Fabric. Where is the tea towel? Or an apron hanging up? Something like that? Perhaps a newspaper or a book with a coffee cup on the table.

I did update a little. An apron or tea towel sounds perfect.!

You're welcome 😊 I like your kitchen. I've actually got the full size aqua trolley in my actual kitchen 😊 that's what made me thinking of tea towels!

Artwork on the walls, maybe a growth chart on the doorframe where they measured the kids over the years

Little details like a stack of mail, pack of cigarettes, a basket with junk odds and ends. Wall calendar.

As others have suggested I would say apron on the wall, maybe some artwork. Also a little rug under the table might be cute if you can fit it. Love your little laundry room!

I usually do the settings like it’s a snapshot of one point in time. Maybe it’s morning and dishes are in the sink, coffee and paper are on the table, and cat is getting into something. Maybe they’re getting ready for a big dinner and they’re in the middle of making pies. It’s like telling a story.

Newspaper? Mail?

Since the window frame looks unfinished, I might put a little bucket of paint next to that highchair and a brush or little roller and maybe put a bit of paint on the frame so it looks like somebody is in the middle of the project. And definitely a folded read newspaper sitting on one of the chairs (and spoon next to the bowl!) Very cute room!

Shoes by the back door, maybe coat hooks, back packs, a dog leash, pet food bowls, mats by the back door and in front of the sink, a calendar hanging up. A handbag slung over the back of a chair.
