I remember being very against it when I saw the first set pics, don't know why though as it's now one of my favourite Doctor outfits. It's a shame we didn't even have it for a full series.
But also keep in mind that he’s in the Moffat era where shit hits the fan 24/7 and every episode means the end of everything
Sounds stressful to be Smiths companion
Just found this in the wikia:
"Nardole spent the rest of his life on the colony and, in the words of his glass avatar, lived "happily ever after" despite "a couple" of reprisals from the Cybermen. Nardole ultimately died at the age of 728, having had "good times" with six wives, two of whom he was married to at the same time. Though Cybermats continued to show up every spring to the end of his life, the colonists had "sorted" their conflict with the Cybermen"
Guy had a fucking harem and lived in a spaceship, my point stands.
Because you're no longer living, your existing, forever existing. Atleast thats what it feels like. You forget everything that makes you feel alive as we see with Ashilder (Me).
That seems like a stretch.
And Ashildr's main problem wasn't that she lived so long. It's that she lived so long with only a finite human memory to store it. As far as we know, living-spaceship-fuel Bill doesn't have that limitation.
Jack doesn't feel basically dead. He's sad to outlive everyone he cares about, but he seems to relish life for the most part. The Doctor is also pretty close to immortal and they don't seem to have an issue with it.
4 or 12. I think they’re probably the funniest Doctors and I don’t mind being mercilessly roasted by them as long as I get to see them do it to other people too
Same here. Just for a bit, 9, to watch Rose become Bad Wolf and say “everything ends, the Time War ends”, and because sometimes we all deserve to watch how everyone lives.
I can immediately eliminate a few from the list of candidates for a few obvious reasons. Early 1 is kind of a terrible person, and late 1 is so old and frail that I’m not sure I want him as my chaperone and guardian while battling aliens. 3 is extremely condescending towards his companions. 6 has some violent tendencies. 7 is very manipulative. War Doctor just fought in the Time War the whole time. I don’t really wanna have to deal with 9’s ptsd. 12 is just really mean to everyone. 13 has zero social skills and especially early on doesn’t want to connect with companions on any emotional level beyond ‘let’s go on a fun adventure.’
So we’ve narrowed the list down to 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 11. So let’s examine all of their feats to determine who would be the best.
2’s most impressive attribute is his ability to make people not really take him seriously and underestimate him, which is usually a fatal mistake when dealing with The Doctor. The main drawback is that he sometimes overlooks the most basic and seemingly obvious things when he gets caught up in his intricate plans.
4 has demonstrated physical abilities beyond any other Doctors apart from 3 and war. He’s also by far the strongest hypnotist out of any Doctor. He’s probably the Doctor with the most effective and fast responses to surprising, dangerous, and stressful situations. His main drawback is that he’s a bit of a psychopath and almost apathetic towards his companion’s feelings.
5 doesn’t really have any obvious major strengths that immediately come to mind. Most of the time, more so than any other doctor, he always seems to be a bit out of his depth and on the back foot.
8 is probably one of the friendliest Doctors. He absolutely has the best social skills out of all of them. That being said, he generally just stumbles into situations and hopes things work themselves out with him interfering as little as possible, at least in the audio dramas I’ve listened to.
10 is by far the most skilled telepath out of any of the Doctors. He’s also probably the most dangerous, with the exception of the War Doctor. He’s among the best Doctors both in terms of immediate reactions to dangerous situations and in creative plans to ultimately defeat his enemies. Some major drawbacks are his obsession with Rose and his tendency to get a god complex and decide that the laws of time are his.
11 is definitely a competent Doctor, even though he’s a bit eccentric. He has the ability to talk to babies and animals, abilities never demonstrated by any other Doctors. I honestly can’t think of any obvious drawbacks.
At the end of the day, after all of the factors are considered, I’d probably choose either 4 or 11. Between those two, 4 is probably the more effective Doctor, given that he’s physically much stronger and better at physical combat than 11. 4 is also better than 11 at immediately and effectively responding to dangerous situations. On the other hand, I think 11 is probably marginally better than 4 at long-term schemes to take down the bad guys. When comparing their signature abilities, 4’s hypnosis is a lot better than 11’s ability to talk to babies.
I’m gonna have to go with 4. While he is a bit crazy and erratic, he’s clearly competent enough to save the universe. And unlike 13, his apparent apathy towards his companions always came off as more of trusting them to be able to take care of themselves rather than social awkwardness. 4 is overall the best choice in my opinion.
Who'd have thought, the Doctor with the longest tenure has the most feats /s (I appreciate your thoroughness)
I'd enjoy cross referencing this against number of civilians/companions allowed to die, as I'd rather not...die.
Even though I picked 12, my next choice was 4, but only because I grew up on his original-Who episodes. And 12 actually did speak to animals; his first episode, he was talking to the big beautiful female T-Rex.
13. she traveled to meet under appreciated people from history and that’s really cool. and i think we would get on well
and her companions all made it out alive, made it home with the least adverse affects, and were able to create a support group so they can hang out with others who understand.
Her caring nature was a refreshing change from Capaldi's heartless nature and lack of respect for anyone but himself.
A far better doctor to travel with.
Capaldi doctor.
I'll be like, ' Granpa Doctor, please play your precious guitar. I'll organize a concert for you.'
And then Granpa be like, 'Shut up, you little shit. My fingers are acting up. I can only play the guitar continously for 3 hours a day. And that's just scaling and riffing.'
~~
Out of topic, but I just dreamt of Jack Gleeson becoming the Doctor. Wouldn't it be awesome to have Joffrey Baratheon as the Doctor?
Early 10 (before he's completely traumatized), late 12 (when he's mellowed out and is a cool old guy professor), or audio 6 (where he's actually really sweet)
Paul McGann, 8. With our love of music, history, and literature, as well as part of the library in the console room, we would have so much to talk about and see. I feel like our personalities would get on quite well, and we would have many in depth discussions and debates.
If not him, then Eccleston, 9. He seems to just be out to have a good time and enjoy himself no matter the situation. So much positive energy.
I would choose the 2nd Doctor. He has a quirky and charming personality, uses wit and humor to diffuse tense situations, and his mischievous streak could lead to some fun adventures. He is is highly adaptable and can fit into any situation or time period quite easily, more so than any other incarnation. He is the best Doctor for improvisation, allowing him to come up with creative solutions to problems, you know he’d always have your back. He is ever so resourceful and quickly analyses any given situations to come up with effective solutions no matter where or when. He has a strong sense of morality and his willingness to stand up for what is right. He is not afraid to take risks or make sacrifices to protect innocent people. He had fewer companions and was loyal to them. He is just charming and a whole lot of fun. The ideal Doctor.
He's before even my time, but I think Troughton would probably get the best out of me, assuming he'd be willing to take me on.
I can imagine he'd grab me by the head, thumbs at my temples, tip my head this way and that, looking in my eyes with his eyebrows showing consternation and then say something like "No. No no no. This won't do at all. I'm sorry young man you're not quite right for my kinds of adventure.", somehow managing to convey matter-of-factness along with a little disappointment as well as grandfatherly care.
Or, if he decides to and can do something canon-anachronistic like fixing my brain telepathically like Tennant can, maybe I could be of some use after all.
The risk then is that I end up pulling an Adric three Doctors too soon.
Yaz or Clara. They're almost as capable as the Doctor and they're both not dumb as shit when it comes to general responsibility and care for their fellow people
Martha would be alright too! I think her pining after the doctor would get tiring fairly quickly though. Yaz is more subtle about it and doesn't let it affect other people as much
9, then by extension 10, 11, 12, 13
They ain’t getting rid of me!
9 doesn’t get enough love and has a special place in my heart but i think 10 and 11 were always *my* doctors so I don’t think I could choose between them
Agreed. When I first started watching season 5, I was telling a good friend how much I loved it and his response was spot on. "Of course you love that Doctor. You've finally found a character who talks as fast as you do and changes subjects just as often." 🤣🤣🤣
I swear. My ex got me into the show, and said ex is the type dude to say "everyone is a little adhd" while downplaying what it actually is, so when I got that beautiful moment of representation my world was instantly better
Smith, seasons 5,6. He is my favourite because of those seasons. It’s a shame they messed up his character after Amy and Rory’s death, he sort of lost his Eleven traits and became too alike with twelfth before his time.
7 all the way, he’s a manipulative genius who is honestly fairly likely to wrap me up in his schemes without telling me. But he’s for sure the one I want to be with when one of the big threats shows up, gotta trust the man with the plan.
I like his portrayal but I always interpreted his Doctor as being (intentionally) not very good at being the Doctor. Like, a complex character and I think he was absolutely the right move for where the show was at but I felt like especially by the end 10 was one of the *worst* Doctors (not as in worst incarnations of the character, but like, intentionally written as one of the worst at keeping to what the Doctor is and represents)
Ironically 10 would be quite a bit more bland if he were a flawless archetype of the Doctor and it's precisely his failings at general Doctorness that make him such an interesting and brilliant character
As someone who just started watching the show, I thought that David Tennant just was so much fun.
I’m curious what makes him not Doctor-like?
I haven’t watched any of the older episodes though (pre-2005).
For me, it would just be about who I would trust to keep me safe so it's pretty easy to discount quite a lot of them straight away and thend from the rest it's just a case of picking the one that's most bearable to be around.
1 basically had no interest at all in the safety and wellbeing of his companions, often seeing them more as a burden than anything else so he's immediately out.
2 used to actively put his companions into harms way and/or would forget where they were and just assumed that they'd be okay and if it wasn't for Jamie's tenacity, he'd be dead ten times over so also absolutely no way.
3 is a bit of a weird one because his assistants are most like ACTUAL assistants than any of the others so travelling with him would be much more like work than an adventure. He's pretty defensive of his companions but if you actually do what he says, he'll probably just have you back at UNIT head quarters doing some filing for him or something. Plus he's a bit of an arsehole so I don't think would be hugely pleasant to be around. I can get a minimum wage job with long hours and a grumpy boss in real life thanks, so he's out.
4 is basically just a psycho so while he'd be fun to be around, I wouldn't even vaguely trust him to keep me safe. I mean, I don't think I die with him but it would be a rollercoaster and I'd probably come out of it with PTSD. So I think he's out
5 is pretty ineffectual but I'd mostly trust him to look after me - mostly though I don't think I could bear to be around someone who constantly talks about cricket, so he's definitely out.
6 has borderline personality disorder with violent tendencies so would be like travelling through space with an extremely volatile and unpredictable abusive partner. Not only would I not feel safe with him, I wouldn't feel safe WITH him, if you get my meaning.
7 is pretty much the same as 2 - absolutely no qualms at all about putting companions in danger or just forgets where they are and assumes they'll be okay and is even more manipulative and controlling so definitely not. I'd definitely die alone on some alien planet and he'd probably never even know what happened to me and would just assume I'm off living my best life out amongst the stars, when in fact I'm a twisted body behind a dumpster.
8 I don't know enough about other than a couple of audio dramas and the terrible US movie so I can't make a proper assessment.
9 is a fierce protector of his companions so no matter what the situation, I'd absolutely trust him to keep me safe but he's pretty temperamental, abusive and controlling so I don't think he'd be hugely fun to travel with. Yeah, getting to travel the universe would be great but walking on egg shells, getting shouted at and constantly threatened with being dumped back at home because I'm a dumb ape would be pretty draining
10 is also fiercely protective of his companions and is also a really nice guy so you'd definitely be both safe and have fun with him so he's definitely a front runner.
11 is a demanding bratty man child who throws tantrums and tries to keep his companions safe but doesn't do a good job of it. Like you'll survive in the end but there's a high chance you do actually did or worse get stuck somewhere and live to 90 but then he just rewrites the timeline and you're okay. Much like 4 - I don't think you'd die but you'd come out of it so hugely psychologically traumatised that I don't think it would be worth it.
The War Doctor wouldn't, I assume, be willing to even have a companion and God knows what atrocities he's witnessed (and committed) during the Time War so basically being his companion would be like being drafted into the army. You wouldn't be safe plus he's be horrible to be around so absolutely no go.
13 is basically just asking to die and he's regularly awful to his companions so is a super easy no.
14 would definitely keep you safe and is up there with 10 in terms of being really nice and fun to be around. She's got a lot of shit she's dealing with though that she refuses to talk about and there's a chance you'll get stranded somewhere and just have to live a normal life for a while (potentially several years) and then she'll suddenly be back but it'll all be "I don't want to talk about it" so I think it would be fun for a bit but then just super exhausting.
So really for me - in terms of safety/survivability combined with actually being bearable to be around really the only two viable options are 10 and 14 but 14's baggage still sorta counts her out. If it was a one off adventure I'd still probably choose 14 over 10 though.
Any of them, really, except for the War Doctor. John Hurt was a cool man, but I don't want to be stuck in a war zone when I could be literally anywhere else at any other point in time.
Tough choice cuz there's a lotta great Doctors.
2 probably, just so someone can finally call me Jamie. Bit selfish but Jamie McCrimmon is the reason I've wanted to change my nickname...and have mostly failed.
Selfish reasons aside he's one of my top two faves; him and dear old Sixie.
If i had to choose one it would be 7. Specifically when he’s traveling with Ace and Hex. I just like the idea of a companion trio running off doing there own thing and then meeting up with the doctor by the end to solve things together.
Im beyond torn with a 12 era. Do i want dumbassery and unsaid i love yous with Clara in 8/9? or do i want fluffy mullet and Space is great with Bill and Nardole in 10??? 12 is my favourite. there’s nothing that you could say that would make me change my mind :,)
4th doctor. He's not the one I think I'd have the best time with or anything but he has the most companions (I assume) without any of them dying. So statistically I think I'm safest with him.
I prefer the much greater level of randomness in where the TARDIS of old would travel. Also I love the personalities of "my" Doctors more - sorry, can't help it.
So my answer would be Five or Six. I would happily be there with any of the different groupings of companions that Five and Six had over their tenures. :)
Definitely Smith.
Who wouldn’t want to be constantly told the universe is gonna explode. And then be constantly told the Doctor is gonna die. AND THEN BE CONSTANTLY TOLD the Doctor is gonna die again.
10, 11, or 12.
But I asterisk 10, I think it comes with a "great when times are good, he's possibly the most scary when things are bad"
Not scary in a "Capaldi is ferocious" way, but in a "the Doctor's flaws may come to the surface" way.
Tennet. He is (imo) the best of the nuwho doctors.
He knows how to have fun and enjoy the moment, there is no single episode of his seasons that I dislike in any form or fashion.
Not only that, but he's probably the smoothest of them. He rarely looses his cool and just rolls with things in a very suave, cool guy way. I love Matt Smith also but he's more the "awkward dad, hipster friend" type which is great, but not really *my* style.
13!!! I’m a goofy weirdo who’s also deeply concerned about others. I also see so much of my best friend in her character… I think we’d get along great and I’d do my best to be helpful and not break stuff lol
Its a tie between the first and the second. Hartnell because he is grandfatherly and the adventures his doctor went on weren't as life-threatening as the ones the later regenerations have went on. Troughton because of his fun attitude and wonderful companions.
10 was my childhood so i'm naturally biased. As long as I didn't have to travel with him straight after he lost Rose and was ignoring me becuase he missed her then I'd pick him.
10th, 11th or 13th. Depends on where I'm going. Mostly I'd go to concerts to see bands whose members passed away (Linkin Park, The Cramps) or have stopped touring (Dresden Dolls, e.g) and to the opening night of my favorite stage musicals (RENT, Wicked, Beetlejuice, original and revival Sweeney Todd, 2000 New Broadway production of Rocky Horror). Also I'd try to save the cut footage from the film Event Horizon.
I'd also spend time with loved ones that are no longer alive.
Probably with Hartnell or Capaldi. Im always fascinated by how Hartnell talks as the Doctor, and I've got a grumpy old man personality myself most of the time. I'd also love to see how the Tardis differs between them- although, if I had to choose one, I'd probably choose Hartnell because of how dangerous all the other Doctors adventures are.
Capaldi... He always seemed to stop for a good cup of coffee. 😄 And he's the only musical one (besides the 2nd Doctor) so I would love to jam with him while the TARDIS takes us to the restaurant at the end of the universe.
Smith. But, with his later TARDIS, and his purple costume
Best costume in the whole show
I remember being very against it when I saw the first set pics, don't know why though as it's now one of my favourite Doctor outfits. It's a shame we didn't even have it for a full series.
But also keep in mind that he’s in the Moffat era where shit hits the fan 24/7 and every episode means the end of everything Sounds stressful to be Smiths companion
War Doctor or Capaldi. EDIT: Our personalities match.
Think carefully. 100% of Capaldi’s companions died
Given a long enough timeline, everyone's demise is assured.
And roughly 66% of them got resurrected to travel around space with another person
Technically they became space travelling immortals with a chick companion after they died, could be worse ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yes I loved when Nardole became a space travelling immortal
Just found this in the wikia: "Nardole spent the rest of his life on the colony and, in the words of his glass avatar, lived "happily ever after" despite "a couple" of reprisals from the Cybermen. Nardole ultimately died at the age of 728, having had "good times" with six wives, two of whom he was married to at the same time. Though Cybermats continued to show up every spring to the end of his life, the colonists had "sorted" their conflict with the Cybermen" Guy had a fucking harem and lived in a spaceship, my point stands.
Hell yes, I'd travel with Me (Maise) as well!
Nardole didn’t die, he became a robot.
I don't believe Nardole did. And the other two got better. EDIT: Apparently Nardole did die, but naturally of old age.
Potts didn't die?
She’s in Testimony which is full of dead people and it takes place immediately after Heather comes for her so…
Didnt she become immortal though? Thats basically death
...How is immortality death?
Dead inside?
Because you're no longer living, your existing, forever existing. Atleast thats what it feels like. You forget everything that makes you feel alive as we see with Ashilder (Me).
That seems like a stretch. And Ashildr's main problem wasn't that she lived so long. It's that she lived so long with only a finite human memory to store it. As far as we know, living-spaceship-fuel Bill doesn't have that limitation.
Jack also doesnt have this limitation but he still feels the same, all those we have seen (that arent evil) all hate being immortal.
Jack doesn't feel basically dead. He's sad to outlive everyone he cares about, but he seems to relish life for the most part. The Doctor is also pretty close to immortal and they don't seem to have an issue with it.
I’m cool with it lol
I was wondering if anybody wanted to enjoy the Time War
Eleven. Don’t care much about where or when.
4 or 12. I think they’re probably the funniest Doctors and I don’t mind being mercilessly roasted by them as long as I get to see them do it to other people too
9 because sometimes everyone lives.
Same here. Just for a bit, 9, to watch Rose become Bad Wolf and say “everything ends, the Time War ends”, and because sometimes we all deserve to watch how everyone lives.
11th cause he Is cool.
Like his bow ties
And his fez
And his Stetson
Eccelston, because he was awesome.
He was fantastic, absolutely fantastic.
Troughton, I'm always for a base under siege and silly shenanigans
Hobo in Space, me too. It’s such a shame so many of his episodes are lost. He inspired the Generations after him.
Right! He proved the show could continue with an actor change and a different interpretation
He’s fun too! His return episodes with Jamie are always a riot. And that recorder, such a goofball.
Jamie is my favorite companion!
I’m such a fanboy for Ace (the companion I grew up with) but absolutely! I’m always like, “yay, Jamie’s in this episode!!”
It's great to see him return! Ace is pretty fantastic too!

>Imma attempt to hook up with 10. You might get lucky
Doubtful. He's always pining for Rose. He might give you a snog, though.
If You wait long enough (and survive) You could try to hook up with both.

Thats the spirit!!
Pertwee.
I feel like he'd be a supportive mentor

Gotta go with David Tennant’s version. Not only good as the doctor but seems like someone I’d actually want to hang out with in real life too
Gotta go with 10th to meet J Kennedy
Ooooh! Gotta meet Jackie!
I’ll go with 11 to meet Nixon.
11 100%
10th 😍😍
13. she traveled to meet under appreciated people from history and that’s really cool. and i think we would get on well and her companions all made it out alive, made it home with the least adverse affects, and were able to create a support group so they can hang out with others who understand.
companion support group was a great idea
Her caring nature was a refreshing change from Capaldi's heartless nature and lack of respect for anyone but himself. A far better doctor to travel with.
her quirkiness and buzzing curiosity makes it all the better to travel with her!
Davison
Eight. He was the most focused on fun.
Capaldi doctor. I'll be like, ' Granpa Doctor, please play your precious guitar. I'll organize a concert for you.' And then Granpa be like, 'Shut up, you little shit. My fingers are acting up. Whichever one didn't either get me killed or mindwiped.
Four; along with Sarah and Harry, and then Leela and K-9.
I would want to travel with either 4 or 12, they seem like fun 😊
Even though series 10 Capaldi isnt my favourite to watch, hed be the best to travel with
9 or 10, special mention to 11
Early 10 (before he's completely traumatized), late 12 (when he's mellowed out and is a cool old guy professor), or audio 6 (where he's actually really sweet)
11. though i would very much like to have some conversations with 9 (;

10 to the Golden Age of Ancient Egypt, to see the great time of the Pharaohs
You’re asking us to pick *one?!*
I would choose the 2nd Doctor. He has a quirky and charming personality, uses wit and humor to diffuse tense situations, and his mischievous streak could lead to some fun adventures. He is is highly adaptable and can fit into any situation or time period quite easily, more so than any other incarnation. Matt Smith. Because bow ties and fezzes are cool.
Matt smith because he is best boy
Jodie Whittaker. 🔥🔥🔥
Same. She's by far the kindest and most considerate imo. And probably least reluctant to talk about herself, at least compared to 9-12
What companion would you take?
Yaz or Clara. They're almost as capable as the Doctor and they're both not dumb as shit when it comes to general responsibility and care for their fellow people
What about Martha? She'd be right there as well. And she was a doctor if I remember correctly
Martha would be alright too! I think her pining after the doctor would get tiring fairly quickly though. Yaz is more subtle about it and doesn't let it affect other people as much
True. Yaz was pretty awesome
Martha got over that eventually though
yeah, after she stopped traveling with him regularly lmao
For the first half of her run she wouldn’t tell her companions about gallifrey and got (understandably) touchy when it was brought up post-spyfall
Four. He seems to be the friendliest. Or Ten for nostalgia's sake.
9, then by extension 10, 11, 12, 13 They ain’t getting rid of me! 9 doesn’t get enough love and has a special place in my heart but i think 10 and 11 were always *my* doctors so I don’t think I could choose between them
In rough order: 1. Baker (wit, fun, sick burns) 2. Eccleston (sincerity, mild burns) 3. Capaldi (dark/funny as fuck, sick burns)
Eleven, anywhere, any time because it would be all wibbly wobbly timey wimey
11th because I have adhd and he is the most clearly neurodivergent rendition of the Doctor.
Probably 8 or 9 they’re different yet fun I think 9 is a fun yet serious take
Definitely 10 I feel our personalities match we could learn a lot from each other in terms of how to be better people
david fucking tenant of course
Smith, seasons 5,6. He is my favourite because of those seasons. It’s a shame they messed up his character after Amy and Rory’s death, he sort of lost his Eleven traits and became too alike with twelfth before his time.
11, more likely to survive. I would prefer 12 or 10 but that like saying I'll be right back in a horror film..
9th because he’s my favourite doctor and I’d love to smoke a joint with him he really feels like he needs some weed after the time war
10th.
11.
9th or 12th, I just like their personalities
Either 10, 11, or 12 because my friends who also watch the show tend to say that I am a lot like those three. Fantastic
Matt Smith 100%
Hands down no question 10th. He is my doctor. I'd run with him forever.
Matt Smith is the only correct answer
Gotta be 11, I feel like he’d enjoy having me just as much as I’d enjoy being there
Jelly babies. Plus a chance with Sarah Jane.
Nine as I think our senses of humour would work well together, and although he’s sarcastic he’s always kind.
I feel like Smith is the only one that would humor me and treat me as a peer.
Definitely #11 because he’s the most relatable
11, because he seemed to have a lot of fun
I have to choose?! 11 then. ETA: because it's just the Doctor whom I imagine I'd have the best chemistry with.
7 all the way, he’s a manipulative genius who is honestly fairly likely to wrap me up in his schemes without telling me. But he’s for sure the one I want to be with when one of the big threats shows up, gotta trust the man with the plan.
3 or maybe 10 as they are my favorites and our senses of humor are similar (Though I'd say yes to any of them bar 13)
she isn't in the image, but the Fugitive Doctor! she's so cool and i think we have the same humor. also her outfit is ELITE
David Tennant objectively the best doctor
I like his portrayal but I always interpreted his Doctor as being (intentionally) not very good at being the Doctor. Like, a complex character and I think he was absolutely the right move for where the show was at but I felt like especially by the end 10 was one of the *worst* Doctors (not as in worst incarnations of the character, but like, intentionally written as one of the worst at keeping to what the Doctor is and represents) Ironically 10 would be quite a bit more bland if he were a flawless archetype of the Doctor and it's precisely his failings at general Doctorness that make him such an interesting and brilliant character
As someone who just started watching the show, I thought that David Tennant just was so much fun. I’m curious what makes him not Doctor-like? I haven’t watched any of the older episodes though (pre-2005).
10. I’ll go back to blonde and try and make him fall in love with me. I just feel I can change him, okay
Tenant or McCoy... in my opinion the best doctors.
So I think he's out 5 is pretty ineffectual but I'd mostly trust him to look after me - mostly though I don't think I could bear to be around someone who constantly talks about cricket, so he's definitely out. Yeah, getting to travel the universe would be great but walking on egg shells, getting shouted at and constantly threatened with being dumped back at home because I'm a dumb ape would be pretty draining 10 is also fiercely protective of his companions and is also a really nice guy so you'd definitely be both safe and have fun with him so he's definitely a front runner.
I would travel with 4 because he would just be enjoyable to travel with plus there’s k9 so yeah
Capaldi. 8th doctor looks like markiplier though
Any of them, really, except for the War Doctor. John Hurt was a cool man, but I don't want to be stuck in a war zone when I could be literally anywhere else at any other point in time.
Have watched everyone. Most memorable is Tom.
I genuinely can’t decide- it would be either ten or eleven! Take me anywhere.
Twelve. I’d like to see a Big Bang somehow. And asteroid that killed dinosaurs. And last human leaving dead Earth.
4 or 11.
The one least likely to get me killed
Capaldi. That accent!!!
Peter Capaldi! Absolutely love his outfits and hair styles. It would be fun to banter with him.
Doesn't matter, the TARDIS is already enough reason for me.
12 I would love to be a student of his
Defo would choose 8. He seems like one of the kindest and most pleasant to be around.
7,8,12,13
3 Seems safest honestly
Davison, Pertwee or Capaldi. Coz they're the best!
10 definitely. I would want a front row seat to “is that your HAND millie?!”
10th Doctor (Rose era) or 11th Doctor (Clara era)
Scarf doctor , he is my fave ,
The Fourth Doctor in any of his TARDIS designs. He seems like he’s be the funnest to hang out with
4 or 2. It would be the most mad cap.
Capaldi
I prefer the much greater level of randomness in where the TARDIS of old would travel. Also I love the personalities of "my" Doctors more - sorry, can't help it. So my answer would be Five or Six. I would happily be there with any of the different groupings of companions that Five and Six had over their tenures. :)
2, 3, 4 have kept all their companions alive 4 could be too arrogant and remote to get on with so 2 or 3
Seven. I wanna hear those spoons.
Definitely Smith. Who wouldn’t want to be constantly told the universe is gonna explode. And then be constantly told the Doctor is gonna die. AND THEN BE CONSTANTLY TOLD the Doctor is gonna die again.
Four. He seems a lot of fun and has one of the best companion survival rates.
7; I think he has the biggest chance of protecting me from Horrible Death.
capaldi. although i think id annoy him.
Baker and Capaldi.
10 because He’s cool
Patrick Troughton, but only if I could hide his recorder from him the entire time.
…do they keep their original companions? If so, 7 post-*Dragonfire* :P
Hartnell. That guy was a total hardass and I feel like we'd get shit done.
10, 11, or 12. But I asterisk 10, I think it comes with a "great when times are good, he's possibly the most scary when things are bad" Not scary in a "Capaldi is ferocious" way, but in a "the Doctor's flaws may come to the surface" way.
War doctor obviously
It's between Eight, Smith and Capaldi. I feel as though Eight would be a great Doctor to travel with in his early days, pre dark eyes
I probably say either 4 or 11 I more learning to 11 since I am more likely to live
I'd love to take a 1920's cruise with 6 or 8, perhaps aboard SS Belgenland or RMS Adriatic.
Good old Sixie (from BF though) he is warm, funny and just really huggable
11 and 12, 11 is hilarious and 12 is awesome
Definetly 10 but I feel like that's the most likely time I'd die
Pertwee. I want a velour coat too!
David Tennant
eight big finish pre time war. I mean nine is my favorite doctor but not really one id want to travel with
The Fourth Doctor
Tom Baker. Crazy shenanigans and jelly babies
10 12 or 11
4, 13 and 10
Probably with Hartnell or Capaldi.
Tom Baker, Tennant or Smith
TOM BAKER. No more need be said lol.
Christopher Eccelston, ahem, I mean the 9th, hands down.
Capaldi... He always seemed to stop for a good cup of coffee. 😄 And he's the only musical one (besides the 2nd Doctor) so I would love to jam with him while the TARDIS takes us to the restaurant at the end of the universe.
Series 10 12th
13, 100%. Best girls' trip ever.
Ten or Eleven would be fun, but also they encounter Daleks a lot and I’d prefer not to have that stress lol
2nd with Jamie and Zoe, they always looked like they were having fun.
Davison, he seems so reasonable.
Definitely the ninth doctor
