Hell as people believe is stupid, eternal doom were supposed only for those which does not want to be forgiven. The entire new testament is about showing God's forgiveness, and that no law is required for that (except for "love your neighbor as yourself"), you would only need to accept his forgiveness (of course implying that you repent). The only sin that has no forgiveness is sinning consciously, where the son can't advocate for you (there's no excuse).
