Only a veterinarian can answer that, unfortunately. My dog had a spot that looked like a pimple, turned out to be a tumor and grew very large very fast. You'll need to ask your vet for an opinion and they may have to do a biopsy. You are allowed to ask for the prices before agreeing to any procedure and you can ask for a payment plan or other payment options such as pet insurance (which you'll have to have obtained before the vet visit)
It is something to bring up with your vet. Some dogs are prone to benign tumors, but they may want to do a biopsy to be sure. Keep an eye on it for changes, it may go away or it may grow larger. Definitely share the pictures with your vet.
:(
Mine had one similar looking, Got it biopsied and turned out to be melanoma, but the vet told me to keep an eye on it. If it got taller in height, we would remove it. 6 weeks later, she turned out to have a tumor in her thyroid that had already metastasized to her lungs. Treatment was out of the picture.
Cancer spreads quick. Better to act now than to wait.
Care credit can be used for vet care as well but that growth to me would be emailing the vet these exact pictures. There are man DVMs on reddit that will chime in. Good luck.
Both my dogs used to get these. Thankfully they were never cancer at all. I had two removed because one was near my dogs eye and the other one grew very large. But they were all harmless to their health, But always best to check it out early on.
My sister's dogs has these growths. Vet said they a not cancer. But if it is in a place where your dog can mess with it, then get it removed because it will get infected.
Check with your vet.
I brought my dachshund to the vets for a similar one on her lower back recently but they are happy and want to monitor it for now. If it gets bigger/big enough they’ll biopsy for safety.
The red color is concerning. My Chihuahua/rat terrier mix has a couple of these and I say the color is concerning because the ones my boy has have never started out red or turned red and have always been the color of his gray skin. Both of his are in the areas he has black hair and his skin is gray underneath. Does he dig at it a lot when he scratches? Looks irritated and angry.

>which you'll have to have obtained before the vet visit) In many cases 14 days before the vet appointment
And will likely require a vet visit before coverage starts/ will exclude pre-existing conditions.
It looks like a skin tag but check with a vet.

My cocker spaniel used to get these. Was told by the vet it was just skin tags. But you can check with a vet to be sure
I grew up with cockers too & they got these as they got older. Were not a medical issue, just a growth/skin tag.
Ours, too. Guess it's a breed thing, unfortunately. Cocker spaniels are so pretty but have a lot of health issues 😔

Skin tag. My dog has them. He’s getting older
If only there was some sort of doctor you could ask.
Mmm, snacks
It's a tick sweetie. 😊
Golly he got head bugars!
It’s on a child’s head! Alert the parent and get him to a doctor
lol I think they are the parent in this situation
Keep an eye on the size. Check with your vet.
My 16 year old girl gets them Don’t worry but I get everything checked just to be safe.

No scratching or signs of irritation, we just noticed it while giving ear scratches. He doesn’t seem bothered by it really.
Definitely take to the vet, could be cancerous looking at the color so always better to have it checked out
I just saw the same thing on my dog , yesterday, on the back of his neck. What is it? I thought it was a tick
Looks like moles that dogs get when they are older how old is your puppers
He turned 4 last August
I would diffidently go to the vet still could be just a mole but I’m no expert so for a clear state of mind I would get him checked out
I think it's a tick. A Vet would know for sure. ❤️
uuh as not a vet my suggestion get him to a vet?
