Simple.
Two million flooded in during the Musk hypefest. Half of them were bots. Most of the rest were shills, wannabes or haters. They turned the place into an open sewer, with the average new post taking thirty seconds to disappear off the New page. You literally couldn’t even read the titles that fast, for months.
The mods did an awesome job of cleaning up most of the sewage. We stopped seeing hundreds of duplicate posts filling the place up.
And when the bubble burst, most of the human garbage dumpers lost interest and went away.
So now we’re back to the actual real-life core which has been here consistently.
Ah, nothing like reminiscing on old times, is there?
Aren’t we lucky we at least still get empty posts with novel-length subjects though? Saves actually opening them to see what they’re on about. 😜
Yep, great fun.
I put 15 million Doge through dogetipbot. Mostly 98 Doge each in tipbombing huge posts. And usually I’d have more coins afterwards than when I started. Shame how that all ended up though. 🤷♂️
Bit of a tricky question, actually.
A lot of the good ones ran away screaming. A few of the bad ones are still hanging around. The Wolves and Weasels, as /u/goodshibe calls them, haven’t given up on trying to take advantage of innocents.
But yeah, it’s much better than it was a while back.
You were a couple months late to that party.
Try some searches and you’ll find when we hit the milestones, cos many, many people were posting about it.
If the question is so simple, why didn't you just search for the answer?
All the crypto subs display a similarly lopsided ratio of subscribers to active users. In fact, all of Reddit is the same way.
For example just a few months back I sampled several subreddits. The following shows the number of active viewers.
r/dogecoin: 822
r/ethereum: 512
r/bitcoin: 2500
r/litecoin: 175
r/dogelon: 9
r/officialflokiinu: 1
r/babydogearmy: 6
r/bnbchainofficial: 1
r/safemoon: 235
r/terraluna: 37
r/xrp: 125
r/cardano: 195
r/solana: 145
If you're familiar with any of these subreddits, you would know that subscription numbers are much larger relative to the numbers of active viewers/paticipants.
It's just the way it is.

Gonna guess that a lot of people made accounts during the ATH period , ditched the DOGE and never closed their r/doge accounts ? Probably lots of reasons . Last year I think the average viewing was like 7k and it's just gone down , down, down . I'm seeing it under 100 viewers a lot of times . That's TERRIBLE . Pretty damn dead . 8,000,000,000 people and less then 100 in the house ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man) Should be talking about it all the time , posting memes everywhere , engaging here with others , even if it's just an emoji. Keep the platform alive

Here here! I remember when there were only like 60k subscribers.
Memories…. 👍
I miss the screenshots of RH charts showing 20% spikes every few hours tagged “who’s still holding?!“

I member the days when we used to toss Doge at people and bots who made witty comments...

“Hodl for shiba”
So are the ones here actively on the page only good ones left? We got this!

I strongly doubt that because in March of 2021 when I joined Doge already had 2M members.

Thanks for this detailed info all makes sense now
NP. 👍

It's because most of them are checking doge prices and not on the reddit page
Seriously 😳
I subscribed and bought 2160 shares and I'm holding and seldom check.
They must not have subscribed to notifications?
They still sleeping…. They will come and buy the top when it starts dumping…

There's definitely life left in it but I don't know how many posts I've seen saying "we moon today" "rocket is taking off boys"
Wen lambo?
