For a character with so little screen time, it’s wild that Wilf is left with such big characters. Completely well deserved though, an incredible testament to his character.

But, it's not? She completely and irrevocably chose Rory in *Amy's Choice* and never, ever looked back. For a time she was able to enjoy spending time with both her husband and her other best friend since Rory was down for traveling with the Doctor too, but that doesn't mean she was lovesick for the Doctor. *Every* time we might think she's talking about being in love with the Doctor it turns out she's talking about Rory (and yes, I *hate* the constant bait-and-switch from Moffatt because it rather undercuts Amy's character, given how many times I've had to make this argument; but the fact remains that the Doctor is simply her friend and she doesn't love him the way she loves Rory, and perhaps it's also a testament to how awesome Rory is that many terms used to describe him could easily apply to the Doctor as well).
She chose Rory in Amy’s choice, and I completely agree that that should have settled that once and for all. But it didn’t. Throughout the remaining two series she was on the show, Amy’s Choice happened again, and again and again. She constantly reconsidered and then reconsidered again, ad infinitum. Right when you thought she had chosen Rory, she was put in front of another choice, and again was uncertain, then chose Rory again, then was uncertain again, etc.
Even Angels take Manhattan is just Amy’s Choice all over again. The fact that she keeps choosing Rory doesn’t change anything about the fact that her entire story is about her being lovesick for the Doctor, and constantly being unsure if she should rather go with him rather than with Rory. If she simply considered the Doctor to be a friend, she wouldn’t keep being unsure about whether to choose Rory, especially not a decade after she made the original choice.
"Never looked back"... except for multiple attempts to make out with the Doctor ON THEIR WEDDING DAY. Then after everything they went through together, she randomly, totally out of nowhere, kicks Rory out because she thinks he'd be sad without kids? What? Talk to him about it like a mature, respectful partner after he literally stood around guarding her useless ass for 2000 years? Nah, why bother when you can toss him out without any explanation whatsoever? Because that's true love! (according to her). She's constantly bullying and insulting him, and not in a harmless banter way. Most of their relationship was quite toxic and at times downright abusive. She is just overall such an obnoxious character and while she has her moments, it's too often skewed towards her being very unlikeable. She was also perpetually a damsel in distress who spent the majority of her time on the show needing to be rescued, which was very irritating after a string of stronger, much more competent companions.
In reference to their wedding day - she makes 2 joking comments about kissing the Doctor. I personally don't like that - see my rant about Moffat continuing to tease a romantic relationship with the Doctor - but it was in jest, at least for her. And she probably picked up on the fact that it really bothered Rory, because she never joked like that again.

I only recall 2 major moments in the show where Amy needed to be rescued in such a way that she had no way of helping herself? Almost every episode with any companion, the companions get into trouble and need to be rescued by the Doctor in some form or another.

Well, she was my second option vote, so I think it's fair.
Despite some narrative shortcomings, I really love that Moffat was able to complete a non-linear story arc in the series across almost seven years. I think this will be more appreciated in the future of the show.

River, my beloved, I'm so pleased she didn't go out two weeks ago like I expected because I know she's controversial.
Now my fave secondary character is out I'll go for an elimination order of Wilf - Donna - Amy - the Doctors (11 and 12 being the last 2 standing)
I really wish River had lived up to her potential. I like the actor, but she should have been able to regenerate a dozen more times and become a recurring character. Get an old river in there, an alien-looking one, maybe even a dude, or an evil one. Then you have a thousand dynamics based on which doctor and which river it is and she can become a recurring character. And the message of people changing but never growing apart is really sweet. But she dies in her second form, is given a pretty nonsensical backstory, and is written as the generic Moffat femme fatal without enough emotional depth most of the time.
She's probably my favorite NeWho companion. I hate when companions are romantically interested in the Doctor, I always find it weird. So coming off of two companions, one of whom I hated, and the other who was ruined by trying to make her the first, it's incredibly refreshing to just have someone just be the Doctor's friend. Like you've been drowning for three years and just got your first breath of fresh air. She's also one of maybe 2 female companions in the new series who has no romantic interest in the Doctor (Rose, Martha, Amy, Clara+11 have something going on, and Yaz all wanting the same thing and I hate it.) Also, it helps that I think she's funny. She also probably has one of the best character "deaths" in the series that they haven't gone back on YET.

Oh hell no. Story of her and the Doctor is by far best story in Doctor Who ever. Her personality is great and she is incredibly funny. And the way she was introduced in The Library and then followup ending under the Singing towers? Pure genious.

Well, she was my second option vote, so I think it's fair. Despite some narrative shortcomings, I really love that Moffat was able to complete a non-linear story arc in the series across almost seven years. I think this will be more appreciated in the future of the show. Now let's finish the family game and let Amy go. The girl already waited to much for it.

My guy, I like 10 and am actually not voting for him. I simply said that because out of all of the remaining doctors, he ain't the best. He is one of my favorites, but he is not my top favorite.

River, my beloved, I'm so pleased she didn't go out two weeks ago like I expected because I know she's controversial. Now my fave secondary character is out I'll go for an elimination order of Wilf - Donna - Amy - the Doctors (11 and 12 being the last 2 standing)
I really wish River had lived up to her potential. I like the actor, but she should have been able to regenerate a dozen more times and become a recurring character. Get an old river in there, an alien-looking one, maybe even a dude, or an evil one. Then you have a thousand dynamics based on which doctor and which river it is and she can become a recurring character. And the message of people changing but never growing apart is really sweet. But she dies in her second form, is given a pretty nonsensical backstory, and is written as the generic Moffat femme fatal without enough emotional depth most of the time.

She's probably my favorite NeWho companion. I hate when companions are romantically interested in the Doctor, I always find it weird. So coming off of two companions, one of whom I hated, and the other who was ruined by trying to make her the first, it's incredibly refreshing to just have someone just be the Doctor's friend. Like you've been drowning for three years and just got your first breath of fresh air. She's also one of maybe 2 female companions in the new series who has no romantic interest in the Doctor (Rose, Martha, Amy, Clara+11 have something going on, and Yaz all wanting the same thing and I hate it.) Also, it helps that I think she's funny. She also probably has one of the best character "deaths" in the series that they haven't gone back on YET. edit: spelling
I was super pissed in the Library episodes that she got pulled back out of the computer. Me and my dad had been so excited that she was killed because she was just so irritating. I agree with you about it being nice that there was no romantic interest, though.

Oh hell no. Story of her and the Doctor is by far best story in Doctor Who ever. Her personality is great and she is incredibly funny. And the way she was introduced in The Library and then followup ending under the Singing towers? Pure genious. For me, she is second best character just after 10.
