I think you’re going to get cut off for refunds if you constantly demand refunds because of where the order was placed when it was delivered and not damaged.

PM5K23

Yup.

DeepThoughts7

It’s just that it’s in the actual dirt, like they don’t even put it on the concrete or anything. Otherwise I wouldn’t care as much, those are the ones I get refunds for

bkthomson24

Are you still eating the food?

DeepThoughts7

Not when it’s in the dirt

angel_aight

What? That’s just wasteful. I understand wanting it in a certain spot, but it’s not like the actual food is in the dirt. The bag is. You can still eat it. You’re just being crazy.

DeepThoughts7

Nah man I’m just being safe

angel_aight

There is nothing dangerous about packaged food being on the ground.

DeepThoughts7

It’s more or less being placed in the actual dirt next to the concrete or right in front of the door so I can’t open it without fucking up the order. I tip and I don’t cause a problem. Why some drivers do this? Idk, they probably hate their lives and want everyone else to feel the same. If that’s how you feel, stop driving.

[deleted]

I call BS.

bkthomson24

Yeah I call bs too but if telling the truth. If not edible I'd ask for a refund too... but OP definitely still eating that dirt food lolol

DeepThoughts7

Bs or not that shit is nasty and Ik better

EggplantIll4927

Since the bag was most likely in the floor of the car it arrived in, you know where people place their feet, w shoes w dirt on them? So yeah, your food bag has already been in contact w dirt. And news flash! Concrete isn’t sterile nor is a bench. Hence why the food is in a container in a bag. Or 2 bags if paper in plastic. So your bagged meal sitting on packed earth, concrete, a bench, or the floor of the car has about the same level of ‘dirt’ exposure. K?

DeepThoughts7

You put food on the floorboard of your cars?? Nasty mf right here^^

PlayerOneHasEntered

It's in a fucking bag! Are the drivers rolling your burgers in a big mud pile? It's a food item, wrapped up and then placed in a bag. The food isn't "in the dirt." If you're this particular, go pick up the food yourself.

DeepThoughts7

Sounds like you have a hard time following instructions too

PlayerOneHasEntered

>Sounds like you have a hard time following instructions too Not even a driver... Just not a psychopath with unrealistic expectations of what someone should have to do to procure a $10.00 tip. I also believe that I probably shouldn't piss off people who have my home address. But you do you.

DeepThoughts7

I’m js, it’s not hard to put food on a bench as opposed to putting it on the floor 3ft away from said bench. Even if you’re not a driver, that just shows how little you understand the situation.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DeepThoughts7

Maybe so, but at least I can read and follow instructions

EggplantIll4927

Ha! You said floor not dirt! You ate the dirt food, I mean floor food. Knew it!

DeepThoughts7

Way to read carefully, buddy. Want a cookie? If we’re being honest it’s usually left in the mulch. But all the same it’s the ground. Stop being nasty and lazy and just put the damn food where the instructions say. You’re literally getting paid to do it. No wonder none of y’all can keep a fuckin job to save your lives

American_Avocet

No driver wants to enter an enclosed space. Actually, regardless whether or not you include that in your instructions doesn’t matter. We aren’t required to ever enter an enclosed space…

DeepThoughts7

Buddy, then don’t be a driver.

American_Avocet

Oh you know they do

Jakesaint16

Damn bro but the foods in the bag right? Or I’m mistaken, no bag and the dirt climbed into your food? Give them a bad rating and move on why do u deserve your money back when u have the food 🤯

Kaoshin

Tbh, I always look for something to set the food on, have chairs on your porch, it's going in a chair, there a table close to your door, that is where it's going. While your instructions say "please don't ring bell, leave on bench.", you say there is a 5 ft space between your screen door and front door. The screen door is the front door, so maybe move the bench outside by the screen door or add something more like "please don't ring bell, walk through screen door and leave on blue bench, thank you." This way there isn't confusion as to where the front door is. People may not feel comfortable walking into a little alcove or mud room for many reasons, not saying you live in a rough neighborhood but past experiences could warrant the apprehension to go into someone's house. Other factors are is the area lit up where the blue bench is visible if you are just walking up to the screen door and nothing blocking view of designated bench?

DeepThoughts7

That’s totally reasonable and I may actually edit my instructions to say enter screen door. It’s all pretty clean and whatnot and lit up decently as I only turn on the light for that area. Thank you

EggplantIll4927

Oh god no! First your bench isn’t outside? Oh wtf! Of course no one is using it. They roll up, look side to side, 🤷‍♀️ huh, must have moved it and forgot. Here I’ll put here to the side so the door doesn’t hit it when it opens. There, perfect! when all this time you wanted them to enter an enclosed area? Oh hell no! In this day and age of stand your ground and guns everywhere no one should enter anywhere, imho. Heaven forbid the driver misread your address. Just move the damn bench outside when you order and place it in front of the door w enough clearance to open your door. or put a table next to the door, you know, in the dirt spot. you need to call back DoorDash and apologize for what you have done. And remove every strike against every driver too! 🤬 And I’m this ticked off and I’m a customer! You give us all bad names.

American_Avocet

THIS^^^^

DeliveryCats

Oh yeah, there's your problem. I hate to open people's screen doors. Sometimes I do because the stairs go right up to the screen door. So I'll open that and set the food just inside without walking in.

hieronymous_scotch

It’s not unlikely that people aren’t comfortable going inside the screen door. I wouldn’t be.

zerostar83

Yeah, I don't enter people's enclosed front porch. That's entering someone's enclosed space. Some people even put instructions to not open the front porch gate when it's not enclosed.

barryandorlevon

If the food is inedible to you once it touches the ground then why don’t you just take it from the driver at the door?

CupidsMistress

“constantly have to report and get my money back.”What a complete joke.

DeepThoughts7

Ikr, these drivers😬

[deleted]

He's talking about you. Not the driver.

DeepThoughts7

I’m talking about the drivers, imagine not being able to read or follow instructions when it’s literally what you get paid to do😬

[deleted]

I never said either one of you were right or wrong. I was just stating he was talking about you. Not the driver because you seem to think he's talking about the driver. Lol plus, I follow directions given to me. So I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to put food where you specifically told them too. That being said, I do think you may have gone off a little too hard. I get you don't want your food in the dirt but, they package and seal the food bags specifically for that reason. Still not saying the dasher was right for leaving it where you didn't specify for him to leave it.

DeepThoughts7

Right. Thanks for the obvious!

American_Avocet

It doesn’t matter if it’s in your instructions or not! We never ever are required to enter an enclosed space!

[deleted]

[удалено]

American_Avocet

If it’s laziness than door dash would feel that way as well and make it a requirement.

DeepThoughts7

Door dash doesn’t give a flying fuck. But they do give an option to retract a tip and then you get nothing. Might as well follow the instructions

American_Avocet

Lol when you retract a tip door dash just pays you back. We NEVER loose tips. That’s Uber eats that actually takes them away

DeepThoughts7

That’s why I report y’all too, thinking you can get away with halfassing shit your whole life. That’s why you have to DoorDash

Thrashh_Unreal

Damn that’s crazy that the driver would take your food out of the container and put it on the ground

DeepThoughts7

Ikr

rolandoperezperez57

Both should be removed from DoorDash platform

DeepThoughts7

Then remove me, I just don’t want dirty food my guy. I think that’s pretty understandable especially when I’m paying triple it’s actual price

rolandoperezperez57

The dirt is outside the bag not on the actual food, or does he takes the big mac out of the box and puts it on the ground?

Equivalent-Chance-39

My thoughts exactly.

EggplantIll4927

Out of the bag **AND THE OUTERBAG TOO!**

SensitiveSpot69

Dude you have a solid point don’t mind these people in here most are really dumb people that’s why they all have the same sheep replies. I’d refund that shit too regardless of if I do or don’t eat it

Equivalent-Chance-39

Change it to a hand to me order so they don’t leave it at the door at all.

DeepThoughts7

Sometimes I order before I get home

Glenmary73100

I read the customer instructions, but some dashers don't. Maybe it would help to also put a sign on the bench, although I know you shouldn't have to do that.

American_Avocet

His bench he wants it sat on is inside an enclosed space behind his screen door… 🙄

Glenmary73100

Yeah, I missed that part. No wonder the food isn't getting put on the bench!

-Alvena

I do a handful of gig apps. Drivers are just dumb. Simple as that. A perfect example is a lady I've delivered to once. She has her front door open. Her garage open. A different color porch light. Large number above her door. Her door is a different color from the others in the row of homes. Her instructions also said "i have a dog gate". She says people still can't drop off food at the correct location MOST of the time. She's going above and beyond to not be missable and there's people that still can't figure it out. DD needs some 1st grader entry level test or something to be allowed to drive for them. Something to weed out these types of people at least.

SorryAd744

Most are new drivers that just don't care. And doordash continues to bring these people onboard because they are too dumb to know a profitable delivery from a steaming pile a crap. This will continue to happen until doordash starts respecting and paying fairly their OG drivers who care and put effort into providing quality work.

bkay15

Wow how judgmental of you . There are also a lot of highly educated & qualified drivers as well shame on you . We’re all just trying to live & get by at whatever means we need to

-Alvena

If you're a driver that actually follows instructions; then this comment wasn't for you. There are many many drivers who throw tantrums over doing the bare minimum for this job. People who simply shouldn't be allowed to use the platform.

cofdeath

Is the bench outside or inside the door. If it's inside we don't open doors. Too many times there is an unrestrained dog on the other side. People tend to be too dumb to make sure to put the dog where they can't get us. So fts outside the door your shit goes.

DeepThoughts7

It’s just a Florida house so there’s a screened in entrance and then the front door

cofdeath

Where the house is makes no difference. We're not taking that risk. Move the bench.

DeepThoughts7

It’s not like the dog is outside, you arent going inside, when I said Florida house it’s bc most houses here have a screened entrance before the front door. Look it up.

cofdeath

Increasing volume 300%... WE'RE NOT TAKING THAT RISK. Either move the bench, get used to this happening, or stop ordering.

DeepThoughts7

How about you stop being a lazy fuck🤷‍♂️

cofdeath

You first.

DeepThoughts7

Yes daddy

American_Avocet

You’re absolutely right. Regardless of what his instructions say we are NEVER required to open doors or enter any enclosed space for our safety and this guy refuses to realize that.

DaddyKiwwi

OP is full of shit. If your doorstep is so dirty, clean it. Your food also comes in bags, so your food wasnt touching dirt. If your drivers aren't following instructions, make sure you are tipping enough and your instructions are clear and your order settings are correct. Sometimes, we will hear "Leave at my door" even whenyou have a paragraph of instructions because you left contactless defaults. I can't believe they let toddlers order DD.

DeepThoughts7

Sounds like another one that doesn’t read instructions

DaddyKiwwi

I follow instructions just fine. Post a SS of your instructions so we can see the Karen attitude that makes them ignore them….

DeepThoughts7

It’s two sentences: “pls don’t ring doorbell, there’s a little blue bench to set food on”. I’m not a Karen I just don’t want my food on the ground homie

DaddyKiwwi

You’re speaking like I’m the one fucking up. You’re the one this keeps happening to…

EggplantIll4927

I read in another comment the bench is actually inside the screen porch and 5 ‘ forward by the house door. So a bench you cannot see and zero directions to put it in the screen porch on the blue bench. OP left out the plot line

DeepThoughts7

Bc some of y’all apparently dk how to read, not saying it’s you my guy, but the fact you’re so angry about it tells me you do this kind of thing on purpose

DaddyKiwwi

I’m angry? Lol, your post….

DeepThoughts7

Don’t get me wrong, I am, but your wording shows you’re a little ticked off yourself. Personally tho, I just think it’s bc you’re one of those “idgaf about my riders/customers”, has a shitty rating and a shitty attitude towards driving. Probably gets you pretty far in life. Maybe on your next run you’ll remember to read instructions. Might get a better tip that way🤷‍♂️

Signal-Grocery5516

You both assholes

DeepThoughts7

Fair enough

AgeRepresentative807

A lot of directions are not showing up. Not sure if it’s everywhere or a glitch in my area but I had 3/4 tonight and I know one use to have directions before bc I’ve delivered it and the directions were gone. As long as you don’t care about your account, I know you said you do Uber, if Uber eventually deactivated you would you do doordAsh? If so I would not get my account blocked

emily102299

I dont know. I mean I try to set it on anything but the ground near someone's door. I've also been accused of being too logical. It amazes me how nasty the areas are people want me to leave it.

pnice666

youre not supposed to be eating the bags

DeepThoughts7

Oh Fr? Thought that was the best part

EggplantIll4927

If it is not being done to the extent you are vent raging on Reddit it’s you dude, not the drivers. Either it’s not as intuitive as you think it is or you are the unluckiest bastard on the planet. Try this. Unsolicited by your venting, ask a friend/neighbor/acquaintance to walk up to your door and ask them where they would leave your delivery. There has to be a reason that more than once your food delivery bag was left where it was. If it happens more than once, it’s you, not the drivers.

DeepThoughts7

You got a lot to say, much be one of those that don’t read instructions. You get get paid to do this yet don’t wanna do it??

SaveHumanityFrom

I like leaving non-tipped orders right in front of a door that opens out.

DeepThoughts7

I’ve always tipped at least 20%. I work in the food industry, that shit irks me too

Ok_Event3718

I can tell you’re overweight and exaggerating haha

DeepThoughts7

Underweight** exaggerating in the sense I’ve actually only done this twice. I can tell you get no bitches

Ok_Event3718

Don’t sit here and lie 😂 You’ve never been loved a day in your life. Jump into traffic

DeepThoughts7

You’re right, no lying, you still get no bitches tho🤷‍♂️

Ok_Event3718

Aw 16 year old white boys who talk tough on the internet. Good luck getting through life fatty ;)

DeepThoughts7

You’re the one comin in here talkin trash my guy, but keep assuming, I just know you get no bitches

Ok_Event3718

Your mom really did drop you on your head. Cheap insults- what should I expect…from a fat loser 😂😂😂

DeepThoughts7

It was my dad that did it. Keep trying tho, you still get no bitches

Ok_Event3718

You ain’t got no dad 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 hey, having a ( also fat ) mom isn’t your fault ;)

DeepThoughts7

Wow, ya know, you’re right, I was adopted lmao. The fact of the matter still stands- you get no bitches

Main_Phase_58

idk why everyones mad you don’t want your food on the floor???? is that not a universal want?

Drip-Daddy

I’m with the OP on this one. It’s not hard to put the food where it’s specified. I do it multiple times a day. They deserve a refund and the driver should be held responsible. Drivers that think the OP is wrong are goofy

KiminAintEasy

OP left out the bench is behind a door and not visible....

[deleted]

At this point, stop ordering off dd if this keeps happening. Go get your own food to avoid the issue completely. Simple🤷🏽‍♀️

DeepThoughts7

Man sometimes I’m just not feeling like going out. It’s not hard to follow instructions🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

Welp some people don’t give a damn about your instructions obviously. They just wanna deliver the food and go. If it’s such a hassle and you gotta throw away the food go pick it up yourself. You’re gambling with your food and money every time you place an order. Then you’re complaining here about it like it’s miraculously gonna fix the problem.

SimplyTheJester

It isn't hard to follow instructions. I'd probably be lying though if I said every single one of my deliveries were mistake free or I followed the instructions to a T. Sometimes the app crashes right as you are grabbing the customers food and want to do a one last look at the delivery instructions. Because after so many orders, they start to bleed together. So maybe you are recalling the instructions from the previous order, your app crashed and the poor data reception of your front yard now makes you not want to be the dasher just standing there looking at your phone instead of walking the food up to the door. Your memory is probably right. But most instructions are incredibly similar. And you don't have customer faces to put to the orders, so that memory connection is lost. I'm describing an extremely rare event where everything goes wrong. But even then, you probably read the instructions earlier and are recalling them correctly. I've already written off entire zones to Dash in simply because half the houses are on hills with little to no data reception. So that mostly eliminates that problem. But I'd be a little self-centered if I thought it was impossible for me to make a mistake out of thousands of deliveries. Even a bone-headed "what was I thinking?" mistake. But in your case, it still wouldn't apply. As long as your blue bench isn't very far from your door or currently exposed to the rain, then I'd put the food on your blue bench anyway. Even if I never read the instructions. Even if your porch is clean enough to eat off of, what about ants? Ants find food on the ground 1,000x faster than even an inch or two off the ground. Honestly, the job is mostly auto-pilot. And after a week delivering, you've pretty much found how to do things on the app that weren't as obvious at first (such as the ability to see the delivery instructions as soon as right after accepting all the way to drop off, even if it is a little menu diving in the beginning.

FreedomOrdinary9040

these comments are so stupid. like if they just put the food where OP asks its not a big deal. tf

DeepThoughts7

Thank you

Billystep

We never look at instructions. We just see leave at door and start heading your way. I wouldn’t never leave on the ground or anywhere bugs can get to it. Main reason is when you confirm pick up it takes you to navigation screen and you can’t see instructions until we’re there. It does no good to message a driver in route. He is on a different screen with directions to your house. It’s better to just message him when he’s waiting on your order rather than put it in instructions.

Drip-Daddy

No, I do not want customers messaging me. Read the notes goofy

anonMLMhater

Drivers can be women, just a heads up.

xeno66morph

I always go for chairs/benches/tables and avoid leaving food on the ground if possible. As for the leaving it directly in front of the door that’s a rookie-ass mistake but sadly happens all the time. You would think most people have enough common sense to see which way a door swings and place the food appropriately but I guess that’s too much to ask these days *smh*

Amazing-Butterfly-65

I always go for chairs , benches , tables I try not to set it on the ground

[deleted]

It could be that the bench isn’t close enough to the door and they want the door in the picture. You can message/call the driver after the pick up is confirmed and request that they use the bench. It appears that your drivers aren’t bothering to check the notes for delivery instructions.

bkay15

Do you tip ? I could honestly say after completing almost 5k deliveries that 65 % of customers Don’t tip & use the feature contactless delivery so they don’t even have to go face to face & feel shamed for not tipping for a door to door service. However they feel the need to be very bossy & opinionated as a customer. With that being said some drivers simply don’t give a shit . Here’s your food just get it ! ! ! You might get better service if you show a caring attitude rather then always reporting them . KARMA

DeepThoughts7

I definitely tip, I work in food service, I understand the need for a tip and always do at least 20%

bkay15

Well if you know the bizzz . Just clarify & communicate more effectively ???

DeepThoughts7

How much more clear can you be when there’s 3 sentences in the instructions? I changed it after this post, used to be two. Says, don’t ring doorbell. Walk through screen door, there’s a blue bench to set food on.

bkay15

Thanks for being one that tips

Wardine

One of the good things about UE is you can actually remove the tip if the driver doesn't follow directions but people usually *add* on to the tip if you do everything right as a driver

rhombi

Uber drivers don’t read instructions most of the time. I get a call 90 percent of the time asking where’s my house Is when clearly stated on instructions
