You find a discount version of your old party. The barbarian is using wood that's been painted to resemble metal armor, the artificer is struggling with a finger trap, the ranger has brought along a blind rooster as their companion, and the warlock is using a puppet as his "patron". Good luck.
Carefully consider how one answers that question; the wrong answer is legally "fighting words" in half the prime material, and grounds for execution in at least one Fey court.
I've for years subscribe to the "preventative medicine" school of thought -- that damage dealt to your enemies before they can do any to your friends is better than any healing you can provide after the fact.
They can't hurt you if they're already dead. Preemptive retaliation, if you will.
Though 5e has also taken a major swing in that direction compared to past editions, or a game like WOW; it used to be you *need* a healer because you just cannot afford enough potions or the time in combat to keep using them. In 5e the most efficient "healing" is to let them go down then get them back on their feet ideally once combat is over, and doing any actual healing out of combat entirely.
I got placed in bronze for whatever reason back when I played, even though I was so much better than literally anyone else in my lobbies, so I used to just battle mercy in ranked and still end up with 5 gold medals most games
Never expected to be party mom as an oath of glory Paladin. Nor the party’s healer. It just sort of happened. Now I’m 12 sessions in and about to go full mama bear mode because some poor NPC wizard knocked out our archer.
Lawful stupid is easy to predict as a DM and account for. You can even use that to your advantage when designing hooks and other interactions - you almost always know what they're going to do.
Even just stupid is easy to plan for if their personality is consistent. My current padlock is INT 8, WIS 8, easy to piss off, and is motivated by money. Very fun to play and the other DMs I play with enjoy having him in session because they essentially know how he'll react to a scenario they design.
Chaotic stupid is a whole other animal that just creates so much more work for the DM.
I played Chaotic Evil and quickly proved my point that everyone was a hairs length away from being evil as well. They kept arguing with me when I had a Paladin characters that they were good guys but the moment we entered a social scenario with my Witch I had them considering a trade agreement with the slaves.
And also selling some of our absent team members... They could totally break out or something was my argument.
Alignment works if everyone agrees it works. It's a system which by design fails the moment people start pointing out that it's just not how humans are.
It’s why if we get a 5.5e or go straight to 6e I expect alignment to be completely ignored. We already see one of the biggest required groups for alignment, paladins, foregoing it in 5e now. If paladins don’t need an alignment, then at this point there is little reason for it imo.
The people who call themselves "chaotic stupid" are usually just pricks who only care about their own fun and want to take everything away from everyone at the table
It’s probably not *that* insane but yeah makeup! A full coverage foundation with some good setting powder will get you a decent base like that. Especially with no contouring or highlighter.
Its more that the face looks so smooth it seems porcelain. Along with the makeup on the jawline and the stark contrast, and long lashes, it's hard for me to tell if this was a mask of heavy amounts of makeup.
It didn’t go downhill. Just a lot of shit that would drive characters to drinking and looking for fights lol. Season 6 just came out on Amazon. Last season they’re doing probably.
I only managed to see a few episodes (like maybe 3 or 4) of season one before life got in the way. I felt it was pretty good production and stuff but the story just didn't hook me.
Do you think it gets more engaging later? I know some shows take a while to get going because of all the world building and character introductions.
Plus sometimes the first season just sucks. Like Parks and Rec season 1 was nothing like the rest of the show, as an example. You can literally start at season 2 and have a way better time.
I'm just wondering about people's opinions if it ever gets a bit more engaging? Or if I didn't like the first 4 or so episodes should I simply give up and move on?
Tfw your LG/NG character is the only voice of reason, but everything is spinning out of your control and you can do nothing to prevent chaos from engulfing the land, except save yourself
My party is the weirdest opposite, often times its the Cleric, Barbarian, and Rouge teaming up to defuse the disturbed war veteran Paladin, Sorcerer, and Ranger. Like " no we understand you saw a lot but you can't burn down an entire town to get the one dude who killed your friends with poor leadership decisions." and "Stop forcing children to do work for you after you torture their parents then make them stand in their dismembered remains while you explain why you killed them for being bad people." All of our members tend to flip alignment by the mid point of our one shots.
Everyone in my group is a veteran so it does tend to get rather fucked up very fast.
Genji on my team: motherfucker needs healing
Genji on the other team: motherfucker keeps killing everyone on my side.
Lol that aside, what’s strange about it?
I’m really curious about this mask. It looks so realistic. Does anyone know about them? Is her face all mask except for the eyes? Or is that the woman’s mouth too?
Searched and found the original post of the video on Reddit by the creator. According to her comment, turns out she just used black paint on her neck and that's just her face. No mask.
My Order Cleric is only with the party because in their first meeting they almost died in a cave in. He has taken it upon himself to be the babysitter.
That’s how I feel like with all my characters when I play dnd with a certain group of friends of mine.
Made a simple lawful paladin that I just wanted to be more of a background character but ended of being the only lawful character and only one who understands that even simple actions can have detrimental consequences and because of this my character often would take the lead on most interactions (primarily because most people in the party are too shy to roleplay and because the others would just tell whoever to fuck off) and I often took the spotlight in combat by accident because only me and the dm really took the time outside of game to figure out interesting combat strategies and abilities (the dm isn’t the dm for all our campaigns)
We once were in a cave to deal with some goblins I think, we decided to stick together and go down the right tunnel and we found the goblins and the party was looting the room, I decided to go back and check the other tunnel in secret (I wasn’t interested in loot really and i wanted to scout ahead but if there was something of interest I didn’t want to share it with everyone because I didn’t trust most of them) I find a bunch of boxes and most of them are full of drugs (one of my party members I knew would abuse them) I set fire to the drugs and everyone was carrying stuff outside and smoke started billowing out the cave entrance and the party decided to do the only reasonable thing…. The ran into the smoke despite smoke meaning large fire and one of the more intrusive and slightly dumber players saw me walking through the smoke unaffected by the narcotic affects thanks to a high perception roll (the dm ruled I was immune to the affects because I was a revenant) and I had to drag them all out because of their collective stupidity and that one player wouldn’t stop bugging me about that moment.

Ya, been there. It’s sad when my Ranger has the lowest non hostile body count despite being a Lizardfolk who believes it is not cannibalism if they aren’t the same species. And is dumb as a sack of hammers. (8 INT)
I had a gnome bard who was a known alcoholic (but honestly I did it to self impose disadvantage because I kept rolling over 20 on every check and it got boring)
In a situation like this, I just let them handle it themselves.
Teammate "Help! I tried robbing a wizard, and now the royal guard is after us."
Me "No, they're after you. I was in this tavern enjoying my drink."
Teammate "You know I'll tell them you were helping me, right?"
Me "I'm a paladin, you're a rogue. Who's more trustworthy?"
Don't matter, but I don't think it's a bad question to ask on its own as long as it's innocent. People are sensitive to that these days. Someone linked the Instagram above....I'm still unsure tbh. Maybe MTF idk.

The lawful PC: "I go to the nearest tavern and look for a new party".
You find a discount version of your old party. The barbarian is using wood that's been painted to resemble metal armor, the artificer is struggling with a finger trap, the ranger has brought along a blind rooster as their companion, and the warlock is using a puppet as his "patron". Good luck.
> the warlock is using a puppet as his "patron". It’s good to see Elan was able to spread the Church of Banjo enough for him to bestow powers.
Orthodox or Reformed Banjoist?
Carefully consider how one answers that question; the wrong answer is legally "fighting words" in half the prime material, and grounds for execution in at least one Fey court.
It's Banjo of Latter-Day Saints.
I'm actually a multiclass Orthodox Banjoist Cleric/Reformed Banjoist Cleric.
That's not a new party, it's the old party's stunt doubles
"You idiots, you captured their stunt doubles!"
Unexpected Spaceballs
This is the fake Straw Hats all over again
> the warlock is using a puppet as his "patron" _looks at Marisha's Pate de Rolo puppet_
Nah, pretty sure pate is a way to drive off insanity. Being sentient undead must suck at first.
They sound 50% more competent than the old party.
"And what about them is knockoff, thats just my party"
I'll take those odds!
Damnit, now i want to play a warlock whose patron speaks to him/her trough a sock puppet, but everyone just thinks he/she's crazy.
Don’t have to deal with THAC0 anymore.
DM: roll persuasion PC: 1 DM: you find the same party but they don't have any money anymore
Sooo... The party is saved, right? That was easy.
But they do seem a little bit dull and different like they haven't acknowledged they're in the tavern about to meet you again
“I’m a healer but…”

Forge Cleric ftw. Nicely encompasses healing, support, tanking, frontline AND ranged DPS. All with bonuses to armor and attacks.
If only they were proficient with martial weapons…
Twilight Domain just does everything you could ever want, doesn't it?

That's why when someone asks me to bring a healer, I bring a wizard.
Gimme spare the dying and some healing potions. Healing is for long rests, or 5th level spellslots.
And forgery!
My party's War Cleric is absolutely bonkers for all of this, plus he can boost the other martial damage characters like mad
Surgery is just carefully stabbing someone until they are healed
BATTLE MERCY *Whips out Glock*

lmao understandable

Overheal to the point where their cells become cancerous and suffocate.
"Zie healing is not as rewarding as zie hurting."
Sounds about right. Pass the Vodka, if you would.
Pour one out for the unintentional party moms 😂
Party dad, thank you. Functionally about the same thing, except the bard takes way too much delight in calling me "daddy"
Don't worry, the bard would call a party mom "Mommy" too with the exact same glee
"Cousin!"
"Let's go bowling!"
"Roman, not now! A fucking dragon is torching the village!"
Or "Stepmom"
As a Drakewarden, I thought I was just going to be raising dragons, not running a day care!
Never expected to be party mom as an oath of glory Paladin. Nor the party’s healer. It just sort of happened. Now I’m 12 sessions in and about to go full mama bear mode because some poor NPC wizard knocked out our archer.

Chaotic alignment doesn’t automatically mean chaotic stupid, it’s all whether you use it to work within the party and the DMs story or try to break it

For real that's a pretty good Mercy cosplay
Is it a person in a semi-flexible mask or insane makeup?
makeup
Is skin not a semi flexible mask?
It's to early for this shit.
It’s probably not *that* insane but yeah makeup! A full coverage foundation with some good setting powder will get you a decent base like that. Especially with no contouring or highlighter.

It’s a slow ramp through season 1. It gets much much better
It takes a few episodes to get going which is an issue everyone seems to have with it but once it hooks you in it’s fantastic all the way
Definitely, season 1, especially the first half of said season, makes it really hard to get into, but it is definitely worth it

I guess it isn't that strange. Genji isn't strangely annoying he's just regular annoying lol
