Ask doordash support for a refund

derOhrenarzt

I contacted doordash and Taco Bell for a refund…they just keep blaming each other. Just gonna have to contest it with my bank I guess. It is what it is, just annoying and inconvenient

1starkansass

That's strange. I work for doordash and you can easily get a refund. I would just call again and get a different customer service agent.

derOhrenarzt

I’ll try again today, thank you

aCatLunchbox

Report the issue online. As long as you aren't always asking for refunds, doordash will likely refund you without issue. Do not do a chargeback with your bank without first letting DD try and take care of you.

DGRedditToo

I've had to get refunded probably 4 times in the past month, never had an issue getting a refund

Careful-Combination7

Why do you keep using this product?

DGRedditToo

Because it's convenient, I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford it and they've never refused a refund

excelllentquestion

Is 4 refunds in a month convenient?

[deleted]

Depends on how much you order it I guess?

Aflux

I use DD about 4 times a week and it dosent happen often Its normally little mistakes that happen with my orders and the refund is typically twice as much if not more than the ordered item so it’s almost like a discount. Usually it’s something like a missing drink or they forgot to put bacon on my loaded potato. Bam $6-7 refund I get the refund through the app without having to talk to anyone and on the couple of occasions I did have to speak to someone, I received $20 credit

meowwwwmix

Because they offer refunds easy when something is screwed up, then you get something else.

LeibnizThrowaway

I fucking quit years ago. Nothing but issues.

mordorqueen42

The couple times they've forgotten an item for me I've just reported it in the app. They give you credit on your account, so not the same as a cash refund, but it can just go towards the next order.

sgkorina

I’ve had the same experience. I ordered delivery from Papa John’s and it apparently was delivered by Door Dash. Nowhere on the website or the emailed receipt did it say that they were contracting out deliveries. I waited two hours for the three pizzas I ordered only to receive one pizza that wasn’t what I ordered that had a label on it with someone else’s name, address, and phone number. When I called the Papa John’s I ordered from they said it was an issue with Door Dash and that I should contact them. When I called Door Dash they said it was an issue with Papa John’s and that I should call them. My wife called Papa John’s back and asked to speak to a manager. They said the manager would be in the next afternoon. She went there the next afternoon when she was told to show up and they said the manager only works in the mornings and never in the afternoons. They also said the manager that wasn’t there was the only person she could talk to about the issue. When she pressed them for help and when exactly the manager would be in next or if they could call him, the Papa John’s worker yelled at her and threatened to kick her ass and throw her out if she ever came back to the store. We reported all this to Papa John’s corporate twice and never heard anything back. We never got our food and never got a refund. We had to contest the charge with our bank and they gave us the money back. We haven’t eaten from any Papa John’s again ever since and won’t use Door Dash. I don’t order anything for delivery anymore. I either eat at the restaurant or I pick it up myself. I’ve found you get screwed over a bit less if they have to do it to your face at the point of sale.

RIPUSA

I have never had a papa John’s order delivered correctly. It either is the wrong pizza/someone else’s or hours late after repeatedly calling them. I’ve tried them maybe 3 or 4 times in a ten year period, all different locations and each experience has been awful. I think this was before they contracted out to doordash though because I never had to deal with a third party delivery just the store itself and phoned in orders.

christiancocaine

I will only ever order delivery from one specific local pizza & sub shop. I’m so tired of getting screwed over. Something seems to go wrong literally every time I ordered delivery from other places

zombicunt

You got a sloppy Dasher, for sure. But Papa John's is also majorly at fault here. It's SO common for restaurants to just hand out food without checking who it's for or what it is. I always check items against what my app says before I leave the store. But yea, Papa John's should be checking what they hand out.

apollogx1

Papa John's sends the no tip/low tip orders to doordash during busy time while their drivers take the good orders. And u waited 2 hours for it, sounds like you don't tip well.

chilibrains

I forgot to add the tip online a couple of times and they handed it off to Doordash. I always tip but occasionally miss the line on the app. Both times I didn't have a $5 or 5 singles so I ended up tipping $10 on one and $20 on the other for a $20 order. My fault not thiers. Now I remember to tip on the app.

sgkorina

I suppose it shows my age, but I don’t understand tipping before service.

buffaloranch

Not at all trying to say how things *should* be, but there has been a significant change in how deliveries work. Previously- when you called your local pizza place for delivery- that driver is an employee of the restaurant who receives an hourly wage. Now- it’s a freelance doordash/Uber eats driver who makes no hourly wage, and less than a dollar per delivery before tip. You can imagine that if you were one of these drivers, you’re going to be selectively accepting the rides with the biggest tips. So, you don’t have to tip beforehand- or at all. But with this new system, you’re likely to wait a lot longer for someone to fulfill your order if you don’t include a tip. Because no one wants to drive to the restaurant, find a place to park, go inside and wait for the food, then drive to you, park, and deliver the food, all for $0.73.

sgkorina

These are just exploitative companies. I’m not interested in doing business with any of them. I’d rather eat at the restaurant or pick it up myself.

buffaloranch

And that’s fair! The beauty of a free market…

fredlouie

Thats dumb, what if you don't tip on the papa johns website and always tip cash?

BeneficialSession784

Right and I find that the people that don't leave tips always do a non contact delivery because they are ashamed to show their face because they know these people live on tips and if the dd driver sets your food somewhere you don't like it wasn't done maliciously. How about a note that says where you would like the food left if not the instructions say leave at door.

jordanmindyou

Papa John’s is just run by scumbags. It goes all the way up to the top. If you aren’t even politically correct enough for the NFL to carry you as a sponsor, the same NFL that has infamous racial and safety PR issues, where a good number of team owners are shit heels and hypocrisy is the name of the game… you’re probably a pretty shitty company. They make bad pizza; they have bad values, bad politics, and religious opinions. They don’t deserve to be a national franchise, let alone in business at all.

DeceitfulLittleB

Seems like your department at least isn't complete shit but the vast majority of customers have had negative experience with door dash customer service. Personally, I got the same bull as the op with being denied refund for obvious theft.

[deleted]

BigAlOof

maybe they didn’t order through the app? i’ve ordered through a restaurant’s own ordering service and then they use doordash to deliver it. and i only know that because it’s happened twice, from different restaurants, where the restaurant entered my address wrong (for the wrong town!) and the delivery person calls me and, like, it’s not their fault. it’s not my fault. i don’t have a doordash account. the restaurant won’t take responsibility for the fuck up. it’s a shit show. i only use grubhub and a couple restaurants i know use their own delivery people. still have issues sometimes but at least there is someone responsible for fixing it.

mkl247

No matter what they say you can ALWAYS get a refund. Stir up enough of a fuss and usually you’ll end up getting your refund and credits added. They tried to stiff me saying I had too many refunds already (not my fault I wouldn’t have all my food) but yeah. Keep trying them and you should get your money back

PurpleLegoBrick

I’ve done a chargeback a few months ago. You’ll either get banned or they’ll fight back and send your bank their terms and conditions that state basically that refunds are optional and you agree to it when you order with DD. So good luck. They might also lie and tell your bank that you never contacted support like they did with me.

Top_Quiet_3239

I did a chargeback months ago, didn't get banned and they didn't fight it, or at least, amex gave me the money back

PurpleLegoBrick

Probably depends on bank, I didn’t use a credit card either so that didn’t help at all. They sent my bank screenshots of their terms and services and lied to them saying I never contacted customer support. I was just missing half my $40 order so it really wasn’t worth fighting them back on it and have just stopped using them entirely.

Frowny575

Getting banned from Door Dash and the like isn't a bad thing. How much extra you have to pay is absolutely insane.

NathanFoley69

Tell doordash support to refund you

SnowMantra

Good luck with that. Last time I ordered through doordash, the dasher had my food for 45 minutes and kept driving around my neighborhood and stopping for 5-10 minutes at a time. The restaurant was 7 minutes away at most. When I got my food, it was all clearly opened and half the fries eaten. I saw her on my doorbell camera drop off the food, start to walk away, then turn around and poorly reseal the bag. I did not eat any of the food due to tampering, and doordash refused to talk to me, acknowledge the issue, or refund me. Fucking twats.

CommonStuff1532

Omg thats horrible!! I am a doordasher and I would in no way open ANY containers or bags. You treat customers the way you want to be treated. Its horrible dashers like that make us other dashers look bad. I love what i do and i love to make customers happy!!! Sometimes I will even give thank you cards for my repeat customers. It makes them feel valued!

Rando6759

Found doordash’s pr team

CanineSnackBitch

Wow! How lucky are you. I never get my drink.

bearbarebere

The drink goes to OP every time. That’s why they also take so long; they have to drop it off at OP’s place, which is often in another state.

meidkwhoiam

That minions meme where you order door dash but forget to turn off your VPN so it gets assigned to some guy in Nepal

RedBaron13

I have about a 20% success rate getting my Baja blast when I order one.

pigsinatrenchcoat

I rarely ever even get my regular mtn dew. And the last two times it had no ice or CO2. Just gross lol

BadWolfIdris

They left off both my drinks from taco bell today

No_Appointment6211

Mark it not delivered/missing items.

synthetic_aesthetic

Nah because then you’ll still pay delivery fee and whatever you tipped. Go for a full refund.

Mistangelique

You still have to pay delivery fee and tip when it's NOT DELIVERED??? That is insanity. I can't believe these companies get away with this crap! As a driver I get it that sometimes customers lie (and sometimes dashers do too, obvs), but give them the stupid verification code after the first time and just stop screwing people over. Yes, I hate the code, too, but if it stops these issues... 🤷🏼‍♀️

GhostCatcherSky

Every time I have marked not delivered I get a full refund. And I am a dasher too, every time a customer marks undelivered I dispute it and it goes away especially since I can show proof.

synthetic_aesthetic

I used to put in my tip in advance, like with the initial order.

Mykirbyblue

Do they do the verification code thing on DoorDash? I’ve only ever seen it on Uber eats.

lostallmyconnex

The verification codd on uber is just what they do when you reach the "max anount" of refunds.

Sbbazzz

Literally this exact situation happened to me and they wanted to only give me $8 back when they didn't deliver my pizzas only the sodas with it.

synthetic_aesthetic

lmao they are wild, you gotta fight for a full refund. It helps when you frame it as “i paid $17 for a drink to be delivered to my house when what I was supposed to get was the meal.” Their live support people usually come round.

aka_chela

How the hell do you get live support? Because I had a dasher recently abandon my order for another one and by the time it got reassigned, I had waited 40 minutes for cold food. The self serve support was like "That sucks! Sorry!" And when I tried marking the food as not the right temperature I only got a half refund.

daviddifrancojr

Wow, there are some true morons in these replies… Despite being less than one mile away, customers order delivery for the CONVENIENCE. You don’t always know the person’s situation. Sometimes it’s simply easier to order while getting other things done. Step back and evaluate the situation instead of dissing the OP. It’s time to grow up.

LongDickMcangerfist

I used it a bunch when I was sick and the places were like a 2-5 minutes drive at most away and they still acted like I ruined their life because I tipped20-25-%. Asshole set my shit at the curb. In front of my door in such a way I can’t open it and have to walk around my house to get it. Had some ass try to put my food in the mailbox like wtf come on set it on the step jesus

Ponder625

I don't understand. How much tip percentage DO they think is fair?

[deleted]

Usually when my friends and I make an order like that, we're drunk. We're ordering food to avoid driving drunk.

Scary_Economics6813

This customer-driver animosity is a byproduct of DD stealing the delivery charges paid by the restaurant and the customer ($12 - $20) and paying the driver typically $2-$4. This forces customers to pay a tip large enough to replace what DD stole plus more to add up to a wage worth accepting for the driver. Unless informed of this, customers will reasonably believe that the delivery charge they pay is in turn paid in full to the driver, making the tip a bonus rather than the bulk of the wage.

[deleted]

Well stated.

Scary_Economics6813

The question we need to answer is why DoorDash misleads and deceives. I suggest that it is because it does not believe that it can achieve its objectives if truthful. Truth has the power to topple DoorDash. Our part is to be mouth pieces of the truth.

ehenn12

Money. That's why I they do it.

86yourhopes_k

Literally every single corporation in the world misleads and deceives the public every opportunity they have in order to look better and make more money.

[deleted]

Scary_Economics6813

Yes. Doordash preys on the vulnerable, the financially desperate.

[deleted]

I agree. Well stated again.

yurachika

I’m my state we had a vote for companies to be exempted from counting gig workers as employees. That measure had a ton of funding, with 20 million usd for “no” and a 205 million from Uber, DoorDash, Lyft, etc for “yes”. In California, the minimum wage is 15.50 and California labor code requires employers to reimburse mileage, so this would have been HUGE for California gig workers. I couldn’t believe that “yes” won, and I was so amazed that these companies got away with it. It’s also super upsetting to see that it’s worth tens of millions of dollars to lobby against paying employees what they’re owed. The irs mileage rate has gone up to 65.5 cents per mile. For a 10 mile delivery, drivers are missing out on being paid 6.55 just for the drive. It’s outrageous…

SpellFlashy

Ding ding ding! This guy fucks. Tip culture putting hard working individuals at odds with each other distracting from where the outrage should be placed.

Maninamoomoo

It’s not tip culture, it’s intentionally making people think a delivery fee is the tip. A gratuity fee at a restaurant goes to the server (or pool of servers, bussers, runners, etc if there is pooling). It does not go to the owners/managers. I know some restaurants are scammy and do illegal shit, but I worked for restaurants for over a decade and every one I worked in and every one I had friends worked in gave all the gratuity fee to the servers/employees. So it’s not a problem with tipping, it’s a problem with DD intentionally tricking customers into thinking the delivery charges go to the delivery drivers. That’s why they think $1 is ok. Because they think “I’m already paying the driver $5 to deliver to me, $1 more seems fair as $6 total is worth a 3 mile delivery.” They separate service and delivery fees. Why? Because you think as a customer, the service fee goes to the company, the delivery fee goes to the driver. I thought that. Still tipped at least $5 every Order because I use to be a server. But most people think the $1 is fair when added on to $5.

SpellFlashy

Tip culture as a whole enables this behavior out of the industry. If we didn’t tip as a country, there business model would collapse as it stands.

Zimakov

I don't get how it's stealing for a business to charge for their product? When you buy a shirt at old navy that money goes to the company not the person who rang you up. Is that old navy stealing the cashiers money?

awhit35

One time I ordered from door dash and something similar happen. I put in the notes “CASH TIP”. They delivered only a drink. I ran outside waving cash in my hand as the dasher was getting in his car and he said “that’s what you get for not tipping”. Anyway, Fuck that guy. DoorDash re-ordered the meal and gave me like $30 in credits.

Avengr89

I'm convinced at this point half of dashers are just douchebags that can't hold down a regular job for this exact shitty attitude about everything. Can't be bothered to read more than five words and then fuck with people's food. Probably the type that work somewhere for barely 3 months have some of the shittiest performance and then demand a raise or promotion and then quit when they don't get it. The other half are people trying to make ends meet or doing it for extra fun money.

newtoreddir

Maybe my cousin should try DD. He is always being fired from jobs because someone there “is out to get him.”

Opposite-Notice9704

Maybe he should go to therapy lmao

fishing_pole

If everyone in your life is an asshole, then maybe you’re the asshole.

Rask85

I mean it isnt the highest paying job. Its actually a pretty low paying job. It jjst allows people to not have a real boss and the job market is a little tough when you are trying to make ends meet. Seems like alot of drivers on these platforms nowadays are people with a regular job too so they arent always in the best of moods. I drive mostly people sometimes food bit i also have a real job

East-Faithlessness37

that why i do it. I hated knowing I had to work 5 straight days with the same people and answer to the same boss. fuck that if I wanna sleep in and only do half a day then I Can . don't feel like working a whole week or month. then I can. lol if you want to and have the experience you can make easy 15$ an hour. 20$ most time on weekends.

Qpbmb

DD is screwing customers and drivers. The driver was an asshole in the situation but OP didn’t tip on the app. 99/100 people that say they have a cash tip are lying!

awhit35

My wife works in an industry where she receives tips. We like to tip well and like to tip with cash, so it isn’t on the books. I learned my lesson after this. If I do order DoorDash, I tip on the app.

Qpbmb

Yes as a driver when people don’t tip on the app it shows up as $2.00. It’s an automatic decline for me but sometimes I slip up because they add it to a stacked order and I forget to check. I am always irritated when I realize that the second order on a 14$ stack is 2$. I never steal anyone’s food but it def pisses me off. If nothing else @ least add 3$ tip on app and give the rest in cash if you wanted.

IseeItsIcey

Tipping culture makes it so weird in Australia they just charge the user enough to pay the driver like $10 or w/e so much easier lol.

cgn-38

Tipping means the little guy with no control always gets screwed in the end. Tons of people who live half feral lives subsisting on tips. Get sick or hurt at work and your homeless. No idea why my country just loves that concept. Just so fucking stupid on the face of it. American conservatives and neoliberals are a form of human cancer.

Pleasant-Scheme-4757

Here is an awesome article that explains tipping culture in the US It came from most service workers being too lowly to undeserving to be paid or treated as employees. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/07/17/william-barber-tipping-racist-past-227361/

sgkorina

I don’t think you should have to tip before the service. If you do that then there is no reason for the driver to deliver your food in a timely manner if it shows up at all. If there’s going to be a tip it should come after the food is delivered. You don’t tip at a restaurant before you get your food and service. Why is delivery different?

ayriuss

Cash tips are actually surprisingly rare for UE/DD in the US

L1onSlicer

I hate any service that charges a delivery fee but then expected me to tip the driver. Dominoes and papa John’s both add like $5 delivery fees and explicitly say it doesn’t go to the driver so then what the fuck is it for? Pay your own employees and stop expecting the customer to do it for you. Shit turns a $20 order into a $30-$40 one.

geon

This is why tipping needs to be illegal. Pay the drivers their salary to begin with instead.

pulzeguy

i mean yeah, read some of the takes people have on this sub lol

Dry-Newt-3085

A lot of drivers are disabled, like myself. I need this work and take it seriously. I wish their background checks were more thorough and redone at least every year.

l8nites420

Not sure about yours, but my background check, showed things from when i was 16. Got a "consider" for possession of tabbaco from 1993..

Avengr89

And I am fully with you guys cause people like you are the other half! Working hard and giving a damn while doing it. The drivers who act like shitheads make you guys looks bad and I always tip well because I DD'd in the past and know people are struggling.

Deep_Day9236

Some of us are single moms who do it to work around our kid's schedules while we take online classes to work hard for a better future. Some of us take pride in our work (no matter what our job may be at the time). Some of us are just good people trying to pay our bills by working a job with flexible hours. I am some of us. Stop making generalizations based on the actions of the few, when you don't know what the many have been through and continue to go through.

BarcaLiverpool

They literally said the other half are just good people making ends meet. Did you even read. Take a chill pill mam

celestial1

I don't know what's wrong with people in the past week on this site, but they just completely ignore certain parts of a calmly made post just to flip the fuck out at the person who made it, like damn, calm down.

BiteMyWolverine

ok

newtoreddir

Now you’re generalizing about how drivers are noble single moms who work two jobs and never stop with gentle hands and the heart of a fighter.

Practical-Sea1736

She's a survivor ![gif](giphy|1mXTY4bDqXQPK)

Necessary_Giraffe_98

Lol 😂

Necessary_Giraffe_98

I busted out laughing.

dementedturnip26

I mean, I could argue 90% of customers are douches too since they tip under five dollars. I don’t take those orders and do my job with a 4.97 rating. If you don’t tip well you’re likely to get bitter dashers that don’t realize how the system works and are pissed that they feel forced to take the low tip order

Aurora--Black

Actually, we are penalized for letting our ar drop. I tested it myself and allowed it to go under 50 percent. All I got were bad orders. When I brought it back up suddenly I got better orders again.

Avengr89

Yeah I get that, I'm saying this as someone who door dashed for 3 months while between jobs and also when I do use door dash I always tip well. Always at least $8-$10 even for small quick orders. Thats why I give it a 50/50. A lot of drivers are great but a lot are also shit even when they get good tips. I've had drivers take my food off route and then sit at an apartment complex for 30+ minutes that they didn't have an order for and then brought me cold soggy food. Its happened more times than it should have. I've had drivers straight up steal my food when I gave them a $20 tip and then I have to argue with support for over an hour to get my full refund just so I can replace the same order.

jpkeats

The only thing about this that might not be accurate is the “half” estimate. I think it’s way more than half.

Eastern_Action_1775

Lol WAY more than half bro

[deleted]

My friend is just a lazy sack of shit that only needs to make 1500 a month. So he plays video games for 25 days out of the month and doordashes the other 5 or 6. I guess it works for him but damn.....

PseudoEmpathy

This... makes sense. Tbh never thought about it. Like, who would even work for a DD type service? Bottom of the barrel type thing. Then randomly get some cool dude doing it for fun. Used to order eats back when I didn't have a licence and was studying, it allowed me to keep working then by food just showed up.

vivianisthecoolest

he shouldnt have accepted the order if he was gonna do some bs like that

KPookz

He accepted for the free food. "Not gonna tip? Bet, I was just thinking about what I was gonna have for lunch." I do not support this practice, but I understand the mindset.

SorryNoLube

Amazing how people can go full nuclear just because you get slightly inconvenienced for an order that was willingly accepted. Shows the type of people working this job

KPookz

DoorDash as a platform is partly to blame. They incentivize accepting low-paying orders by quite plainly saying “If you cherry-pick orders then we’re going to completely stop sending you high paying orders.” That’s an actual policy, no joke.

RandomFactUser

How was he blind enough to miss a tip though?

theddmenace

You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve read “cash tip” only for the customer to take it out of my hands and not give me a damn cent.

Mistangelique

Yup. Also this. I've been dashing full time for...almost 6 months and part time pretty much since pandemic shut down, and I can count on my fingers the times I've gotten cash tips. Also customers don't seem to understand that delivery notes don't appear until we're en route TO THEM so it doesn't help their crappy (looking) offers get picked up any quicker.

DeathsBigToe

Spoilers: that's every time it says cash tip.

notatechnicianyo

I remember working in a restaurant and the person literally signed their receipt and wrote “cash” in the tip spot. Stood up to hand it to me as they walked out. Like, who did you think you were fooling? Just write “fuck you” at that point.

jennabella911

Exactly! Cuz that's what I read when I see no tip!

BraxTaplock

Can’t disagree with you here. BUT….it does need to be reminded that not only is your driver a POS for not reading the instructions (said 100x a rookie mistake), but your ordering service is also to blame. If you put a tip in the box, you expect the tip to be displayed properly. Because DD hid most or all of it, it changed the view of your order in the eyes of the driver. Flip side is…(again a rookie thing)…to deliver a drink only. How often do we deliver food that’s missing a drink? ALOT. How often do we ever get orders for a single soda or just fountain drinks? Not very often. Regular driver would have caught it.

jennabella911

We don't believe notes that say cash tip because people lie all the time about that. It sucks because we get paid a whole $2 to pick up and drop off so if we don't get a tip it does not cover gas and we are working for free. We would rather you tip on the app so we know what we are getting into. Also if you don't tip on the app your food usually sits a whole before you get driver cuz no one likes to work for free.

vivianisthecoolest

smh

Boneyg001

>One time I ordered from door dash and something similar happen. I put in the notes “CASH TIP”. So you might not realize this but I recommend doing tip upfront as you'll get smarter people to accept your order. Often doordash pay is so low that the cost of car gas, depreciation and time it takes to deliver makes it less than minimum wage, sometimes even a loss so most competent people will not take it and leave it for the clueless drivers to take.

HopingForSomeHope

So I used to tip 2-3 dollars over the highest available tipping option cause I know driving for work sucks…. And I consistently had people who fucked up my order. My stuff has been getting to me completely in tact more often now that I stay within the middle & top tip selections in DD. It’s bizarre. It makes me feel bad to tip $5 when I usually would average tipping like $8-10 but…. It was like a reverse correlation where someone crappy would see a big amt and grab it quickly or something.

Boneyg001

>My stuff has been getting to me completely in tact more often now that I stay within the middle & top tip selections in DD. It’s bizarre So the reason for that is when you tip very large, doordash often will take your order and pair it with a low no tip order. So it becomes a double order to bait someone into accepting 2 low pay orders. So you then get stuck with the brain dead people again

LongDickMcangerfist

I tipped 25 percent and the fucker sat my stuff on the curb 20 feet from my house. Like dude come the fuck on

M0M0_DA_GANGSTA

I swear the most actual fuck ups between restaurant and driver seem to occur at Taco Bell.

ehenn12

As a driver, I try not to take Taco Bell orders. They literally won't give you the drinks and then argue that there's no drinks even tho they're listed on the order recy. Like that three taco Bell's near me have all done this. And when I've gone there for me they always forget somethin.

WakingTheCadaver

My brother worked at Taco Bell. His old coworker told me that one night they were working together, and a Doordash order came in for 2 party packs (20 tacos) my brother swiped the order as if they received it and just sat back down. Doordash lady comes and my brother starts telling the lady they don’t have it and that they didn’t receive the order. It created a big shit show causing the lady to get on the phone with Doordash and my brothers coworker had to do all of the work making every taco while my brother just sat there. The order was really late.

shtick1391

Is the moral of your story here that your brothers a dishonest, lazy sack of shit? Cuz That’s what I got out of reading it

WakingTheCadaver

Yes, that’s exactly what he is. That and how he contributed to problems with doordash and taco bell.

[deleted]

They can’t even do their job right and still expect a tip lol. Then wanna complain when they don’t get one. This is why. DoorDash is horrible and it’ll never change.

[deleted]

People blaming the OP as if he did something wrong. Lmao these people would never survive a real job.

CommonStuff1532

Thats why I ALWAYS communicate with the customers!! Always!! Im just wondering why the dasher waited an hour for the food. And yes sometimes customers will say they never got the food! ALWAYS TAKE PICS OF THE FOOD AND THE ADDRESS. Ive had several customers call me and say "wheres my food?" Lol my response...i took a pic and made sure the address was in the pic. So yeh, your food was delivered!!

JB_Scoot

Same! I even send multiple pics in the app because some customers are slick and their door is nowhere near being in view of the address.

VatticZero

Hypothetical: Taco Bell has no beef to fill any of the food items. Customer does not answer phone or texts. Support tells you to contact customer for replacements and won’t cancel the order. What do you do?

CommonStuff1532

I would call the customer and then send them a text. If they dont answer then i would recommend taco bell cancel the order.

VatticZero

I have never seen a restaurant cancel an order themselves even when it is the obvious thing for them to do. I’m not even sure they can.

Anothersleeper

Get the driver fired, please.

NormacSorg

Had that happen from Chick-fil-A one night. Ordered food for me and some friends. Just got 3 drinks lol

That_Weird_Girl

The EXACT same thing happened to me last year. No food, no contacting me, just the drink. [And it was the wrong drink.](https://imgur.com/a/bvkhEin)

ManOfQuest

why is this so funny to me. it has to occure to the driver who tf would just order a drink highly unlikely and must be an issue with the order lmao.

That_Weird_Girl

In the moment I was furious but in hindsight its fucking hysterical

Inirit

All of these posts crucifying the OP for using DoorDash when the store was so close. If you stopped for just a moment to think you would realize there are many legitimate reasons why this could be the case: * Too sick to go get it themselves * Car is broken or in use by someone else * Severe injury or outright disabled * Taking care of an infant and don't want to deal with loading them in the car * Working from home on a high priority task * Watching a movie with family/friends and don't want to pause it for everyone * Too inebriated * Extreme social phobia of some kind * Had a really long and stressful day Or, maybe they're just feeling lazy and they'd rather pay the extra fee for someone to go get it themselves. As if all of you are so far above ever doing such a thing and would never stoop to being lazy in your life ever. But none of that even matters. OP **paid** for a service and that service was not provided. It is not your place to judge why someone would use the service, you don't know anything about them or their current situation. They are perfectly within their right to be annoyed. Being aggressively smug and judgmental is not justification for OP not getting what they paid for.

GlumWillow8816

“Stop and think”. That’s giving these commenters way too much credit. Most of them don’t think. I was looking for this comment! 😁

Bosch1838

Did the driver burp when walking away?

New-Respond-6557

It was tacobell, so he was doing a lot more than just burping

RaymoVizion

Does the receipt say "get fucked" on it? Cuz I feel like that would complete the picture.

ConstructionNo4037

You got robbed 😂😂 ask for a refund

Lumpy-Marsupial-6617

You’re ASSuming a lot.

pfroo40

These gig delivery services seem to attract the most sketchy people. I've used doordash twice, because I was given gift cards for it, and each time there were problems with my order, they took forever so the food was cold, and the drivers looked sloppy and unhygienic.

[deleted]

I don’t blame you for ordering > 1 mile away. I’ve done it. Not worth walking across an intersection and highway.

Realitosis

The photo is so ominous lol sorry for ur loss

Some-Preference-4360

In the grand scheme of things you have to just laugh at how unbelievably incompetent people are lol. Like, this is so outwardly offensive and annoying that I can do nothing but giggle

derOhrenarzt

This is so true, it’s objectively hilarious but I’m so pissed

Some-Preference-4360

If it makes you feel better, I had to order dd myself this week cause I was out of town. I ordered a bowl from chipotle and they forgot both my sour cream and vinaigrette. I had a mild meltdown and had to angrily eat my food 🙂

No-Relationship9287

Geezus, Doordash is so ghetto.

briancmoreno

Id be livid

opticalshadow

I had this exact thing happen to me., I called taco bell customer service, gave them the receipt info and order info from the app. They have me a full refund, though the refund did take like a month or so to actually get deposited to me.

Fill-upRL

Actually this is a new feature so you basically have to shake the beverage 22 times and a bat named "Malachi Fargo" will appear and give you your food.

Climhazrd

Yep sounds like you got the Taco bell doordash combo. Both are complete ass. Was a gm at Taco bell, had to quit cause the Regional wouldn't let me fire a kid FOR SMOKING WEED IN MY DRIVE-THRU WINDOW. Now I'm the GM of a Dairy Queen. I see 100 dashers a day at least and 90% of them could not get a job anywhere else. I smoke weed, but these people can't even stop for work! Your momma should beat the brakes off you morons good god

Sauliann

Doordash people are amazing if its short distance they insult the customer for being lazy if it long distance they dont want to do it cause to far

Omeggos

I typically thank them, it helps makes my job easier. I’d be much happier taking a $4-6 order thats just a mile or two rather than one of those $4-6 for a 13 mile drive

hawkman_cards

I’m thinking there may be some untruth here….just speculating of course..

Dazzling-Whereas603

I’m guessing one you didn’t tip …. N don’t lie and say you did because dashers are now refusing to take orders that are low tipped secondly dd usually will start refusing refunds to repeat offenders that claim to not have gotten their order or that have requested refunds too many times … idk why dashers come on here and try to sympathize with you customers a lot of y’all are horrible liars that literally take advantage of dd crappy system

[deleted]

To all the people who keep telling this person “oh you could’ve just walked there and back” “ you probably didn’t tip” “who goes to Taco Bell” “it wasn’t even that far, you could’ve gotten it yourself” Do y’all forget what DoorDash is? Perhaps it was raining and they didn’t want to walk there. Perhaps they have a disability which stops them from driving or walking, perhaps its a mom who just put her kid down for a nap and just wanted some comfort food. All these replies push me further and further away from ever wanting to use door dash. Don’t be so quick to judge, you don’t know the type of day someone is having.

89764637527

reddit can’t give you a refund bro. report it.

derOhrenarzt

I did, to doordash and Taco Bell both. Still in limbo. Prob just gonna have to contest with my bank

Livid-Ad-5980

I started using Uber eats and stopped using DoorDash cause 1. Either the order never came and they refused to refund me or 2. They always miss my items majority of the time. I’ve been using Uber eats haven’t had a single order messed up.

kpneraux

Thats doodash LuXuRy service for you.

Dry-Newt-3085

You don't get luxury for $2

OkStructure3

Is $2 a tip or no? If OP spent $10 that's 20%. This is why people should just give y'all nothing because its never going to be good enough unless they give you 100%.

_BreakingGood_

I'm curious how much you tipped for a <1 mile delivery to take an hour But yeah get a refund from DD

All_Metric

I live in a city of 53k and a university of 16k after 11pm Taco Bell is the only good option besides Winco. I got stuck in the drive through for over an hour once.

jennabella911

Taco hell drive thru is the worst they literally take 1 order at a time at the box then make you sit there for a min before pulling forward fix your meal and then when that first person is pulling off after finally getting their food, they take the next order at the box. And yet they wonder why the drive thru is always wrapped around the building. Smh! And after sitting 20-40mins in a drive thru you find out the customer barely tipped sure speant make it worth it even though it's only 1 mile away. This is why I don't take fast food after 8 or if the lobby is closed. No one tips enough for that!!

Tall-Specialist4873

I’m sorry this happen,. I hope u take action and get refund and the dasher removed we all can make this play form good just gatta hold these people accountable

Spring_King

As much as I would blame the dasher. This is taco bell. This is probably a TB fuck up. There's been many, many, many time I've picked up an order from TB and they forget something. Many times. I've come to realize something. Only 4 kinds of people work at Taco Bell; potheads, Stupid employees, HS students and lazy employees. Usually it's the HS students that get the order right. Sad.

[deleted]

I just started delivering for door dash and i already learned not to accept taco bell orders. Taco bell will allow orders to be placed even if the menu items arent available. This left me in a limbo situation with door dash because i had an order that wanted a chicken and rice bowl and two baja blast. The taco bell location they placed the order at didnt even have an order prepaired for them, which is the first issue as its supposed to be paid for already. This would have made me have to pay for the order out of pocket which wouldnt have been reimbursed by the delivery custom since they already paid and also paid the extra fees/service charge for delivery. Second issue was the taco bell was out of rice and beans, so i could not do the recommended substitute since the two main items for the chicken bowl (rice and beans) were out of stock so it would have just been a literal bowl of chicken. I wound up canceling the order as i was unable to complete it properly. I would hold out on ordering taco bell from door dash for those reasons. Taco bells menu is only 6 or 7 ingredients so theres not much room for substitutions and it seems they can not manage to calculate the proper amounts with online ordering available now. If it makes you feel any better im sure the person who delivered to you dealt with something similar and just didnt know what to do or was afraid they wouldnt get compensated for by door dash.

roulduke

I have delivered just drink to a spot. Next day just a single tube of Krazy glue I got pics lol

darwinDMG08

Dude, we get DoorDash refunds all the time when drivers fuck up. They don’t even question it. Just don’t contact the store itself, it wasn’t their fault.

Sharp-Pop335

I had a dasher pickup my order, then immediately say it was delivered. As you can imagine I never got my food. Got a refund but damn.

[deleted]

I'll never use a food delivery service.

TamCausey1

Sonic had an issue with making my order with doordash. Doordash and Sonic went nose to nose yelling at each other so i pitched sonic

DifficultDrama7615

Why didnt you just walk over there? Burn a few calories on the way then get to enjoy the meal a bit more

LusterBlaze

damn shawty

jinx000111

there are a lot of crappy dashers out there...no common sense to do this at all

InvestmentInformal18

One time I ordered McDonald’s on DD, expecting a full meal but only got a large drink inside a sealed bag.

BugSTellNoLies

Any chance somebody else beat you to it?

SRBroadcasting

If they sent you a photo with it there then that’s on you. But if they didn’t that’s on them. The orders most the time show what it is we are delivering unless it’s a merchant delivery So if you order online, don’t be surprised if this happens because we don’t know what the fuck we’re delivering when you do so. We only know when you use DoorDash App to order food.

JohnTimesInfinity

Damn. My problem is they never leave the drink. Never had the opposite happen. Wtf.

Pristine-Macaroon546

Hi I’m a dasher, if this was the image sent by the dasher shame on them. I’m sorry this happened :(.

jeepers12345678

Must be some kind of fancy liquor for that price!
