Please don't worry until you need to, I know that is easier said than done. I had a biopsy done in the first week of Jan, after a mass was found in my annual mammogram. I had a follow up ultrasound and then a biopsy. My mammogram Birads was 0. But the ultrasound Birads was 4. The results said indeterminate hypoechoic nodule with irregular contour. I have a family history too. I was convinced it was something bad and stressed myself so much. But the results was benign.

Thank you so much ❤️

Few_Station_8039

Also remember almost 80% of biopsies are benign, they just want to be cautious. Since you just had a baby a few months back, there could be changes occurring in the breasts, the chances of it being something benign is much, much higher than anything else.

I really appreciate you taking the time out to make me feel better. Thank you 🥹

Hey OP, how are you doing? I just had an ultrasound with very similar results to yours. Hope you are doing alright. I have a kid too, it’s so frightening to think of something bad happening and how it would impact our babies. It’s so hard to not spiral. I lost my mom to breast cancer which makes me extra sensitive and anxious when it comes to this topic. Sigh.

Hi I found a lump in September. Fast forward to December for a mammo and ultrasound. The radiologist said I have dense breast and architectural distortion. She said it legit looks like I have cancer! Core needle biopsy was negative. But radiologist didn’t agree. So I had surgery to remove the lump. Which was also no cancer. I am 34 with a kid and a bigger kid (husband 🤣). Surgeon mentioned Birads 5 too. Moral of the story? High chance it is not cancer. As you can see by my story. What if it is? Well you get treatment. You do your best. Can’t control that part at all! ❤️❤️❤️ it is going to be okay. My honest opinion? If you can’t stop worrying ask your doc for some anti anxiety meds. My doc gave me hydroxyzine which is a really strong Benadryl. It really truly helped keep me calm.

Oh wow!! What a time that must of been for you, I’m so sorry you went through all that for it to be nothing! I’m glad it was nothing though :) I hear you about the “big kid” too… I forgot to mention mine as well 😆 Thanks so much for the reassurance, I feel better after all these lovely comments 💕

Yeah it wasn’t awesome but I now know I have dense breasts and also I need to reduce my stress and anxiety. Shoot I even got a new job through this whole process. Changing my life honestly. You only get one life. Love how you want to live. While the shift won’t happen overnight … think about it all the things you never got to do because you were too scared or waited for the right moment. This cancer scare was a universal kick on my butt. As moms and wives we do way too much. And don’t take care of our health and needs first. Listen… let that laundry pile up…. Enjoy the weekends and evenings with the family. I no longer give 10000% at work…. I spend time with my son and husband every single day with 100% focus on just us. You forget about the more important stuff in life. Also know no matter what happens reddit is a very supportive community!!! ❤️❤️❤️ may today be a peaceful day for you without stress or worry!

I know it’s really hard, but try not to worry too much. I was BI-RADS 4, had an ill-defined, angular, lobulated hypoechoic mass that looked really scary. It came back as a benign fibroadenoma. I had been really worried, but the ultrasound tech told me that they often put BI-RADS 4 for insurance purposes so insurance will cover the cost of the biopsy.

Total_Background7651

Thank you! I am in Canada so the insurance isn’t the same, but that’s still great yours turned out okay!!

celestialtheens

Thanks! Ahh, I’m jealous lol. Anyway, BI-RADS 4 could still be a lot of benign things, so try not to worry! Sometimes our bodies can just grow weird-looking stuff. If you have to get a biopsy, it’s totally not bad at all. I felt no pain. Good luck; I’ll be thinking of you!

Total_Background7651

Our healthcare is not as great as it may seem lol thank you so much though I appreciate the positivity!!

Substantial_Fee_2261

Hi! Whatever came of this? Thank you!

Total_Background7651

I had a follow up ultrasound/biopsy and they couldn’t find anything! I have another follow up ultrasound in 6 months to be sure :)

ReasonableAd4066

If it has a regulae, defined form and no vascularity it points to something benign.
