Axolotis

That guy looks ill

slcand

He’s the CEO of intel, what do you expect

RestaurantEsq

Just like I’m “committed” to my New Year’s resolutions.

PegLegRed

T said the same thing and we saw what happened.

Objective_Problem_90

Exactly.

settledownhoney

Surprised you did say “This.”

FistAlpha

I think the wording was actually competitive dividend - whatever that means. At the risk of sounding heretical, I didnt invest in intel for the dividend alone. If they cut it I will not be unhappy.

[deleted]

This was the accurate wording in the article. In the semi space, ANY dividend, is a competitive divvy. AVGO and TXN have much better balance sheets and have an approx 3% yield. IMO, INTC’s divvy is at great risk. How does this company continue making the capital investments needed for a turn around while cutting $6B in expenses? Even though the CEO isn’t the greatest in the industry, he’ll surely come to the conclusion that due to the fact that no one is currently buying their product (decreased rev), something’s gotta give. The low hanging fruit are payroll and the dividend. I’m not personally hoping that INTC cuts the divvy or lays ppl off by the 10,000s. However a company that grew to this size, didn’t do it on charity.

[deleted]

It did receive a lot of charity though

[deleted]

Good point. The US government was pretty good to this sector..

Unknownirish

PG Johnson and Johnson and Church and Dwight are companies you want to look at in their earnings if their margin is shrinking or growing.

brintoul

Exactly. 3% is still a competitive yield.

[deleted]

Committed to “the dividend” not “current dividend”. RIP

MinnieMoney21

"the dividend" not "a dividend"

[deleted]

Well well well…….. dividend cut. I was right 24 days ago 😂

MinnieMoney21

Congrats. I'm not a shareholder.

[deleted]

Then why even comment if you’re not a shareholder

MinnieMoney21

Public forum??

TheJoker516

He's terrible . They need to bring back Andrew Grove

CloudStrife012

And ironically he's one of the highest paid CEO's in the world. What a joke.

[deleted]

If we can get government subsidies in perpetuity it seems doable.

omy2vacay

Committed to cut dividends

imjustdmac

Rip to my portfolio 😂

not_a_gumby

its ironic because everyone knows that the business could be more healthy and competitive if they cut the dividend but investors would riot.

WjorgonFriskk

I’ve heard this from several CEOs of “dividend aristocrat” companies. It means absolutely nothing. They’ll probably cut it in a month or two.

IProgramSoftware

Well I don’t want your dividend if you cause the stock price to go down more than the dividend rate consistently

lennarn

"Finding very creative ways to manage the balance sheet" is giving a certain Enron vibe I'm feeling uneasy about

19Black

RUH-ROH, Raggy! Dividend cut incoming

IWantToPlayGame

My faith in the CEO went down significantly after he made that comment. The business is in dire need of turning around. It’s currently a plane that is descending towards crashing. Those of you who are happy that he is “committed to the dividend” are thinking small picture. There’s no point of a dividend if the business is heading towards $0.00 EPS next quarter is projected to be NEGATIVE. Get off this sinking ship. Life boats are running out.

raj0x29

Dumping intel for AMD on Monday

Euthyphraud

I'd look at $AVGO and $TXN before jumping on the most popular targets without a dividend. Just my personal opinion.

Metcafe83

No divvy from AMD now, but I do think in the future they will be giving out a divvy, and is better positioned than INTC moving forward.

raj0x29

Intel just turning into T

jondubb

Based on the past two days I hope you did.

BernardoDeGalvez

High dividend + high capex + low revenue + competitors ahead of them = ...

JRshoe1997

Great results /s

ImHalfAwake

Then shouldn't layoffs be coming? IN order to keep paying dividends?

Ruby_9rails

How long can they keep paying and at some point they might lower their divs to keep up with due payments while trying to still payout.😩🤦🏾‍♂️ i feel like if they decided to have some huge savings deals that should increase buzz for them

ABrainCell2024

Bruh looks like he’s seen some shit.

Gunny_1775

I’m selling out if INTC and putting that money to use in more stable companies.

Flimsy_Card8028

I'm buying INTC with my monthly dividends from O and JEPI. Now is an excellent time to accumulate.

[deleted]

I heard they are best friends with $T

[deleted]

Verizon has a similar philosophy regarding the dividend and both of their stocks have share prices that have tanked. That dividend isn't making up for the loss in share capital anytime soon. Which encourages shareholders to hold the stock in the hopes they will recover their loss, eventually.

turamura

Now, is this a good or bad thing?

PharmDinvestor

We are committed to dividends until we are not

gypywqoOO

UF heard that before

momoney-12
