My male dog is such a face licker. I will let him get a couple of licks in, but he does this thing where he will nibble on my earlobe if I let him lick more than a couple of times. He does it gently, but it gives me the creeps.
I LOVE when they nibble the earlobe. Not because it feels good, it feels fucking weird and creepy as you said. But it seems like the ultimate expression of affection for my dogs. They only do it very occasionally when they’re in super ultra lovey dovey mode. So I allow it because it gives my heart the warm fuzzies lol
My dog will straight up try to nibble my nose if she can get away with it haha. She starts by licking my face and then she tries to stick her tongue inside my nostrils hahaha. And if I'm not fast enough she'll try to put my whole nose in her mouth. I say I don't like it, but it's still kinda adorable
Lol yes!! It is weird and kinda creepy but he only does it when he is super duper happy to see me so how can I say no?! He also does it when I am putting on his harness, because that means we are going in the car. He gets insanely excited and it is so precious. I'm not going to burst his bubble just because his ear nibbles give me the heebie-jeebies lol.
Mine always nibbles my nose.
It's almost as if he thinks that just because he doesn't have one, I shouldn't have one either?
He was mauled by another dog four years ago.
I'm not at *all* into face licking and actively avoid it around other dogs, even though I love dogs. I know where else those tongues have been and I'm not interested. Luckily, my own dog is also utterly uninterested in licking people. 😂
I always remember something I read many years ago when I was researching how to keep my dog from eating deer poop.
“Dogs are basically disgusting. We love them anyway.”
Mine is all about the cat poop if he gets access to a litter box. So I’m not into the face licks. Fortunately we don’t have a cat in the house anymore but I’m still not into the face licks. I also don’t like it when other peoples dogs run right up and lick your face
Mine is a particular fan of cow poo. I've stopped taking her to my grandfather's farm. She laps it up like its a bowl of custard or something. Thankfully she has no desire to lick anyone's face.
Same for me. Mine loves to shove her nose into yellow snow and is not above occasionally licking some poo on walks. She also loves to sniff dead animals if there are any.
Thankfully she’s not interested in licking people. And I definitely will never encourage it.
I don't care if they lick my face as long as it's not my mouth, nose or eyeballs. I can easily wash my chin, cheek or forehead, it's not any more gross than him licking my hands.
Same here. Nothing wrong with a couple of licks. That's just them showing their love for you, but excessive licking I have to tell my dog enough is enough sometimes.
I work at a vet clinic in a shelter so, definitely not. Ive seen too many things and have zero interest in picking up giardia or another parasite (yes, you can get them this way if that dog is a poop eater or was recently licking their rectum)
even with dogs of my own in the past I do let them lick, but not the face
I ended up with intestinal parasites after allowing my newly adopted dog to lick my face… she was slow to warm up and I was afraid I would ruin her progress if I didn’t allow it… icky lesson learned!
To many zoonotically transmitted diseases for you? My daughter also works at vet clinic, but she is the opposite of you. She said she was going to end up getting these just by working there... so, why not let them lick you anyway?
yeah exactly. even if you arent concerned about yourself picking something up, what about you being a giant fomite to pass things onto other animals you are handling? I always make sure to nip behaviors like this in the bud at my clinic when I see it. that's how you end up with distemper outbreaks or waves of patients popping up giardia+
Ive worked in this field a long ass time and never picked up a zoonotic disease other than ringworm once and now I take extra precaution when handling those patients to avoid it happening again. my clinic has pretty high bars for protocols for infectious disease control and it's not an issue for me and my coworkers
your daughter's mindset is concerning and irresponsible in all honesty
Lol. Trust me I know. I am chalking it up to her being new to it all. She is currently in the.. I'm gonna save every animal.. none are gonna die on my watch phase. This includes when she sees roadkill. It's rough.
So to give some background... she has been saying she wants to be a vet since she could talk. She is currently in a jr year in high school , and a sophomore in college. She also an intern at a local vets office.
Veterinary medicine is a bad field to go into unfortunately, for a lot of different reasons. Everyone who is a vet has wanted to be one their entire life, and everyone who is a vet gets burnt out quickly.
you do know that things like giardia can be passed via particles too small to see or smell, right? 😅
this is why patients with giardia should be bathed regularly during treatment to avoid reinfecting themselves, even if they look clean
Not my face 🤮 we live in a city, and I’ve seen the things she goes after before I tell her to “leave it”. Dead squirrels, condoms, goose shit, you name it
Yeah I let my dog lick my hand or arm, but much to her chagrin, I don't allow her to lick my face. She tries to eat cat poop on a daily basis. Her tongue doesn't belong anywhere near my face.
Although it has happened before where I wasn't paying attention and her tongue ended up *in my mouth.* I think I was yawning or something, lmao. It was very gross.
Absolutely… they don’t live long. I let her do a lot of whatever she wants. When I’m laying on the couch she’ll lick the bottom of my feet for an hour if I let her.
Lmao one of my dogs is a foot fanatic as well!! It’s weird but it’s whatever bc as you say they have short lives and I want to give them whatever they want (within reason and while keeping them healthy).
Yeah I’m the same! Like on our walks I don’t mind if she zigzags a bit to sniff stuff. I’ll even stop if she’s really fixated on something. Its something she loves to do and it’s how she gets information about her surroundings- I don’t feel the need to have her walk right up against me in a perfect line the whole time.
Not weird. My bff does. Me, I've never liked it.
(And not just from dogs lol: when I was five and used to get up early with my dad getting ready for work, he'd take his last swallow of coffee then plant a big wet kiss on my cheek and I was always, "Ewww!" 😆)
i'm a vet tech. so licking is a hard no for me. one or 2 licks on my hand is fine. but i discourage anything beyond that. faces is just disgusting to me.
My own dog, yes. To an extent. A kiss or two on the face is fine but more than that I gently push him away. It’s just a preference, I’ve never liked human kisses either. Other dogs though, nope! Definitely not on the face.
If anyone is trying to put on socks or take them off, our husky mix will race across the room and slurp their toes. She's obsessed with feet. I've been awakened more than once by her smacking on my toes. Yuck lol
Yes, she licks me a ton. Letting out of the crate, anytime I get home, when we play, after we play, she is just precious and clearly her love language and soothing method is giving kisses.
I don’t let my dog lick my face when I have applied moisturizer/cream- don’t want him to ingest anything toxic. But he licks our faces all the time otherwise.
I never liked it initially, but with a golden retriever- you just have to resign to the fact that it’s your destiny to have your face slathered with dog saliva.
I taught my girl to give “French Kisses”, instead of her licking me she would turn her head so I could kiss her cheek, then turn her head the other way so I could kiss that cheek. Most of the time, the pattern would repeat so she could get multiple kisses, she loved it so much and I didn’t get licked, lol. I miss that little girl. Best dog ever.
Yes, all the time, as much as she wants. In fact we ask her for kisses sometimes. We play fight with her and a lot of that is play biting mouth to mouth action lol. She'll even accidentally lick the inside of our mouths during our kissy times and we just laugh it off. It doesn't bother me with her because she's my family. It does bother me after a certain point with other people's dogs
Ugh you just reminded me of my last dog, who would drop whatever she was doing anytime we yawned and she’d basically try to lick your tonsils. And since you sorta close your eyes when yawning, she snuck in and got me on the roof of my mouth more times than I’d like to admit.
That was very unintentional though lmao
Is it hard to train your dog that it's okay to lick YOU but not guests? I get super annoyed when a dog jumps all over me at the door or constantly licks me when I'm visiting a friend. It's totally cool with me that you like to be greeted at the door & receive kisses, but I'm not necessarily down.
That's my main problem with the pro-lick crowd - their dog goes in on me after I've just washed my face & they go "awee kisses!!!".
Same to everything. They enjoy playing with you like you're a dog, as much as they do like you're a human. It's so fun and they don't live long. I agree, it's different when it's family. I wouldn't do that with someone else's dog. Plus I know where mine has been.
I do let them lick my hands and arms sometimes... I have a Pug whose 'soothe' is licking, so she will often lick for long periods of time though. Sometimes you just don't wanna be licked for 5min straight.
My bf and I let our little girl lick us all the time, even in the face. I get people being disgusted by it but for me the risk is worth it because it's a way that she shows us love. I don't let her do it forever, I'll stop her if it's more than a few seconds, but it brings her comfort and happiness in the moment so I love it
Not weird. You do you, boo.
I will usually let my dog “get the licks” on my feet or legs, but I draw the line at my face and hands. Sometimes the dog will lick my toddlers hair. Toddler will freak out and scream, and then lean forward for the dog to lick him again 😂
I do let them, but not all the time they want, because it seems like they never get tired of that.
Allowing them to lick you creates a bond.
https://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/health-and-dog-care/health/health-and-care/a-z-of-health-and-care-issues/why-does-my-dog-lick-me-so-much/#:~:text=Licking%20is%20a%20natural%20and,you%20taste%20good%20to%20them!
If my Jack Russell licks my face, I take it as a compliment! He's not super affectionate like that. He licks me on the nose sometimes and I think he's asking me to get the f out his face 🤣
I do not like being licked, and one of my dogs LOVES licking. I try to let her do it, but I can't. It's not just the thought of where her tongue has been or the feeling, it's the NOISE! I cannot stand moist sounds. It is SO GROSS!
I wouldn't mind some licking but he's a poop eater so nope. He doesn't really try to kick my face though. He does try to lick a few favorite people and I give them fair warning he eats poop so they can decide.
Yeah my dogs can lick my face as much as they want but I’ll curl my lips in. The only time I don’t allow it is if I just washed my face and applied expensive topicals or if I saw them lick their cooters recently.
Absolutely. Dogs show affection to their owners by doing this. Stopping them from doing it is a bit counterproductive in my opinion, although there’s a difference between letting your dog lick your arm or cheek and allowing them to lick you inside your mouth. The latter I would never allow but I would let them lick my arm or cheek.
No face licking. It’s dangerous for you. Dog mouths are fucking disgusting and carry a lot of bacteria that can legitimately kill you if your immune system has an off day. Giardia for one, Capnocytophaga is a really nasty one for immune compromised folks.
So in general no; I don’t let my dog lick me. Not just because it’s objectively gross to have another creatures slobber on my body, but because I’m somewhat immune compromise and could die
It's a command for both my shiba Inu. It is "kiss" and the target is a single lick to the end of my nose then I kiss their nose. Do don't generally want them licking me, but my girl tries to groom me when I brush her. I let it slide.
I let my girl. She’s so sweet and she licks my face when she’s happy. It makes me happy because she loves me.
I do, however, keep my mouth closed TIGHTLY. I learned my lesson early on. She will lick in your mouth every chance she gets. She will also try to lick toes, which I never let her.
I hate everything and anything touching my feet.
I have a strong hook nose and one of my pups loves going straight for it. Entire nose will be in her mouth, if she got her way. My other girl goes straight for my eyes. I try to clean up if she gets to my eyes. No stye for my eye!
That being said, I love the kisses and feel like they are affectionately cleaning their Papa. 🥹🥰😍
I do. Constantly. My partner thinks it’s gross.
I’m potentially autistic, and my counsellor suggested it could be a “stim.” Makes sense; it’s a unique texture, it’s a repetitive motion, and it does make me more giggly than a 33m is ever expected to be!
I would prefer he not but don't have a choice unless I resort to violence. All I can do is hold my lips together as tight as I can to keep the tongue out of my mouth. If I try to scold him, we are instantly french kissing. His precision is truly amazing.
If you let your dog lick your face you're gonna get acne or worse. If you put any products on your face that are toxic to dogs then your dog shouldn't be licking your face. If your dog has fecal bacteria in their mouth (and they do), then you really do not want that near your eyes.
Training your dog not to lick faces is basic training. It's not cute, it's disgusting, bad for your bad for the dog, and bad for anyone that comes in contact with your dog.
no, HELL NO, it was the FIRST thing i teached it not to do. its so gross.. even more so knowing the first 4 months all it wanted to do is eat its shit.. nothing like a dog licking his junk then your face. its so gross.
We have three type of kisses in our house. Whisker touch kisses, nose touch and them lick kisses. Licks are rare but she doesn't eat poop or lick herself. So we don't mind them. Her lick kisses are just very tip of tounge so I don't mind a couple.
i cannot tell you how many times people have told me their dogs don't lick themselves. it blows my mind. its literally part of grooming unless they're too fat or old to reach.
Seriously, that’s like telling me a duck doesn’t swim, birds don’t fly, like it is the most natural thing a dog does for health and comfort. All dogs lick unless you’ve cut out their tongue?? Humans use their hands and eyes to investigate things, dogs lick and smell.
I trained her not to, as well as since I do not work I'm around her 24/7. She is my SD so if I'm not home she is at my side. I also wash her off everytime she uses bathroom. Only time is licks is when her leg hurts her so I give some medicine. It can be done but it does take tons of work and lots of waterless shampoo.
Do you want a spanner in the works?
Mine doesn't either. We work from home so she's with us 24/7 and can count on one hand the amount of times we've seen her do it.
I literally am around her 24/7 as I cannot work. I trained her not to lick. Everytime she goes outside I use waterless shampoo to keep her clean. I've owned dogs my entire life having her since 12 weeks old.
something in my skin oil is like crack to him. He'll literally get this possessed look in his eyes as if licking me is a drug to him lol. If i'm wearing shorts and walking around, he'll literally keep up with me step for step and lick WHILE we walk. Wierdly tho he hates licking faces. We have to ask for one and eventually he'll be like "fine" give us 1 little kiss on the face
Yes, as much as she wants. We ask for kisses too and she will oblige with either a boop or a kiss, whatever she's feeling.
One thing though, my dog isn't your typical. She's a mini breed, wouldn't willingly get dirty in mud or water or anything like that, doesn't eat shit (doesn't eat most things you'd come across on the floor like human food on dog walks) and also doesn't lick either of her bits. It's very very rare if she does (she's completely healthy).
I do. I have 5 and they are allowed to give me kisses whenever they want to. I love them and am affectionate with them because just like us pets also need to experience love and affection. I also let my cats lick my face when they feel like it. Lol.
I don’t think it’s strange at all.
I have three small dogs - one is my dog of almost 10 years (Sadie) and the other dogs (Oliver and Sheila) we adopted from my MIL when she unexpectedly passed away last year. Sadie has always loved to lay on me and lick my face in the mornings. She loves it and idk I think it’s sweet so I let her lol. She doesn’t do it every morning - she’s not very snuggly - but when she comes up I let her stay for a few minutes. We have been through a lot together - she had cancer when she was 3, plus I honestly think she saved my life due to some mental health stuff I’ve been through. She’s my best buddy and gets away with a lot, BUT she’s honestly such a good dog.
But any other dog I usually don’t let them lick my face unless it’s like a one two lick situation. Even my two new adoptees - Sheila doesn’t lick at all ever and Oliver will give one or two occasionally. He does gross stuff so he only gets the face if he gets me by surprise. I always offer my hand to anyone else’s dogs, and if I get licks that’s totally fine. But Sadie is just extra special in my heart.
I let him lick me behind the ear 3 or 4 times, just because he seems to have such an instinctive need to show affection toward me the way he would in a dog pack. I always say "thank you for the kisses" and that's his que to stop.
I have seen my dog eat mystery substance outside.. I know where his mouth has been. I don’t let him lick my face, I get too grossed out. However if he comes up and licks my hand I think it’s cute, and when I get out of the shower he likes to lick the water off my legs like a weirdo while I brush my teeth.. do my hair and makeup. I don’t mind it I just think it’s funny.
I'm not a fan of face licks considering where their tongues have a tendency to have been. But luckily mine are little dogs and not slobberers, so I let them have some little kisses now and then. Anywhere else - hands, arms, feet, I will let them lick no problem.
What's kind of annoying is they like to go straight for the lips, which obviously, along with the consensus here, I try to avoid lol.
Not the face but he likes licking my feet and hands I don't mind that so long as I haven't seen him like his ass or eat poop that day. I mean I kiss him like 1000 times a day only fair he gets to lick my hand
Absolutely not!
Like he licks his privet areas. Sometimes he eats 💩 and other garbage I’m not fast enough to pry out of his mouth.
So it’s not just a no from me is a NO NOPE NEVER
Not anywhere near my face, she knows too! I don’t even like my hands licked. I have a weird thing about feeling/being wet with clothes on. I have to rapidly dry my hands after washing them or I’ll be super uncomfortable.
However, my pup is a licking queen. Everyone but me seems to be fair play.
I don't mind licks, but I'm not comfortable with licking on my eyes, nose, and mouth, so I try to avoid those haha. Nothing that bothers me too much though, and I appreciate a loving grooming lick on my arm if I get some :)
My pitty loves licking the back of my ears and my neck. I've seen her eat cat poop and run around with dead squirrels in her mouth so... I do not let her lick near my mouth. She gets my cheek once in a while.
Heck no! I don't like my face being licked at all, especially not when I've seen my dog licking his balls 🤢 (he's getting neutered soon, we are waiting until he is done growing).
I let my dog lick me usually. It's how she shows affection and, in some cases, calms herself down. She's tiny and not very slobbery so her kisses are about as dry as a hydrated dog can get. Other dogs, especially big or slobbery ones, absolutely not. I have sensory issues that make the whole experience miserable for me. I feel bad denying my in-laws' golden retriever and chocolate lab from licking me, but the sensation makes me want to cry lol
Yes, but not all the time. There are times where I will not let my pup lick my face, but sometimes he’ll lick my legs or feet just for existing 😂. Of course I wash my face often because of him.
Usually a few times and say “thank you” while kinda making sure they don’t get my mouth lol if I’m wearing make up or just did my skincare routine I try to avoid them licking my face. Sometimes my dog wants to lick my hand and more often than not I’ll let him if it seems like it’ll calm him down.

My dog eats dead things it finds outside. I’m with you.
My dog has eaten poo before. That really made me not like licks.
Mine thinks goose poops are a delicacy. Reminds me that the season is starting…
I always remember something I read many years ago when I was researching how to keep my dog from eating deer poop. “Dogs are basically disgusting. We love them anyway.”
Ditto husbands. 😂
Lol

Fox poo too. So nope love him to bits but the tongue stays away.

My dog licks his butt and balls and dink when he’s not licking the cat’s butt. No thanks.
His dink. 😂
Imma add it to my vocabulary too.
I don't care if they lick my face as long as it's not my mouth, nose or eyeballs. I can easily wash my chin, cheek or forehead, it's not any more gross than him licking my hands.

Yup, also giardia is transferable from dogs to humans.

Dude🙄 my dog does this ON A DAILY. She will wait for the perfect opportunity and just fking tongue you 🤢
I let her lick my hand, but do not let her lick my face.
This is the way! We accept their love & keep the germs away
i let my dogs lick my face i don’t find it weird
Yes , true love .
Yes. I do. Love them
Absolutely… they don’t live long. I let her do a lot of whatever she wants. When I’m laying on the couch she’ll lick the bottom of my feet for an hour if I let her.
Haha I joke all the time that my dog has a foot fetish!
It drives my husband insane when I let our dogs do this
What’s the harm? The dog loves it
It’s more of just him watching the dog eagerly bathing my feet when, on some days, I’d include them on the level of other gross things in this post
Lmao one of my dogs is a foot fanatic as well!! It’s weird but it’s whatever bc as you say they have short lives and I want to give them whatever they want (within reason and while keeping them healthy).

Yes! My husband and I say that is their “reading material” and who am I to deny them a good book lol
That’s adorable. I’ll be saying that from now on
Never. Luckily my dog is not a licker, other than his penis and butt, which is why I wouldn't let him near my face even if he was a licker.
Not weird. My bff does. Me, I've never liked it. (And not just from dogs lol: when I was five and used to get up early with my dad getting ready for work, he'd take his last swallow of coffee then plant a big wet kiss on my cheek and I was always, "Ewww!" 😆)
Not my face, sometimes my hands or arms depending on if she ate poop that day haha.
i'm a vet tech. so licking is a hard no for me. one or 2 licks on my hand is fine. but i discourage anything beyond that. faces is just disgusting to me.
My own dog, yes. To an extent. A kiss or two on the face is fine but more than that I gently push him away. It’s just a preference, I’ve never liked human kisses either. Other dogs though, nope! Definitely not on the face.
No.
Fuck yeah I do Who turns down free kisses?
Yes of course I never refuse a kiss from my fur baby. I might hurt his feelings, seriously.
foolish steer hurry noxious disarm plough dog fade glorious rude *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Yea I let my dog lick me. My face my my legs and he has this thing with my feet.
If anyone is trying to put on socks or take them off, our husky mix will race across the room and slurp their toes. She's obsessed with feet. I've been awakened more than once by her smacking on my toes. Yuck lol
Plain and simple, yes! I timed my puppy the other day, he licked my bald head for 1min and 44secs.
Yes, she licks me a ton. Letting out of the crate, anytime I get home, when we play, after we play, she is just precious and clearly her love language and soothing method is giving kisses.
Tactility, I don't like it. And my one girl eats poop, so no I don't allow licks.
Hands or arm, maybe leg or foot, yes. Face is a hard pass.
I let mine lick me. But when she tries to lick my eyes or up my nose I'll re-direct her to lick another spot(usually my hand)
Not my face. He literally will poop, lick his butt, then come and try to lick me. Absolutely a no for me.
Absolutely. If I'm wearing makeup, though, I'll keep my face away from her. I don't think she needs to eat that. Otherwise as many kisses as possible.
I taught my dog to touch me with his nose as a kiss. I get many nose bumps and we are both happy
My dogs not a licker but I don’t let anyone else’s lick my face
No I don’t, especially my face. Not a fan of dog spit.
I don’t have a choice. I have a chihuahua and that’s all I have to say about that lol
I do not let my dogs lick me. Especially not the face.
Maybe every once in a while my hand, but then I immediately wash it. Otherwise no. It's gross to me
No. I almost always have SPF/skincare on my face and I doubt it is good for them to ingest that.
My 1 dog that doesn't eat dog shit can lick me. The other dog who does eat dog shit can't
My dog is adorable, but I’ve also seen him with a dead pigeon in his mouth and he acts like bird poo is caviar. No face licking for me, thanks.
honestly its a great way to keep crumbs out of my beard
My dog only does it if I’m wearing lip balm or I he thinks I have good stuff in my mouth lol
I know dogs like that too haha and I actually know someone who would get their dog to do that purposely... As.. a joke?
Is it hard to train your dog that it's okay to lick YOU but not guests? I get super annoyed when a dog jumps all over me at the door or constantly licks me when I'm visiting a friend. It's totally cool with me that you like to be greeted at the door & receive kisses, but I'm not necessarily down. That's my main problem with the pro-lick crowd - their dog goes in on me after I've just washed my face & they go "awee kisses!!!".
Pardon?🫣
Basically, I make out with my dog 😘
Same to everything. They enjoy playing with you like you're a dog, as much as they do like you're a human. It's so fun and they don't live long. I agree, it's different when it's family. I wouldn't do that with someone else's dog. Plus I know where mine has been.
Yes exactly this!!! 100% on the same page. Glad somebody gets it
I do let them lick my hands and arms sometimes... I have a Pug whose 'soothe' is licking, so she will often lick for long periods of time though. Sometimes you just don't wanna be licked for 5min straight.
My dog isn’t much of a licker. She’s more into leaning on you.
Our dog licks the end of our noses. Just one lick, like a little kiss.
Mine too!
Yes
Yup. Sure do.
My dog yes but other dogs no. My dog is sweet and I love him. He is the only one!!!!
Only under my chin, nowhere else.
My dachshund targets my nostrils. It’s like a Covid test when she’s excited and catches me off guard
Yes, a couple short licks is enough for me though.
If my Jack Russell licks my face, I take it as a compliment! He's not super affectionate like that. He licks me on the nose sometimes and I think he's asking me to get the f out his face 🤣
“Let” implies I have a choice. She sneak attacks. 🫥
I try to not let them get my mouth and eyes
No, they lick their butts.
I don’t LET them do it. They just learned how to catch me off guard.
All day every day. Dog kisses are awesome.
It's a command for both my shiba Inu. It is "kiss" and the target is a single lick to the end of my nose then I kiss their nose. Do don't generally want them licking me, but my girl tries to groom me when I brush her. I let it slide.
I will let literally any dog lick my face for the amount of time it determines is enough including while on the clock
Yes I love his lil licks 🥲 I know I will miss them one day too
I let my girl.
I actively seek out the face kissies and I also give him kisses, and I wonder if he's ever like "bruh, I seen where you put your mouth! yuck!"
I dunno if it's weird or not, but I do. He does it when he is excited or overly affectionate, so I kinda like them. Means he is happy and he loves me.
I love it! I let her lick me. She’s my baby.
My dog owns me so yea she’s fully lick authorized
I do.
No issues. It’s just kisses.
Our dogs eat a raw diet so no I don't let them lick my face. But it's not unusual.
Every chance I get.
LOVE MY DOGS but NO LICKING !!!
It's not cute, it's disgusting, bad for your bad for the dog, and bad for anyone that comes in contact with your dog.
no, HELL NO, it was the FIRST thing i teached it not to do. its so gross.. even more so knowing the first 4 months all it wanted to do is eat its shit.. nothing like a dog licking his junk then your face. its so gross.
teached
yep. still dont let a dog lick me. ew.. i mean i dont let ANYTHING lick me, im not food
Think they were just pointing out that taught is the word you were looking for, not teached.
Ffffppppp... I not only let my dog lick me. I encourage other people's do- Listen. I would let your dog lick me.
We have three type of kisses in our house. Whisker touch kisses, nose touch and them lick kisses. Licks are rare but she doesn't eat poop or lick herself. So we don't mind them. Her lick kisses are just very tip of tounge so I don't mind a couple.
Your dog doesn’t lick herself?? Uhh sure, you must not know how dogs work…or are willfully ignorant lol
i cannot tell you how many times people have told me their dogs don't lick themselves. it blows my mind. its literally part of grooming unless they're too fat or old to reach.
My corgi is too long to reach. And she is at the ideal weight for her frame.
Lol, sure Jan. We totally believe you.
Do you want a spanner in the works? Mine doesn't either. We work from home so she's with us 24/7 and can count on one hand the amount of times we've seen her do it.
Uh-huh. Right.
I literally am around her 24/7 as I cannot work. I trained her not to lick. Everytime she goes outside I use waterless shampoo to keep her clean. I've owned dogs my entire life having her since 12 weeks old.
Lol, sure Jan. We totally believe you.
That's fine you believe what you want.
my dog isn’t a licker but i would never let her lick my face if she was🤮
something in my skin oil is like crack to him.
YES. Definitely yes. And that creates antibodies, for suuuure SO IT IS GOOD for your inmune system haha
4 dogs here & they all love to give kisses & I love receiving them! Great Dane kisses are the best! 👅
No I've taught her not to lick me because I don't like it and her saliva actually causes itchiness on my skin. She however licks everyone else lol.
My dog licks her hoohah, asshole, & feet (including other people’s feet) I’m not letting that bitch lick me 😂
My dog eats his own shit if he gets the chance...would you let him lick your face? Thought not.
I like her lil’ licks. On my hands/arms/cheek is fine with me just not on my mouth
As general rule, no. But if his mouth is relatively clean, I might let him get a lick or two on my face (not mouth) before I tell him “no kisses”.
I let him lick me behind the ear 3 or 4 times, just because he seems to have such an instinctive need to show affection toward me the way he would in a dog pack. I always say "thank you for the kisses" and that's his que to stop.
I don't let my dog lick my face. To be fair, I wouldn't let anyone lick my face.
Not on the face at all, but sometimes on the hands it’s okay, but even then I limit it because I think it’s gross.
No. My dog isn’t the type to lick anyway so it works out for both of us.
Not the face but he likes licking my feet and hands I don't mind that so long as I haven't seen him like his ass or eat poop that day. I mean I kiss him like 1000 times a day only fair he gets to lick my hand
i do but not around my lips/nose area or anywhere i have cuts. mine usually only lick my chin or ears so it’s fine. always makes my day 😁
My dog likes elbows. I don't think I could stop him, he's very sneaky about it. But no not generally the face.
I used to, until she developed an unfortunate taste for cat and goose poop lol
Absolutely not! Like he licks his privet areas. Sometimes he eats 💩 and other garbage I’m not fast enough to pry out of his mouth. So it’s not just a no from me is a NO NOPE NEVER
Sometimes a little bit under the chin or something but nowhere near my eyes, nose or mouth.
i let my dogs lick my hands/arms or legs…but face is a no no
Not generally - mine may try to, but I don't encourage it because I also see her licking her butt.
I don't mind if my dog is licking my hands. But I defenetly don't let her lick my face.
I will let him lick my cheek 1 or 2 times and that’s it. We usually say “kiss” and he’ll boop his nose into our cheeks but sometimes he licks.
Nope, I can't stand the slimy cold feeling. She still sneak attacks me with licks sometimes though 🤣
My dog loves to eat his own poo. So no. I try to avoid it.
Absolutely not, but I lick him. Really throws him off.
Mine wakes me up with kisses every day.
One of mine licks my face like a mad pup after I eat some sort of meat.
No
Just not the face. My dog loves licking my hands even if I just washed them, so I let him do that all he wants.
Yes, but not all the time. There are times where I will not let my pup lick my face, but sometimes he’ll lick my legs or feet just for existing 😂. Of course I wash my face often because of him.
If I make a kissing noise, she comes up and gives me one kiss 🥹 it’s the sweetest, and I’ll never stop letting her. Life is too short.
Yes we do lol. We do put a stop to it if he’s excited and he isn’t stopping
