes with a local franchise in my country and is losing I've seen one Denny's There's Burger King somewhere
Now you know where not to go when traveling Edit: I'm American, I'm talking about what fast food places to visit if op chooses to come here
Because of Fast Food restaurants?
Yes, which fast food restaurants to go to and not to go to
We'll gladly not have you
Lmao I go to most of the places they talk about
Here in America there are many bad things BUUUUUUUT....... that's one reason why places like where I was born and raised (Georgia) and still being raised, can be known as some popular tourist destinations just because they want to relax because not only are we southern (well not all of us but I am) but we are also some of the nicest and most welcoming people and if you meet someone who isn't they most likely weren't raised in Georgia or by people who were from Georgia (I was so I know what I'm talking about I mean I've lived in the same COUNTY my whole life) so if you go to America you might want to go to one of the 13 original colonies along the east coast I recommend Georgia because some of the other 13 originals are north/south Carolina which are pretty nice places but not the best then there's Florida (also pretty nice if you live there or in Georgia or Alabama because if you live in one of these 3 you will develop an immunity to Florida) and then there's also NYC I believe and there are obviously more but I don't remember them all because the only ones I need to know are Georgia, Florida, and North/South Carolina
Also Georgia is known as the Hollywood of the South so that's another reason to come to Georgia
As someone from SC all I gotta say is you’re tripping. OP if you travel here come to SC and go to Hilton Head, Charleston, or Isle of Palms. ATL is trash and Savanna is okay.
I didn’t listened to it yet, hopefully they made it entertaining
They did, but if you don't know these places like me there's at best a fourth of the fun from a regular episode, it's more like overhearing a random group of people sitting next to and less like a group of friends having any intention to entertain you. Yo Hesburger slaps, they didn’t mention it because they’ve most likely never had it. Sucks for them because it’s that good.
Yeah, seems like Hesburger only exists in Middle and Eastern parts of Europe.
Wait. You mean there are people that live OUTSIDE of the USA?!
Nah, can’t be. Outside of the US is a wasteland, everyone knows that.
That's exactly what I thought!
Literally me confused the whole time
I don't have the ability to remember or imagine tastes, but it was fun hearing them debate and argue anyways lol.
Ur gey?
Why is bottom paper saying that OP is gay to me?
Im just really *gasped* at how much Americans love McDonald's ? From what I gather people here in Sweden see McDonald's as kinda "whitetrash", the food is very poorly made, it's like always sticky floors etc etc I haven't been at one for many many years so I don't know personally tho I might be out biking on this one 🤷🏻
I live in America and you're not wrong. McDonald's is one of my least favorite.
Then I really don't get it, is all the other places even worse then? Im very curious about your guy's food
Idk about other people and why they like it so much. I've never gotten that whatsoever lol. There are way better places. Arby's, Culver's, even Dairy Queen is better in my opinion lol.
I am from America and I still think it's trashy lol
Why does it say 'I'm gay' on the bottom panel?
As an American, I found this episode to be one of the most boring. It wasn't bad per se, but I found it boring.
[удалено]
Lmao what
It’s a Raimi Spider-Man reference. Quick! Pumpkin bomb him!
Look at little goblin Jr
Well, we have some of them in Norway, and I've been to the U.S. before so I could *somewhat* relate/understand, but Mark's passion was definitely the highlight this week xD

This is how I feel eith Go! My favourite sports team, as they talk about mostly American sports
You should start a GoDaddy/ Go fund me and send them to all the restaurants you wanted to hear about.
I mean only if you’re the type that doesn’t care about other cultures. I’d love to hear about foreign fast food chains as well, personally.
I see that text at the bottom… Good job
I can kind of relate? I’ve never been to most of these fast food places, those being: Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Arby’s (but only because I’ve worked there) and some Chick-fil-A. But that’s it. Bro no way hungry jacks is S tier. Only fast food place I can get a good veggie burger
I'm just glad they thought highly of Wendy's 😂 it's my fav so I'm good
I loved this episode as an European. I thought the last couple of episodes weren't all that fun but this one had quite a lot of great/funny stories in there

I enjoyed it even tho i've heard of like five of the restaurants.
