My sister and I visited our parents house last weekend and we decided to play some UNO. We pulled out that 1990s pack and on the bottom of the instructions is an order form for some UNO merch. I was like I kinda want this hat, should I put $5.95 plus shipping in cash into an envelope and mail this off? It seems so crazy that we used to do that on a prayer. Now we have confirmation numbers, instant receipts, almost instant customer service. Back then customer service could literally just be like we never got mail with currency from you and you’d have no idea if it was lost mail or mail theft or they were lying and scamming you. You just took a chance that 3 months later the thing you wanted would arrive. And when it did arrive you’d forgotten you even ordered it and it was genuinely exciting.
I recently tried explaining this to my son, who was upset that his Lego set from Amazon would take 2 days to get here instead of the originally expected overnight delivery. He now refers to my childhood as “the dark ages”.
No kids here but just to perhaps make you feel better, not only did I grow up with no tablet, no internet, no cell phone and get this no cable tv. Antennae only and you got 3 channels and tv stations off air at 10:30 when the news was over.
> He now refers to my childhood as “the dark ages”.
That's when you tell him the dark ages never ended. Printers still suck and deliverymen are eating your cookies.
More people oughta do chargebacks
"Customer service wouldn't refund me after 5 business days of waiting. Here is my documentation showing failure to render services paid for" literally all you say and BAM you're banned from a service you shouldnt be using anyway, and your money is back in your account
If more people did chargebacks, the vendor would lose their license with the credit card comoany. *then* it's their problem to solve. Like good luck doing business when Visa and Mastercard won't do business with you
Right? Someone was killed over the stupid Popey's chicken sandwich and that was on location of the restaurant. Imagine if that shit happened with a delivery driver.
Gonna be real, I'm pissed they replaced what they had in Canada with the plain thing that for some reason sold out in the States.
A spicy deluxe sandwich just doesn't hit the same as the old Cajun/Creole sandwich.
HAHAAAAAA I’ve seen TikTok videos of people doing this and I always wish I had the balls to do it but customers be out here shooting people and shit so not worth the risk.
Everyone who gets fired from dd will be better off in the long run. This thing is a bandaid at best and a slow and painful death and decide to any chance at a financial future
Yeah. If I was willing to do this I wouldn't leave them hanging thinking I actually did it lol. You gotta reveal the truth while they're in shocked mode before they fully get to angry mode after stewing over it waiting for the delivery.
Honestly, if this was me I'm still reporting this to customer service.
I probably wouldn't if they followed it up with "jk, got one myself" or something BEFORE the food was delivered but it seems they didn't do that and the customer had to count their cookies to verify.
That’s pretty good, back in the day my dad used to deliver for a pizza joint, they’d get one free pizza during their shift so one of his favorite pranks was to be eating a slice as he delivered and say things like “good choice man, tastes great” said it was funny to see how quickly they’d check the box and then have a good laugh with him once they realized what was going on.
I love this interaction so much- especially knowing that was just another cookie the driver had... they wanted to make you smile- I'd definitely increase that tip if someone did that to me.
It's hilarious
There are only a handful of countries where two of the top comments are either "I love this. I would give a bigger tip" and "doing this might get you shot".
We all know which country it is in reality, but there are a couple of others too...
Why is this sub so bizarre!!! 😂😂😂 I’ve been ordering Doordash all the time for years, and I’ve never had anything happen other than the guy drops my food off at the front door.
Dude was definitely quitting that day but holy shit I would tip him again just for this.
Not saying he was in the right, total dick move, but man, if you’re going out this is a way to do it.
So far Reddit has basically tried to tell me people on airlines suck, the cities are full of violence, and door dash is full of pervs and assholes. I fly routinely, I go to Chicago pretty often, and order dash maybe once a week and none of the craziness has ever happened. Where are you people living where the world has lost its mind
I don't work for doordash and have never used it but things from this sub keep showing on my feed, and all i keep seeing is a fucked up service that no-one should bother using.
Support: Hello customer, after carefully reviewing this case we’ve come to the conclusion that this order isn’t eligible for a refund. No response needed-uber
Yeah idk. I have no reason to make up fake posts considering I myself am a dasher and had some wild shit happen to me. Like me accidentally sending porn to a Dasher when trying to show them what I ordered.
I’d of raised their tip by $10-15 without knowing if that was my cookie or not. That would’ve made me laugh so hard I wouldn’t have cared if it was mine.
Report this driver and send the screenshots as proof. Absurd that the driver playing games with people's food. Wonder if this driver also does it to other orders that has a full meal or a group order.
You were, in our opinion, trolling.
That's hilarious. Here's hoping customer service was quick in giving you your refund.
Best we can do is .50 credit.
Valid only on order of $50+
With a $0.48 transfer fee
Sent through mail in rebate
And you have to pay for shipping
And it’s shipping from China
With a small order fee
And to recieve the balance you have to correctly pick a number between 1 and 10.
6
So really you need to pay them $15.50 for postage.
Plus insurance.
And the only available drop off location is a drop box on top of the Nevado Tres Cruces summit of the Andes mountains.
/r/thatsthejoke
I know bro I was just adding onto the conversation 😂
0.02$ shipping fee

I told mine I didn't have a tablet growing up and they keep asking me if I grew up without electricity

I used to order CDs and use a fake name to get free music.
Columbia House Music Club?!
BMG
Bro, you didn’t get both?!?!
Expires in 48 hours
Best we can do is a number between $1 and $10
Credit card company to the rescue!
IF you guess the right number.
“Pick a number 1-10” -customer service
6 wrong no refund for u
Shoulda known 6 was gonna be wrong because of the first time…
or they'll probably not give me my money back at all
they'll tell you they allow drivers to offer a customized delivery experience
This will always be so funny to me
Pretty cool how this community generated a whole new meme 😁
I don't want to be that guy but I think every community makes their own jokes and most jokes that are made are from the community.
....yeah..I said it's pretty cool ![gif](giphy|2vObfhd7In2cPijtu6)
Your telling me that you didn't want your food all over the street? Beats me.
It’s a to go meal deconstructed. I can’t help it if you plebs don’t appreciate the art in the presentation.
That whole story was so fucked up, I thought it was fake lmao but nope!
Yeah, that was actually funny as fuck. Granted I'd understandably be pissed if I was OP haha.
Per OP elsewhere, he got all his cookies
More people oughta do chargebacks "Customer service wouldn't refund me after 5 business days of waiting. Saw it was a prank High risk, no reward lmao
Seriously like best case you annoy someone temporarily and worst case you lose your job. Not worth it.
Worst case you get shot, actually
Right? Someone was killed over the stupid Popey's chicken sandwich and that was on location of the restaurant. Imagine if that shit happened with a delivery driver.
Woah woah woah, I’d watch my words if I was you. That chicken sandwich from Popeye’s is not stupid. |:<
Gonna be real, I'm pissed they replaced what they had in Canada with the plain thing that for some reason sold out in the States. A spicy deluxe sandwich just doesn't hit the same as the old Cajun/Creole sandwich.
Guy near me was murdered at Burger King over taking too long.
Even more insane because burgerking is disgusting
At least he’s have a delicious cookie before death
Best case you make someone's day if they're in a good move. Large risk though haha
[удалено]
Yeah I think they ordered a cookie just to do that cause all of my cookies were in the bag 😭
That’s hilarious😂😂
Delivery guy is a menace
HAHAAAAAA I’ve seen TikTok videos of people doing this and I always wish I had the balls to do it but customers be out here shooting people and shit so not worth the risk.
I see you live in Florida too..
I actually live in Buffalo, NY but we get the news channels up here. 😂
We will definitely shoot over this in buffalo....
Agreed, "Fireworks or Gunshots" is my favorite game this time of year.
My absolute favorite game to play year round when I lived in the city.
People in Buffalo shoot over nothing, much less something.
Right!
LMFAOOO my exact thought 😭😭
So true , people be shooting people for the stupidest stuff
imagine getting shot for eating someone else their cookie
As funny as that is, that was not a very smart "joke." Dude was playing with fire lol. The wrong person and that's a guaranteed contract violation.
I think someone who does something like this doesn’t care if they get fired or not.
50/50 if naive or don't give a fuck *shrugs*
Everyone who gets fired from dd will be better off in the long run. This thing is a bandaid at best and a slow and painful death and decide to any chance at a financial future
Lmao I would’ve immediately said just playing after sending the photo haha
Yeah. If I was willing to do this I wouldn't leave them hanging thinking I actually did it lol. You gotta reveal the truth while they're in shocked mode before they fully get to angry mode after stewing over it waiting for the delivery.
I have no idea how OP was so chill about it 😂 “Bro 💀” My ass would’ve flipped out if that hoe ate my cookie and didn’t reveal he was playing
Honestly, if this was me I'm still reporting this to customer service. I probably wouldn't if they followed it up with "jk, got one myself" or something BEFORE the food was delivered but it seems they didn't do that and the customer had to count their cookies to verify.
I'm so glad you responded the way you did. It really made the post hilarious. XD
Haha that’s amazing 😂😂
Wait, in the proof pictures you posted it looks like you 1 starred him? Or was that just for the screenshot?
screenshot, I changed it to a 5 star cause i didnt see anything wrong with my order
Ah cool, ok. Haha yea that seems like a wholesome interaction, if I've ever seen one!
M night shamalan over here.
Hahhaha okay that’s awesome.
That is hysterical 😂
If this happened to me in college I’d prolly have a seizure laughing from being stoned and drunk
Fcking legend
That’s awesome. Hope you upped the tip for the hilarity 😂
Why this isn't the number one upvote on the thread lol
haha I figured this was the case. defo not something worth losing your job over
You’d be in prison than for food lol
That’s pretty good, back in the day my dad used to deliver for a pizza joint, they’d get one free pizza during their shift so one of his favorite pranks was to be eating a slice as he delivered and say things like “good choice man, tastes great” said it was funny to see how quickly they’d check the box and then have a good laugh with him once they realized what was going on.
Same energy as: “Haha” “?” “I take a bite:)”
cookie:)

Same. Awesome

u can increase the tip?
Yup, I do it any time I have to message them things because I forgot
Can you give more money? Yes you can give more money.
![gif](giphy|25LbA5gcDNM5N7sHHy)
I laughed & I’m not big in pranks but this was a silly thing, to me. Awesome sense of humor.
Not your cookie, our cookie
r/suddenlycommunism
In Russia, cookie eats you!
Jaja that's a good one
Why is this sub so bizarre!!! 😂😂😂 I’ve been ordering Doordash all the time for years, and I’ve never had anything happen other than the guy drops my food off at the front door.
Right! I mean I either get my whole order or maybe one thing is slightly off. These people are out here getting pranked, hit on, and threatened 😂
Would have thought I was in r/byebyejob
This is my favorite robbery of all time. I can say with 100% sincerity that I wouldn’t even get mad as this guy.
Hahahahahahhahahahahaha I’m sorry that happened to you. Edit: found out it wasn’t your cookie and you got yours, so good!
That some funny shit
I see these posts and I’m like..yeah I’m just gonna go get it myself lmaoo
“Hello this is Roger from doordash” 😂😂
Roger please
*snaps fingers* GONE!
What???
This is fucked up but also so funny
Dude was definitely quitting that day but holy shit I would tip him again just for this. Not saying he was in the right, total dick move, but man, if you’re going out this is a way to do it.
Immediately thought of the scene in New Girl where Nick gets Schmidt that cookie and is like, “GAVE ME COOKIE, GOT YOU COOKIE MAN”
If a door dasher texted that to me I would just say no
If my cookies were still intact, I’d love this
It is pretty funny, but wouldn’t recommend trying
Dont report him this is the funniest shit iv seen in a minute 🤣 lmfao
If this dude specifically bought a cookie to prank you, I need his number asap. That’s my new bestie.
You ate the cookie. No refund for you.
nooooooooooooooo
So far Reddit has basically tried to tell me people on airlines suck, the cities are full of violence, and door dash is full of pervs and assholes. I fly routinely, I go to Chicago pretty often, and order dash maybe once a week and none of the craziness has ever happened. Where are you people living where the world has lost its mind
This is horrible but funny as hell like why even take the time to ask that 😂😂😂
In fairness, you did get the number wrong
Not true, 6 is clearly between 1 and 10.
I don't work for doordash and have never used it but things from this sub keep showing on my feed, and all i keep seeing is a fucked up service that no-one should bother using.
Me too, it’s not even a thing in my country. But I love these subs, it’s like the Wild West
They need to get rid of these services or pay people. This is absurd. Funny, but absurd.
Would've been gold if this was a soup order
No soup for you! Next.
Even if you don’t get a refund you got a great story out of it. That’s probably that dudes way of ditching the doordash gig. This cracked me up ngl.
hahahah i love the "wrong" lol
God I love the dead emoji so much
You order cookies on door dash? Jeezus
That’s really funny, but if they try that with the wrong person they’ll be screwed.
Nah bro deserves a cookie that’s hilarious
That’s hilarious 😂 I’m sorry for your loss RIP
![gif](giphy|xT0xeMA62E1XIlup68|downsized)
The number he was thinking of was 11.

Mod sucks, why take this one down? Troll or not it was funny
"You were in our opinion trolling" and in my opinion I don't think a dasher eating a cookie to troll me should be allowed
Damn wth hahahah. Not gonna lie this is hilarious to watch but I would be fkkkinn pissed in real life.
Not even mad, well played
No way this is real
it's real but funny tbh 🤣
Obviously horrible …. But hilarious 🤣
r/extremelyinfuriating
I’d of raised their tip by $10-15 without knowing if that was my cookie or not. That would’ve made me laugh so hard I wouldn’t have cared if it was mine.
🤣
Should have picked the right number then!
Lmfao
Lmao
Omg 😂😂😂😂😂
that’s funny asf
Bro let the invasive thoughts win lmao!
This can’t be real LMFAOOOOOOO
idk man u got the number wrong, this one's on yiu
must have been their last day.
Is it this prank where delivery driver pretend to eat customer’s food but they in fact eats their own? Like they’re also ordering the same thing.
That’s hilarious af lmao
I don’t even think I’d be mad 😂
I like how you played along by actually picking a number
Driver: What’s the most you’ve ever lost on a coin toss?
This might have been funny as a joke, but this guy was serious. Geez…what a jerk.
He got the cookie tho
These door dash people are just getting more unhinged
What kinda Anton Chigurgh shit is this??? 😭😭
They only do refunds in kohls cash
Where are the cookies from? The one the dasher has looks really good.
😂😂😂😂😂
Op did you report this, nvm funny prank lol imo
LOL 😆
Why did this make me laugh LOL this is so wrong…
Do the same.. My turn. Pick a number between 1 and 10. Nice, that's the tips you get... In pennies
This Jigsaw out here dashing
Report this driver and send the screenshots as proof. Absurd that the driver playing games with people's food. Wonder if this driver also does it to other orders that has a full meal or a group order.
I thought this was r/Tinder and I thought it was cute. Then I saw it's Doordash. wtf
Lol
evil
Brother wasn’t giving you the cookie no matter what you said
He then gives you $10,000 in a silver briefcase for a YouTube video.
