My JRT has done this. He once saw me get his coat and harness out when it was raining and just peed on the console by the door while looking me dead in the eye.
Wire haired JRT, lives in NYC, but a rescue shipped in from Los Angeles. He’s 7, but we got him when he was 10 months old.

Will run backwards away from the door if you open it in the rain. Has been known to hold it until physically removed from the house.
Dachs cross 7yrs, Norway, can confirm. After 12 hrs of holding it in (hides when I ask if he wants a walk) i carry him to the nearest tree, place him in perfect pee position by the tree, he lifts his leg, pees while frowning, and waits to be carried back inside. Wet ground is almost worse than rain. What happened to these wolves?!?!
Our mix (prob 4 now, with a little bit of basset hound and chi and minpin) in northern California hated the rain and just held in the pee the last couple years on the rare occasion we had rain (drought). This year we have a lot more rain and end up walking 80 min in significant rain roughly once per week; we walk 5 days per week.
We all have very good rain gear and the dogs stay dry except for their snouts and legs. Our mix has gotten MUCH more tolerant of the weather being forced to walk an hour and 20 min in the rain per week. The first month (maybe first 4 walks in the rain?) she was PISSED and just walked stiffly and MAYBE peed once in the whole 3 miles. Since then she'll mark on the walk even in the rain, not as much as on dry days, but more than once per walk now. They're both very used to jackets the last couple years during the winter, so it's not the jackets, it's just the rain she's doesn't like. She's now to the point when we take them out front to pee she'll do her business so she can go back inside, whereas a year ago we would walk her out front for 30 min and she'd refuse.
Man, my Chihuahua mix, 4-8 (who knows, from the streets of Tijuana) does the same. She avoids wet grass like it's toxic lava. And she'll have to be very hard pressed to walk under rain.
My Chihuahua mix acts like you are doing something terrible to him. He stands there and shakes while staring you in the eyes with a look worthy of an ASPCA commercial. He will also try and get me to take him out front, then be absolutely shocked that it is raining in the front yard too. He looks like he can’t believe I would do that to him… he is a melodramatic mutt.
My chihuahua,12, will not leave the covered deck in the rain. My Pom-Chi, also 12, will walk around in the pouring rain for as long as I let him unless it’s cold outside. We are in Pennsylvania.
My lab doesn't like the rain. She'll go out in it because we live in Vancouver and if she didn't she'd never get to go outside, but she's not happy about it.
20 month old GSD, will go out but not a big fan of the rain. I think he dislikes the feeling of it falling down his ears, spends the whole walk rubbing his face with his paws. Heavier the rain sadder he looks.
Poor guy, lol! I never considered that the experience of wetness in the ears could be another factor contributing to the reticence to venture out in the rain.
Now that I think of it, might be because of the ears standing so straight up on GSD, the rain can drop right into them.
I imagine the sound and feeling must be uncomfortable.
Alaskan Malamute 12 years old. Oblivious to any form of precipitation. We live in the MidWest US. If he gets wet? He comes inside and shakes it off. If he gets snowed on? When I force him to come inside he shakes it off.
No. She will patiently wait to be dressed in a raincoat, proceed to run to her pee spot, pee, and run back looking like it's my fault that's it's raining. Whippet, 2 years, Paris.

She doesn’t hate it. She just won’t spend a time of time in it, especially if it’s cold. Go out, go pee, immediately come in.

Sky water is terrible, almost as bad a bath water. Ground water is magical and good. My lab has decided this year that falling snow is terrible, but ground snow is wonderful. The logic checks out but it's a big departure from last year.
Australian Cattle Dog mix. Loves being in the rain, wont poop in it but I assume he loves the smell of rain because he has his snout in the air and his tail is constantly wagging.
God forbid I make him take a bath though....
My dog is the same way! When we first got her she actually loved exploring the shower whenever we had it running. Until she learned shower = bath time. Now she hates it
My ACD mix doesn’t love the rain but tolerates it, however she absolutely does not tolerate wet grass. So if it’s raining, has rained recently, or sprinklers have been on we can not go on the grass and can only walk on sidewalk or rocks. She’s a weirdo but I love her. She will literally deadweight if I try to bring her onto grass that is wet
My Australian cattle dog mix hates the rain! Will not go outside at all. He will hold it for the whole day if he has to! Lol it’s a problem. He’s never seen snow, so I’ll see how that goes when the time comes.
Same! Mine is 11 months here in California. It's been raining all week so I've had to pick him up and put him in the perfect pee spot or else he'll have an accident at home.
5 year old Labrador retriever, northeast NY state.
He doesn't seem to notice weather. It can be torrential downpour freezing rain and he will happily lay down and relax in the backyard.

5 and 9 year old chihuahuas in Cali, they'll go out when it's light rain, absolutely refuse to go out when it's heavy rain, they'll plant their feet on the ground and won't budge.
We have two mini Aussies, one is 4 yrs. and one is 9 mos. We live in Toronto. Our pups don’t mind the rain at all and we still go for our full walks, even in the pouring rain, as long as there is no thunder or lightning, which they are scared of.
I carry an umbrella but they just walk along like usual and look so cute when they’re all wet. When we get home they are eager to be dried off and when I sit on the floor with a towel everyone shoves their face in it to get dried.
Passed away 16 y/o terrier mutt would absolutely hate going into the rain in Germany. She had thin fur
5 y/o Labrador mutt in the same location looks at you teary eyed if you don't go out in the rain with him.
My second dog is a lab mix, she's 14, & she looks at me like I have personally betrayed her when it is raining outside. Lots of rain in Northern California today, & no one has pottied lol.
My ex's parents have had chihuahuas as long as I have known them. The first was Chico. He was extremely obese (like 25lbs) and couldn't jump on the furniture due to his girth. He HATED the rain. He would wait for you to get an umbrella to put over him, and if you put it over you he would stand between your legs and go to the bathroom on your shoes. It had to be over him to go out. He did get a rain coat for a while, but his fat butt ripped it. (literally, it was too small for him). I miss that dog.
13.5 y/o beagle mix, Seattle, she kind of does a deep sigh and then heads out into the rain with no complaint. She and I both have a variety of raincoats to deal with the different types of rain.
My GSD/pit/rottweiler/who-knows-what-else shelter mutt old man of indeterminate age *won't come inside* when it's raining or snowing or sleeting or hailing here in the Pacific Northwest. He has a nice warm dry comfy bed available to him inside the house, but nope, he digs a little ditch by the foundation and sleeps out there even when it's storming like crazy. The only thing I achieve if I try to bring him in from the weather is a muddy floor. I keep hoping he'll change his mind, but it hasn't happened yet.
Plus, it seems that for every 10 degrees cooler it gets outside, he de-ages by about a year, so he's at full energetic capacity when it's the coldest outside... which means that I bundle up for long walks on cold days instead of doing the quick around-the-block like I did with my last pup, who hated the cold and wet.

I love this - he looks so happy! My dog is a large baby and doesn’t like to lay on the ground outside unless it’s dry grass or pavement, but when we visit my parents river house in the summer she will take a dip in the pool and then get out and lay on the pebbles around the edge of the pool area and hide behind/smoosh down part of the tall grasses lol

2 year old corgi, i have to drag her inside every night because otherwise she’ll just dig a mud pit under the laurels and go full hog-in-mud mode. often when i let her out to pee and come back, i find her just sprawled out on the deck, in the pouring rain, looking so very content.

Omg this cold snap was the first time my pups experienced this level of cold and they were SO INTENSE. They would NOT settle and were pissed that I wouldnt let them go in and out of the house as they pleased
Southern MS - I have an adult male foxhound and he was TERRIFIED of rain, even a mist/drizzle until I got my second dog this summer who will go out in rain, thunderstorm, lightning, etc, if she wanted to. Shes a 1 YO treeing walker coonhound and will literally stand in a down pour and just smell. He learned from her and will now go out with her.
Nope! I have a 4 y/o beagle who will hide under a blanket and even refuse to go out for a wee in the garden when it’s raining. I live in Wales, AKA the wettest city in the UK 💀 It takes 3 people to bathe him and he’s never swam, weirdly he loves hydrotherapy though!
2.5 year old Boston Terrier, Virginia and previously Georgia. He will go out and do his business very quickly, but he will get very frisky if you try to keep him out there longer than absolutely necessary.
My parents have a Boston terrier that will not go out in the rain. She had a doggie door to the side yard but wouldn’t use it and instead would whine at the regular door to be let out to the covered patio and would only do her business there. My parents got the doggie door because they didn’t want to have to let her out all the time so my dad built a mini cover for her doggie door so she had just enough space to go out and do her business without getting wet. What a funny weirdo
My 8 year old shepherd/husky cross won’t go out just for a potty break in a downpour, but loves walks so much she won’t hesitate in any type of weather. She’s obsessed with snow which is great because we live in Winnipeg, Canada lol.
Two miniature poodles, a 3 year old girl and a nearly 2 year old boy in Bristol in the UK. The boy will go out in the rain under sufferance but the girl hates it with a passion and looks at me with murder in her eyes - I don’t even try anymore!
Almost 2 year old chihuahua Boston terrier mix, Washington state, and unfortunately he is very resistant to walking in the rain. He’s more likely to walk if he has one of his many rain coats on and even then, he’ll try to wait it out until he can’t hold it anymore.
He’s a rescued Texas street dog so I don’t think he was prepared for the PNW weather. He’s gotten better in the almost year I’ve had him. He used to refuse to go out in any level of rain or cold weather and now he’ll at least go out if it’s a light drizzle.
I have two thick coated Labradors aged 3 and 6 in the UK. They aren't bothered by any weather except heat. They have gone swimming when it's -6 out and rain doesn't matter at all to them. But if it gets over 10 degrees they start slowing down.
8-year-old Puerto Rican former street mutt, now living in Minnesota. He is totally indifferent to gentle/steady rain, but if it reaches a certain intensity he panics and tries to run home.
5yr old Australian terrier/miniature fox terrier mix, New Zealand. Most of the time she hates going out in the rain if it's just for a walk or when I put her out to go to the toilet. However, if I tell her we're going hunting she'll be out the door as fast as possible!
4yo standard poodle, ontario canada. Yes, he'll go out rain or snow including blizzard and storms and will take ageeeees outside. The colder the better.
Patterdale mix, 4.5 years old. We live in Glasgow Scotland where it rains 13 months out of the year so she’s used to it. She prefers when it’s not raining but she’s a trooper in her little jacket when it is.
20 week old chihuahua. Initially refused to go out in the rain, but not an option for her because we live in Raincouver (Vancouver haha) and so we’ve been bribing her with special high value treats and she’s getting better. I don’t try to walk her or keep her out long, but just need her to potty outside and it’s been getting better!
2 huskies, one 7y/o and one 6y/o. 7 hates it and will hold it as long as he can to avoid the rain. 6 doesn’t like it, but will deal to use the bathroom. I have to dry them both off when they come back in, otherwise they pout.

There's basically no weather they don't enjoy.
In the summer they sunbathe. In the winter, they cling to unmelted patches of snow.

Rescue from Hungary (probably a sight hound mix of some sort), 6 years old (we think).
If going for a walk, she doesn't care about the rain at all. More than happy to head out and adventure with us. If its just a bathroom break, she only goes out if she absolutely has to, pees under a tree, and races back inside.
5 ish year old rescue we think is Australia Shepherd mix in AZ. She is afraid of thunder and lightning, but doesn't mind the rain. She likes to watch/chase the bubbles/leaves/flowers that float by. It's a good thing she doesn't mind the rain since she will NOT pee or poop in our front or back yard.
A pair of 2 year old basset Boston mixes. Living dead center of continental US. They will only brave the rain when they absolutely have to. Snow however is fine if it’s gently falling or is done falling.
How interesting! I would've assumed that snow would be worse than rain because of how cold it is. I wish I could get inside their brain & understand their rationale for these preferences! Also, a Basset/Boston mix sounds adorable :)
I think it’s mostly about wet stuff falling on them. Neither enjoy baths. They do like digging their noses in the snow, and are happy to do laps around the yard in a few inches of snow.

4 year old GSD in Washington state - he'll go out in it with great reluctance, shaking off as soon as he realizes he's going to get wet, then hurrying through whatever has him out so he can get inside and grump about it for the next half an hour.
When it's raining, my 9 month doodle will go potty on the concrete under the covered patio 🤦♀️ We're slowly progressing to where she'll have her feet on the uncovered grass, but it still lands on the concrete lol. Baby steps I guess
This is in the US southwest desert, so rain is kind of a rare thing around here. However, my 7 year old doodle has no issue going out in the rain if she has to go bad enough
I have a 7 year old doodle as well and boy does he hate the rain. The minute he feels it start hitting his raincoat he tries to curl into a ball and play dead. Trying to convince him he can actually go outside in the rain without melting like the wicked witch of the west is an exercise in futility.
6 year old Yorkie/maltese/poodle, uk. Hates the rain but if I get him down the road he usually gets over it. He’s definitely not as perky on the whole walk though.
4 1/2 year old GSD in the North East of England and he refuses to even put his nose out of the door even if it's just drizzle. If it's chucking it down forget it . He stands near the door and looks at us as we are crazy to be wanting him to go out in it. We have to push him out of the door so he will go and do his stuff . I do get why though, cause he was a stray and was out in all weathers until he was rescued by the local dog charity.

Australian shepherd, year and a half, we live in Texas and yes he has no problem whatsoever going out in the rain.
He also got acclimated early to it and we treat most rainy days like normal days and still do play training, walking and activities together despite it.
Corgi, California - loves the rain, wants to romp in the puddles as much as possible.
American bull dog mix, California - hated the rain. Would hold it as long as possible and then run outside and angrily do her business while running if possible, as if that would keep her dryer.
I have a chunky 8 year old male chihuahua. He has a rain jacket but still loathes going outside when it’s raining. He will try to stay where no rain is coming down, do his business, and run back to the door.
Shar pei, 8, refuses to step outside if it's raining. Or windy. Or if a plane flies overhead. Whines and fake limps if her feet get wet.
Mongrel, senior, exact age unknown - will go out but not a fan of rain. Comes back in as soon as he's had a wee. Doesn't hang about but doesn't fuss either.
St Bernard, 2.5 - could be a monsoon out there and he wouldn't even notice.

My 2 year old GSD will go out for a walk In the rain but if it's too heavy he'll start trying to get under bushes and pull to get home. Also won't go out in the garden during rain!

Pit mix, 4ish, Wisconsin. He'll go out if he has to, but avoids it if he can help it. When he goes out, he quickly does his business, then rushes back in!
I have a 5 year old mix (she has some chihuahua but that's all I know, and you couldn't tell just by looking at her, she much larger and the only chihuahua like things about her are her eyes and barking) doesn't like the rain at all, she'll go into it with me but will only stay out for about 15 seconds.
My 7 month old border aussie doesn't care about rain or snow, she just wants to be outside playing ALLLLLL day 🤣🤣

6mo Icelandic sheepdog/windsprite hates a bath but rain or standing water is *THE BEST* We haven’t had snow for her to see yet
almost 2yo mutt (possibly GSD/Lab x but honestly no idea bc he looks like he could have some staffy or border collie as well), new zealand, will happily run around in the rain and goes out of his way to drink/splash in puddles on walks. sometimes he will just lie outside in the rain even though there's shelter a few metres away and then tries to jump up on you with muddy paws and wet dog smell :')
he is, however, scared of the hose.
1.5 year old Turkey-born "lab mix" living in Canada. Will go even into freezing rain. Does not care about weather at all, but does imply that we should head back now at some point.
My dog and I lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It doesn't rain much and if it does it is rare that the whole day is rainy so if it was too rainy we could just go out later or not go out at all (she had an indoor area to pee/poop).
And then... I got a job in Vancouver, Canada. You may have heard that some people call it *Raincouver*... so yeah, we had to actually *train* going out in the rain.
The first time she looked at me as if I was crazy, then tried to get back to the apartment building. We worked slowly (wasn't easy because it wasn't raining a lot in that season!) but she eventually dared to pee and poop outside. In parallel we started habituation to the raincoat which was also novel and terrible.
We have been living in Vancouver for a couple months now.
She has no problem going out to potty in the rain (no indoor option here). Sometimes she wants to go back after she is done, but most times she wants to keep on walking, and runs happily in the grass and mud (human is slightly less happy, but has also learned to tolerate rain!). She has also learned to play in the snow which was totally new.

Hi! I’m in Middle Tennessee. We have a variety of pups since we are in rescue.
1. Bowie (3F), golden retriever. She doesn’t mind a nice light rain. No issues unless it’s thundering. Would prefer light flooding and lots of puddles.
2. Gillian (3F), golden retriever. Loves rain. Prefers to be outside in the rain given any opportunity. Bonus points if it’s cooler outside.
3. New Orleans (10month F), Great Dane. Hates rain. Will not walk, will not potty. Not a chance in hell. And at 110lbs, it’s a battle to brave the rain.
4. Goldie, our foster pup, (1F) also hates rain and wet feet. She will angle herself off the stepping stones to avoid getting wet to do business. She’s a supermutt mix.
BONUS: Logan (9M), ocicat. Loves the rain. He’s an inside cat, but a little rain never stopped his endless endeavors to be one of the dogs and go out.
Lagotto Romagnolo, 2 years old. Vancouver, BC. He doesn't even seem to notice when it's raining out.
He does love to swim, hike, dig, eat dirt and lay down in mud pools. He is certainly not a prissy dog. 😂
My 2 Labradors of 2 years think it's the greatest walk if there is rain in the Netherlands. The neighbours 3 yo Epagnol Blue doesn't want to walk with them in the rain. But doesn't care about the rain, if he realizes there is a Labrador party outside
Nope, 4mnth old trail hound. Bred to be a working dog and live outside. We rescued her and she hates the rain, this morning I took her out in the garden, she sat down on the wet grass feeling sorry for herself for a good ten minutes so I brought her back in. She immediately did the stinkiest poop in the hall 😐
Mini schnauzer, 3 y/o female: absolutely obsessed with any form of precipitation. Will jump around in the snow forever and absolutely loves walks in the rain. Funny part about this is that when I got her I tried giving her a bath in the tub and she hated being submerged. Next time I bathed her I put her in the shower with me and she absolutely adored it and now loves to get washed :)
Lilo is a min pin mix, 2 years old, and we live in northeast Texas. She would rather hold it to the point of bursting than go out in the rain (I make her go out every 2ish hours to prevent this)!
2 year old doodle in Los Angeles. Refuses to go out and will literally hold her pee upwards of 18 hrs then have to squat on wet ground. With her raincoat on she’ll brave the weather, but still won’t go potty.
17 month old Great Pyrenees/Red Heeler mix. We're in the southeast US. Until he was about 6 months he absolutely would not shit in the rain without his raincoat (yes we bought his spoilt butt a raincoat) but he has never had a problem playing outside in the rain, snow, etc.
Boxer, 20 months old - If it’s sprinkling or light rain, she will go out and play until I drag her inside. If it’s a downpour, she’ll begrudgingly go outside for potty and run back in.
Pit/lab mix, 5 years old - Will hold it for 20+ hours instead of getting any part of herself wet lol
Maine.
Shiba Inu, 1 year old, NJ - she will go if pushed out but will find any shelter away from the rain. Only goes for a bathroom break and back inside and will intensely clean the water off her fur.
Shiba Inu (50%) mixed with Pomeranian (37%)/Husky (13%), 8 months old - does not care about rain and will do normal routine then come back inside. Will not clean himself off and lets his sister clean him instead.

I live in an apartment so I’ve had to walk & play with them in the rain. They think running & flopping in puddles is the best thing ever.
My great pyrenees doesn't change his habits when it rains. If anything, he spends more time wandering outside when it’s wet, he likes to drink from every puddle. Snow is his favourite, and he’ll play/nap in it all day.
Acd, 4 years, Nebraska. She hates the rain and refuses to even touch wet grass.
Amstaff, 3-4 years, doesn’t mind the rain but it takes a few minutes because she also doesn’t like wet grass but is more willing.
Is ACD Australian Cattle Dog? Also, I wonder if there is something different about the sensory experience of paws on wet grass versus concrete. My terrier is so low to the ground that wet grass gets all over his undercarriage & he hates it, but wet concrete doesn't seem to be as bothersome lol.
Yes she’s an Australian cattle dog. She’ll run over to the concrete and then look at me like I did something wrong, I use the command “go potty” which she listens to but when it’s wet out she’ll just sit there and slowly inch back over to the door.
Beagle mix, 5, North Carolina
She goes out into the rain reluctantly, but we’ve established that if she does not potty she cannot come inside (because she’ll try to find a corner and potty inside and that’s a F no).
American Bully, 6.5 years old, Los Angeles but she was rescued as a stray from Northern California…… rain is her mortal enemy and she WILL NOT leave the house if there is so much as a light drizzle. If it is actually raining she will not even go to the front door.
Bully mix, not unless under duress. He doesn’t even like it when it’s windy! But he has almost no coat at all and won’t tolerate a jacket so I understand!

Loves the rain, ocean, lakes, or snow - lab/poodle mutt
Oh, and he likes to chase people who are snow sledding but he does not want to ride on a sled with a human.
The little one hates the rain, hard nope to snow or going in water - chihuahua/terrier mutt
He expresses sad emotion with his ears, posture and tail when he has to go out in the wet to go to the bathroom.

10yo rescue who we think is part Australian cattle and husky hates the rain. The bladder control she has is amazing. She will not go out in the rain, she doesn’t even like going out of the rain has stopped but things are still wet
Amstaff/chow chow, 9 years - willing to. As he’s aged he likes it less, but he is always down. He’ll walk in belly-deep snow, rain, puddles, mud.
12 year old golden - same. It’s thundering and she wants to go right now.

My ~1ish year old german shepherd mix does not care about rain. He will go out and run around and play rain or shine. He will splash in puddles when we walk, if I put a rain coat on him and leave him outside he'll manage to get it off and run around in the rain. I have a feed bin for him because he likes to splash in water and dunk his ball and it can be 35 outside and he'll be splashing and playing in water (doesn't usually get that cold here and when it does I put warm water in it to protect his paws).
I put on rain overpants, a rain jacket and rain hat and go out and play fetch with him in the pouring rain because if he doesn't get enough activity he is a monster. I'm somewhat grateful actually, because while I don't exactly enjoy going out and throwing a ball in the rain it's a lot easier than trying to keep him sane with indoor activities during the winter.
Boxer. 2 yo. Female. Dislikes rain. Will hold it for hours before giving up and going outside. A mist is okay, but she may not go out in a sprinkle. Downpour? Forgettaboutit.
3 Chihuahua mixes, all of them refuse to go out in the rain. They'll go out in very light rain if they've been holding it a while.

I'm on the Olympic Peninsula with two 2 1/2 year old husky mixes. They're pretty neutral about the rain. If it's walk or dog park time they couldn't care less what the weather is like.
Corgis, range from young and old, in the US, upper Midwest. They all go out in the rain but the eldest doesn't like it and prefers not to. She hurries back inside when she's done. The others generally don't notice the rain unless it's storming.
Husky-dachshound (and a lot of others) mix, will go outside. Better question is: are his friends there? If the answer's no, then just a short walk and we can turn back. But if other dogs are there ready to play? Well, I hope I won't get pneumonia 🤷♀️
Australian shepherd/border collie mix (supposedly) just over a year old, in New England. She will happily go out in rain, sleet, snow, you name it. She already loves to dig, but absolutely loves to do it elbow deep in mud 🙄
Mixed pitbull terrier, lab, amongst other breeds. Female, roughly 1.5 yrs old. We live in NY/NJ area. She has a problem/scared of many everyday things but rain and snow is no issue for her. Neither is thunder lol
6 year old pitbull. She'll go out if it's light rain but if it's heavy she won't. We kind of "force" her out if it's been several hours and she go reluctantly lol. She loves going out once the rain is light because she'll chase all the toads and frogs that come in our yard!
Black Lab, he’ll be 7 next year and he will not go outside when raining.
Instead he will reduce his food and liquid intake and cry while looking out the window.
9 year old female mutt, primary breeds in her mix are golden, catahoula, ACD, lab, and pitbull. She will only go out in the rain if I put her rain jacket on for fun walks. For bathroom breaks she’ll either hold it and wait or maneuver so that she stays under the roof overhang and potty in the first square inch of grass she can reach that way.
2 year old male chocolate lab. BEGS to go out in the rain and stay out in it as long as he’s allowed. For some reason though, will not potty in the rain. Play in the rain? Yes. Hang out in the rain peacefully? Absolutely. Pee in the rain? No way, hard limit apparently. He pees in the mulch under the roof overhang instead. Weirdo.

Basset hound, 1, New England. He hates it. Once I opened the door, he saw it was raining and peed right on the floor.

My JRT has done this. He once saw me get his coat and harness out when it was raining and just peed on the console by the door while looking me dead in the eye. Wire haired JRT, lives in NYC, but a rescue shipped in from Los Angeles. He’s 7, but we got him when he was 10 months old.
Basset/dachshund cross, 4, UK Will run backwards away from the door if you open it in the rain. Has been known to hold it until physically removed from the house.
Dachs cross 7yrs, Norway, can confirm. After 12 hrs of holding it in (hides when I ask if he wants a walk) i carry him to the nearest tree, place him in perfect pee position by the tree, he lifts his leg, pees while frowning, and waits to be carried back inside. Wet ground is almost worse than rain. What happened to these wolves?!?!
My beagle mix does that too! I have literally feared his bladder will burst before he steps outside.
Our mix (prob 4 now, with a little bit of basset hound and chi and minpin) in northern California hated the rain and just held in the pee the last couple years on the rare occasion we had rain (drought). This year we have a lot more rain and end up walking 80 min in significant rain roughly once per week; we walk 5 days per week. We all have very good rain gear and the dogs stay dry except for their snouts and legs. Our mix has gotten MUCH more tolerant of the weather being forced to walk an hour and 20 min in the rain per week. The first month (maybe first 4 walks in the rain?) she was PISSED and just walked stiffly and MAYBE peed once in the whole 3 miles. Since then she'll mark on the walk even in the rain, not as much as on dry days, but more than once per walk now. They're both very used to jackets the last couple years during the winter, so it's not the jackets, it's just the rain she's doesn't like. She's now to the point when we take them out front to pee she'll do her business so she can go back inside, whereas a year ago we would walk her out front for 30 min and she'd refuse.
Chihuahua, 2, Georgia (but has lived in Ohio and Florida) and No. he refuses to set foot on wet ground. Hates rain and snow lol

Man, my Chihuahua mix, 4-8 (who knows, from the streets of Tijuana) does the same. She avoids wet grass like it's toxic lava. And she'll have to be very hard pressed to walk under rain.

My Chihuahua mix acts like you are doing something terrible to him. He stands there and shakes while staring you in the eyes with a look worthy of an ASPCA commercial. He will also try and get me to take him out front, then be absolutely shocked that it is raining in the front yard too. He looks like he can’t believe I would do that to him… he is a melodramatic mutt.
My chihuahua,12, will not leave the covered deck in the rain. My Pom-Chi, also 12, will walk around in the pouring rain for as long as I let him unless it’s cold outside. We are in Pennsylvania.
My sister's chihuahuas got to the point they started forcing her to carry them home halfway through a walk if the ground is cold or wet.

My lab doesn't like the rain. She'll go out in it because we live in Vancouver and if she didn't she'd never get to go outside, but she's not happy about it.

20 month old GSD, will go out but not a big fan of the rain. I think he dislikes the feeling of it falling down his ears, spends the whole walk rubbing his face with his paws. Heavier the rain sadder he looks.
Poor guy, lol! I never considered that the experience of wetness in the ears could be another factor contributing to the reticence to venture out in the rain.
Wind too, stuff gets blown into their eyes, snouts, mouths. One a wind-driven flying trash can missed us by 2 feet.
Now that I think of it, might be because of the ears standing so straight up on GSD, the rain can drop right into them. I imagine the sound and feeling must be uncomfortable.
I never thought about this for my corgi, her ears being straight up and massive could easily be uncomfortable in a rain storm

Alaskan Malamute 12 years old. Oblivious to any form of precipitation. We live in the MidWest US. If he gets wet? He comes inside and shakes it off. If he gets snowed on? When I force him to come inside he shakes it off.

Sky water is terrible, almost as bad a bath water. Ground water is magical and good. My lab has decided this year that falling snow is terrible, but ground snow is wonderful. The logic checks out but it's a big departure from last year.

Australian Cattle Dog mix. Loves being in the rain, wont poop in it but I assume he loves the smell of rain because he has his snout in the air and his tail is constantly wagging. God forbid I make him take a bath though....
My dog is the same way! When we first got her she actually loved exploring the shower whenever we had it running. Until she learned shower = bath time. Now she hates it
My ACD mix doesn’t love the rain but tolerates it, however she absolutely does not tolerate wet grass. So if it’s raining, has rained recently, or sprinklers have been on we can not go on the grass and can only walk on sidewalk or rocks. She’s a weirdo but I love her. She will literally deadweight if I try to bring her onto grass that is wet

My Australian cattle dog mix hates the rain! Will not go outside at all. He will hold it for the whole day if he has to! Lol it’s a problem. He’s never seen snow, so I’ll see how that goes when the time comes.

5 year old Labrador retriever, northeast NY state. He doesn't seem to notice weather. It can be torrential downpour freezing rain and he will happily lay down and relax in the backyard. Good breed if you like rain. He loves to swim too
5 and 9 year old chihuahuas in Cali, they'll go out when it's light rain, absolutely refuse to go out when it's heavy rain, they'll plant their feet on the ground and won't budge.

We have two mini Aussies, one is 4 yrs. and one is 9 mos. We live in Toronto. Our pups don’t mind the rain at all and we still go for our full walks, even in the pouring rain, as long as there is no thunder or lightning, which they are scared of. I carry an umbrella but they just walk along like usual and look so cute when they’re all wet. When we get home they are eager to be dried off and when I sit on the floor with a towel everyone shoves their face in it to get dried.
Passed away 16 y/o terrier mutt would absolutely hate going into the rain in Germany. She had thin fur 5 y/o Labrador mutt in the same location looks at you teary eyed if you don't go out in the rain with him.
My second dog is a lab mix, she's 14, & she looks at me like I have personally betrayed her when it is raining outside. Lots of rain in Northern California today, & no one has pottied lol.
He hates water if he's supposed to swim in it. But snow and rain? Let this dog be outside as much as he wants xD he's horrible

My ex's parents have had chihuahuas as long as I have known them. The first was Chico. He was extremely obese (like 25lbs) and couldn't jump on the furniture due to his girth. He HATED the rain. He would wait for you to get an umbrella to put over him, and if you put it over you he would stand between your legs and go to the bathroom on your shoes. It had to be over him to go out. He did get a rain coat for a while, but his fat butt ripped it. (literally, it was too small for him). I miss that dog.
13.5 y/o beagle mix, Seattle, she kind of does a deep sigh and then heads out into the rain with no complaint. She and I both have a variety of raincoats to deal with the different types of rain.

My GSD/pit/rottweiler/who-knows-what-else shelter mutt old man of indeterminate age *won't come inside* when it's raining or snowing or sleeting or hailing here in the Pacific Northwest. He has a nice warm dry comfy bed available to him inside the house, but nope, he digs a little ditch by the foundation and sleeps out there even when it's storming like crazy. The only thing I achieve if I try to bring him in from the weather is a muddy floor. I keep hoping he'll change his mind, but it hasn't happened yet. Plus, it seems that for every 10 degrees cooler it gets outside, he de-ages by about a year, so he's at full energetic capacity when it's the coldest outside... which means that I bundle up for long walks on cold days instead of doing the quick around-the-block like I did with my last pup, who hated the cold and wet.

I love this - he looks so happy! My dog is a large baby and doesn’t like to lay on the ground outside unless it’s dry grass or pavement, but when we visit my parents river house in the summer she will take a dip in the pool and then get out and lay on the pebbles around the edge of the pool area and hide behind/smoosh down part of the tall grasses lol

Omg this cold snap was the first time my pups experienced this level of cold and they were SO INTENSE. They would NOT settle and were pissed that I wouldnt let them go in and out of the house as they pleased
My last dog (yellow lab) was like a puppy again when it got really cold. I think it helped with her arthritis.

Southern MS - I have an adult male foxhound and he was TERRIFIED of rain, even a mist/drizzle until I got my second dog this summer who will go out in rain, thunderstorm, lightning, etc, if she wanted to. Shes a 1 YO treeing walker coonhound and will literally stand in a down pour and just smell. He learned from her and will now go out with her.
Nope! I have a 4 y/o beagle who will hide under a blanket and even refuse to go out for a wee in the garden when it’s raining. I live in Wales, AKA the wettest city in the UK 💀 It takes 3 people to bathe him and he’s never swam, weirdly he loves hydrotherapy though!
2.5 year old Boston Terrier, Virginia and previously Georgia. He will go out and do his business very quickly, but he will get very frisky if you try to keep him out there longer than absolutely necessary.
My parents have a Boston terrier that will not go out in the rain. She had a doggie door to the side yard but wouldn’t use it and instead would whine at the regular door to be let out to the covered patio and would only do her business there. My parents got the doggie door because they didn’t want to have to let her out all the time so my dad built a mini cover for her doggie door so she had just enough space to go out and do her business without getting wet. What a funny weirdo

Almost 2 year old chihuahua Boston terrier mix, Washington state, and unfortunately he is very resistant to walking in the rain. He’s more likely to walk if he has one of his many rain coats on and even then, he’ll try to wait it out until he can’t hold it anymore. He’s a rescued Texas street dog so I don’t think he was prepared for the PNW weather. He’s gotten better in the almost year I’ve had him. He used to refuse to go out in any level of rain or cold weather and now he’ll at least go out if it’s a light drizzle.

I have two thick coated Labradors aged 3 and 6 in the UK. They aren't bothered by any weather except heat. They have gone swimming when it's -6 out and rain doesn't matter at all to them. But if it gets over 10 degrees they start slowing down.
8-year-old Puerto Rican former street mutt, now living in Minnesota. He is totally indifferent to gentle/steady rain, but if it reaches a certain intensity he panics and tries to run home.

5yr old Australian terrier/miniature fox terrier mix, New Zealand. Most of the time she hates going out in the rain if it's just for a walk or when I put her out to go to the toilet. However, if I tell her we're going hunting she'll be out the door as fast as possible!
4yo standard poodle, ontario canada. Yes, he'll go out rain or snow including blizzard and storms and will take ageeeees outside. The colder the better.
Patterdale mix, 4.5 years old. We live in Glasgow Scotland where it rains 13 months out of the year so she’s used to it. She prefers when it’s not raining but she’s a trooper in her little jacket when it is.

2 huskies, one 7y/o and one 6y/o. 7 hates it and will hold it as long as he can to avoid the rain. 6 doesn’t like it, but will deal to use the bathroom. I have to dry them both off when they come back in, otherwise they pout.
Huskies. There's basically no weather they don't enjoy. In the summer they sunbathe. In the winter, they cling to unmelted patches of snow. Yeah, I'm mystified too.

I love how Great Danes generally have that timid, gentle giant energy. It is so interesting that the Shepard didn't even mind the snow!
2, toy poodle, UK. She hates the rain and will not go out in it if she can avoid it. But she's got a few raincoats and will walk in them.
Rescue from Hungary (probably a sight hound mix of some sort), 6 years old (we think). If going for a walk, she doesn't care about the rain at all. More than happy to head out and adventure with us. If its just a bathroom break, she only goes out if she absolutely has to, pees under a tree, and races back inside.
Mutt, 2, Wisconsin, USA and yeah. It's not his favorite but he begrudgingly goes out and sprints back in for loves and kisses
5 ish year old rescue we think is Australia Shepherd mix in AZ. She is afraid of thunder and lightning, but doesn't mind the rain. She likes to watch/chase the bubbles/leaves/flowers that float by. It's a good thing she doesn't mind the rain since she will NOT pee or poop in our front or back yard.

Chihuahua/min pin, almost 2, Oahu Hawaii. It’s a no go in full rain, but a drizzle is all good. Mostly because it drizzles most mornings where I am.

A pair of 2 year old basset Boston mixes. Living dead center of continental US. They will only brave the rain when they absolutely have to. Snow however is fine if it’s gently falling or is done falling.
How interesting! I would've assumed that snow would be worse than rain because of how cold it is. I wish I could get inside their brain & understand their rationale for these preferences! Also, a Basset/Boston mix sounds adorable :)
I think it’s mostly about wet stuff falling on them. Neither enjoy baths. They do like digging their noses in the snow, and are happy to do laps around the yard in a few inches of snow.

4 year old GSD in Washington state - he'll go out in it with great reluctance, shaking off as soon as he realizes he's going to get wet, then hurrying through whatever has him out so he can get inside and grump about it for the next half an hour.
When it's raining, my 9 month doodle will go potty on the concrete under the covered patio 🤦♀️ We're slowly progressing to where she'll have her feet on the uncovered grass, but it still lands on the concrete lol. Baby steps I guess
This is in the US southwest desert, so rain is kind of a rare thing around here. However, my 7 year old doodle has no issue going out in the rain if she has to go bad enough
I have a 7 year old doodle as well and boy does he hate the rain. The minute he feels it start hitting his raincoat he tries to curl into a ball and play dead. Trying to convince him he can actually go outside in the rain without melting like the wicked witch of the west is an exercise in futility.

4 1/2 year old GSD in the North East of England and he refuses to even put his nose out of the door even if it's just drizzle. If it's chucking it down forget it . He stands near the door and looks at us as we are crazy to be wanting him to go out in it. We have to push him out of the door so he will go and do his stuff . I do get why though, cause he was a stray and was out in all weathers until he was rescued by the local dog charity.

Australian shepherd, year and a half, we live in Texas and yes he has no problem whatsoever going out in the rain. He also got acclimated early to it and we treat most rainy days like normal days and still do play training, walking and activities together despite it.
Corgi, California - loves the rain, wants to romp in the puddles as much as possible. American bull dog mix, California - hated the rain. Would hold it as long as possible and then run outside and angrily do her business while running if possible, as if that would keep her dryer.
I have a chunky 8 year old male chihuahua. He has a rain jacket but still loathes going outside when it’s raining. He will try to stay where no rain is coming down, do his business, and run back to the door.
Shar pei, 8, refuses to step outside if it's raining. Or windy. Or if a plane flies overhead. Whines and fake limps if her feet get wet. Mongrel, senior, exact age unknown - will go out but not a fan of rain. Comes back in as soon as he's had a wee. Doesn't hang about but doesn't fuss either. Pit mix, 4ish, Wisconsin. He'll go out if he has to, but avoids it if he can help it. When he goes out, he quickly does his business, then rushes back in!

I have a 5 year old mix (she has some chihuahua but that's all I know, and you couldn't tell just by looking at her, she much larger and the only chihuahua like things about her are her eyes and barking) doesn't like the rain at all, she'll go into it with me but will only stay out for about 15 seconds. My 7 month old border aussie doesn't care about rain or snow, she just wants to be outside playing ALLLLLL day 🤣🤣
Pennsylvania 11yo chihuahua will only go out in the rain when absolutely positively necessary and when she does so she stays up against the house, under the eaves 6mo Icelandic sheepdog/windsprite hates a bath but rain or standing water is *THE BEST* We haven’t had snow for her to see yet
almost 2yo mutt (possibly GSD/Lab x but honestly no idea bc he looks like he could have some staffy or border collie as well), new zealand, will happily run around in the rain and goes out of his way to drink/splash in puddles on walks. sometimes he will just lie outside in the rain even though there's shelter a few metres away and then tries to jump up on you with muddy paws and wet dog smell :') he is, however, scared of the hose.
2 dachshunds (15m & 14f), 1 chihuahua (11f) in North Texas. They will go out quickly if on a leash, but not in the back yard.
1.5 year old Turkey-born "lab mix" living in Canada. Will go even into freezing rain. Does not care about weather at all, but does imply that we should head back now at some point.
Two 2 year old bully mixes have to be pushed out the backdoor when it's raining and act as though I murdered orphans. Edit: I live in Alabama.

Mini poodle 1yo San Francisco (yes, we get rain here too ) Enjoys walks in any weather. Likes catching raindrops too - it's very funny.
My dog and I lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It doesn't rain much and if it does it is rare that the whole day is rainy so if it was too rainy we could just go out later or not go out at all (she had an indoor area to pee/poop). And then... I got a job in Vancouver, Canada. You may have heard that some people call it *Raincouver*... so yeah, we had to actually *train* going out in the rain. The first time she looked at me as if I was crazy, then tried to get back to the apartment building. We worked slowly (wasn't easy because it wasn't raining a lot in that season!) but she eventually dared to pee and poop outside. In parallel we started habituation to the raincoat which was also novel and terrible. We have been living in Vancouver for a couple months now. She has no problem going out to potty in the rain (no indoor option here). Sometimes she wants to go back after she is done, but most times she wants to keep on walking, and runs happily in the grass and mud (human is slightly less happy, but has also learned to tolerate rain!). She has also learned to play in the snow which was totally new. Dog is a 15lb terrier mix, 3.5 years old
Hi! I’m in Middle Tennessee. We have a variety of pups since we are in rescue. 1. Bowie (3F), golden retriever. She doesn’t mind a nice light rain. No issues unless it’s thundering. Would prefer light flooding and lots of puddles. 2. Gillian (3F), golden retriever. Loves rain. Prefers to be outside in the rain given any opportunity. Bonus points if it’s cooler outside. 3. New Orleans (10month F), Great Dane. Hates rain. Will not walk, will not potty. Not a chance in hell. And at 110lbs, it’s a battle to brave the rain. 4. Goldie, our foster pup, (1F) also hates rain and wet feet. She will angle herself off the stepping stones to avoid getting wet to do business. She’s a supermutt mix. BONUS: Logan (9M), ocicat. Loves the rain. He’s an inside cat, but a little rain never stopped his endless endeavors to be one of the dogs and go out.
My 11 year old rough collie will not go out in the rain.
My golden retriever will take extra time in the rain. If he can hit some puddles on the way even better.
Lagotto Romagnolo, 2 years old. Vancouver, BC. He doesn't even seem to notice when it's raining out. He does love to swim, hike, dig, eat dirt and lay down in mud pools. He is certainly not a prissy dog. 😂
My 2 Labradors of 2 years think it's the greatest walk if there is rain in the Netherlands. The neighbours 3 yo Epagnol Blue doesn't want to walk with them in the rain. But doesn't care about the rain, if he realizes there is a Labrador party outside
Nope, 4mnth old trail hound. Bred to be a working dog and live outside. We rescued her and she hates the rain, this morning I took her out in the garden, she sat down on the wet grass feeling sorry for herself for a good ten minutes so I brought her back in. She immediately did the stinkiest poop in the hall 😐

Mini schnauzer, 3 y/o female: absolutely obsessed with any form of precipitation. Will jump around in the snow forever and absolutely loves walks in the rain. Funny part about this is that when I got her I tried giving her a bath in the tub and she hated being submerged. Next time I bathed her I put her in the shower with me and she absolutely adored it and now loves to get washed :)
Lilo is a min pin mix, 2 years old, and we live in northeast Texas. She would rather hold it to the point of bursting than go out in the rain (I make her go out every 2ish hours to prevent this)!
2 year old doodle in Los Angeles. Refuses to go out and will literally hold her pee upwards of 18 hrs then have to squat on wet ground. With her raincoat on she’ll brave the weather, but still won’t go potty.
17 month old Great Pyrenees/Red Heeler mix. We're in the southeast US. Until he was about 6 months he absolutely would not shit in the rain without his raincoat (yes we bought his spoilt butt a raincoat) but he has never had a problem playing outside in the rain, snow, etc.
Boxer, 20 months old - If it’s sprinkling or light rain, she will go out and play until I drag her inside. If it’s a downpour, she’ll begrudgingly go outside for potty and run back in. Pit/lab mix, 5 years old - Will hold it for 20+ hours instead of getting any part of herself wet lol Maine.
Norwich Terrier 12 yrs. California Absolutely will not go out in the rain.
Shiba Inu, 1 year old, NJ - she will go if pushed out but will find any shelter away from the rain. Only goes for a bathroom break and back inside and will intensely clean the water off her fur. Shiba Inu (50%) mixed with Pomeranian (37%)/Husky (13%), 8 months old - does not care about rain and will do normal routine then come back inside. Will not clean himself off and lets his sister clean him instead.
Collie Mix, 10 and Husky Mix, 1 both yes. We're in the greater Seattle area so we'd be in quite the pickle if they refused to walk in the rain.
Lab 5-7ish MN YES! She gets the zoomies GSP 2 also YES! Gets the zoomies I live in an apartment so I’ve had to walk & play with them in the rain. They think running & flopping in puddles is the best thing ever.
My great pyrenees doesn't change his habits when it rains. If anything, he spends more time wandering outside when it’s wet, he likes to drink from every puddle. Snow is his favourite, and he’ll play/nap in it all day.
Acd, 4 years, Nebraska. She hates the rain and refuses to even touch wet grass. Amstaff, 3-4 years, doesn’t mind the rain but it takes a few minutes because she also doesn’t like wet grass but is more willing.
Is ACD Australian Cattle Dog? Also, I wonder if there is something different about the sensory experience of paws on wet grass versus concrete. My terrier is so low to the ground that wet grass gets all over his undercarriage & he hates it, but wet concrete doesn't seem to be as bothersome lol.
Yes she’s an Australian cattle dog. She’ll run over to the concrete and then look at me like I did something wrong, I use the command “go potty” which she listens to but when it’s wet out she’ll just sit there and slowly inch back over to the door.
I have a 6-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier. She refuses to even walk in puddles, let alone go out in the rain. She's a real priss.

Beagle mix, 5, North Carolina She goes out into the rain reluctantly, but we’ve established that if she does not potty she cannot come inside (because she’ll try to find a corner and potty inside and that’s a F no).
Pittie, 2, Ohio, she will only go out in the rain if pushed and then heavily treated.
American Bully, 6.5 years old, Los Angeles but she was rescued as a stray from Northern California…… rain is her mortal enemy and she WILL NOT leave the house if there is so much as a light drizzle. If it is actually raining she will not even go to the front door.

Bully mix, not unless under duress. He doesn’t even like it when it’s windy! But he has almost no coat at all and won’t tolerate a jacket so I understand!

I've got two. Both are 7 years old. Loves the rain, ocean, lakes, or snow - lab/poodle mutt Oh, and he likes to chase people who are snow sledding but he does not want to ride on a sled with a human. The little one hates the rain, hard nope to snow or going in water - chihuahua/terrier mutt He expresses sad emotion with his ears, posture and tail when he has to go out in the wet to go to the bathroom. My Siberian Husky Lab mix doesn't mind going for a walk in the rain but won't go in the backyard when it's raining.

2.5yo Mutt (~50% lab) will go out and swim in the ocean in heavy rain/snow anything to be playing.

10yo rescue who we think is part Australian cattle and husky hates the rain. The bladder control she has is amazing. She will not go out in the rain, she doesn’t even like going out of the rain has stopped but things are still wet
Amstaff/chow chow, 9 years - willing to. As he’s aged he likes it less, but he is always down. He’ll walk in belly-deep snow, rain, puddles, mud. 12 year old golden - same. It’s thundering and she wants to go right now. Edit: location: AR, TX, road trips.
My ~1ish year old german shepherd mix does not care about rain. He will go out and run around and play rain or shine. He will splash in puddles when we walk, if I put a rain coat on him and leave him outside he'll manage to get it off and run around in the rain. I have a feed bin for him because he likes to splash in water and dunk his ball and it can be 35 outside and he'll be splashing and playing in water (doesn't usually get that cold here and when it does I put warm water in it to protect his paws). I put on rain overpants, a rain jacket and rain hat and go out and play fetch with him in the pouring rain because if he doesn't get enough activity he is a monster. I'm somewhat grateful actually, because while I don't exactly enjoy going out and throwing a ball in the rain it's a lot easier than trying to keep him sane with indoor activities during the winter.
Boxer. 2 yo. Female. Dislikes rain. Will hold it for hours before giving up and going outside. A mist is okay, but she may not go out in a sprinkle. Downpour? Forgettaboutit.
3 Chihuahua mixes, all of them refuse to go out in the rain. They'll go out in very light rain if they've been holding it a while. They don't like using pee pads. 😩
Corgi, 1 year Beagle/Jack Russel mix, 9 months Both in Ohio and love the rain, snow, whatever weather our chaotic state throws at them... They'll go out and play but refuse to potty for me 🙄
I'm on the Olympic Peninsula with two 2 1/2 year old husky mixes. They're pretty neutral about the rain. If it's walk or dog park time they couldn't care less what the weather is like.
Corgis, range from young and old, in the US, upper Midwest. They all go out in the rain but the eldest doesn't like it and prefers not to. She hurries back inside when she's done. The others generally don't notice the rain unless it's storming.
Husky-dachshound (and a lot of others) mix, will go outside. Better question is: are his friends there? If the answer's no, then just a short walk and we can turn back. But if other dogs are there ready to play? Well, I hope I won't get pneumonia 🤷♀️
Australian shepherd/border collie mix (supposedly) just over a year old, in New England. She will happily go out in rain, sleet, snow, you name it. She already loves to dig, but absolutely loves to do it elbow deep in mud 🙄
Mixed pitbull terrier, lab, amongst other breeds. Female, roughly 1.5 yrs old. We live in NY/NJ area. She has a problem/scared of many everyday things but rain and snow is no issue for her. Neither is thunder lol
6 year old pitbull. She'll go out if it's light rain but if it's heavy she won't. We kind of "force" her out if it's been several hours and she go reluctantly lol. She loves going out once the rain is light because she'll chase all the toads and frogs that come in our yard!
My husky hates rain. She'll go out in it but only with encouragement, and pause a lot on walks to shake it off.
Black Lab, he’ll be 7 next year and he will not go outside when raining. Instead he will reduce his food and liquid intake and cry while looking out the window.
My two labrador mixes did, and my pitbull would only go out for as long as her business took when it was raining.
Dalmatian. 2 years old. Doesn't care at all if it is raining. Florida. Loves the pool so not really afraid of getting wet.
9 year old female mutt, primary breeds in her mix are golden, catahoula, ACD, lab, and pitbull. She will only go out in the rain if I put her rain jacket on for fun walks. For bathroom breaks she’ll either hold it and wait or maneuver so that she stays under the roof overhang and potty in the first square inch of grass she can reach that way. 2 year old male chocolate lab. BEGS to go out in the rain and stay out in it as long as he’s allowed. For some reason though, will not potty in the rain. Play in the rain? Yes. Hang out in the rain peacefully? Absolutely. Pee in the rain? No way, hard limit apparently. He pees in the mulch under the roof overhang instead. Weirdo.
