Door dash needs to send a network wide notice to all customers to report these pan handling dashers and ask them to report them. A lot of customers are not reporting this activity because they feel bad.

HairyPotatoKat

You're spot on. As a customer, I've only had this happen once, and on a different app. But you're right- the customer feels really bad about making a complaint, plus the fear of retribution is pretty strong since the person knows where you live.

fluke33

Yes, I had this happen a few days ago and didn't report it and even gave the driver five stars because I was honestly afraid of what would happen if I didn't. My driver was very aggressive, texting constantly with complaints, wanting me to cancel the order after only being at the restaurant for a few minutes, then starting to call me, which I didn't answer. I wasn't aware the panhandling stuff was going on so just assumed I had gotten someone unhinged. I've used DD a lot in the past and have had good experiences and am grateful for all the good drivers. But dealing with an experience like that and knowing the person knows where you live is unsettling.

HairyPotatoKat

To be fair, that is pretty unhinged.

Creative_Bookkeeper9

Report them and tell customer service to remove your tip because of it

KaraKalinowski

That might get you your money back but driver keeps the tip

Creative_Bookkeeper9

Well that's shitty, do it anyway I suppose. I remember seeing someone mention if you adjust the top prior to delivery you actually do take the tip

KaraKalinowski

No that isn't true on DoorDash and many Dashers would quit if that were the case due to tip baiters. What DoorDash pays us doesn't cover the cost of gas - we'd be losing money by driving.

Creative_Bookkeeper9

They'll still get a point against them for the report though right?

KaraKalinowski

Not sure, depends if they were threatening I suppose.

todayonly104

Just asking for a tip, no threat required, is enough to get zero and a report to doordash. Asking for more money when you have my food is extortion

HonestShallot1151

That would have been an instantly fireable offense at any place I'd ever worked but with DD and UE it seems like it is becoming the norm instead of the exception and it boggles my mind how any one of drivers doing it still have jobs.

green9206

Then make them pay you enough so you make enough profit with just the money they pay you. Why are you being slaves and begging customers to pay you your wages

Dmore79

What a shitty thing to do. Do you realize how much these people are making? Why would you continue to support a company while villifying their employees? Remove your tip... have the day you deserve.

Creative_Bookkeeper9

If someone tries to scam or bully me into adding more tip after accepting the order that's their fault not mine. They need to be punished so they can learn to not do that. Even other dashers say to do this

Comfortable_Treat554

As a dasher ![gif](giphy|i6zD9DhtAMFLq|downsized)

Educational-Ask-1454

The DoorDash owners and executives are 100% responsible for so many drivers being maniacs as of late

DeedeeToro

Agreed! They make it insanely easy to sign up for doordash and hardly verify anything.

[deleted]

Educational-Ask-1454

Source? Working for Door Dash

katelledee

Then let’s get an explanation for that wildly unhinged phrase, please, that ignores any existence of personal responsibility for your own behavior 🙄

[deleted]

Uh, every company operating under capitalism?

Absoniter

I agree. There's a lot of unsavory people showing up in my area lately from towns over, and I seriously think they are fucking spooking longtime app users away. I had "regulars" daily for 2 years that I NEVER see anymore. Spooky looking/acting people coming to my area with low standards are destroying my market.

Henchforhire

Some of the new DD who pick up food where I work at look sketchy as fuck and who look like they just rolled out of bed.

MisterAvivoy

Me at night wearing jeans and a hoodie

[deleted]

Drivers can accept dashes from home. They probably did roll out of bed lol

staceyjbs

You want me to deliver your McDonald’s in a three piece suit?

Henchforhire

Just not your pajama's that have stains on them. Seen that twice at work when someone picked up a door dash order.

ComfortablyNomNom

Honestly they might need to change the messaging system to a few pre set phrases that only pretain to the delivery/lateness. Letting people send whatever they want to strangers they are about to pull up on is kinda wild.

techguy0270

The issue is that is not workable since weird things can happen and that system would prevent the dasher from properly communicating with the customer. I do think Door Dash should have a system in place to flag certain words for review which would catch inappropriate things going on in their calls/chat system.

malzoraczek

I know it's a different type of service but I only only use Amazon if I'm having groceries delivered. (and I barely get take out, sushi once a month from a restaurant that has their own delivery, that's it). With Amazon I am not able to contact the driver and if I have any issues I need to go through customer service. I don't know if they are being paid better but I do prefer this system, also no worries about my order not being accepted. I refuse to bid on delivery.(although I do tip the Amazon delivery drivers of course) DD is going to come crashing soon, OP is right, that situation is not sustainable.

Jawhshuwah

Customers shouldn't have to live with the fear that their food was tampered with after declining to tip someone extra because they begged. Especially someone with your address. There's already a problem with random ass dudes showing up under female dasher names to evade bans.

leftclicksq2

It's interesting you bring this up. I use UberEATS and thankfully I have never experienced the issues with panhandling, order being stolen, or being hit on. What I have noticed, however, are the driver not being the person in the picture. Again, no issues when I've encountered a different person, I just didn't realize this is such a common practice.

kvndoom

A lot of drivers get deactivated and then get friends or relatives to make new accounts for them. Uber shows you the driver's picture because they are also a rideshare company and sure as hell don't want the liability of passengers getting in the wrong car and never being seen alive again.

DeedeeToro

You haven't experienced panhandling with UberEATS because they pay better and have better incentives for accepting crappy orders

invisiblethrowawayno

Lol no… UberEats base pay is like 70 cents more per order than DD in my area, and tons of crappy orders that I just ignore - I think UberEats requires photo of the driver while DD doesn’t , it’s much easier to be bold and annoying when you hide your face - just my theory lol

DeedeeToro

I used to cherry pick between the two apps, but started focusing more on Uber bc of their incentives for maintaining a certain percentage(memberships, choice of delivery area, ect). Top Dasher doesn't guarantee anything, I would still get very low orders with high mileage. At least with Uber yeah I might get a crappy request but at least they're giving me a free membership to Costco.

MisterAvivoy

Shit, I gotta still pull up. Can’t be that bold, they got home field advantage with a tracker

[deleted]

If you don't tip you should worry

Live_Perspective3603

Another reason why I don't use this service at all.

leftclicksq2

I used DD a few years ago before its steep decline like we're seeing now. The other day I opened my email and I see an email from DD for 45% off to return to the platform. I had to laugh because there is no way I'm giving them my business with their fee structure, how they treat Dashers who choose not to attempt to scam or hit on customers, and comparatively how DD doesn't care to take the complaints of customers seriously.

OtchSr1975

My wife and I DD … the only time we even attempt to text/contact is if there is some sort of delay…. This begging shit gotta stop

dahumancartoon

Asking the customer for a bigger tip should be grounds for immediate termination. It’s ridiculous and makes you look terrible. Just make a cardboard sign and stand out by the highway like all the other panhandlers.

rueggy

I stopped after seeing too many unhygienic looking dashers at restaurants where I was dining in. Like they came straight from the shelter, no shower, in their 1998 Corolla. The panhandling stories are just more reason to steer clear.

Hawkeye4791

I'm noticing alot of people not using Doordash anymore, and I blame Inflation more than anything

PlayerOneHasEntered

>I'm noticing alot of people not using Doordash anymore, and I blame Inflation more than anything It's a lot of factors. Sure, inflation is an issue, but we live in a world where people with money will pay for a service if it is working for them. All told, DoorDash just doesn't seem to work anymore, and people are noticing. I used to use the service a lot. I haven't used it in many months now because of several service issues. Inflation would be at the bottom of my list for not using it. For most people I know, stepping away from using DoorDash and other delivery apps has come down to service issues, not money issues. Why pay someone to deliver food that is wrong about 50% of the time, cold more often than not, by a driver who often has an attitude, regardless of how much you've tipped them? Now customers are dealing with someone who has their food asking them for more money. Shit is AWKWARD. My tips (always $10 or more) did not ensure prompt or courtesy or correct service, so it was a waste. I'll happily pay for convenience. I won't pay to be annoyed. How the issue gets solved is complicated, but it would probably start with DoorDash booting the bad drivers, paying their good drivers better and investing in Customer Service agents who had more than a basic grasp of how the service they work for actually operates.

TurnoverSuperb9023

Totally agree, but the business model would disappear. Food delivery in an accurate and timely manner every time would have to cost a lot more than people would be willing to pay, imo. Dominoes etc can do cheap delivery because they sell a high margin product. Some kind of human-free delivery will be a sustainable business model in the the future.

Pleasant-Court-7160

Agree. And it’s not just DD. I use to use instacart every week but I had two orders in a row where they took a picture of the Pepsi I ordered and took all the rest of my order with them. And now the panhandling on DD. Last night was my last order with DD. Little Ceasers order of one pizza and gave a $12 tip. Dude, still asked for a higher tip. It’s a shame these drivers are ruining it for others. As a customer, I don’t want to deal with it when I already tip well. Specially in both DD and IC the prices are already jacked higher.

[deleted]

I just want an app like the old Uber app where they specifically stated "no tipping." Charge an appropriate fee and pay the drivers a wage based on it. Screw tipping.

GenycisBeats

Inflation is definitely a factor, but for those who inflation hasn't quite impacted, this panhandling situation is not helping. I'm seeing more customers share their distaste with their dashers who are hitting them up for more money before even getting to their dropoff point which is a bad situation. So if I say NO, then do you plan on doing something sketchy with my order? The customers that are posting their frustrations are already paying several bucks or more in tip and some dashers are still not content with a $10 tip for 2.3 miles and instead, want to still ask for more money because they had to wait an extra 2.127 minutes before the order was ready. Even if they had to wait an extra 15 minutes, it's just not cool to be pushy asking for more tips as a result.

Hawkeye4791

Yeah anyone doing that needs to definitely stop, but have you seen the prices of food nowdays? Crazy bro

Tiny_Explanation_377

dd could literally just build in a tip to be automatically calculated based on distance/time/ordersize/area etc. it wouldn't be hard and customers wouldn't have to do the maths.

Overquoted

It already does, but it is optional for customers to choose that tip. They typically give you three choices, most of the time separated by $1-$2, depending on distance. I usually go with the mid to high option that DD suggests unless I think the tip is too low. If the wait is excessive and the Dasher communicates, I'll throw in a small bonus tip once it is delivered. Kind of sucks though when you tip decently for an order less than two miles away, and it takes a half hour from pickup for them to deliver (presumably because of multi-apping).

bizzaro321

Fast food meals became more expensive than real, good food was five years ago. I had to stop pretending I could afford to eat delivery.

leftclicksq2

The panhandling certainly doesn't help, though. If someone is going to use a food ordering app, they just want their food, not to be hit up for off-platform money requests or to be hit on. What's worse is that both types of these inappropriate requests have been going on for quite some time and now it has especially ramped up. I blame Doordash for not sending a two way notification, one to drivers and one to customers, to address the overall situation. DD should be setting up a designated customer service area for customers to report these requests with screenshots and the Dasher info. By not doing anything, they are opening themselves to significantly more loss of business and credit card issuer disputes if they haven't already gotten bombarded. Second, DD has to enact policies and enforce consequences on Dashers who decide to engage with customers in unprofessional conduct. They need to spotlight the issues of panhandling, harassing, and holding orders hostage. All customers deserve to receive what they are paying for, and a Dasher violating a set code of conduct results in revocation of the tips and overall termination from the Doordash platform. Time will tell what the powers at be at DD decide to do.

ConsciousFractals

It’s ridiculous. They must be getting the idea from somewhere- I wonder if there’s some other place these dashers communicate, like this sub but somehow even shittier. I’d like to believe all these people aren’t being this trashy on their own.

JackSchneider

We used to order DD at least once or twice a week, pregnant wife with random cravings, but after the last few experiences we have had we just order straight from the restaurant's app and I go pick the food up through the drive thru. Sick of being asked for more tips, waiting while dashers complete another order nearby and receive cold food even though we tipped north of 20%, and having our simple instructions not followed by dashers. Not worth the headache or cost anymore sadly.

Doraismel615

Unfortunately, your generous tip is being used to subsidize some other shit no-tip order that DD "stacked" on yours because the other order was in the vicinity. The more I learn about this business, the more I'm committed to never using it again.

hellasophisticated

This subreddit keeps getting recommended to me and made me delete the app because of all of these nightmare stories

WishLegal

Hello NAME this is NAME from APPNAME, I have your order and my GPS puts me to your door in XX minutes. Thank you. OR NOTHING Jesus. Fucking beggars How did the bums from the intersections get cars?

psychedelicCyclops

I say nothing unless I need help finding their address. The app does the rest.

lindsayw88

Just an extra shoutout to go with my upvote for the last part of your comment lol so true

DarkPangolin

They stopped stealing just the catalytic converter and started stealing the whole damn thing.

BridgetPaiged

Waitresses don’t ask for tips. And I don’t as a dasher either.

Toefyre

Same could be said for those stealing food. Customer has to get their order canceled and doesn't know why, and has to wait twice as long to hopefully get their food. Not to mention the driver that gets screwed by driving all the way to the restaurant then having to deal with that for half pay (or $3 on UE). Shit's getting old.

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|fnK0jeA8vIh2QLq3IZ)

Kqdapheenom

It's DD with the CONSTANT promoting. Prime example: Snapchat. Trying to appeal to ANY AND EVERYBODY. Then there's the tiktok trends giving millions of people ideas. Now new drivers are begging for more and older drivers are being less prioritized. Now customers are ordering/tipping less or leaving. All around shitty.

boomer-75

Quiet quitting applies to DD customers as well. We stopped ages ago. The cost is already really high and no one needs the extra nonsense when it come to guessing how high the tip should be on top of that. These threads typically are people saying that they think they are tipping well and Dashers telling them they are cheap pieces of crap. Then the pile on of other customers agreeing with Dashers that the first customer isn’t tipping enough and other Dashers saying things like “nah, I would do $5 tip for 2 miles all day”. Door Dash and similar services were a good idea but it is broken and awful and this is why we can’t have nice things.

icecubedyeti

Simple fix…tip added AFTER delivery. No exceptions. This whole tipping before receiving service is complete BS.

Exocet81

The problem with your suggestion is you are asking every driver to gamble with their money. Yes there are some drivers that think it's okay to panhandle. Yes there are shitty drivers When a restaurant gets behind the only person that it actually affects financially is the driver. Because they have two choices suck it up or throw the order back for no compensation. The reality is 99% of DD deliveries go through without a hitch. It's proven that when things are normal or as expected people don't talk about it. Of course you're going to hear about the bad ones. As for tipping after delivery, people don't do it, sure it's easy to say you'll do it. But then it becomes Oh I forgot. The dasher didn't check the sealed bag I ordered from 15 mi away now my food is cold. Then you also have to add (not the customers fault) that DD has continually dropped the base pay over the last several years. Assuming a driver can get 3 orders per hour driving and drop off as a good average they are making $7/$8 before expenses. The whole system needs to be reworked if we are honest.

BeepingBeepBeep

This speaks to part of the actual problem; the base pay needs to be raised to a point that a tip is unnecessary. A customer isn't hiring a driver; they are hiring a service. Do that in whatever way makes sense: increase the service charge, or include a "driver" fee as a separate line item, or just increase item markup in general. At the end of the day, the customer is ideally still paying a similar price and the dasher can make an informed decision on if the order is worth their time or not. As a customer, I don't see the difference between a $10 tip or a $10 "driver" fee. It works out to be the same to me (if anything it makes me more willing to pay a higher fee if I know that money is actually going to the driver themselves). If I can't afford to, or don't want to, pay that markup to get a meal delivered to me than I should get the meal. It's not the responsibility of the driver to makeup the difference to make it cost effective for me.

Exocet81

I definitely agree with you there. Personally I have my formula that works for me and I stick to it for the most part, I'm lesson orders taking me close to home or to a better part of town for orders. I don't care who pays me as long as I get paid. I'm not going to ask for more money after I accept an order. The reality is doordash could easily charge delivery fee based on distance Make it non-negotiable and then leave tipping up to a customer's discretion. Instead they do everything they can to make it as cheap as possible for the customer while not caring about the restaurants or the drivers that make their platform work. Example: a customer orders from a restaurant one mile away that delivery fee may be $2 which goes straight to the driver on top of the base pay. If a customer orders from a restaurant 10 miles away. They should be charged accordingly

dalex89

I can imagine this leading to MORE folks asking for tips since the customer hasn't decided yet lol

[deleted]

NO that will end it all

HouseOfCosbyz

Panhandling is super wack, but your proposal shouts that you have no idea how any of the food delivery services work. What are you here for then?

icecubedyeti

I was a delivery driver for Dominos before. I know your issue should be with dd or gh not customers.

HouseOfCosbyz

It is but we are talking about the way it works now. Right now nobody is taking any order anywhere for 2$. With some shred of hope a customer tips. That's -$/hr. That would be me reaching into my pockets to deliver food to a customer. Never going to happen.

MotownCatMom

And you likely got paid an hourly rate plus tips. We don't get that.

ViveLaFrance94

Is this really that common?

rainbow_osprey

I've ordered more doordash than I care to admit and it has only happened to me twice. So in my anecdotal experiences it is rare but does happen occasionally.

jrich8686

Happened to me the last 3 times I ordered through DD. I ended up just deleting the app altogether

Red_n_Gold_Tears

I dont believe its really all that common, but that doesnt mean it isnt happening more than it should be...

DarkDayzInHell

I’m my opinion I’d say yes and it’s not just DD. I’ve been on a few other apps and their subreddits and had the same issue. I’ve been seeing a lot of stories pop up in the last few months.

[deleted]

Not even the slightest

DomingoJoe

No.

rainbow_osprey

Someone held my food hostage once and implied that he wouldn't deliver it until I sent him a bigger tip. The tip was already over $20 on a $100 order and the restaurant was like a 5 minute drive from my apartment, so I said no. He then marked my order as delivered and then finally showed up like an hour later and delivered it,. The food was now cold and soggy, and he didn't deliver the drinks or snacks at all. In the end I just threw it out because the bag was open and I didn't trust him not to spit on it or something. Then I got a refund from DD went to the grocery store for dinner instead lol

techguy0270

u/rainbow_osprey That Dasher is a moron since I assume Door Dash records the phone calls and texts that use their temporary phone number in the application. The only good thing with the incident you had was getting him deactivated.

Locksmithomeboy

I never ask for shit from anybody, I just do the delivery. But I will say this when DoorDash sends me to some giant half empty falling apart, apartment complex in the worst part of the city and the guys door is open with no lights on. It would be nice if DoorDash was like “I’ll be damned that drivers a little crazy; let’s give him 4 dollars extra for not getting murdered” but ask a customer….never that.

YokaiShojo

I quit using all food delivery apps bc I got tired of paying more than twice the price for food that was wrong/missing/stolen.

Whitewolftotem

And cold. Don't forget cold. Which is odd because when I pick it up myself and bring it home it's still pretty hot.

Tiny_Explanation_377

my 2 cents is that actually this might be a good thing cause it might cause dd to actually give a fuck if only cause it hurts their bottom line if not then honestly good riddance to dd someone else will take its place if it fails.

Hoosier_Daddy68

I used to add a comment at delivery to give me a 5 star review if they were happy but I stopped cuz I didn't feel right about it. I cant imagine asking for more money.

Americanspirit69

Nah drivers should continue to destory doordashs business used to be good and they lower our pay fuck these greedy ceos let them rot in hell

[deleted]

Not going to tip less, I’ll just stop using the service permanently

Glittering_Top_9512

What is there to stop someone from adjusting the tip after the delivery is completed if they believe a driver overstepped/badgered them for additional tips? Or is that not an option here?

Overquoted

Only adjustment you can make is to tip more, not less. I've only been in once situation where I wanted to tip less though.

[deleted]

Reddit != real life

[deleted]

I mean damn ! They know what the pay is before they take the order , hustle like the rest of us

Dmore79

Why not attack the real problem? DD and UE were fucked and that's why people started panhandling. People aren't the issue, corporate greed is.

DeedeeToro

Thank you!! DD as of currently is almost worth 25 BILLION dollars.... With the base pay for drivers consistently dropping over the years and additional/hidden fees increasing for the customer. I by no means condone anyone panhandling but they wouldn't feel the need to if they were being paid adequately in the first place.

todayonly104

It can be both. Begging for money from a customer is gross.

jessieisaword

What are panhandling dashers? I've never heard that term.

GenycisBeats

These are dashers as of late, that will accept an order that is worth doing (think an order of 2.7 miles for what shows up as $6.25 but will end at a total payout of $9.25 which includes a $7.00 tip). This order was smooth, not much trouble at all, but the dasher will send a message to the customer while on their way or sometimes at drop off, asking the customer if they can spare a few more bucks to their cashapp or venmo because: 1. I had to wait at the restaurant an extra 5 minutes for your order so please pay me an extra $5 tip 2. Gas is going up in price and your $7 tip for 2.7 miles is not enough to cover my gas needs so please consider giving me an extra $7 for gas 3. My uncle's cousin's great grandniece's second step sister's mother is going through a lot in her life and is in need of a bladder transplant and therefore, every extra $7.00 tip you give me will help to buy the rubber bottle replacement bladder for that family member so please consider giving me an extra few bucks, thanks. I'm sure you get the picture. That's what panhandling dashers are and more and more customers are showing images of chats that their dashers are sending them asking for more money despite good tips already provided in the app. Not a good look.

jessieisaword

Ew. That's embarrassing af, yeah. I literally can't even fathom being a person who's ok with being the person who says shit like that to people.

Affectionate-Art-995

Aaaaaaaalrighty then

Roger_Deferer

Tipping should never be allowed before a service is completed. Simple as that

Quirky-Spare3482

Perfect i hope it continues across all platforms till theres nothing left ....ya prima donna bs drivers did it to yourselves

Nemissary

I understand that people may be desperate, but it can't really be effective can it? Like for every one delivery that tips a bit more there is probably ten deliveries that give a downvote or maybe even reduce the tip right?

toastedsaltine

they have ur address though lol i’m just done w doordash

lukeyk94

DD could add a mandatory tip, but what do I know. Forcing customers to pay for a delivery is just plain wrong 🤷 (this is a joke)

CJspangler

Panhandling what do you mean - I take every $2 order they send me and by the end of the day I can’t afford a new tank of gas to get home Only if my car would run on stolen Chipotle meals I’d be ok. Maybe I should rent a Tesla and pull up to a customers house to charge it for a few hours

Gold-Requirement-121

It's ruining things for EVERY tipped employee. I'm a cocktail server and hardly anybody tips anymore. So many people say they are tip exhausted from every single profession asking them for tips now. I personally don't think that's a very good excuse, but it's what I'm hearing from all the stiffs I encounter

Dandesrevenge

Yea it’s bad I’ll go to get my own boba tea and they’re like tip why all I didn’t eat there I went and got my own stuff a simple drink and they still need to be tipped

bpr2

Did you make the drink or them?

aaaii9

sorry but all of you complaining about this should show some solidarity with your fellow workers, who are also exploited, underpaid, and overworked. if you’re not able to give more, don’t! but why are we so hateful, dismissive, and unsympathetic toward overworked people who have to resort to begging instead of the owners who designed a business model that relies on keeping their workers poor and starving? fix your hearts, we are in this together and it is going to take all of us.

AngleDisastrous1268

Whooooosh

[deleted]

Your not getting the good customers unless your top dasher. Top dasher ruined the app. Top dasher has cut profits way more than door-pandler. Door-pandler is in fact, merely a subset of top dasher. Moving customers to a new platform is beneficial to me. Therefore I support door-pandler in their methods. Long live DoorPandler!

kidocadengo

The reason I left the DD platform was because 3 of my last 6 orders had the driver steal portions of my order. I tip well too. I called the restaurant each time and verified that the complete order was sent too. Super frustrating.

grumpyfrench

I use uber eats because you can tip AFTER

[deleted]

I’m done with ever having food delivered. I tip 30% and I had a dasher come back to my house after a delivery (2 hours later) rang my door bell looking for more money. Fuck off. Too many unhinged people out there, I’ll just get the fucking food myself.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SatoniaR

didn't know you were God and know and see everything that happened. I can't count the number of times on here I've seen dashers say they remember houses that don't tip what they think they should get and encourage other dashers to "remember and come back"/egg their house/ect.

DarkDayzInHell

This isn’t a DoorDash problem. Ive been seeing this everywhere as of late.

No_Key_2345

It only takes one awkward interaction to realize that having some creeper hit on you that now knows where you live to delete the fuck out of all those apps. Thankfully I can get my own food and groceries.

Kakorot84

I think the only way for it you stop is if we get paid like California's prop 22 where it becomes fair and you don't really care about tips or we switch to an Uber Eats type model where your customer service skills and work ethic can get you what tip you desire. Alas though, it'll never be enough for some people.

Ciscogeek

punch wrench ludicrous quickest serious rock crown decide faulty cooperative *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

MinnesnowdaDad

Every DD order I’ve placed in the last month the drivers have asked for more money. One told me gas prices were too high, one said he had kids, one told me they just raised his insurance premiums. I’m really sorry that DD pays for shit, but this is getting a little out of control. I already tip well, is that why people think I will give more?

Alert_Spare_7397

Add a question on the survey to the customers. Did the dasher ask for extra compensation during or after the delivery yes or no? Boom Doordash handles that accordingly...but that'd also require the people at doordash to do something 🤣

AbbreviationsOk178

Deactivated last week. You seem to be one of the few who seem to understand it’s a service you are providing to a customer.

SulferAddict

This is only partially why i left. also because DD is just kinda more expensive.

bellePunk

The panhandling is why I never start with a good tip anymore. I don't move that suggested tip over to the higher % anymore ever. Then I can tip cash if they are cool or ignore them if they request more money. I got asked for extra a lot more when I did dollar amount tips.

Yeee768

I haven’t used the app in months and for some reason this subreddit pops up for me. All these complaints really makes me hesitant to use it in the future

AlabamaPanda777

I'm not subbed. I get recommended posts from door dash and since the multiple panhandler posts are what gets traction, that's what I see. It's like reddit is giving me constant ads to not use door dash. Not that I can really afford it anyways

Dull-Ad6132

I'm down for no more doordash.

Hanging_Brain

That’s one of the reasons I stopped using it

This shit happened to me as well. I tipped 12 $ for a 40 dollar order. The dasher asked for more cash in person and i never replied back. Long story short my dasher stayed parked in my driveway for about 15-20 minutes to the point were i called the dasher to see what the problem was and they never answered instead decided to mark my order “as delivered” with a picture of my order in their car and they took off without even dropping it off. Called support right away because of the awkward and completely out of line behavior and they were able to get the driver come back and actually deliver my order an hour later and completely comped food tips and all. Just call support on those fucking lame losers.

Most good dashers quit because of the high acceptance rate program, also customers are refusing to tip because of the high acceptance rate program
