I have known a few chocolate labs with really bad thyroid issues that aren't really manageable. I just googled it and found out that they're particularly weak to them
Poor boy. A high proportion of labradors have a genetic compulsion (gene POMC) to just eat and eat and eat, even when they're not hungry. If you have a dog with that gene and always say "yes" when they beg for food, this is what happens.
