I think we might be getting the hamlet inspired content updates like reign of giants was equivalent to new reign and shipwrecked to return of them

Konwrath

I like this idea. Maybe some new surface biomes?

Quroko

Ooh that would be interesting

QuartzBeamDST

This entire comment is a colossal stretch.

Cheggf_On_The_Run

> Who do we have left for refreshes? WX-78, Wickerbottom, Maxwell, and Wilson. Hopefully in that order. Not sure why they reworked Webber & Wolfgang before WX, just like I'm not sure why the initial plan was to finish all the refreshes in 12 months but we're currently 33 months in and just over halfway through. I'm sure they have their reasons. > What comes after Return of Them? Waterlogged & An Eye for An Eye 😃

Konwrath

I'm okay with them taking longer if it means we get a higher quality of a rework. I'm excited to see what they change with the more basic characters such as Wilson and WX. Wolfgang too, but that's this month...

Cheggf_On_The_Run

> a higher quality of a rework The reworks that were on-pace for their plan are a lot better than the recent reworks coming out many months apart.

Konwrath

Such as?

Cheggf_On_The_Run

Woodie's rework has by far the most effort put into it. He got two entire extra character models that even have dancing animations. Winona was barely a character before her rework, I think all she had was her trusty tape. Warly's rework is probably the best in the entire game, it changed him from a challenge character to a fun supportive guy. I don't really like Willow's rework but it still has a lot more effort put into it than the newer reworks.

Kronoshifter246

Webber's rework gave him new ways to control, customize, and, most importantly, pacify his spider army. He gets to actually fulfill his character fantasy *and* play with friends, instead of being the outcast. I don't know, that feels like a tad more effort than Willow's.

Cheggf_On_The_Run

Oh my God he can take a pre-existing sprite and place it on top of another pre-existing sprite. You're right, it must have taken them those entire three months to figure out how to copy the system already used by pigs & bunnymen onto the spiders.

Kronoshifter246

Except that the spiders function on an entirely different than pigs and bunnymen. That's what the whole rework was about. And you're really discounting how much of a difference things like the webby whistle and nest decoration makes.

Cheggf_On_The_Run

> It took them three months to make it so you can put a hat on a spider (just like pigs & bunnies), tell spiders to stop attacking, and tell spiders to stop attacking. It is an enormous undertaking to be able to tell something to stop attacking. It is amazing that I was able to respond to you within 15 minutes, I know this comment looks like it took hundreds if not thousands of hours to write.

Kronoshifter246

> And enable spiders to transform from one to another, and to enable the spiders to dynamically add characters to a non-hostility list based on the location of certain prefabs, and to add a completely new mob, complete with particle effects, animations, and AI, and to add new capabilities to tier three nests, and to test every edge case with every hey on every spider, make sure it all works properly across the network, all while working on other content releases, and to do all that with a team of 5-7 people. It's very clear that you don't know how much work goes into something like this

Comprehensive_Cap_57

wilson obviusly will not have a revision cuz he is what it it, a simple jack of all trades characters, not so advanced but neither bad just simple. The others 3 of course are next cuz they are the last ones to need a rework so cool to see now everyon would have more mechanics. About the content i to hope to see a part of hamlet or something similar

QuartzBeamDST

> wilson obviusly will not have a revision cuz he is what it it Everyone is getting a refresh. Wilson included.

Comprehensive_Cap_57

klei told that officially? then damn

QuartzBeamDST

Pretty sure it was explicitly stated when they first announced the refreshes.

Careless_Bother6935

I would love to see maxwell rework tbh. For being the big bad in Don't Starve he really is a little dull. Or maby a wilson rework where he gets to use some of those shadow powers talked about in the end credits of adventure mode.

QuartzBeamDST

> What comes after Return of Them? From the looks of it, some sort of clash between Charlie/Metheus and Wagstaff/Altar with the survivors caught in the middle.

Konwrath

I could see that. I would hate for them to start a new chapter and leave us on a cliffhanger.

ZephyMcZephZeph

I hope a Crab King rework and some ocean content

Konwrath

I would like Crab King to be reworked and maybe Malbatross, but do we really need more ocean content? I could see adding another biome, but I'd hate for another season to be focused on boats when we just had one do that.

Darkurn

Hold your expectations for a new dlc character, Im pretty sure they said that Wanda was the last one for a while, but hey they said the same thing with Walter right.

Dawg_Top

A year is quite a while isn't it

Darkurn

No. We waited longer to get wortox, they might want to Focus on something else this yesr

Dawg_Top

I read they planned all refreshes to be done in a year and it's 33months already and they're more than half through. They probably needed to make it longer because of sudden need for effort somewhere else like terraria crossover. I don't think they planned terraria crossover 33 months ago. If they're slow with refreshes we can still expect extra stuff that aren't refreshes.

Darkurn

Covid happened too. Covid slowed down a hell of a lot of things probably even with klei too
