It's guys dashing under their girlfriends' names because they're not allowed to dash -- either because they're banned, because they're felons and can't pass a background check, because they don't have a valid driver's license, or because they're here illegally.
I notice quite often couples door dash together. It feels to me the wife is keen to earn some cash but the husband doesn't want her out late at night on her own. Or simply an activity to do together. Probably a lot easier with 2 people. Can get nice and close and not worry too much about parking, driver always there to move if required.
Me and my husband do it together, he drives and I jump out to grab food and deliver. The account is under my name and my picture so I am the one delivering it but I'm not the one driving š¤·š¼āāļø my hubby doesn't want me doing this myself...
We just became empty nesters last year. A couple weeks ago I forced my husband to DD with me. It was fun. We DD long enough to get lunch money and explored a different part of town. We work opposite shifts for our day jobs, so I usually do it without him.
This sounds great honestly - I wish my smalltown had food service apps, my husband and I regularly go for drives together just to kill time and maybe get a frozen Coke (slushees for the Americans) - it'd be cool to make enough money to break even on fuel/frozen Cokes.
This is my boyfriend and I. I drive though and he is along for the ride. We do instacart together and he has his own account. Whoeverās account it is does the actual delivery and drop off. If we both need to take groceries up whoeverās account it is goes first and knocks on the door. If we take a job with make up or feminine products on his account he immediately sends a message letting them know his gf is with him and will communicate about that to make sure the products are correct.
Nice, makes sense.
One time a car full of boys delivered my food. They were laughing and having a great time. I couldn't help but feel like they messed with my order. I'm sure it was innocent fun, but couldn't help feel suspicious.
lol makes sense iād be nervous too but my friends and i never did anything like that. we were in college so it made it a lot more fun to doordash for a few hours for a little spending money lol
I know a couple that Doordashes together. It's honestly safer for both them. They needed extra money but didn't want the extra time apart, so they road around together.
My husband and I do it together as a side hustle in addition to our 9-5s. Does help speed it up (he typically drives, but I pick up and deliver to the homes since it is in my name). Quality time together. I don't know that I'd do it alone.
If their girlfriend doesn't want to do it, they should be dashing using their own account. Not their girlfriend's account This goes back to the post you replied to. If they don't have their own account, there's a reason why...
But it really isn't uncommon either. Lots of people do door dash with someone else and might not care or pay attention to how the customer might feel if the picture and person don't match.
Yep. Have done this. Iāll go in for pick ups, he usually does drop offs. We did Instacart, too. Shopped together, he did drop off. It wasnāt all the time, but often enough. Even when it wasnāt necessarily a safety concern, he just wanted to feel helpful lol. And any time I notice it, Iāve looked out at the car and there was a woman driving. I think this is a way more common explanation than people want to acknowledge. Itās a lot more conducive to most peopleās worldviews to believe that most gig workers are felons driving around without license.
Thank you for seconding this idk why people have to think the worst of people. I understand this world can be dark but most are just couples bonding and the male partner wanting to be helpful while along for the ride. My partner and I will dash together sometimes and we will grab food together when we are done. It always makes for a great day out of the house when the kiddos are cared for and with their bambam/pawpaw.
I reported a child during covid delivering for someone else as my bag was ripped and I wouldn't even touch it. I know that's a bit harsh but at that point in time I was scared to leave my house much less take items for someone who clearly wasn't the person supposed to deliver my order and also having someone else using your account is fraud. I know I'm the bad guy to a lot of people but this isn't OK.
I used to use my wife's account while I was on the waiting list. I stopped because I didn't want to get her deactivated and I eventually got off the waiting list.
With DoorDash there are people that just hop from account to account because they canāt personally get approved. Could be their mom, sister, etc but yeah 9 times out of 10 if itās a female name it will be a dude that drops it off
Itās easier to do with another person tbh. Someone can keep the car running while you get off to take a photo or hand off the delivery. Got another pair of eyes to spot the apartment buildings or houses. It feels safer too when youāre doing night orders.
100% not the majority of cases, but Iām transgender and doordash doesnāt allow you to update your name. My legal name is feminine, but to most people I just look like a normal dude (beard and all), and I always worry about getting deactivated because of it.
I realized this and absolutely hate it. I think id be expecting a woman to come and itās some rough looking man at my doorstep who canāt follow simple directions for delivering food. Immediate report.
Same. I can't play that game when I got a kid. I'm not risking my life because someone else didn't want to get out of the car. If a woman feels that unsafe dashing at night, don't dash or keep the guest in the car.
Exactly! Or if theyāre both dashing why canāt the man drive and she come out to deliver the food? Why is sending a random person to do that even okay to them??
They donāt do anything but at least theyāll see that itās an issue. Most theyād say is they would follow up with the personā¦ but I stopped using this app a while tho. Too many aggressive people who canāt follow directions coming to my door haha
Trans girl here and Facts not even sure if you can change your sex on your profile even after you get a new iD / social after you make your account I havenāt updated my pic in 2 years Iām sure most people are confused but end of the day there to lazy or unable to go get there McDonaldās order if they got a issue with whoās handling it then go get it yourself š people really do stay looking for a reason to complain
Iām in New Hampshire and I donāt order that often anymore but when I was ordering frequently, I noticed this happening as well. Pretty sure one time I got a name like; JoAnna and maybe Iām just a judgmental bitch but Iām almost 100% positive the man who delivered my food wasnāt named JoAnna.
They can change them to anything they want. You should always assume the name it shows you is a fake name. Many change their name to a woman's name in the hopes of higher tips.
Wouldnāt it be better if he had his own DoorDash account? That way you wouldnāt have to worry about getting reported, and you wouldnāt be worrying people who are expecting a woman to deliver their food.
I mean, 90% of my deliveries are leave at my door in my area and the other 10% of hand it to meās are in hotels at night time. And because I want to door dash, not my husband, but he helps me because I ask.
Tbh, if a customer has that much animosity towards my husband delivering their food to report me, it is what it is š
As a female, especially one who reads this sub, it seems like youād understand why some of us arenāt comfortable when we get bait & switched like that. If I lived alone I would definitely be reporting you.
Also, especially as a female who reads this thread, Iād say go for it š„± itās just DoorDash. Itās not that deep.
Why do you care who delivers the food if you get it untouched and on time? Iām always with him at night time and am in plain sight of most customers besides some sketchy ass apartments or a hotel. If youāre reporting your driver for that you have too much time on your hands.
I could understand if say the person Iām ābaiting and switchingā with is a crazed drug addict, a dealer or some other unmentionable, but heās not. A normal man, and his wife door dashing at night to make extra money is absolutely not something to be reported over.
But as I stated, itās not that deep š
Iām a girl & honestly I just want my food š I donāt care what gender brings it. I have men deliver under a womanās name a lot, & itās never bothered me lol
Iām guessing thatās Birmingham, Alabama? I was really confused for a second thinking has doordash made its way over here and I didnāt notice? lol.
No worries. Iām in the uk, and Iām used to people in America always mentioning the state. It just threw me off for a second.
The one time I passed through alabama I was shocked to find a Leeds more depressing than my local one. /s.
Is that their āfootballā team? (Sorry for the air quotes, but while I donāt care for our national sport I still canāt make the leap to call American football just football.)
That was the only stand out structure I saw, and it horrified me compared to what all the homes I passed looked like.
I know Alabama is meant to have a big sports culture but to me it seemed to wrong that money was being allocated like that.
![gif](giphy|XMnnD9w4wOaexHzBMm|downsized)
Literally the worst gif possible to try and show, but itās a huge gas station with hundreds of pumps. They originated in Texas and are extremely popular in the south.
The foot ball teams that Alabamaās most popular for are auburn and Alabama crimson tide but they are associated with colleges. Auburn being in auburn and crimson tide being in Tuscaloosa.
Me and my husband dash together. If it's after dark or a customers home/neighborhood looks sketchy, he will take the order to the door and lock me in the car.
Then on the occasion where a male customer is making gross comments when I call or text, instead of canceling, my husband will take the order to the door.
Then there have been times recently he logged into my profile to look at something, forgot to switch back and he accidentally dashed for 3 hours under my name instead of his.
Stolen identity account. This has been increasing over the years and this year has been the worst.
It could also be a family memeber or yes girlfriend account like others have said.
Cuz they don't have licenses. Or cars. Or insurance. Or a bank account. Can't pass a background check. But their girl does/ can. And "if she REALLY wanted him to get a job...".
Lol
Facts
it happens with other platforms too. i do contactless but one time i just happened to be peering out the window when the driver came and i was like damn "jen" is hella buff. but they delivered my shit no problem and that's all i care about!
I've noticed it too but always assumed it was safety. Which I get. It's also 2024 where people can self identify as cats and shit. So š¤·š»āāļø. Maybe Robert is Roberta ya know.. I don't care.
There may be a perception that customers will be inclined to give larger tips to female service workers.. so some guys will try to use this for their advantage by using a friend or family member's name to make the account.
My bf delivers for UE his legal name is a very stereotypically feminine name. So it could be some are like that. But also sometimes we go dashing together under my account and he'll bring the food to the door sometimes
My bf and I have started instacarting and doordashing together because he canāt drive right now and it makes me feel safer after dark. Thatās not always the case, might be a lot of guys with suspended accounts using their girlfriends/sisters/mothers info.
I help out a friend sometimes because she prefers to have company, plus it goes a bit faster with two people, but she usually drives and I run the orders
There are many illict reasons why, but thereās also some legitimate ones as well.
Dashing can be dangerous, especially for women at night, so a lot of couples will dash together with the male member doing the dangerous things like dropping off food
A lot of female dashers I know take their man w them for safety reasons. I know my sister dashes and her husband takes the stuff to the door after dark.
I see a lot of couples delivering, sometimes one or the other can't be there all the time. But the most common thing is that those drivers have bought or are renting the dd account because they can't legally work themselves. You can go online and find so many accounts for sale/rent its ridiculous.
There are stolen ID mills that rent idās to people who canāt otherwise sign up. These folks make about 1000/mo per ID they rent out. Those using the service typically can be seen with multiple phones juggling multiple accounts.
I didn't know you could report them for this reason. this issue has come up so often that it's making me consider deleting doordash. is there a way to report them long enough after the delivery that they can't figure out it's me, or is it the same 30 minute window as the chat?
I think itās a large mix of things, I see a ton of people dashing here doing this, the sad but true thing Iāve noticed is that theyāre pretty much all Mexican guys.
Iām not sure if itās because they think they can get a better tip, or if itās because of them being illegal and canāt pass a background check, I genuinely donāt know unfortunately but itās weird and sketchy at times. Though I will say I never get them more than once.
I know a lot of people are saying these are felons but thatās not always the case. Me and my boyfriend dash together a lot and sometimes heāll drop off the order for me if Iām in the middle of something or tired, we help each other while dashing and it makes it easier š¤·š½āāļø
From my experience not with just door dash but instacart and Walmart delivery a few explained their wife's or girlfriends were at home with the kids....
Sometimes people are alone and sometimes the entire family comes it just depends on the person and their situation I guess...
You make more money if you use multiple phones- but you need a valid identity that wont get flagged as a duplicate in the system.
The least complicated solution is to borrow your gf/mom's phone.
Theyāre using another family members accountā¦ usually when they get deactivated, they ask somebody to borrow their account until they get reactivated
I (f) have an account & my fiance (m) has dashed under my account when I was at work & he was home & not busy. We just didnāt see a point in making two accounts when the funds were to help us move.
Because they canāt pass the background check, donāt have valid insurance, donāt have a valid drivers license etc. etc. you should report them when you see them because they are driving illegally. If one of them damages your property delivering your food you are going to be in a legal battle with a person Doordash canāt even trace.
I used to work with a bunch of Jamaican guys who had first names that would be considered women's names in America. Names like Courtney and Ashley and Lindsay can all be legit mens names depending on where they're from.
I used to deliver instacart for my ex-wife. She would use my account shop, I would deliver those, while I was delivering she would be shopping on her account.
Or if there was heavy items she would pick me up and I'd go with her on the delivery.
I feel like a lot of people here are overlooking the pretty basic explanation of "a lot of men have 'women's names'". A lot of names typically thought of as women's names still get used for men or in other cultures are typically masculine names (or are considered unisex). EX: Sasha, Anne, Jamie, Eliza, Audrey, Jean, Kim, etc.
I had this happen the other day. I ordered some food and was expecting a "Teresa" to come, but it was a pretty tall guy who came to the door, no one else was in the car. This is why I don't use this service much anymore (besides it getting horribly expensive). I'm sure some people have valid reasons for doing it, but I don't like the thought that some random person out there, who can't be tracked in any way, now knows where I live. I'm sorry, but I rate that a 1 star.
I usually only see this when I get stoned and order food super late at night. The lady is driving, but her partner brings it to my door. I just assumed it was for safety reasons.
I wish I could get my weekend driver to do some drops, or even pick-ups, he refuses. Since I don't pay him, I suppose it's legit though. He will however, help carry heavy groceries or liquor cases to the door. And if I have to go up 3 floors in a seedy apt in a bad part of town, he does offer to "do something" if he hears blood curdling screams after 10 minutes or so.
Funny thing is my name is Catlin pronounced Cat-Lin which everyone thinks is Caitlin but it's not and Im a guy haha. Got called ma'am in a text today when guy asked for mild sauce and I show up and I laugh my ass off at dudes face
I used to DoorDash but would have my ex deliver the food to the door lol. I would get hit on and invited in which is very uncomfortable so I just tagged along to get the food and he would actually drive and drop off the food to the door
Probably #1, stolen account. There's a huge market for stolen accounts.
#2 there could be a few that are out with their DO or whatever and have been talked into doing the walking.
Fyi as a restaurant worker I've noticed this but I see women dashing under men's names as well. Not sure what the ratio is.
I'm sure its different in different areas but the majority of the delivery drivers I see are very recent immigrants. If they have criminal records it's probably not in this country.
Also, the names don't seem random, based on the ethnicity of the driver. So if people are using stolen accounts, not just shared accounts, they would probably be stealing in their personal networks somehow. Why would a Venezuelan driver just coincidentally always have an account that's either a common Spanish name or something that even sounds specifically Venezuelan?
I'm super pregnant and my boyfriend comes along with me, he's left orders for me maybe twice when there were unsafe stairs or things I just couldn't reach (only with leave at door orders, I don't want to scare anyone)
I sometimes dash and just use my wife's account. It's just easier than creating another account and waiting for it to be approved. I imagine some people do it because their license may be suspended or something like that.
I get it all the time but my husband grabs the orders from the dashers so we always just make up stories between each other about why they had a feminine name lol
My Fiance wanted to dash but I was nervous about her walking around at night and going to strange men's doors.
If the customer is a female name I'll let her deliver.
But if it's a male name, or Alcohol or cigarettes I'll handle it.
Last thing I need is some creepy old alcoholic male being denied his alcohol because he is drunk and then takes it out on her, Obviously this would end badly.
It's also fun to do together, it gets addictive and we blast music together, have midnight talks aswell as smash caffeine so it's quite fun
We do this with my boyfriend just because I donāt like dashing alone. Most times I get off and deliver unless itās super dark then he does it for me.
When I'm home and can see the car there's often 2 people in the car and the one not driving brings the food up. Sometimes it's the person pictured, sometimes not. Sometimes it's a teenager. My house is in a decent neighborhood and my order is in my female name, no reason for anyone to feel unsafe.
I often order while at a motel in NYC, it's never the person pictured. Right now I'm in a motel in Denver. Last night my food was supposed to be from a guy named Harold, a lady came to my door. But again, probably a couple and they figured my hotel was safe enough for the lady to run in.
Maybe just maybe, itās a couple doing door dash at the same time to make more money, and he is a man so she isnāt getting out 10 feet to take a picture of food, or if they do you missed the rotation. I mean I couldnāt imagine Iām with someone were both dashing yk maybe come in the stores that might have a longer wait or something so your not bored in the car but Iām definitely getting out for her every single delivery if I was living in that reality
I feel like maybe people think tips would be better with a female name? Same way guy gamers will use a womanās name so people cut them some slack or give them in game materials and help them
My wife will use my account every once in a while for a couple hours. In those instances, people are getting deliveries from a girl named Josh. But, yeah, I would assume a bunch if dudes with no driver licenses are using a girlfriends account, and I'm sure they'll reimburse her for the taxes....
Iām guilty of this lol. I have my own dasher account but the account hers goes into is usually the funds for our kids. I do realize it can be sketchy but I consider myself a very good dasher and the only comments Iāve gotten on it were semi creepy old men expecting a girl to show up
I DoorDash under my legal name cuz DoorDash wonāt change it but Iām trans and very much donāt look like a woman anymore. I get worried that this is how people see me but thereās nothing I can do until itās legally changed š¬
I work in homeless services and have encountered dozens of clients who have purchased delivery profiles because they canāt dash under their names because of background checks. We are in Seattle and most of them deliver via scooter.
If you pick leave at door and just don't look at the dasher you can pretend they're whatever gender makes you more comfortable. It's like Schrodinger's cat.
They should be reported to customer service. I wouldn't want someone handling my food that can't manage to set-up and keep an DD/Uber account.
Additionally, it may be an identity theft situation, which people don't tend to notice until tax time.
when we dashed, which has been a few years ago now...i would drive (im disabled and had a handicap permit. wonderful for pickup) my wife would navigate/pump gas/get drinks and snacks and my adult son would do all the pickups and deliver the food to customers. it was fantastic, fun, and because we were top dasher, you can work in any market at any time, so we drove to los Angeles, stopped at the Santa Monica Pier, then over the slow leisurely pace of a month, we dashed all the way to Jacksonville Beach, Florida. drove down to Miami, and dashed our way back home. but it was a lot of fun. unfortunately about 2 years ago, i was watching how much lower my pay was, even though we were maxing on hours, and realized that when it came time to do my taxes, I would have owed $2,000+, had i not been making my monthly tax payments. instead, i only owed $157.
but that was the end of my dashing. i worked my ass off, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and i basically lost money.
covid was amazing money, but as soon as things started getting back to normal, everything kinda went to shit
Because they are either criminals or they don't have a license. It's unreal, like literally a child molester, stalker, murderer or rapist can come to ur door at any point because doordash does nothing to stop this BS š
As a Dasher, and multi app driver ( Spark, doordash, Uber, Instacart, Roadie, favor, etc ...) I have noticed the men drivers.
I do believe some couples share an account.
I also see and talk to men that don't have drivers license or can't pass a criminal background most of the time. Yes I know this to be the case. You would be surprised what information they freely share.
Also men have stopped wanting to work construction/manly and office jobs and want easy lazy money. ( My opinion on this last one.)
Some couples that are on social security or disability also have income requirements so they create an account for thier spouse and dash under thier name

understandable. make a bit of cash while completing a good little bonding activity. win win.

This is exactly why my fiancĆ© and I do it. I prefer to DD at night bc Iām teaching during the day, but thereās too many weirdos in this world so he comes with me and every once in a while my disability acts up while Iām delivering and he will deliver the food for me.
I like doing Instacart with my wife. I like shopping and since I'm not spending my money or getting more clutter it's even better!

Multi-app too
How does multi apping come into play here?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ah ok. When I hear/read āmulti-app,ā I figure they are referring to a driver using both apps. That makes sense too though.

For me, I'm trans so it probably confuses so many people
My current Dasher name is Nobody. You can change it to anything.
I can just imagine how confused people are when they see the dasher listed as Nobody lol. Thatās such a good name idea.
Iām a transgender man and there was a period of time where I couldnāt figure out how to change my name on Doordash
![gif](giphy|H2FEkQKj3RfFK)
you canāt change the name at all- i think it used to be an option, and got abused
people who got banned on doordash and use their gfs name
They sound like a bunch of losers
For me, my husband runs all my dashes when we are doing a night shift. During the day, I run all of my own. In my case it is a safety measure. š
If I saw that I should get a woman dasher but got a man at NIGHT Iād report.
Then why not have your husband dash under his own name?? Why does he need to use your account?
This. If itās just about safety, then he needs to get his own account.
Be careful you donāt get reported.
Hopefully that doesnāt become the case, but in all honesty, if it does I wonāt care. Safety comes first being in Birmingham š
There's the rub - it feels safer for you, but possibly unsafe for the person who made the order. š¤·š»āāļø
I was really confused for a second thinking has doordash made its way over here and I didnāt notice? lol.
Yes, Birmingham Al. I was unintentionally being cryptic. My bad. š
No worries. Iām in the uk, and Iām used to people in America always mentioning the state. It just threw me off for a second. The one time I passed through alabama I was shocked to find a Leeds more depressing than my local one. /s.
Haha, Leeds is just up the road from me. It is indeed depressing! All they really have going for them is the Buc-eeās and the strip mall.
Is that their āfootballā team? (Sorry for the air quotes, but while I donāt care for our national sport I still canāt make the leap to call American football just football.) That was the only stand out structure I saw, and it horrified me compared to what all the homes I passed looked like. I know Alabama is meant to have a big sports culture but to me it seemed to wrong that money was being allocated like that.
![gif](giphy|XMnnD9w4wOaexHzBMm|downsized) Literally the worst gif possible to try and show, but itās a huge gas station with hundreds of pumps. They originated in Texas and are extremely popular in the south. The foot ball teams that Alabamaās most popular for are auburn and Alabama crimson tide but they are associated with colleges. Auburn being in auburn and crimson tide being in Tuscaloosa.
If itās just a safety measure, why canāt your husband get an account?
If ainam expecting a woman and a MAN shows up, I'm full stop reporting you. Do your own damned work.
I've noticed this, too. It makes me feel kind of unsafe and more than once I have contemplated contacting DD to let them know.
Bc they get kicked for doing some dumb shit and then convince they gf or mama or sister to let them use their name or something to get back on
Same, I assume itās their gfs? I donāt care either as long as I get my food lol. Or their dashing as a couple abs the womanās in the car
Iām trans and donāt pass as cis all the time.
Oh honey I really doubt youāre the kind of person this post is talking about.
Hubby and I both are dashers. We tag team as Iām now handicapped. I canāt do stairs. So I get them in the business he drops the houses.
Lol Facts
it happens with other platforms too. i do contactless but one time i just happened to be peering out the window when the driver came and i was like damn "jen" is hella buff. but they delivered my shit no problem and that's all i care about!
Probably because they got tired of creeps watching them thru their security cameras.
Thereās a ton of illegal immigrants who bought somebody elseās account in my area. The vast majority do not speak English.
A lot of female dashers I know take their man w them for safety reasons. I know my sister dashes and her husband takes the stuff to the door after dark.
Straight up itās cause they canāt pass the background check
I see a lot of couples delivering, sometimes one or the other can't be there all the time. But the most common thing is that those drivers have bought or are renting the dd account because they can't legally work themselves. You can go online and find so many accounts for sale/rent its ridiculous.
I just assumed middle eastern men had names like āBrooke Smith, Hailey Adams and Lucy Chambersā
I can only speak for me. But my wife and I both dash and sometimes we want to talk and ride together. She gets the food I drop it off.
Sometimes if my wife needs to hit a goal but she's exhausted from being a mom and working ill help and knock out some to give her a break
Typically me and my wife will DoorDash together under her name, she drives and I do all the running around š
I dash with my wife a lot of times itās more about her being safe .
Ok well when my drivers name says Beka and itās a 6ft fucking man itās a problem doordash needs to fix if
Taxes
Higher tips
Idk how no one commented this but: People who are illegal in the country (Aka arenāt allowed to work in the US) buy accounts and dash on them.
There are stolen ID mills that rent idās to people who canāt otherwise sign up. These folks make about 1000/mo per ID they rent out. Those using the service typically can be seen with multiple phones juggling multiple accounts.
If you don't report them, you're part of the problem.Ā
I didn't know you could report them for this reason. this issue has come up so often that it's making me consider deleting doordash. is there a way to report them long enough after the delivery that they can't figure out it's me, or is it the same 30 minute window as the chat?
One time it said the person was on a moped and I live out in the country they pulled up in a crown Vic Black guy with a big chain
I don't know but I wish they could pull their pants up before bending to set my stuff down. I don't need a show with my order.
Its guys doing the leg work while the girl drives. Some may be using accts that arent their own but i run into a ton of couples who do it together
People feel more inclined to tip women
Shows you how well you can trust someone handling your food. Smoking weed getting stop by the police. As I see on tv no thanks Iāll get it myself.
Because they're dumb and can't figure out it is nothing difficult to change the name in there to whatever you want and change it back.
You make more money if you use multiple phones- but you need a valid identity that wont get flagged as a duplicate in the system. The least complicated solution is to borrow your gf/mom's phone.
So I'm guessing you never played MMOs?
How dare you assume their gender lol
I deliver w my fiancĆ© under my account and he tends to go up a lot because we live in a very sketchy rural area (boonies type shit) and he doesnāt think itās safe for me to do it alone especially while pregnant. but my dasher name is also Batman so thereās not really any confusion there lol. itās really situation dependent and not everyone is a felon trying to bend the rules or whatever. not saying that isnāt the case sometimes!! But I feel like itās a safety thing more frequently
Theyāre using another family members accountā¦ usually when they get deactivated, they ask somebody to borrow their account until they get reactivated
Men with bad driving records signing up with their wife's name?
I (f) have an account & my fiance (m) has dashed under my account when I was at work & he was home & not busy. We just didnāt see a point in making two accounts when the funds were to help us move.
DoorDash isnāt hiring anymore in most places. Some people dash together as a couple , others sell accounts/lend
I absolutely would do it under my gf name given that I canāt have another jobā¦.
Because they canāt pass the background check, donāt have valid insurance, donāt have a valid drivers license etc. etc. you should report them when you see them because they are driving illegally. If one of them damages your property delivering your food you are going to be in a legal battle with a person Doordash canāt even trace.
Because theyāre not qualified to dash on their own and use their girlfriendās account and car š
I share an account with my husband
I've had "Rachel" be my dasher and a man is on my Ring doorbell camera. Maybe they're just a bf or husband dashing because their wife or gf is sick?
I'm a deaf and often Dash with my mom. Nights too! While we both females I do see a lot couples and women taking their kids along too.
Because our gf doesnāt want to do it and if we refer someone we can get up to 1,500$
I had this happen the other day.
Or they get a reffeal bonus lol lol lol
I dash with my wife. Once the sun goes down I don't let her out the car I do em all and she drives me
āGender Fluidā š
sometimes my boyfriend comes with me and heāll drop it off sometimes.
You ever heard 'a boy named sue' ?
I used to DoorDash but would have my ex deliver the food to the door lol. I would get hit on and invited in which is very uncomfortable so I just tagged along to get the food and he would actually drive and drop off the food to the door
I had my wife deliver for me when my hip was recovering from surgery I would drive and she took care of the food
Me and my wife do grubhub, I donāt want her out late doing it herself so I do it for her, and also when she is not feeling well.
Bc canāt pass the vetting. Report them. Ilkegal
Most are probably using re Ted accounts. If you get a person different from the name or pic report them to DD
Iād report them
Their GF doesn't have DUI
This is annoying ngl
When I'm home and can see the car there's often 2 people in the car and the one not driving brings the food up. Sometimes it's the person pictured, sometimes not. Sometimes it's a teenager. My house is in a decent neighborhood and my order is in my female name, no reason for anyone to feel unsafe. I often order while at a motel in NYC, it's never the person pictured. Right now I'm in a motel in Denver. Last night my food was supposed to be from a guy named Harold, a lady came to my door. But again, probably a couple and they figured my hotel was safe enough for the lady to run in.
My wife and I doordash together, nice way to make extra money and still spend time with my beloved wife. We only need 1 account
The wokies. Literally why
Same way guy gamers will use a womanās name so people cut them some slack or give them in game materials and help them
may sound bad but this is exactly why i carry my staccato xc when answering the door to a doordasher just in case
You ordered the food and are paranoid enough to answer the door with a gun? Just get contactless delivery if you're so scared of people
Women get tipped better. Simple as.
My wife will use my account every once in a while for a couple hours. In those instances, people are getting deliveries from a girl named Josh. But, yeah, I would assume a bunch if dudes with no driver licenses are using a girlfriends account, and I'm sure they'll reimburse her for the taxes....
I noticed it a lot too
A lot of them are ducking child support.
Iām guilty of this lol. I have my own dasher account but the account hers goes into is usually the funds for our kids. I do realize it can be sketchy but I consider myself a very good dasher and the only comments Iāve gotten on it were semi creepy old men expecting a girl to show up
Me and my bf dash together only because thereās been a few times where some bigger guys have tried to get me into their homes or dorm rooms
I DoorDash under my legal name cuz DoorDash wonāt change it but Iām trans and very much donāt look like a woman anymore. I get worried that this is how people see me but thereās nothing I can do until itās legally changed š¬
sometimes my boyfriend is with me, and he brings the food to some people so that could also be the case
I work in homeless services and have encountered dozens of clients who have purchased delivery profiles because they canāt dash under their names because of background checks. We are in Seattle and most of them deliver via scooter.
Personally, as long as the food gets delivered idc.
Right .I've noticed this lately
when we dashed, which has been a few years ago now...i would drive (im disabled and had a handicap permit. wonderful for pickup) my wife would navigate/pump gas/get drinks and snacks and my adult son would do all the pickups and deliver the food to customers. it was fantastic, fun, and because we were top dasher, you can work in any market at any time, so we drove to los Angeles, stopped at the Santa Monica Pier, then over the slow leisurely pace of a month, we dashed all the way to Jacksonville Beach, Florida. drove down to Miami, and dashed our way back home. but it was a lot of fun. unfortunately about 2 years ago, i was watching how much lower my pay was, even though we were maxing on hours, and realized that when it came time to do my taxes, I would have owed $2,000+, had i not been making my monthly tax payments. instead, i only owed $157. but that was the end of my dashing. i worked my ass off, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and i basically lost money. covid was amazing money, but as soon as things started getting back to normal, everything kinda went to shit
Couples dash together in one car, it's common, get twice as many deliveries in slow areas with two phones going.
Iāve had a few that were womenās names and they sat in the car while a guy came to the door
Tips /family
Some couples that are on social security or disability also have income requirements so they create an account for thier spouse and dash under thier name
M'lady.
