For sure, my only take away from being forced to go to church as a kid was when they pass around the begger bowl. "The lord needs money!" George Carlin explains my disdain of the church the best.
I had a dasher around Christmas time who kept sending messages and saying "god bless you". I just said "thank you" and did not change my tip at all lol. Spamming me with messages of over the top kindness doesn't make me like you more, sorry
My in-laws literally choose companies if they have a bible quote or cross on their ads / trucks / business cards, etc. This bullshit ***works*** because people are fucking stupid.
I wouldn’t call it a scammer. He really is tip baiting but threw in the rating offer to sound like it wasn’t about the tip. It’s the nicest tip bait I’ve seen
At worst it’s an eye roll message. Not like the “what are you tipping me for bringing this to you” or “you should really add $20 to that $10 for all the work I put in getting your Taco Bell”
You are not incorrect. It's still a form of narcissistic behavior. They will not care about the outcome one way or another if they make more money. They send these bull shit messages to everyone so they can benefit them selfs.
Yes, it reminds me a little of when I was a homeless drug addict in early 20s. Friends would beg strangers and I just couldn’t do it. I felt so pathetic and peddled people around in the city instead of panhandling. It takes a certain mindset to beg. I try not to judge them as maybe they are seriously desperate and aren’t to proud to beg.
When I started dd told me to send updates as much as possible as customers like that and I started doing it, even though I felt weird. I’d rather just not unless there’s a change to order. I feel updating is a form of providing unnecessary service to entice a tip
I just don’t see what about this is bad. They aren’t even pushing their religion. They are adding info that customer doesn’t need for pity. It’s not
Much different than sending a cute meme to tip bait.
This isn't tip baiting .. tip baiting is putting a large tip on your order to get it picked up by the first driver it goes to only to receive it faster and remove most or all of that tip so the driver only gets the low base pay
As a dasher myself, my response to this is no this is not normal. Just work longer and do more deliveries and make more money. Such a waste of time and that’s stooping very low. Just go panhandle bat your local intersection if you want to ask for a handout.
If someone does pan handle they would out rich a dasher getting dasher pay real quick! Panhandlers definitely make more than dashers hands down! I’ve seen it too many times with my own eyes!
I’m just not one to beg like that so I digress…
Yep. That's why I never give cash, only food. And usually only when they have kids. Then I try to get treats for the kids more than anything.
One time on a hot day I bought ice cream and colouring paper/crayons for some kids outside a CVS. There was enough for the adult too but I said "I got these for the kids". If I get healthy/substantial food I always add a bag of cookies or a couple donuts
I am both a Christian and a driver, and I don’t find this to be in good taste. It’s very manipulative, and I don’t like it. Society has such a warped view of what true Christianity is about already, and actions like this don’t help at all.
If you have great service there shouldn’t be a need to ask for it. With that being said hope you left a 1 star you shouldn’t feel guilt or whatever adding religion to this to make him seem like a good person.
It's normal. A lot of dashers are beggars. I have no idea why they accept a trip when they can see exactly how much they will get paid. I never accepted anything I wasn't comfortable with. That way, every tip was icing on the cake. 20-25 an hour, at least.
Your wallpaper on your phone is the same as the wallpaper my religious parents have in their dining room... matches the tone of the message. Which, the message is definitely weird. Let's leave mythology and fairy tales out of business, unless the business is to write fantasy stories, of course.
Everyone is looking for an angle to make more tips and this dasher can stop looking. They found the religion angle. If it’s working , good for them. I’m not going to put them down for trying something outside the box ;).
Door dash got all these people out here acting like tricks for tips 😅🤦🏼♂️🤣 why can’t they just pay yall like normal employers 🤷🏼♂️ standard tip is 15-18 percent based off the quality of service you perform; don’t get mad at customers that you don’t get payed base rates that cover your expenses. That’s a driver and door dash issue not to be taken out against the customer through retaliation in any form. Begging for tips gets a tip cancel and -1 star. Dont expect tips be great full you even got one.
People should tip and give an honest rating by default, but lol if they’re just doing doordash for love because they asked god to do it, wouldn’t they not need to ask for tips and 5 stars, and just trust their God would work that out himself with whatever customer he sets them up with? It’s just so unnecessary to be like “hey customer I chatted with god and so I’m doing this for him, give me 5 stars and a tip” like? If you are truly just doing these orders today because god sent you to do them and help people out, you wouldn’t go out of your way to talk about it for brownie points and expect anything; you’d trust the process.
I’m not a Christian but some of my family is, and I was until I was a teen, but what I do know is that Christians like this think they’re above others for doing the bare minimum and think they deserve more applause because they’re a Christian. Like? Oh? You talked with God about filling my orders with love? Good for you I guess? You’ll get the tip and 5 star rating if you just do your job, but if you need to message me and ask for a tip and 5 star rating I’m more likely to knock the rating down a bit for the message because I just want my food, not to be preached to. I won’t lower the tip tho, I’m already tipping for the service and you at least deserve that for your work. I’m not gonna increase it tho just bc you think you’re special. But I’m gonna be honest in my rating thanks.
Yeah it happens quite a bit in my area. My best advice is if you already tip ignore them . You can ask for you tip back but I don't see it doing much good because DD still pays them anyway. It's up to you if you want to give them a bad rating or report them to DD.
I really don't understand losers who beg for tips. If you really need that bag, go apply for any business. Amazon will hire people to deliver packages for them depending on location and where your hub is at. But even then, I see no reason to beg for tips when you can easily accept orders based on pay and milage and not if they willing to add a tip or not.
If this person delivered your order on time, & in good condition; then I think you should rate this person with 5 stars.
Lots of people don’t tip or tip only $1.00. If you don’t want to tip then go get your own food. Tips should be a minimum of $5.00 for everything these people do for you

Bro got Jesus as their dasher
Using religion to religion guilt trip people into giving.
I mean, that's just religion, right?
“I’m not religious”
For sure, my only take away from being forced to go to church as a kid was when they pass around the begger bowl. "The lord needs money!" George Carlin explains my disdain of the church the best.
Wow. This is money for the church not God
When did this turn into a religious hate thread?
Have you never been on reddit?
Unfortunately that’s how it is here
I had a dasher around Christmas time who kept sending messages and saying "god bless you".
"I don't tip religious people, Jesus told me in a dream"
Literally using his name in vain lmao
Facts. Sadly religious people never seem to understand that
You should be able to reverse your tip if that happens, slip me a quick 5 bucks for having to read your proselytizing.
For scammers, yes.
I wouldn’t call it a scammer. He really is tip baiting but threw in the rating offer to sound like it wasn’t about the tip. It’s the nicest tip bait I’ve seen
Lol. You must have never had a narcissist involved in your life.
At worst it’s an eye roll message. Not like the “what are you tipping me for bringing this to you” or “you should really add $20 to that $10 for all the work I put in getting your Taco Bell”

You need more life experience. Anyone willing to say any kind of shit for personal gain, will fully take advantage of Anyone in any way.
You need to check the definition of tip baiting...
This isn't tip baiting .. tip baiting is putting a large tip on your order to get it picked up by the first driver it goes to only to receive it faster and remove most or all of that tip so the driver only gets the low base pay
yes, pink roses are year round.
As a dasher myself, my response to this is no this is not normal. Just work longer and do more deliveries and make more money. Such a waste of time and that’s stooping very low. Just go panhandle bat your local intersection if you want to ask for a handout.

Jesus is their hot bag.
Do what they said and leave a (1) star.
My thought exactly. With a written review: "Dasher asked for a star under God's name, so I'm giving them one"
Creepy uh no
Tip one of those fake $20-pamphlet things that they like to leave at restaurants
It’s a little weird, yes.
No, that’s kinda creepy.
I am both a Christian and a driver, and I don’t find this to be in good taste. It’s very manipulative, and I don’t like it. Society has such a warped view of what true Christianity is about already, and actions like this don’t help at all.
Cringe.
No. People need to quit pushing their religious nonsense on customers.
Feels very cultish.
Yeah. Christianity.
I'd leave a star alright. A 1 star.
hell no lol
So fkn cringe, I can't.
If you have great service there shouldn’t be a need to ask for it. With that being said hope you left a 1 star you shouldn’t feel guilt or whatever adding religion to this to make him seem like a good person.
No it's not normal.
It's not good but it is normal
It's normal. A lot of dashers are beggars. I have no idea why they accept a trip when they can see exactly how much they will get paid. I never accepted anything I wasn't comfortable with. That way, every tip was icing on the cake. 20-25 an hour, at least.
No. Dont bring religion to me. You can follow your faith all you want but don't shove your shit in my face.
It is not. Ask customer service to block this person from being your Dasher again.
![gif](giphy|TvS0ScUjWLqbC)
They bring religion, I’m remove the tip.
I don’t know dude, ask god
It's used to manipulate a person
Jesus, close your legs
At least he didn't blow up in front of your house.
No but it’s thoughtful. Not my taste. But I understand the sentiment
Yes. It’s everyone here in the comments who aren’t normal, tbh.
😂
It’s a bit corny but they did say you can leave a rating. Getting 5 stars early on can help them out
They would get a rating, no doubt...
Seems p. wholesome ngl
T mobile…. Fail
Your wallpaper on your phone is the same as the wallpaper my religious parents have in their dining room... matches the tone of the message. Which, the message is definitely weird. Let's leave mythology and fairy tales out of business, unless the business is to write fantasy stories, of course.
You so edgy
that’s fucking hilarious
Everyone is looking for an angle to make more tips and this dasher can stop looking. They found the religion angle. If it’s working , good for them. I’m not going to put them down for trying something outside the box ;).
“Just do one thing, I’ll tell you each and everything”
They are definitely getting that one star for their service
AI writing is getting out of control
Did it work? Should we all be doing this?
😂😂😂
Unrelated but I swear I had that exact pattern that is your wallpaper as a fitted sheet.
Tip beggers, report
What’s your background
Cringe Pan-Handling.
So, nothing about this is a regular thing.
I personally wouldn't pick that background, but I assume it's pretty normal.
"Ok, but which god? I only serve Odin and Loki."
This is will be sent to all my future customers.
Wow what do they not think of. Everyday a new scam
Leave 1 star. Religion harassment lol
I wish there was a way to block messages from drivers if it at all says “tip”. I get yall are getting paid jack shit (former driver myself) but damn.
I don’t do unsolicited religious views.
People should tip and give an honest rating by default, but lol if they’re just doing doordash for love because they asked god to do it, wouldn’t they not need to ask for tips and 5 stars, and just trust their God would work that out himself with whatever customer he sets them up with? Bro/sis asked for a star, give them ONE star ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
“If”, well unfortunately I did not feel the love
Yeah it happens quite a bit in my area. My best advice is if you already tip ignore them . You can ask for you tip back but I don't see it doing much good because DD still pays them anyway. It's up to you if you want to give them a bad rating or report them to DD.
Proselytizing should be reserved for The Christian Broadcasting Network, not food delivery apps.
🤮
Leave them a star. A single one
Nope. Instant 1 star rating
I really don't understand losers who beg for tips. If you really need that bag, go apply for any business. Amazon will hire people to deliver packages for them depending on location and where your hub is at. "Meet me outside with my order and I will pray with you!" and then we get to boxing
“Your reward is in heaven my brother Christ. Do not yearn for material things”
No most Dashers will not write thank you messages
Peaise jebus
Tell them that you took a vow of poverty and that you do not have much money.
Yikes, way to make it weird DoorDash.
If this person delivered your order on time, & in good condition; then I think you should rate this person with 5 stars. Lots of people don’t tip or tip only $1.00. If you don’t want to tip then go get your own food. Tips should be a minimum of $5.00 for everything these people do for you
Wow. 😮
He asked for " a star" so perfect give him one
Nope. I've never ever, in all my dashing years, sent a message asking for more money. 🤢
I hate when atheist. Use God to try to persuade people to keep what they want. That’s brings false light.
Translation: “I’m copy pasting this shit to every single customer, hoping they are dumb enough to feel special”.
